We loved our visit! The location was perfect and the condo was wonderful. The people at the resort were friendly and the grounds were perfect. My mom enjoyed watching her grandkids play on the beach and my kids loved the beach right in the backyard. Only suggestion would be to figure out a way to open the little air vents in the ceiling and supply some kitchen essentials. We ended up leaving a few items like salt and pepper for the next guest. Mahalo!

It’s nicely located to Lahaina and local shopping mall and food carts. It’s also an easy walk to the local Bad *** coffee shop. We enjoyed breakfast on our patio every morning and watching the turtles come right up on the beach. It’s a comfortable place to swim. The condo was well stocked except for the kitchen which could have used basic spices, oil, Pam etc to cook with. The property manager was quick to email us back with answers to our questions and provided extra fans to keep us cool. We enjoyed driving to Hana, snorkeling in Turtle town and Molekini and a luau. We also went to Black rock and snorkeled with the turtles and fish. We definitely had a wonderful time and definitely will be back in the future.

Love these condos! Located on a small private property with beach access. Condo was very nice and clean when we arrived, good kitchen, comfortable beds and furniture, and a perfect view of the ocean. This condo is very spacious and there was plenty of room for 4 people. Also, even though there is no AC, there are plenty of fans and the breeze from the ocean. This was our first time in March, and loved the whale sightings each day, along with daily turtles as well. View from the balcony is amazing! Property manager was very easy to communicate with and helpful throughout the entire process. We were even able to check in a little early, since we were already on the property. Had a wonderful time!

Four retired friends stayed in this well-appointed condo. It had the furnishings and amenities we needed. The pictures in the listing matched what we found. The accommodations were comfortable and met our expectations. We also appreciated the proximity to the public bus, restaurants and grocery stores. Very pleased with the condo. Couple minor suggestions. Downstairs bathroom door sticks and downstairs bedroom closet door off the slider. All minor. Thick layer of dust under the upstairs bed. Otherwise clean and in good working order. Would rent again. My 4th stay at Hale Mahina. Location is perfect and nice beach. Grounds are immaculate and well kept. The manager Larry is great.

Overall the location is absolutely stunningly fantastic With amazing views. However with that said the humidity being and on the top floor was absolutely horrendous. now I know why they make you initial the contract knowing there is no AC! Yikes- The standing floor oscillating fans barely blew any air. We reached out to Chase N Rainbows and got no reply. We more chatting with the Grounds maintenance man, Larry and he very kindly brought up two more standing oscillating fans that were a big help but still with two big huge ceiling fans and five or six regular fans we had to sleep on the sofa pull out with the doors open to get any relief to sleep- there’s definitely some maintenance that needs to be tended to pod lights with adequate lighting in the bathroom, shower door falling off downstairs, tattered bedding underneath the couch, extremely dusty ceiling fans and trash bags Provide it did not fit garbage can. Headboards on all beds not attached to walls or bed so they fall over. even though you’re on Maui time you’d still like to have a clock, there wasn’t one. Our friends stayed in other units that were impeccable! Good luck finding an accessible plug-in for your laptops or phone chargers they’re in the most odd places-light bulb burned out in lamp in living room- just routine maintenance that is obviously neglected. Would I stay here again? Only if the above was taken care of and AC was installed-maybe the ground floor but not the fourth floor without AC!

First, Chase N Rainbows was a dream to work with. From finding me a great place to accommodating requests and then personally helping when needed. And they keep the property in great shape. The unit itself is unbelievable. ON THE BEACH with full ocean view and turtles coming up daily. It's a spacious one bedroom with two baths, and the complex is kept up very nicely. It's close to Kaanapali and has nearby food and grocery options. Stay here. You'll love it.

The actually process of renting the unit was very easy and chasin rainbows was very easy to work with. The unit itself is dated. The kitchen update is nice, but the furniture throughout is dated and worn. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms are also dated with cabinets aged. There were always very tiny flying ant like bugs on both bathroom sinks. We left no make up or any food out for them- they were there the day we arrived and stayed the entire time. I killed then when I saw them. The carpet on the stairs and bedroom has stains on it as well. Having said all of this- this condo was fine for us. We do not need a fancy renovated place that will cost us more as we are not those kind of people and are gone during the day. So it did meet our needs. A couple of strong recommendations would be to stock the kitchen better. There are only 4 settings of plates, bowls and forks so you are having to wash things during a meal if using them to serve something. Also, the kitchen sink does not drain unless you turn on the very slow disposal. We did not put anything down the disposal other than rinsing off plates and this was a problem the day we arrived. Also, please clean the ceiling fans- those are covered is dust and that is gross. All else was adequate for our stay. I have not been to Hawaii for 34 years and my husband has never so we did not know what to expect. We love the location, beach- all outside was maintained to perfection! We do not know what a newer comparable condo would cost- so I cannot comment on that. But overall we were satisfied- just need better cleaning service. Also we thought the cleaning service was supposed to come once during our week and they never did- I thought that was part of our paid contract. So if the owners are paying for that they are not getting it. And the cleaning service is definitely not doing a great job. Go in and look at the ceiling fans for yourself- they need cleaning.

