Wonderful space for our week in Maui! The condo was well equipped with all the essentials and more. The terrace looked out onto the pool and ocean. The location next to the harbor made for easy access to the west and south of the island. The south beaches were a short drive, as were the towns for eating and shopping. We will stay here again on our next visit!

We had a great time! Loved the central location and it is very quiet here. Maalaea Bay Harbor has some restaurants and shopping. Almost all of the water tours leave out of that harbor now. I loved laying out watching the boats go in and out of the harbor. The Maui Ocean Center is within walking distance along with the harbor and also putt-putt golf. Tons of turtles eating by all the rocks in front of our place, can just sit and watch them for hours. Had a great time, got to explore the whole island!

Great location for us as our daughter works out of the harbor so it was convenient for us to use her car while she was working. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The view was beautiful and we loved going down to the water to watch the huge turtles.

Had a great stay, view amazing, sea turtles daily in the water. Condo was very nice and bed was comfortable. One thing, did not know pest control needed to come in to condo. If we weren't there they would have been let in by condo maintenance. Not a big deal really but wanted to mention. Overall amazing place and would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay so much! We loved that we could sit outside on the balcony and hear the waves crashing in. We watched sea turtles on the banks in front in the condo. It’s a perfect location to get around on the island. And nicely kept condo. The neighbors are very friendly. We will be back!

My partner and I celebrated our honeymoon/anniversary here and it was the perfect spot. Clean and had everything we needed to stay in and cook or just hang out. The view is just a plus! Oh, and Danny isn’t lying about the bedding, we haven’t slept that well in quite a while. The neighbors are also pretty great, so friendly! Pool was great for night swims and I have to mention the sea turtles that are always hanging around by the water line. This will definitely be our repeat spot when we are able to squeeze in another vacation to Maui! ❤️

We had a great time. Normally we stay up near Kaanapali and we have decided Maalaea Harbor is a wonderful place to stay! Very centrally located and I loved watching the boats go in and out of the harbor all day!!
I also loved watching the planes go overhead. They took a little getting used to (somewhat loud) but by the end of our 10 day trip, we hardly noticed them.
We were very comfortable! The bed is VERY comfy!
Oh, and we saw turtles EVERY DAY from the shoreline!

We had a lovely time in Maui at the Ma'alaea Kai, unit 204. It was a comfortable oceanfront condo, steps away from from both the harbour & its amenities, and very close to a wonderful sandy beach, that was perfect for walking & swimming. We really enjoyed viewing the sea turtles that came in close to shore at the condo, & watching the whale activity out in the bay. It was a very memorable vacation!

Sitting on the lanai watching the sunrise over Haleakala and the whales in the bay begins each morning. The condo was supplied with pots, pans, mixer, coffee brewer, dishes, glasses, towels etc. The dressers and closet easily provided room for our clothing. A couple more hooks in the bathroom, or lanai wall, would facilitate the drying of towels especially to hang the pool towels. The condo grounds are very welcoming where we would sit on a lawn chaise and look out toward the bay and watch the whales; bring binoculars. The pool was refreshing and a lot of fun for our grandchildren, who were staying in another unit. We would swim and play in the pool everyday.
We walked to Maalaea Harbour Shops & Restaurants where the Maui Ocean Center, Pacific Whale Foundation, Hula Cookies & Ice Cream as well as little shops. We enjoyed Happy Hour and dinner at Tante's Fishmarket. A short walk down Hauoli Street to Haycraft Park, will bring you to Sugar Beach, where you can walk for miles.
You can choose to drive to either Kihei or Lahaina being that this condo is located between the two. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Maalaea Kai 204. Mahalo Danny

My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights before heading to the West Coast of the Island. We loved cycling the Road to Hana and the climb up to Haleakala from this central location. The room was clean with an awesome view. Bed was super comfortable and dark. There was a little plane noise but we travel with ear plugs so no problem. It is a very quiet property otherwise with lovely long chairs on the grass out front and a beach just down the road.
Kitchen was very well appointed with everything you could need - lots of dishes, glasses and cookware. We didn't use the bbq outside but it was in a lovely location overlooking the water.
Will definitely stay again next time we're in Maui!

We enjoyed the location. Nicely decorated and furnished unit. We liked that the lanai was shaded most of the day. We saw whales from the lanai, bring binoculars to see well if here in Jan - March. Convenient to get to Kahalui, Haleakala, Road to Hana etc. A few places to eat in immediate area. Fridays are a good day to be out as those noisy leaf blowers are everywhere. Easy walk to 2.5 mile long beach with no developments behind it.

