All of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s in a quiet residential area with fruit trees on the property and neighboring goats. The home was spacious, well stocked and very clean. We had everything we needed at our disposal and more. The owner was extremely responsive to any of our requests, both pre-trip and during our stay. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Maui, that makes you feel right at home, this is it. Highly recommended! As a sidenote, garbage pick up occurs twice a week, but not recycling. We saved our items and took them to the redemption center, which is just three blocks away.

Chose location because of friends living nearby but found that the location, even though not in a major city, was central to all the things we wanted to do. Was quiet and peaceful yet close to good food and activities. The house was beautiful and everything was first rate from kitchen appliances and tableware, to large screen TV. Everything that we needed was there. We were unable to use the jacuzzi bathtub because we felt guilty because of the water shortage. Not having inside access to the downstairs was a little inconvenient but not a major problem. Being a short-legged oriental, it was not easy for me to get on the bed in the master bedroom (had this problem in other rentals); the kitchen stool was a little too high to use to get on the bed. No clothes closet in the master bedroom could be a problem for people with clothes that wrinkle requiring pressing while on vacation. I have mostly wrinkle-free clothes, so it did not really affect me, the hooks and suitcase racks were sufficient for me. The 3 washers and dryers make doing laundry a breeze in spite of having to go outside to get to the garage.
Our whole group thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views of the sunset from the patio were picture-perfect. The fruit trees in the yard provided some fruits even though some were not in season. I wish the breadfruits were ready because I would have loved to bake it.

Beings all of us are from the farm & we all like cooler weather, this place was ideal for us. We loved the spaciousness of the house & the two acres. We loved watching the goats & hearing the roosters. There were 7 in our party. I highly recommend this place.

To celebrate a milestone birthday we gathered with family and friends at this wonderful home in Makawao. What a great choice we made! The home was comfortable, clean and well furnished with kitchen essentials including a wide assortment of spices and every utensil and dish that anyone could need! It was great to have friends stay downstairs instead of at another location but we had our own living space too. We loved hanging out on the lanai (but it could have used a couple of extra chairs! LOL) and watching the neighbors goats, chickens and cows as well as the beautiful Hawaiian sky. It was quiet and away from the hustle and bustle, yet a short drive to town.
The laundry facilities were fantastic with 3 sets of washers and dryers. We brought our own laundry soap but there was plenty to use there so we left ours there for the next guests.
The extra fridge downstairs, the beach chairs and equipment were an added bonus, it was nice to have an outside shower to rinse off sand from the beach.
Overall, it was a really great experience and we would stay there again as we truly felt at home.
The ONLY drawback were the bathroom towels as we could have used extra wash cloths, hand towels, etc as we only had one per person for our entire stay. Other than that, no complaints!

LOVED our stay! Would definitely come back! We’re family of 8, with 6 adults and 2 kids (12 & 14). Kitchen was perfect, every spice, cooking utensil and pot/pan you could need! Wonderful dinning table that seats 8 comfortably for meals and games. Comfy living room furniture and huge TV. Great views from every window. Especially loved the covered deck, peaceful to relax and read a book or have morning coffee. As well as the garage, nice to have a wind block and the two picnic tables provided more than enough space for fun outside meals and games. And 3 sets of washers/dryers – amazing!! Appreciated the nice touch of shampoo, conditioner and bodywash in all the bathrooms. As others have mentioned, numerous beach necessities: umbrellas, chairs, towels, etc. Tasey was incredibly responsive and wonderful to work with!!! Great location for Road to Hana, Haleakala and all Northshore activities. Makawao is an adorable town with fun shops and restaurants. And only 15 minutes to Paia. We even drove to Big Beach, south of Wailea, twice. All the conveniences you could dream of!!! Highly recommend!!! Mahalo Tasey for your kindness!

