Really enjoyed our stay, nice view on lanai. Very quiet resort.
Minor issues though some might want to know about before they book, water is shut off once a week for maintenace/repairs, ocean waves audible in room all night, must traverse steps at this second floor unit to and from unit to get to/from elevator. For now mobility not an issue for us. First floor units have no steps to worry about but no views because of bushes.
Would stay again and bring ear plugs.

The condo was awesome. They thought of everything. The unit was close enough to hear the ocean at night and watch amazing sunsets from the lanai. You are centrally located to everything in Kona.

Really like this unit. Very clean nice furnishings and kitchen , firm King mattress. Nice sunsets from the sea wall (in May sunset happens behind north bldg from lanai so not visible). Nice Ocean views before noon and after sunset when sun not directly on the lanai (it gets hot). Good wifi. Very friendly small group of long term residents. Lots of beach gear: boogie boards, chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, beach toys....
Things to be aware of. You have to traverse steps to take luggage and groceries up to unit. Ground floor units much better for those who have mobility issues (few have a view though in this complex). You can hear the surf all night as you are close to the water. The bedroom blinds still allow quite a bit of light (property walkway lighting) into the bedroom if you need dark to sleep. Parking inside security fence fills up by 5:00 pm most days. You can park outside the fence as well but just not as secure. Felt pretty safe here and plan to stay again.

This place is great!! It was so nice to sit out on the beach, and listen to the waves crashing. It was also amazing to be able to cool off in the salt water pool!!
The condo was clean, and really nice. The bed was comfy, and there was air conditioning, which was amazing after a hot day of golf.
I would definitely stay here again when visiting the Big Island!!

Had a great stay at this location! My only complaint is absolutely no water pressure in the shower. I know there are signs around the property about water shutoff but that part was kind of miserable. We all ended up showering at the pool which was inconvenient but the only way we could. Saw a lot of whales from the balcony!

This is a great place for us as we have now issues with going up and down steps. Beautiful place, friendly residents, unit very nice.
The resort is over 50 years old now and we lost water for 3 days off and on for repairs. We had to time showers and dishwasher. Security lights are bright at night and illuminate bedroom quite a bit. It would be nice if better light blocking blinds were updated in the bedroom. Would stray again.

The condo was clean and serviceable. The property is aged, but maintained. We were without water on three separate days and without A/C for just over a day. The reason this property won out over others when we booked was the fact that it had A/C and laundry machines in the unit. The water pressure in the shower felt like a slow drip off of a leaf. We won't be staying again.

Everything about this place was amazing! Location, cleanliness, quiet and beautiful. There were just a few issues specific to our stay that made it less than perfect. The salt pool was closed for the first half of our stay. Which is certainly one of the high points of the location. Absolutely loved it once it was open again! There were some water issues, but management properly notified us. Our shower was out during the construction and afterwards we didn’t have any water flow for the rest of the trip. My fiancé ended up cleaning and replacing the shower head himself. Otherwise it was an idyllic stay! Super clean! Remote enough to have privacy but close enough to get to town easily. Would give it 4.8 stars if I could!

Loved staying at Casa de Emdeko! Beautiful view of the water and sunsets. Fantastic property - beautiful gardens in the courtyard and an amazing salt water pool at the ocean's edge. Quiet location, but easy to get to downtown. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a nice, clean condo with a good location. The salt water pool was a hit with our 13 year old. We had a couple of minor maintenance problems, but the same day we reported them, a worker came out and fixed them promptly! That is good service. The fold out queen couch bed was just ok, but the king bed was very comfortable. We loved that they had beach chairs, coolers, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, etc. available to use!

The property and unit were exactly as described and perfect for our goals of relaxing and exploring the big island. As a bonus the lockers had a lot of equipment that allowed us to go to beaches and snorkel without having to buy/rent equipment, ice chests, chairs, etc. It is all there! (even sand toys if we had little ones with us). Would recommend highly and definitely return here!

We had a fabulous time at Casa De Emdeko! The location couldn't be more perfect, within a few minutes drive of the waterfront area in Kona and a great spot right on the water for epic sunsets!
If you enjoy sunset, this complex is for you. Sunsets are an event in Kona, with what seems like everyone setting up for a viewing each night.
The pools are fantastic, the common space is beautiful and the neighbors are friendly. The condo, itself is well-equipped and the air conditioner worked well for us. I've seen in other reviews that folks were hot, but we didn't run into the same issue.
We appreciated the in-unit laundry and the ability to relax on the lanai or in the living each evening after a full day of exploring the island.
We'd absolutely stay in this unit or this complex again. We had an amazing time.

Love the property and views from the terrace. Not good to be on second or 3rd floor units if you can't handle steps to lug luggage. Nice grounds and BBQ area. No beach close but great sunsets. Not a problem for us so we'll be back.

This condo had very nice upgrades, the bed was very comfortable. The indoor and outdoor furniture were also comfortable. The downside to this condo is that there wasn't any spices I was fortunate to find salt and pepper, only one roll of toilet paper, one roll of paper towels, no coffee filters or coffee. We have been staying at VRBO's for the last 15-20 years and this is the first one that didn't supply commentary coffee and filters. If you stay here bring all of it. The air conditioning is not a true air conditioner, it is some type of cooling system which does not work very well. The condo was hot the entire time we were there. The swimming pool was closed for the first three days we were there for some type of emergency repair. This condo does not have a washer/dryer so bring laundry detergent, there is a laundry room downstairs.

This property is the perfect getaway for the couple that wants to have a quiet vacation in Hawaii. It was laid back, not crowded at all. Great views from the patio, refreshing pool for the best sunsets. Understand why some of their guests have stayed 8 times

The grounds of the complex was beautifully maintained and we loved the salt water pool! Our condo was very clean and was well stocked with everything you need for a great day at the beach. My only complaint was that a lot of water ended up on the bathroom floor while taking a shower and the bed sheets were worn. It’s probably time for a new set. Other than that we had a lovely time.

Great unit FULLY stocked from the kitchen to the beach toys to laundry to the linens. Close to main strip but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quite. Great bbq area with lots of visiting and the sunsets just can not be beat! Loved the option of salt water pool or fresh water! Will return for our next stay!!

The unit is clean, well appointed and large, with a view of the ocean from the lanai. Checking in was straightforward. Some of the decor is dated, which could either be a feature or a bug. Location is south of the main activity in Kona. We appreciated this but others might want to be closer to those activities.
