We enjoyed our week staying at this condo which had a comfy Murphy bed for our son. The view from all parts of the condo was beautiful. Could watch the waves on the beach and a few surfers. Our host was very responsive to our questions and the condo was very clean and even had beach chairs we could use on the beach. It’s a very short walk to the Whalers Village where we could shop and eat at a variety of restaurants on the beach. Swimming in the ocean was amazing and was invitingly warm. We loved our week here and hope to return again next year. Aloha and Mahalo! 🏝️🍍

Condo features great views and a central location near the Whalers village with places to eat and shop. Condo interior is a bit dated but so are most of the units in the building (why invest on a lot of new interior to rent out?). Beds we’re comfortable and kitchen was nicely appointed with plenty of dishes and pans to cook with. Wake up every morning to the ocean views and people diving off the black rocks! We had a great stay.

My family of 5 was fortunate to be able to enjoy a Maui vacation in a condo that has the most amazing view and sounds of crashing waves. The location was perfect for shopping and dining, snorkeling, and cliff jumping. Communication was great and the property manager was friendly and quick to respond when I had questions. Although the laundry room is shared with 1 washer/dryer per floor and not within the condo itself, I found throughout the week that it was almost always available when I needed it. The condo had clean sheets, towels, bath mats, and almost everything we needed in the kitchen. Because I love DIY projects and am handy, I did have an urge to offer to update wallpaper and paint and fix some things that are showing age, including the carpet, but the price we paid to stay in that location and in comfort was very fair. We enjoyed the gym, pool and hot tub, pickleball court, corn hole on the lawn. The shopping carts in the garage for use to bring groceries up were very convenient. I loved the trash chute on our floor and wish I had one in my own home that led straight to the trash cans! If we return to Maui, we will for sure look to see if this condo is available again. We had an absolutely wonderful time staying here! This was our third stay at Aston at the Whaler, and this unit had the best views we’ve experienced. Everything in the unit was clean and in good working order, plenty of supplies in the kitchen and bathrooms for our 10 night stay, and great little “extras” available for us to use such as the boogie boards and a cooler bag.
We had one request at the end of our stay and Carla the property manager responded immediately and was so helpful!
The unit had a new couch which was super comfortable, and our family of 4 thought both the king-sized master bed and the murphy bed were very comfortable.
We’ll absolutely plan to come back and stay in this unit again for our next visit!

This was our 2nd trip to Maui, married on Makena 16 years ago! This property at The Whaler has views that dreams are made of! Fantastic 9th floor view of Black Rock, the soothing sounds of the surf and immaculate grounds! We had plenty of room for 5 and certainly plan to come back. Very attentive staff. Fantastic primo beach and all amenities. Location to shopping and restaurants was ultra convenient too!

My wife and I have stayed at several properties within the Whaler. We usually stay oceanfront, but wanted to try a property that provided shade on the patio. Facing the sun can be a bit hot all day and the only usable time on the patio is morning or after sunset. The amazing views of the ocean and Blackrock from this property are absolutely gorgeous and being able to eat lunch on the patio without the sun beating down on us was great. The property is as advertised, being in need of a little upgrades with the wallpaper and master bath tub fixtures. The kitchen appears to be recently upgraded and is very nice. Everything was clean and we felt comfortable wherever we were inside the condo. A bar height table and chairs would be a good add to the patio furniture. We would absolutely stay at this condo again. The Whaler grounds are stunning and staff is very friendly.

Perfect location, gorgeous view. Wrote an email to the property manager our first night and they responded very quickly. The unit itself is a bit dated and could use a few maintenance type things. The key to the safe is missing, the chairs are comfy but very loud and squeaky, one of the closet doors was off track but the unit was clean and cozy. We had a blast. Would definitely stay again.

This condo is in the perfect location and has a lot of room with a stunning view. Snorkeling and sunset sail adventures available right from the beach front. We had an amazing time and look forward to future visits!

What a wonderful place to stay while visiting Kaanapali Beach! The views are wonderful and the location is perfect. The condo is in need of an update, but the owners reflect this in their pricing, which makes it an affordable place to stay in a 5-star location. The owners are wonderful and very responsive to any questions or needs. Our family had a fantastic vacation here and would definitely come back!

The condo had a great view of the beach! We loved the location and the condo was spacious for being a one bedroom. We were quite disappointed with the cleanliness and upkeep of the condo. We also did not have sheets for the extra bed, so we called the cleaning staff to obtain sheets for the extra bed. We received the sheets the next day. Regardless, we did have an enjoyable time.

We were underwhelmed by the condition of this condo. Carpet was stained and house cleaner confirmed she was not asked to clean the carpet. The bathroom light fixture had dead bugs inside. The kitchen throw rug was filthy and wallpaper is peelings from the walls. There were no beach chairs or umbrella for the beach but there was a “camping” chair. The leather sofa was torn. We spoke to the property manager who was aware that there were problems and she said she would call the owner and call us back the next day. We never heard back from anyone. I purchased cleaning supplies and did a cleaning myself. The pictures do NOT match the condition of this unit. We have stayed at the Whaler 3 other times and never had I expected this unit to be so run down.

We’ve previously stayed at several units at The Whaler. This unit (#960) has absolutely amazing views of Kaanapali beach, Black Rock, and the beautiful park-like setting of The Whaler common area. This is an older unit and hasn’t been remodeled in some time, but that was fairly apparent based on the listing photos so we were not surprised. That said, the cleanliness of the unit was lacking and it would benefit from a deep cleaning.
Overall we had a great stay and we would stay in this specific unit again, the location, views, and general amenities of The Whaler are excellent.

The condo at The Whaler was amazing! You cannot find a more convenient location with easy short walk to Whaler’s Village, as well as Ka’anapali Beach and Black Rock. The Whaler has a very nice pool/hot tub. We had a rental car and found ample parking and a short drive into Lahaina. The 1BR/2 BA condo had a Master with king bed, a queen size murphy bed, full kitchen with all necessary cookware/utensils. This was especially important as I was traveling with 2 kids under 12. There were 2 TVs but we never turned them on. The wifi worked well. In summary, we would absolutely love to come back and recommend this property without any reservation.

This adjoining unit has great views of the ocean and mountains from its large lanai. The beach is steps away from the property which was really convenient for the kids. Overall location in the Kaanapali resort area and next door to Whalers Village was also very convenient. Could have used a couple more things in the kitchen for guest who would be cooking some meals. Overall great place.

My family enjoyed this property during our stay, it was delightful. The view from the balcony is breathtaking, I could just sit there the whole day enjoying Kaanapali's beautiful beach. Then Whalers Village and other resort restaurants are within walking distance. Lastly, I sent a question/guidance request during our stay to the owner/property manager and received a prompt response. Overall, we will be back!!!