It’s a nice condo. There is a problem with bugs in the kitchen and bathroom that is disconcerting. They need to have an exterminator come in. The condo below us has the same problem.

Many people in this complex seem to live here year round.
The only minus is the location of Maalaea harbor, which is unfortunately directly in the landing path of Kahului airport, so you hear airplanes overhead even during the night.

Our family of 3 stayed at Danny's Ma'alaea condo for a week. The condo was very clean and we found the location to be a perfect base for exploring many parts of the island - only 15 minutes from the airport, stores, and good local food in Kahului and Wailuku, 15 minutes from Kihei, and about 25 minutes from Lahaina. The condo has a great ocean view and we enjoyed walking along the shore in the morning and evening, where sea turtle sightings are common. We are very appreciative of Danny's promptness in responding to our questions, and hope to stay here again!

The condo was as expected. It was well-equipped with everything that was needed including beach towels, and the AC units. Great ocean views from the lanai. There is no beach but enjoyed the morning stroll on the grassy areas. The king size bed was very comfy but the sofa bed was uncomfortable even with the extra padding. Bring your own snorkeling set. If you rent a car, this is a great location to drive anywhere on the island. Overall, it was a great trip and I would stay here again.

The property exactly matched the description provided by the host, Danny Lisa. We found the accommodations comfy, relaxing and conveniently located.
Nightly, we enjoyed our favorite feature of the property, the large seaside lawn area with plenty of lounge chairs and an amazing view of the bay. From our perch above the ocean, we saw sea turtles and black crabs hunting for their dinner.
We also used the excellent gas BBQ to make a delicious meal. It doesn't get better than preparing a meal while overlooking a beautiful ocean and engaging with other friendly vacationers.
The bed linens are absolutely luxurious! The pillows too. We slept so well during our brief stay.
This condo complex is well taken care of and the staff is very friendly and professional.
In closing, I thank Danny for his responsiveness to my inquiries before and during our stay. He deserves his Premier Host status ten fold!

My wife and I vacationed here for our 25th anniversary and the honeymoon we never got to take. This was our first experience in Maui. What an amazing time we had. The condo was centrally located on the island, making it convenient to everything. The condo was awesome. Perfect size for the two of us. Everything described in the condo description is spot on. From the parking lot, this waterfront property doesn't look like much but once you step inside there is a definite "wow" factor. Spotless with just about every luxury and kitchen appliance you could want (except a dishwasher, and we didn't really care about that). The lanai is lovely, gorgeous sunrises and nice, walkable shops and restaurants. We even walked to a whale watching boat trip and saw more whales than we could count! The small local market was closed for renovations when we visited but it was less than a 15-minute drive to a large Safeway Supermarket. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I spent one week here for our first ever visit to Maui, and it was absolutely incredible. The condo itself is clean, comfortable and fully stocked with whatever you might need. The bed is amazing. The view is breathtaking, and the grounds are well kept.
This complex definitely has the largest grassy area right on the ocean. Lots of loungers, tiki torches, a bbq area, and small pool. I love that Ma’alaea is right in the middle of Kihei and Lahaina.

My two friends and I stayed at the Maalaea Kai Condos for about a week, and we really enjoyed our stay! The master bedroom and foam top mattress for the sofa bed were very comfortable, and the AC was a big plus. The bay is absolutely stunning, and if you go in the late afternoon/early evening, you'll be sure to find a couple sea turtles in the waves.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pans and utensils, just be sure to buy cooking oil and whatever food you'd like to eat. We didn't utilize the TV, so I can't speak to that, but the Internet connection was stable. Beach towels, chairs, two coolers, a boogie board, two pool noodles, and snorkeling gear (fins, mask, tube) were provided. The snorkel masks didn't work well for us; I think they needed to be replaced, but Danny (condo owner) is aware of that. You do need to replace paper goods as you use them, so keep that in mind. I would definitely stay here again if I came to Maui; it was such a relaxing and beautiful atmosphere.