The house was better in person. Everything was clean and entry was a breeze. Updated pictures are needed online. House is grey and all tvs are flat screens. Me and my Ohana had a great stay while we were in Maui to attend a graduation luau. The children loved the cows in the morning and bathing in the master bedroom tub at night. The kitchen was stocked with spices, oil, coffee and condiments. Our favorite place was the garage with the picnic tables, bbq, fridge and bathroom. The temperature was perfect in makawao and the house suited us all, while separating us when we wanted to rest. We took group pics in the yard to remember our stay. I hope to return soon. Will definitely return to Ocean vodka distillery in kula to enjoy the views, good drinks and ono food!

Maui One is a gorgeous house that is stocked full of everything you could possibly need - from kitchen items (the usual stuff plus blenders, rice cooker, spices, all sorts of tableware) to beach supplies, coolers, new washing machines with all sorts of soaps. I can't think of one thing that we needed that wasn't at the house. It was extremely clean as well. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunset. Definitely recommend!

No need to repeat all the specific positives from the prior reviews -- to summarize the property is just outstanding in every way.
This will be our go-to rental for future trips to Maui.
A couple tips for those interested in hiking Maui:
1) If you plan to do the Pipiwai Trail, take the back road to Hana (not the road that starts in Paia.) This route is shorter and more scenic and not as relentless of a drive. Yes, there are warnings that you need a four wheel drive vehicle to traverse some rough spots. Not true - in our minivan we followed a Kia Soul and Mustang convertible across the roughest parts, no problem.
2) If you wake up early one morning and the West Maui Mountains are totally clear of clouds, head over there ASAP to enjoy the Waihee Ridge Trail - the clouds roll in steadily over the remainder of the day.

This was a perfect place for us to stay. It is upcountry which is much cooler than Kihei and Lahaina, for instance. It was nice to just relax and watch the neighbor's cows and goats. There is a nearby dog park and school neither of which disturb the quiet qnd peaceful nature of this property. Everything was as described and shown, and everything worked exactly as the owner said it should. There are nearby gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants as well. THE BEDS! We were SO happy with how comfortable the beds were! The photos don't do this place justice! Waking up to beautiful views, chickens, goats and cows (at the neighbors) was a treat. There was TONS of room and was very comfortable. Having a variety of spices for cooking at "home" was great! It was a convenient central location to stay if you are looking to travel the whole island. We were very happy with the time spent here!

Great house with plenty of room / space. We had 4 couples staying and there was plenty of room for all of us. The views were amazing. Several washing machines / dryers for large group. Plenty of condiments in the house so you don't have to buy extra. If you are looking for a place with ocean views or walkable to the beach, this is not the place, however its upcountry and very peaceful and beautiful. The communication with the owner was very easy and they were quick to respond with any questions. We very much enjoyed our stay here

We had a truly wonderful Hawaiian getaway in Makawao and felt so comfortable here during our three week stay. The central location was the perfect jumping point for adventures, and the quiet, spacious property served as a welcoming haven at the end of our busy days. There was no shortage of space for our family and friends, and the home was thoughtfully equipped with kids in mind. We especially appreciated the large kitchen, open living space for the kids to play, and all the beach gear. We loved star gazing at night from the private driveway - the kids had a blast finding fruit trees around the property and watching the goats play in the nearby farm. Would highly recommend this beautiful home for a family getaway and we would love to stay again.

We had a family trip here and it was so, unbelievably peaceful!! The amenities from the in the kitchen (spices, coffee, all the tools, etc) and the grill to the multiple bathrooms, games, outdoor space…it was perfect for our family! We had a 1.5 year old and a 3 year old and there were lots of options for them from beach toys to playing outside the house to kid friendly kitchen utensils. It was so peaceful and still allowed for enough space so that we could truly enjoy our time, together and alone. Would stay again!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We always look for a home similar to this one . It was absolutely perfect . One family or two families this is perfect for you with separate facilty downstairs . The main house still has plenary of room for us 10 to cook eat and relax . Very relaxing home with great view . The amenities were astounding . We had everything availble to us for our daily trip- Ice chest/ snorkeling gear , water shoes , umbrellas . This is our sixth time to Maui. We have never stayed on this side of the island before. The house is in a rural area with goats and cows nearby. Upon our arrival, I calf walked up to us, on the other side of the picket fence, and licked us. What a special greeting!
The home is very spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. This was the second place that we stayed in on this trip and this home blew the other out of the water! It surpassed our expectations. All the spices and seasonings were so appreciated. Extra paper towels, plenty of toilet paper, laundry detergent and the Kona coffee made our stay even sweeter! We were a family of six adults and one 15 month old. We have no complaints and hope to be back on our next visit to our favorite Hawaiian island.

