Our November stay was fantastic. Owner and manager were super in multiple ways. Our unit was close to two pools and had a very nice bay view. The kitchen was well stocked. A bonus was three air conditioners for our use as needed. We look forward to returning in the future.

Clean, and Comfortable is just the start of this excellent home. The home is well-appointed with everything you need. Fantastic location on the resort with a direct view of Keahou Bay from the lanai! Parking spot is right at the stairs, main pool is just across the drive. The entire Kanaloa at Kona Resort is clean, well-maintained and beautiful. A great place for you Hawaiian stay.

The condo was spacious and we enjoyed morning coffee and ended the evening on the lanai listening to the sound of the water. The condo does get warm during the day, even with the AC, but cools down at night. We would stay here again as the property is gorgeous, with restaurants, grocery stores and shopping nearby. Another plus was the snorkeling gear, beach chairs and towels.

This condo is amazing! We had everything we needed and more! There was a slight issue with the air conditioning, but Rita had an electrician come out right away and it was fixed and VERY comfortable. Beds are also very comfortable. Location is perfect, away from the hustle of Alii street, but very close to everything. The bay is awesome, lanai perfect for morning coffee listening to the waves hit the shore. This was our very first time on the Big Island and we definitely will be back. We won’t think twice on renting this condo again.

My friend and I really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood of this property. The unit is large. There were only 2 of us but I could see it still being spacious with a few more people. We thought the beds were comfortable and enjoyed the a/c. The view from the living room lanai was beautiful. We enjoyed having dinner out there every night. I had very good communication with Steve (the owner). There is an easy walk to the marina, which is picturesque, from the property. We used the Quiet/Adult pool a few times when we didn't want to go to the beach.
Everything seemed well maintained. Property is also a 5 minute drive to a grocery store and pizza place. We used both. The property is gated which is nice. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved how comfortable this condo was for family of 2 kids, and 4 adults. We enjoyed drinking coffee on the beautiful lanai and the fully stocked kitchen for meals at home. We couldn’t figure out how to get the ceiling fan on the lanai to work, but other than that, we loved this vacation.

I let the owner know a year ahead of time that I was shortening my reservation by two weeks.Instead of 7 weeks we would be staying 5 weeks. He wrote back and said that it was too hard to get VRBO to change the reservation and that he would fix it before the final payment was due in Dec. I wrote him Dec 1 and reminded him of this and got nothing back. So VRBO was going to charge me for the whole 7 weeks. After arguing with VRBO and the owner they both said all I could do was cancel my reservation completely. This was 3 weeks before we were coming to Hawaii-----if the owner didn't want to rent to us for the same price there is nothing with VRBO that says he has to so we would be out of a place to stay. Because there wasn't any other places to rent at that late date I just had to leave it and basically was out $2700. A complete rip off!!!!
The unit itself is old like much of Kanaloa is. The shower downstairs was just hanging there and not attached at the bottom. The AC worked ok in the LR but was not real cold in the bedrooms. The kitchen was ok but very dark.The view was nice but the deck furniture uncomfortable. There is also many stairs just to get to the front door and many more to get to the upper bedroom. Not fun with luggage and groceries. I would not stay here again.

We have stayed at Kanaloa multiple times and find it to be one of the best vacation condos in Kona. Kanaloa is in a great location on the waterfront within walking distance of snorkel beaches, shops and restaurants. The units are roomy, clean, quiet and nicely furnished. Most of the units have central air conditioning which is a must in the summer months.

This place was wonderful. My kids loved going to one of the 3 pools in the neighborhood. There was plenty of snorkeling gear for all of us. The location was perfect, just a short drive from down town Kona. There’s a fairly large shopping center just a mile or so from the condo that has anything you could need as well. Kitchen is well stocked, plenty of beach towels and very comfy rooms.

Had a very nice stay in this condo. Enjoyed sitting out on the lanai watch the waves crash in the little bay. The resort area is clean and well kept. Pools are not too busy and it is easy to get out to town in a few minutes. A good spot that close enough to everything and yet private.