Only downside is that if you’re a young traveler, this condo is a bit of a distance from lahaina/other main hang out areas. It’s fine if you have a car though. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

A beautiful condo in a gorgeous setting! Front seats to the stunning ocean show starring humpback whales, Hawaiian green sea turtles, the swaying palm trees and the soothing sound of the waves. The apartment is fully stocked with everything we needed, & we cook. We appreciated the beach chairs and boogie board as they are so hard to travel with, and yet make beach time so much better. The location Is quiet but only a short walk to the beach and shopping. The bed was comfortable, the lanai a nice place to sit, and the kitchen easy to work out of. The time went too fast, & I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

After a snafu at check-in, Danny was fantastic is resolving the issue we had. The pictures are accurate but they do not fully capture the gorgeous views from the condo. The sleep sofa was fine for one or two adults with the additional memory foam pad. We loved the tranquility of the Maalaea Kai and it’s location to the marina, restaurants and shops. We only spent a few nights and wished we could have stayed longer.
Danny is great, he responded to my messages very quickly. If you are thinking about booking this unit-do it fast! Unfortunately, the week we want for 2023 is already booked.

This property was everything we were looking for our stay in Maui. The location was perfect. It’s within walking distance to the aquarium and Harbor, yet it’s peaceful and quiet. The condo had everything we needed it was clean and had two air conditioners and ceiling fans, so we were comfortable the whole time. The bed was very comfortable as well. The Ocean view was absolutely incredible. We could see whales from the balcony and there were turtles at the nearby beach. I unfortunately injured my knee during our trip and was grateful they had elevator access to the apartment and not just stairs. My husband and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The reason I gave it an overall 4: the rattan furniture outdated and uncomfortable to sit on. The bedroom is on the walkway side, so you can easily hear people walking by the unit. ( the last two days there were some loud & foul-mouthed neighbors- but not the fault of the owners). For the most part it is a quiet area with older residents.

Great experience !!!! Born and raised in maui came back from a deployment and wanted to get a place to relax and enjoy with my Ohana. This place took my breath away and also will take yours!!! You can bbq right on the ocean and have you family swimming in the pool right behind you or right there on the lanai watching all the sunsets and boats coming in and out of the harbor. Location is literally central to any place you want to go. Full kitchen so you can cook and bbq with ease. Aquarium right down the road with restaurants
Easy process to check in park and elevators with courtesy carts to help lug all your luggage. Views from your lanai makes everything melt away. Golf course grass around pool and bbq area is breathtaking!!! The master room Bed is soooooo comfy BEST bed I’ve slept on !!!! Resident manager is super helpful and nice. Wifi and cable and ice old AC!!!!!!!WILL STAY AGAIN AND SAME ROOM ALSO!!!! *there is a “karen” in room 112 named Barbra that drinks and think she owns the place but resident manager handle that with no problems !!! 10/10 place to stay !!!

This condo is in the perfect location to get to all parts of the island! Airport is about 20 min. Target and Costco about 13 min. The west and south beaches under 30 min. Start to Road to Hana 25ish min. The Volcano for Sunrise 1.5hrs. We really enjoyed our stay. The unit itself is clean, cozy, and well equipped. Book it!

We spent the entire month of October at this lovely condo. It was clean, well maintained and equipped with anything that you may need during your stay. The king size bed was very comfortable and that was a huge plus for me! The view from the lanai overlooks the ocean and pool. I enjoyed my morning coffee while listening to the surf. The bedroom and living area both have air conditioners although I loved having the slider door open to feel the ocean breeze! Maa’laea is centrally located and we were out exploring every day. We were visiting family in Kahului and this was a short drive from the condo. We had beautiful weather all month without a drop of rain. Every day was a beach day and we visited many. We drove to Hana twice and swam in the waterfalls and black sand beach. Sunset on Haleakala was a nice trip but freezing cold! Kanaha Beach was great and entertaining with all of the kite surfers, lots of shade. We spent many days at Launiupoko beach park in Lahaina. An easy commute from the condo and it’s a great spot for beginner surfers. There is also a shallow lagoon that was perfect for my baby granddaughter.
My only complaint is how quickly the time passed by! A month seemed like such a long time yet it was gone in a heartbeat.
My host, Danny, could not have been any nicer or responsive!!
If you are planning a Maui vacation I would highly recommend this condo!

We didn't find any sugar or tea, and not enough oil or detergent. We had to buy it and everything is very expensive in Maui. Other than that, everything was great!