The location was amazing and the area was the best we have stayed in having been to the Hawaiian islands 5 previous trips. This unit however was tidy but very dirty and my husband and I had to purchase cleaning products and spend our first morning washing floors, toilets and finding sheets for our bed. The unit is missing a lot of items or is minimally stalked. I called the maid service to get a few items: another bath towel, face cloth, and no towels and no one returned the call. We will return to this location but not this unit unfortunately. We are now in Kauai and the unit is clean and has everything we as a young family of 4 would need. Also both my husband and I had our backs go out because the bed was worn out and needs to be replaced. The property, pool yard is kept in amazing condition and the beach was fantastic.

I have family who have been staying at Hale Mahina for many years, which is part of what caused the selection of this unit. Overall the unit was as advertised, however it is in need of some TLC. The twin beds were not terribly comfortable and the shades in that room were almost impossible to operate due to conflicting with the storm shutter/window vent levers. One of the headboards was also leaning over the one twin bed. While the condo could use some updates in a couple of areas (downstairs bath, a few more plates/forks, etc.), overall it was quite clean and served our needs. I never expect a rental to be 100% updated or new. Being on the top level at this condo complex is always a bonus for the great views this affords of the beach and surrounding areas. There were honu landing on the beach nearly every day we were there in early November which was also fun to watch, but you have to give them their space.

Even given our condo choice didn’t have air conditioning ( and on the 4th floor 2 story heat rises HOT) the nearness to the ocean and pool is wonderful. This particular condo needs to be updated and cleaned. The stairs carpet was filthy. The fabric blinds were worn out and thread bare. The upstairs layout was too crowded -bathrooms way too small for a long stay.

We had a wonderful week at Hale Mahina and I agree 100% with previous reviews about the resort location and Larry, the resident manager. The grounds are pristine and the private beach access in this uncrowded part of West Maui is a gem (not like the wall of people at the resort area on Kaanapali). While the unit itself has a beautifully updated kitchen, it could use some additional plates, cups, etc. if you plan to eat more than one meal before doing dishes (and the dishwasher sounds like it’s grinding the dishes clean—was reported to mgmt). The rest of the unit is comfortable, but is showing normal wear from years of being a rental. The layout is fantastic, and as described, we were fully comfortable without AC by opening the large sliding door and propping the entry door to create wind flow, and the additional fans provided helped in the bedrooms. New beds in both rooms would really help make this unit fantastic—the king in the master visibly sags in the middle and the two twins in the 2nd bedroom are lumpy, for lack of a better word. A good night’s sleep in paradise would have made this a 5 star review.
*Also to note: while not specifically listed in the description, we were expecting boogie boards, beach chairs and a cooler for our use while there, based on reviews and communication with C’nR. There were only two boogie boards, and only one with a leash. The beach chairs were located under the stairwell and we didn’t even take them out as the metal was rusting and they didn’t look stable. We never did find a cooler.
Last, I don’t know if it’s standard resort policy, or specific to Covid, but renters are only allowed to have 2 guests (including children) visit. We were disappointed, as we have friends who live on Maui and were hoping to invite them over one evening, but they have two young children, which would have exceed the number allowed.

I’ve stayed at 3 other condos in this area and this one is my favorite so far. The view is amazing and the beach area is clean with a great sand entry. No rocky drop offs so it’s great for kids. As long as you can handle NO air conditioning, you will love it. Days are a little hot inside but it cools down inside for a great sleep. We would definitely return and recommend!

Great property management & help with some issues when we first arrived. The bathroom door was completely off it’s hinges, but thankfully my husband fixed it. Spoke with Linda form Chasen Rainbows who apologized profusely & was very kind. The rest of the place was very clean. Some new, taller chairs & a taller table on the lanai would make the place a perfect rental. The lanai chairs are very tired, old & wobbly. Still, a great place overall.