We loved this beautiful condo and that it was well stocked so that we didn't have to think about basis amenities. It has a gorgeous view, and a beach that we could walk to and my son could surf at. Such a nice resort with tennis courts, pools, and hot tubs. We highly recommend this condo!!

This condo is sturdy built and very quiet. Unit faces a rocky beach inlet to the ocean, but not directly west so the sun does not impact the lanai. Unit is large for the price. has 3 lanais. Everything worked. Tv/cable simple to operate. Glad we paid extra for the aircondtioning. The Ocean View pool was very nice. Waves crashing, spraying up while relaxing by the pool. Overall good experience!

The lanai/view is the best part of this rental. The location of the property is ideal for this island, centrally located and enough off the main roads that it doesn’t feel congested or crowded. The owner was responsive and helpful. The added extras were appreciated however, one pair of fins broke so we purchased and left a new pair. Also a beach chair has a broken arm but still works. The 2 bedrooms were perfect for 2 couples. And of course the view was fantastic! We hiked down to the “cove” often to see beautiful fish life. Thanks for sharing your lovely place.

The condo was centrally located to all we did on the Big Island. Shopping center just a mile away, Kona just 5 miles up the road. Snorkeling options within walking distance or a mile away. Coffee on the balcony every money was the best.

Very spacious with a beautiful view of a bay from Lanai., 2 bedrooms on a different floor level, 3 lanais. Can accommodate people without crowding each other. The owner was very responsive and great to work with.
There are quite a bit of stairs to the unit and within the unit, so it might not be suited for those who doesn't like stairs.

The condo, though not new, was roomy and comfortable. The lanai overlooked a beautiful inlet, making meals especially enjoyable, and the property manager was friendly and very quick to respond to our questions. The location is not only beautiful, it's convenient to go either up the coast or down. We enjoyed watched the sun set from the ocean pool every day of our vacation. The beach equipment kept in the condo for use by visitors came in very handy. Totally recommend.

The grounds were well maintained— we just wish the pool was open a little later than 9pm. The location was perfect for exploring the whole island and being centrally located. We had a great time in this condo- it was a wonderful location, with a lanai we spent a ton of time on listening to the gentle surf in this little inlet. It was spacious, beds were comfortable, kitchen was good (but needs a knife sharpener), living areas quite adequate for three friends. Advance communication on how to check in was not available on arrival, but the owner and his local contact were very gracious every time we contacted them and we got in and out without any other issues. I would definitely stay there again!

Great location for a long stay. Comfortable and fully appointed. Great water pressure. Just two complaints: (1) dishwasher needs to be replaced. It runs but doesn't work. The dishes were still dirty, so I had to wash everything by hand. (2) Thermostat is locked so no way to adjust it. It was generally too cool during the day and too warm at night for me.

Overall we were amazed by this condo! Had some ants that hung out around the sink despite us trying to keep food tucked away but they were minimal. Otherwise the unit was awesome. Great view, good area to go north or south on the island, and a virtually private bay for snorkeling! Bed were clean and comfortable and the AC worked no problem. Loved eating out on the main lanai and just listening to the waves. A few of the snorkel items had been damaged by prior users so we did rent snorkel gear while there but the rest was in good shape. The cooler was great for day trips further away like volcano NP.
Would definitely be happy to stay here again!

Stayed here for the first half of our trip and it was everything I expected. Great view of the Bay, bunch of different pools on the resort and was no more than 15 minutes to the main area of Kona where all the restaurants and shops we're.
The unit had three separate AC units, one in the living room, main bedroom and one in the upstairs loft. Wish there was something in the bathroom but was not that much of a problem. It was nice that there were a few beach chairs and umbrella that we were able to use when heading to the beach. And the chairs out on the patio got used a lot whenever we were actually at the unit. We were also able to use any of the pools on the resort and was also able to walk down to the little bay that you could overlook through the unit.
Would definitely stay there again and recommend this spot to anyone looking to visit the big island.