Our first trip to Maui was memorable and a big reason for that was our decision to stay at Danny's little heaven in Maalaea... The 1BR/1BA condo was perfect for our family... It had everything we needed to make it our vacation home during our stay in this beautiful island... All the amenities/features listed were all available for use which made our trips to beaches even more fun!! The condo is nicely located in the central Maui area which was very helpful for our trips to Haleakala Sunrise and Road to Hana tours... My daughter and I extended the family trip to Maui by a few days. This condo allowed us to explore a different part of the island. The condo offers a beautiful outdoor space to read and enjoy the waves. The beach is rocky so it didn’t allow for swimming but we did see turtles on the rocks. Condo was well stocked with everyday essentials and beach gear.

Condo is nice and clean, ocean view was a plus but area is not the best. Traffic and noise from the marina can keep you up at night and again early in the AM. Windows directly behind the bed do not do much to help with the noise control. Overall good and for the vacationer a great place. I was traveling for work and needed to get some sleep.

Danny Lisa's has an excellent view, is tastefully decorated, well stocked, and the A/C is a plus! Danny was very responsive to an issue we had. And the Maaleaea area is perfect for us. Very quiet, centrally located on Maui, and the proximity to the ocean is unsurpassed. You may need car to get around as it is not close to shopping or many activities. It is close to the bus stop and a $2 fare to anywhere could get you around. We loved it here!

Location was ideal with everything you need. Comfortable bed. Only shortfall was we felt carpet could be cleaned and the bbq's need some tlc as they don't light well. Really enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed at this condo last September for 5 days and it was THE best! We traveled with our 4-year-old and 2-year-old and the the location is just perfect. It is just steps to the Maui Ocean Center where we bought a one-week pass. It is a perfect central location as it is also just 5 minutes drive to Kihei, and 15 minutes to Costco. It is also a HUGE plus to see the sunrise and sunset everyday. The 2nd week of our vacay, we stayed at the Ka'anapali Ocean villas but we enjoyed our stay here better. We'll definitely book here again next time. Lastly, the owner was also very easy to work with and responded to my messages instantly:)

My wife and I spent 6 weeks at this property. We were very pleased with all aspects of the place. The location was great and we enjoyed the long beach walks with whales and turtles seen off the shore. The condo is very well equipped and the owner was very receptive and helpful. Great location and beautiful view! We have 2 teenage boys and the sofa sleeper was probably not the best sleeping arrangement, but one slept on the floor and we got along fine. The owner has a boogey board you can use and plenty of towels. We never cooked in, but it has a nice kitchen if you want to. LOVED the view from the balcony. Would highly recommend staying here.

This was my wife's and my first visit to Hawaii, and we could not have been happier with where we chose to stay. The Island Sanctuary is the perfect place to stay for visiting Maui!
Great location - the condo, in Maalaea, is very conveniently located and is only a short drive from most places on the island. There's a long (4 miles?) sandy beach starting just a couple buildings away that we loved walking in the mornings and relaxing on some afternoons. There are a couple great restaurants within a block's walk. Several beaches, towns, shopping, restaurants, resorts, golfing, the airport, etc within 15-minute or less drive. And best of all, the town/village is small, peaceful, and quiet - the perfect place to return to after a day out. The condo's balcony faces the morning sunrise - there's no better way to wake up than drinking your coffee while watching the sun rise over the palm trees and ocean!
In addition to a great location, the condo was well furnished, super clean, and had everything we could possibly have needed for our trip. We felt like we were staying in a home rather than a hotel, and it is very cozy and comfortable. The bed/bedding was super comfortable - I slept like a baby! Lawn chairs on the grassy lawn by the ocean (with sea turtles often hanging out right off the shore) and a pool facing the ocean. The owners have beach towels, pool towels, a cooler and beach chairs for your trips to the beaches, snorkel gear,....you name it. The kitchen has all the utensils and such you'd need. We saved lots of money by stocking up on groceries and enjoying breakfasts in the condo during sunrise. The condo also has cable and wi-fi and really good air conditioning. And the owners and management are great - no issues there!
The Island Sanctuary is the perfect place to stay on Maui. If I ever make it back to the island, I know where I will be staying again! I Highly, highly recommend anyone heading to Maui to stay at Island Sanctuary - you won't regret it!

Fantastic location, convenient to most of the island. Beautiful, quiet, comfortable space with a balcony facing Maalaea Bay- what a view! Thoroughly enjoyed staying there. The property manager and owner were always very helpful.
Got a chance to watch the surfers from the balcony; easy drive to go snorkeling, go to the many beaches, go out to eat, go golfing. I highly recommend this rental!
