We was a lovely place and clean. There was an air conditioner in the living room area, but the bedrooms did not have air. We were there the first week in November. It was hot and humid, so the bedrooms and bathrooms were a little too warm for us. Everything else was great though. It is well furnished with things that you might need for your vcation. Overall it was a great place to stay.

We came with our 3 kids for 6 nights. The condo is great- well equipped with so many things: booster seat, boogie boards, sand toys, etc. lots of fans since the rooms don’t have AC.
There isn’t beach access from the grounds and from some of the pictures, it looked like there was going to be. That was a bummer. The beach access was a short walk down the street to the beach park. There is not much near there as far as food (not really walkable) but it is located centrally in the island which was convenient for all of the driving we did.

We had an amazing time there. Our apartment was beautiful clean, the pool was amazing, and the ocean beautiful. We spent our mornings surfing snorkeling repelling and sightseeing. We spend our late afternoon and evenings down by the pool and by the ocean visiting with other guests, barbecuing, and swimming. It truly was the best vacation I've ever had ❤️❤️❤️

If you are interested in visiting all areas of Maui - this place is for you. It was 20-25 minutes from all the south Maui beaches of Kihei, Wailea, McKena, 30 minutes from west Maui, central Maui, and upcountry. The condo is peaceful and relaxing. One downside is that there was limited dinner nearby so if you were planning to go out for all your meals, your choices might be limited. Sugar beach was a great place to hang out and walk on but probably not the best for small kids to swim in.

We enjoyed our stay in Ma'alea. We liked that we were close to Kihei and Wailea and an easy drive to Ka'anapli. The master bedroom mattress is firm and comfortable, the unit is a good size, and we enjoyed the lanai. We appreciated the cooler, beach chairs, beach towels and boogie boards. It is an older building and getting in with the antiquated door lock was a bit of a challenge. Also things tend to stick a bit or not close properly. The AC unit needed to be strategically lined up with the fans in the unit to make the bedrooms cool. We also really enjoyed walking on the nearby beach and the kids liked the pool. Barb was great to work with. My husband left a brand new pair of shoes in the unit and the cleaner shipped them to us through coordination with Barb which we really appreciated.

Great location with lovely pool area and beautiful ocean views. A little off the busy strip which is ideal for many. Walk to the harbour which includes restaurants, essentials, some activities like mini golf and bumper boats. Communication with Barb was easy and she was very responsive and agreeable; we had no need to contact with the site contact while travelling. Would definitely consider a return.

You can’t beat the views at this beautifully decorated condo. The many windows offer welcome breezes from the trade winds - we only had to run the AC once. The beds are very comfortable as is the living room and deck furniture. All amenities are included in the unit as well as all the beach equipment we needed. The condo grounds are very well maintained and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Barb, the owner, was incredibly accommodating and great to communicate with. We stayed for two weeks with my family of three and it was perfect! I highly recommend booking with Barb at this unit.

We enjoyed our stay at this condo for the most part. The view was really beautiful, and it was in a quiet area of Maui. It was quite windy there, which was a mixed blessing because the temp. was 32C everyday, so it kept us cool. However, we had to keep the 2 doors of the condo open to get a breeze through to cool off, because the one A/C, located in the living room, was inadequate, so the breeze would blow leaves and dust into the condo. We felt the condo could use a deep cleaning, as others have opened the doors, as well.
At Maalaea Harbour nearby there are some cute shops and restaurants, and the Maui Ocean Centre was impressive to visit. Sugar Beach is quiet and a fabulous place to walk in the "brown sugar" sand! We were disappointed that we could not really see sunsets from this part of Maui, though. All in all, a wonderful place to stay!

Our stay was very pleasant. We saw lots of turtles! Good central location. However… the property managers there are REALLY strict. Terrible place if you have kids. No playing anywhere on the grounds, no inflatables in the pool… there was actually a sign at the pool that said NO MARCO POLO in the pool!!! Had two “violation” notices hung on our door while we were there. (No smoking on the lanai-my husband thought he could sneak in a cigar… one of his guilty pleasures while on vacation… and no hanging towels over the railings on the lanai… I thought if I did it in the darkness of night and take it off before morning… boy was I wrong!!!) It seems that all that they want at this location is old curmudgeons. But… beautiful location, well stocked, and very, very quiet.

Condo was as exactly as the pics and had everything thing we needed for our stay. Best part was watching the sunrise each morning as the view from the balcony was amazing. We also loved that it wasn’t in a big touristy area so it wasn’t overly crowded. Tante’s Fish Market and Hula Cookies were recommended by the owner and would definitely recommend to anyone staying here. Being next to the harbor was also ideal for our early morning snorkeling tour. One of our best vacations ever!

Loved the closet with coolers, pool noodles, coolers, boogie boards and beach towels. We appreciated the tide pods and dish tabs. Pool was so relaxing. Grill very nice! Loved having breakfast on the balcony. Suggest making an aquarium reservation if you want to go, as it was sold out when we were there. Walking distance to the luau at the Maui ocean center and that had excellent food and show. Parking very easy. Elevator and cart for luggage as well. Shower by the pool for sand.

Quiet area, plenty of beach to walk and swim in, condo is beautifully updated and furnished, comfortable beds, kitchen well stocked with pots/pans/gadgets, loved the swim toys/cooler/chairs, adequate washer and dryer as well as dishwasher, great location for traveling around the island. Only issue was the AC which worked well but multiple fans had to be used at all times to move the air to the kitchen and back room/bathroom area.

We had a blast staying at this condo on Maalaea Bay. The resort was quiet and right on the water where we were able to see whales every morning from our balcony. The pool was relaxing, and the beach was only a short, quarter mile walk away. We highly recommend this condo if you’re wanting a relaxing vacation on Maui.