The main pool was amazing eight off the ocean the views were perfect. Never got to use the tennis courts too nusy but they looked great. A great market KTA was only a 5 minute drive. Our family of 5 had an amazing experience! So many perks: property had 3 pools and a wonderful spot for evening sunsets, very comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen. The aloe in the fridge was great after a little sunburn. Apartment was so spacious and great deck space. It worked well for us with our 3 grown boys. There was an extra mattress in the closet. All the little thoughtful details were very much appreciated. Anytime we needed anything the owner quickly responded. We would stay here again!!

Booking was easy and owner was very responsive. Property manager was helpful and fixed any problems right away. Also recommended local restaurants and grocery stores. Property had 1 bedroom and 1 loft with 2 beds that can be combined into one bed. Living room had a pull out sofa which we didn't need. Patio had a nice view of the beach and its within a 5min walk, you can ask security for directions. Theres also a sign right out of the gate. You will need a key access to the gate from the office once you check in. The beach is a great spot for snorkeling no need to go to captain cook, we saw different colored fishes and a turtle here. KTA supermarket has everything you need. You can also go to walmart 15mins away, with a safeway and a target all in one area. Beware of roaches, we spotted 2 in the restroom and 1 in the living-room. We threw out our garbage everyday and made sure sliding door/windows etc were kept close but were surprised by them. Overall the place was clean, neat and had plenty of supplies. We had a great time staying at Konaloa. The property was nice and the location was excellent. It's a very quite part of Kona and didn't feel crowded even at high season. Walking distance to Keauhou bay and Keauhou shopping center was definitely a perk. Check in process was a little uneven but fine, just make sure to ask for a gate key (we didn't know that was an option till too late).

We were so happy with our stay. The hosts had provided beach gear for us to use which was perfect as we were able to use this rather than bring our own or hire! Having a rental car gave us the freedom to drive around the island and return to the quiet Outrigger complex and make use of the facilities there. It really did feel like a home away from home with a gorgeous view from the lanai. Plenty of space for the kids too so we didn't feel like we were crowding each other, very important when traveling with teens! Thanks again for allowing us to stay in your lovely condo! We would happily recommend this property to families as a perfect base for your big island holiday!

There was plenty of space for the 5 of us in this large condo and the views off of the Lanai were gorgeous. We used the pools everyday and liked being able to walk 2 minutes to snorkel in Heeia Bay. Having the large, clean grill right outside the door was a plus. The grounds are very quiet, lush and beautifully maintained. This location is perfect, with the shopping center just a few minutes drive and easy access to all the attractions to the North and South of Kona. One minor issue upon arrival was addressed immediately by the owner. A few recommendations: replace some of the frying pans as they were warped; we cook every day and ended up buying one and leaving it there! Some silverware could also be replaced, to make a full set for larger parties like ours. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly!

The unit is spacious, but in the hot summer AC is a must. We would have been uncomfortable without the AC in July. There is a little bay that the unit overlooks and it had the best snorkeling we found on both the Big Island and Maui which we visited both on this trip. The Kona coffee plantations are very close. The volcano is flowing again and should be a must see trip, but go over to the county side and rent a bike at the end of the day so you can get all the way to the lava and pole it yourself with a stick, but wear shoes not flip flops or they will turn you back. The Green Sand Beach by South Point was worth the bumpy ride, and we saw people jumping into the blue hole at South Point as well.

The big Island has been the most memorable experience for our family. The big Island has it all! Our 2 week stay at this condo was so awesome. All the beach stuff that was available for use was so helpful, and saved us from buying stuff. The pools were awesome for evening swimming with our kids. Watching the sun rise and seeing the ocean every morning was a treat. The condo was equipped with everything we needed. The owner Steve was very pleasant and easy to deal with.