Tasey was fantastic in all aspects of this rental. Communication was excellent and she answered questions extremely fast and offered advice when requested. The property itself is spectacular - a true home from home. We loved the 2 levels and were able to put the adult kids downstairs while the older adults enjoyed the lanai with a coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at sunset. The views are spectacular and its just SO peaceful. The fruit trees were an added bonus and having all the things we needed for the beach days was great. Excellent amenities inside the property also. Only 20 minutes from the airport / beaches and some great restaurants only a mile away - we particularly loved Casanova the Italian restaurant. Just beautiful - we will be back for sure!!

This house was very clean and well stocked with just about everything needed. This is a split house so there isn’t any direct access to lower level but it wasn’t a problem for our family. Lower level does not have central air but fans that will cool the rooms. They are a bit loud but do the job. One of the queen beds downstairs really needs to be replaced or at least flipped as one side is very worn. Multiple washers and dryers are great for everyone to get laundry done quickly. We enjoyed sitting on the covered patio in the morning watching the goats, cows and birds. Chickens and roasters will wake you up early at first but after a few days we got use to them and they didn’t wake us up. Plenty of fruit trees on the property and landscape is well taken care of. We all enjoyed our stay here!

We loved our stay in this beautiful home for 4 nights. My husband and I, our 35 year old daughter, and my 88 year old father enjoyed the peacefulness of this space and the surrounding community. We enjoyed our coffee on the lanai in the morning and our wine or sparkling waters in the evening. Watching the goats play in the field next door was thoroughly enjoyable. We were completely comfortable, each in our own bedrooms with three full bathrooms for the four of us. Plenty of space for us to spread out and have some privacy. We will definitely book again on our next trip to Maui!

This was a nice central location for all the things our group wanted to do in Maui. It was nice to have a fully equipped home with everything we needed. The keypad entry code was a great touch so you didn't have to worry about carrying keys. And the serenity of the property really created a relaxed vibe. We really enjoyed our stay, the property is beautiful and spacious, great for the kids to run around and play. There were lots of fruit trees on the property too, so that was a fun plus! Great sunsets from the porch. The upstairs is updated and has great AC, the downstairs is a little more dated and the AC is window units - they work, but it was a little warm, and the units are loud. It wasn’t a big deal to us, it was nice to have the two separate living spaces. We would definitely return!
Also, they have a bunch of snorkeling and beach gear in covered garage area that was great to use!

I stayed at this property with a group of five family members recently, and the photographs don't do this home justice. It is pristine, quiet, lush, and homey. The home was immaculately clean at our arrival and tastefully decorated. The upstairs living space really felt like home. The open floor plan really encouraged some fun times cooking and dining together as a family. The kitchen was well stocked. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. The upstairs bathroom was huge - and the jacuzzi tub was amazing. The downstairs living area was also wonderful. The open carport area was well equipped with grills, (both gas and charcoal!) TONS of beach items, and three sets of washers and dryers! The property itself was incredible - there were tons of fruit to pick from the various trees - grapefruit, lemons, limes, avocados, mangos, and bananas! There were also tons of beautiful flowers all around the property to enjoy. The goats and cows in the neighbor's lawn were so entertaining and cute! The family spent most of our time on the balcony - with its breathtaking ocean views, it was hard to stay indoors. We couldn't have asked for anything better for our Maui stay. It was tucked away and quiet, but still not far from all the tourist attractions that Maui has to offer. If you want a truly relaxing Maui vacation, definitely stay here! The property was perfect for us during our stay. Tasey was very responsive and very thorough directions. We were attending a wedding in Kula so this was just a short drive away, but it is only a 20 minute drive to the airport as well. Makawao is a neat little town with shops, a general store, a Mexican restaurant. House was huge and nicely decorated. Every TV had a DVD player, Fire Stick and Direct TV. Plenty of room and basically everything you need. Bring your own food and drink and you are set. Great golf course a few miles away - Pukalani CC we played. Will book again if we visit the new inlaws.

