We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in November. Everything was perfect. The condo was exactly as described. The winds off thep water were so nice we didn't even need the airconitioning, and it was 83 degrees most days.
Communication with the owner was seamless. We walked to small shops and to a snorkling adventure. We met some very nice neighbors who made us feel right at home. We went on a rappeling trip and a hike thru the bamboo forest to swim in waterfalls. We went golfing. Everything we did was within 15 mins of this wonderful condo. Our bucket list is complete thanks to being able to stay at this awesome condo!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. Our first night we met really nice neighbors who gave us a list of must sees. We booked a snorkel trip prior to our stay and it was within walking distance. We also walked to the aquarium, market and food trucks. The location is fantastic! We had a great time!!

When we arrived, we were impressed by the condo being so comfortable and well thought out. Super well organized and well kept. Breakfast on the lanai is spectacular and memorable, as Ma’alaea Bay and Haleakala are directly in front. Everything was as promised and when we return to Maui, this will be the first condo we check for availability.

Barbara’s place was a perfect location for our stay. We are a retired couple who likes to hike and explore the island. The condo was clean, beautifully decorated and the view is sublime. Our favorite thing was drinking coffee on the back lanai overlooking the bay/ocean with Haleakala looming in the distance. We also enjoyed sitting on the chaise loungers and watching the numerous turtles feeding out on the reef. Another great turtle watching area is along the sea wall at Maalaea wharf just past Buzz’s Whatf. We also enjoyed watching the geckos, lizards and birds from the lanai. Maalaea Harbor is approximately 25 minutes from the airport, Lahaina and Kihei. We enjoyed drives all around the island from this central location. The Maalaea General store has a great breakfast. We rented a full sized SUV. Head’s up, the parking spots in the condo parking lot are narrow. It was not a problem however as there was ample parking on the street. This area felt safe. There is a sea wall with rocks in front of the condo, but it is a short easy walk to a Sandy beach at the end of Houli Road. We loved our stay and if we come back to Maui we would love to stay here again. If you don’t need the glitz of a high end stay, this is your place!

This rental is one of the most organized and well equipped I’ve ever seen. You have everything you need for your beach vacation . The location is perfect to go anywhere around the island. Walk-in distance to a nice beach. You can have your morning coffee watching whales in front of the condo. Super clean and quiet. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I spent a week on vacation here, and it was a perfect set up. Communication with the owner was smooth, and the condo was very clean, well-maintained, and had all appropriate supplies on hand. Location is wonderful, first floor and right on the water, and one afternoon that I was literally watching humpback whales surface in the bay, while laying on the couch. It’s a good central location for access to the north, east and west sides of the island as well, and we had a parking space right in front of the building throughout the stay. We would love to stay here again in the future, and highly recommend to anyone considering this sort of vacation.

If you're looking for a luxurious ocean front condo, this is the place for you! We are frequent travelers to Maui, however this was our first stay at Barbara's condo.
The ocean waves can be heard the moment you walk onto the lanai, and the constant breeze keeps you cool on those warm, sunny days. This ground unit is beautifully renovated and just steps from the pool and BBQ grills. Morning coffee is a must from the lanai, as you'll have a breathtaking view of the ocean and sunrise over Haleakala! I've never seen a condo as generously stocked as this one. Everything you need for a road trip, or a day at the beach.
It's situated at the Ma'alaea Harbor making it so convenient to catch an early morning snorkle trip, and the central location makes it easy to maneuvere around the island. It was a phenomenal place to spend our holiday!
Thank you Barbara for sharing your island home with us! We'd definitely loved being your guests again.

This was a fantastic place to stay. Lovely ground floor unit right by the pool. I had my morning coffee outside every day…just looking out at the ocean. Best equipped VRBO I have stayed in! It is very quiet…never had to fight for a chair at the pool! It is easy to get to wherever you want to go.The aquarium is a must. The Seascape restaurant is pretty good…great mai tais for $6. I would definitely stay here again

Barbara was an excellent condo host, with easy communication and quick response. The unit was exceptionally clean upon our arrival and just as described. The extra wood decor gave it our appreciated Hawaiian flare. This was the best-stocked condo we have ever rented.The first-floor location and large grassy area just off the patio which led directly to the ocean is beautiful. Every day we could see whales, sail boats, and a majestic mountain. This is not a party atmosphere but a quiet location. No doubt, our future Hawaii plans will include this condo.

It was amazing waking up every morning looking out seeing the ocean. On two occasions we saw humpback whales while sitting on the balcony. The condo is beautifully decorated. It was exactly as advertised, i.e., well stocked with everyday items, beach chairs, beach towels, etc. Barbara provided excellent communication. We definitely would stay here again!

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Barbara's condo. The view straight on the ocean from the kitchen/living room is absolutely wonderful. We really enjoyed the fact that the condo was on the ground floor so that we could simply walk out from the back door in the living room and be a few meters from the sea and its turtles. The condo itself is fantastic; clean, charming, and very well equipped. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. I can't find a single negative thing to say about this place. Would return in a heartbeat.