This was our second stay in this large and comfortable condo, located in a very quiet residential area. We loved hearing the ocean from the main lanai, and really enjoyed the large bedrooms with our 2 teens. The condo has great views and the resort is close to many places to explore on your vacation. We loved the neighbourhood around the resort. We walked to the Sheraton to see the sunset and another night walked to a great informal restaurant on Keauhou Bay. It has boogie boards, coolers, snorkel gear and lawn chairs supplied - you just need to show up for a great vacation. Steve is very accommodating and easy to make arrangements with. We hope to be back for a third visit.

I booked the condo last fall thru Steve, and he couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. Everything was great and his detailed instructions and directions made it very seamless. My sister and 2 teenage girls stayed for 6 nights. The condo is very spacious and comfortable for short or long stays. A few things little could be updated, but it was super clean and affordable. Everyone on the property was very nice. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai just watching and listening to the waves crash against the rocks. The trolly to and from Kona was great for the teenagers. We also walked to the beaches to hang out, snorkeling and kayaking. I liked being close to shops and outdoor activities, but far enough from crowds downtown. I would definitely recommend this condo for families or couples.

Our stay here lasted 18 days and we thoroughly enjoyed the condo the entire time. The good sized lanai right outside the dining area was worth the price of admission! We spent a lot of time there because of the beautiful view of Heeia Bay with the waves crashing below. When we ate in, we always used the lanai.
The condo was very good sized and comfortable. Very large flat screen TV and fans in the living room and bedrooms. There was plenty of beach gear; mask, fins & snorkels, coolers, chairs and umbrella and nice beach towels. There was a nice gas BBQ pretty close to the condo that we used several times.
The other thing that was nice is that it was very peaceful and quiet. This resort is away from the throngs of tourists in downtown Kona but is only a few miles drive away if you want to hang out there. The entire resort grounds were very lush and well maintained. Tips on the best restaurants; Jackie Rey's Ohana grill on Kuakini Hiway is a wonderful place to have any kind of fish dinner and Mi's Restaurant a few miles south on Hiway 11 is fantastic for Italian food.

We enjoyed spending time at our home away from home. The condo had everything we needed to enjoy our time in Kona. The condo is in a central location. We traveled to the great beaches to the north, downtown Kona and great snorkeling. We enjoyed taking long walks. The view from the lanai was beautiful and the listening to sound of the waves was relaxing after a busy day touring the west side of the island. Watching the sunsets every evening from the oceanfront pool and relaxing in the hot tub was also enjoyable. The condo was clean and comfortable. Steve was responsive if we had any questions too. This is a well appointed condo in a beautiful community close to shopping and away from the crowds. We totally enjoyed coming "home" after very busy days sightseeing. We were "on the road" so much that we really did not get to enjoy the pools (although the one by the ocean looked so inviting!). There is a nice visitor's book with helpful recommendations by other guests as to which beaches and activities are best. The condo has a washer and dryer and Steve has stocked it with beach towels, coolers, some fins, masks and snorkels as well as a couple of boogie boards. He was very helpful and responded quickly to any requests. We also did the night scuba dive with the mantas which was as amazing as everyone said. Definitely go with a dive boat to the north location (even if you snorkel) because divers and snorkelers can go out together and the north location (verses the Sheraton location) has more dive boats, more light and hence, more mantas. We visited the Mauna Kea Observatory for a night of star gazing and totally enjoyed the Visitor Center and volunteer astronomers who set up the telescopes; but were disappointed by the fog which obscured the stars for much of the evening. We would certainly recommend this to our friends (be aware: there are 3 levels so you must be able to negotiate 3 flights of stairs to access the main level as well as the bedrooms). There is so much to see and do on the "big Island" that we definitely hope to return for another visit!

We enjoyed our stay in this spacious condo. The pool by the ocean is beautiful. The location is great, close to town but not crowded. Our 2 year old had trouble with the 3 flights of stairs, but other than that, it was wonderful. Three balconies all have different views. Lots of sliding glass doors and windows. Would definitely recommend this unit. My son loved playing ping pong and tennis.