We really enjoyed the stay. We had a major storm blow through on our first full day and the condo felt really secured from the storm. The weather changed back to normal and the sun came out. The location of the condo was central to Kihei and Lahaina. We were able to see whales from the lanai. We really enjoyed the updates to the condo and all the amenities that are provided. Check in and check out was simple. We are sad to have to leave but definitely would rent again in the future.

There is so much to love about Maui and Barb's condo unit in Wailuku/Maalaea is one of the reasons why.
Reservations:
Easy and smooth transaction. We went during the height of the Covid-19 cases in Hawaii in general. Initially, we were thinking of not pushing through with the trip and since this is a non-refundable reservation, Barb was willing to work with our schedule. We ended up going without any changes but I wanted to point out that she was willing to work with her guests.
Check-in:
We were provided with very clear instructions on what to do upon arrival. Please note that if you arrive late in the evening, go to the Office first thing in the morning to get the car pass.
Condo:
Upon arrival we encountered some issues which I immediately addressed to Barb. Windy, the local contact on the island, also called to apologize for what happened.
The condo is a 2 bedroom/2 full bathroom unit. They have everything you need (or at least what we needed): fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, towels, beach towels and linens (we used our own), everything you need to go to the beach such as beach chairs, coolers, body board, beach mat, etc. Note that there is only one a/c in the living room. The bedrooms have electric fans.
Location:
Kana'i A Nalu is in Wailuku/Maalaea area. It's close to any where we want to go: food trucks, farmers market, BEACH!, Costco, Walmart, Kihei --- and not to mention, all of these are less than 15 minutes away from the condo. The unit has an oceanview/beach view is steps away from the beach. It is also situated in a cove so we had breeze all day everyday with winds up to 25 mph.
Barb's condo feels like home. Wish we could stay longer. Wish we lived there!

This property is perfectly situated between Kihei and Lahaina Town. It’s walking distance to the marina that has restaurants and shops. The unit itself is amazing! It has everything you would need and things you would want but are too big to pack and you don’t want to purchase (a variety of beach chairs…even a park n play) beds were very comfortable. Barb was easy to work with and checked in with us mid way through our stay to make sure things were going well. The grounds are literally impeccably maintained. By that I mean as the breezes were blowing, Mike the manager was out there raking the six leaves that had literally JUST fallen off the trees! They clean the grills every morning so they are in perfect condition when you’re ready to cook. The water is literally steps from this unit and the selling point (if you even needed one at this point of this review) is that it’s a straight on view! No craning your neck to see the water So if you sit on the living room chair…you see the ocean. If you’re at the dining table…full view of the ocean. If you choose to cook….straight on ocean all the time. We sat on the lani every evening for two full weeks and you never get tired of watching the beautiful waves and hearing them lull you to sleep. I’ve seen reviews that talk about the only air conditioning being in the main living area. This did not prove problematic at all. Open the front door and back lani door (both are screened ) and the breeze is AMAZING! At night we simply used the fans and open windows. It was perfect (and I am EXTREMELY picky about being cool when I sleep). The ocean is swim able and we saw a turtle and puffer fish. The pool is as well maintained as the grounds and was super refreshing!
Anyway….by now I’m sure this sounds like I am one of Barbs relatives reviewing this condo…I assure you I am not. Our family was just super satisfied with this beautiful, well equipped condo that we made home for the past two weeks! Thanks Barb! It was a wonderful stay!!!

We absolutely loved our stay. The condo was just as described and the pictures were spot on. The complex is in a quiet and easy to get in and out of area. I contacted the owner a couple times with questions and she was extremely prompt in getting back to me. The view was amazing, the pool was perfect for my teens to use when not at the ocean and the access to the ocean was a short walk. We have zero complaints. Absolutely loved our stay and the condo. There was myself, my husband and our 3 teens and we had plenty of room for reffernece.

Condo is located 15 minutes away from Kihei and 20 minutes away from Lahaina. It is situated next to Maalaea Harbor. The area can get windy, but it's a welcome relief from the warm July weather. We saw plenty of turtles in the water close to the beach.
It's a smaller complex so it's not crowded. There are plenty of lounge chairs to use by the beach for sunbathing. The unit itself is fully equipped and comes with plenty of towels. And there's a perfect view of the ocean from the balcony.
We enjoyed our stay and this condo was met all our needs.

This was a first time trip for our family and we were so pleased with our time here! Barbara was always available during the planning process with answers to my questions. This condo was beautiful, spacious and SO convenient for our must see spots like Lahaina, Haleakala and Hana! She provided everything we needed and things we didn’t think to pack like chairs, ice chests, small surf boards, coffee creamer and detergent! I will tell all of my friends about this place and hope to visit again!!!

We had such a wonderful time during our stay. The condo was so well stocked with anything we could have wanted. The central location was great for exploring all parts of the island. The beach right out front was full of turtles and had some really fun paths to explore. Everything around the property was very clean and the other guests were very quiet at night. The only thing I would change is that the pool is not heated. It was icy cold (much colder than the ocean). My kids wanted to do more pool swimming, but after 30 minutes, their lips were turning blue. Overall a great place. We would definitely recommend!

Our stay was made by staying in this condo. There was a lot of chaos amid Covid-19, however, we were able to escape here. The pool was incredible, cooking at BBQ’s while watching the ocean, and watching sunrise over Haleakala made for easy escape. It was a short walk to the harbor for shops and restaurants. We cannot wait to return!

The updates in this condo are beautiful! We love this location! It is so easy to access all parts of the island , right by the beach, and great walking to the Maalaea village . Beautiful view from the lanai. Owner so accommodating! Would rent again!!