condo is clean and well furnished. pictures on VRBO are exactly as it is. Views outside living room are fantastic. Beach and beach park that are very close are beautiful and can be walked to or driven to, beach and beach park are nice for sitting, swimming, and walking. The beaches of Kihei and Wailea are better and need to be seen, but still, enjoy some time at the beaches nearby Haycraft park, especially for walking. The pool, and yard area are nice, clean, and very calm.
The condo was very quiet, while sleeping, with A/C on, we were never woken up by any noise. There are A/C units in bedroom and living room which work very well and are easy to use.
This condo is pretty small, however. Move then two people don't seem to be allowed, and that is a good thing. It was perfect sized for two, but is small. The pictures are accurate.
a designated parking spot may not be available, if not, you park very close, but across the street out front. We did not have parking, but across the street was not a problem at all for us.
The lanai has a sun screen that would have been nice, but currently was not working. The sun on the lanai was pretty bright, so we used the common lanai that is right next door for eating outside in shade and trade winds. We chose the ground floor for this trip so that we could just walk right out into the poor/yard area. This can be nice and relaxing, especially at night or in the morning, consider if you prefer this or upper floor. No one watches TV while on vacation in Maui, but if you do, the TV which works well and is big and new only seemed to have cable, no netflix (etc...) Owner was very nice, helpful and quick to reply to questions. Bottom line - had a great week, and this condo facilitated it nicely.

From our check in to check out, we enjoyed our stay. The condo is well stocked with any supplies you may need. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were plenty of extra pillows. We loved having the pool steps from the back door. It was so incredible watching sunrises while drinking our morning coffee.
I needed to contact Barbara on 2 separate occasions, and she responded very quickly and provided immediate service required for one issue.

Perfect spot! The condo was exactly as listed! The location was great, within walking distance to a beach with miles of space for walking, as well as several good restaurants. Mornings were so relaxing on the beautiful lanai, and just walk a few extra steps and watch the turtles in the surf! Relaxing, quiet, comfortable, and well appointed. Would for sure stay here again! I can’t say enough good things about this condo! The ground floor location is perfect. You open the curtain and you’re greeted with an incredible view of the beautiful blue ocean with the island mountains in the background. Walk out onto the large patio and you see that the very clean pool is just steps away. As are the two large gas bbq grills. The grounds are immaculate and staff seems to be cleaning continuously. The pictures of the inside of the condo don’t do it justice. It’s large enough for two to enjoy very comfortably, clean, air conditioned, and very well equipped, with abundant supplies like trash bags, TP, towels, etc. We couldn’t have been happier with our time here and cannot recommend this condo highly enough. Great value!

Pros: Views are great and you are right on the water!! Very easy walk out from the condo to the shoreline since you're on the 1st floor and have easy access to the grill. For a large-ish condo, the building was quiet. Well-provisioned unit (or cluttered some might say, but tastes can vary in that regard). Bed was super comfortable.
Cons: Location is not the best. You are a close drive to many places but really nothing right there that's particularly interesting, unless harbors are your thing. No roads or streets or paths that are good for any long walks. A couple of restaurants at the harbor but only go there if you don't want to take a drive to better places. Plus you should know this building does not have a sand beach right in front. You have to walk down a rather unattractive road about 10 minutes to a beach and that beach is marginal compared to most other beaches on Maui. Finally, FYI if you happen to run the A/C you can't really be sitting on the lanai since the condenser unit is located there and hot air is blowing out to the table where you'd be sitting--so you'll need to turn off the A/C if you want to sit on the lanai (which is what you want to do since the views are great there).

This is the 2nd time we have rented this condo and it’s as amazing as it was in 2013. We love this location, makes it easy to access all areas of the island without driving too far. The bed is super comfy, and the a/c works great. Turtles and surfers right outside the lanai. Trade winds market a couple condos down and restaurants a short walk down in the harbor. We will stay again.

This unit is well appointed and clean. It’s the perfect location between Kihei and Lahaina and in a quiet area. Being on the first floor, the access to the pool and lawn area can’t be beat! We loved having our morning coffee and evening time on the lawn chairs watching the honus (turtles) in the water. This brought us such joy! Barbara has everything stocked that you would need, including extra towels, ziploc baggies and laundry detergent/fabric softener sheets. The only thing we were confused about was that the listing didn’t specify that the laundry is not in the unit. However it’s easily accessible (bellboy-type carts are available) on the second and third floors and the machines take credit cards. The building is clean and well cared for. I want to highlight that Barbara is incredibly accommodating and kind. We were let into the unit early and allowed a late checkout with such aloha. She definitely made our honeymoon go off without a hitch. We loved staying here and would definitely book again and again. Mahalo Barbara!

My husband and I had the most amazing trip to Maui! After many years together, we got married at Barbara's beautiful condo, the day after we arrived! We didn't bring along our family and friends, we kept it all very simple, and said our vows out on the grass in front of the lanai! We could not have picked a lovlier location, and this condo became an integral part of our great memories of Maui. Every morning and every evening we loved sitting outside and enjoying the view. The neighbors were so friendly and the sea turtles visited daily. Both Barbera, and the facility manager checked in with us to see if everything was going well. Today as I write this, we once again looked over our pictures, and I have to tell you we really miss this place, and the people we met there. We will always stay here when we visit Maui...this condo is in a great location..easy drive to all the big tourist areas, yet so nice to come back to the peacefulness of Maalaea! Thank you, Barbara for allowing us to stay in your beautiful, clean, quiet, amazing home!:)

After the year we had it was time to do a reset. Living here in Las Vegas I wasn't looking for high energy nitelife. I just wanted a quiet peaceful place to reflect and enjoy my spouse. Getting up with my morning coffee and sitting on my patio, enjoying watching the sun rise on the ocean was like chicken soup for the soul. Barbara has decorated the condo very nicely, Beachy Hawaiian. The unit is well equipped just like home. At the time of this writing there is a shortage of rental cars on the island. The touristy places we visited we got a cab. Just hanging around the condo wasn't an issue.
We wanted a reset. We got that in spades. Thank you Barbara.