We felt right at home and had such a great time! It was such a relaxing place to come home to after a day of sightseeing and exploring. We loved the porch and our kids enjoyed playing in the large yard where they could pick fruit and feed the cows and goats. Magical experience for them! It was so pleasant to sit on the lanai in the morning at breakfast, or at the end of the day, and watch the goats and cows at the neighboring farm.
We were very happy with our choice and would gladly return.

Tasey was wonderful as she answer our call or text anytime we needed something or had issue. The house is very spacious and can easily accommodates a large or multi family group. We felt very secure and comfortable. There is multiple fruit trees we can pick. My family loved it so much that if we come back to Maui, we would definitely stay here again.

Our family of 8 were completely satisfied with our stay In Makawao at the big blue house. The home and it's layout and amenities were so enjoyable. It was a great place to hang out between our jaunts out for sight seeing, eating out, beach, etc. Tasey, the owner, was very accommodating on the very minor glitches that occurred. The location is central to many Maui attractions. The property is beautiful and relaxing. The home is spacious and functional for a crowd. Personally, I would much prefer this mountain location to any beach front situation. Highly recommended.

Our weekend with our family was amazing and surpassed any of our expectations! The house was equipped with everything from pots and pans and salt and pepper to washers and dryers and a cooler for the beach. We couldn't be more thankful that we found this house for our big family. The kids loved the goats and cows and the big yard they could run around. Thank you very much!!!

A group of 8 adults came to Hawaii to celebrate my hubbies 50th birthday. The house was perfect. Enough space for all of us. It was close to everything. The cows and goats behind us were a welcomed treat. Highly recommend.

Our family was in Maui for our daughter's wedding in Pukalani. This house was the perfect setting for our family: parents; brother, wife & son; aunt, and uncle. We loved sitting out in the yard or on the lanai watching the playful goats and grazing cattle. The kitchen was amply equipped with every tool we needed. The spa bathtub was appreciated by those of us who went on strenuous day hikes and was fun for our 4 year old grandson. The separate downstairs entrance allowed for additional privacy among family members, yet had convenient access to the main house via the stairway to the lanai. We were impressed and grateful for the 2 huge capacity washers and 3 dryers which allowed us to keep everything clean without having to wait for another person to finish. Tasey was great about answering any questions I had and doing it quickly.
A few suggestions I would make:
-We would have appreciated some more bath towels, and not every room had beach towels.
-There were only 2 kitchen towels that we could find, which really wasn't enough for the continual preparation of meals for 8 people.
-The downstairs did have a refrigerator, but a microwave would be of great help for warming up a morning cup of tea or coffee or preparing some evening popcorn for the guests who did not want to bother the upstairs folks.
All in all we had a great time and were delighted with the accommodations!

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. We had the whole house including the ground floor apartment and did not find anything lacking. We appreciated that all the little necessities were provided (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, washing detergent etc.) as these are often left out. We had more than enough beach equipment (boogie boards, umbrella, chairs) and the kitchen was well stocked. The house was cozy, clean and had more than enough room for 6 of us plus 2 babies. We appreciated being a little farther removed from the busyness of Kihei but close enough that it only took about half an hour to get down to the south side. The owner was very accommodating of our needs and was a pleasure to deal with, despite all the questions we had. We 100% would stay here again. Mahalo!
