Everything was wonderful during our stay over Christmas. The home is spacious, comfortable, peaceful and conveniently located. We had four adults and two littles - plenty of space and privacy. The ensuites were perfect and the kitchen was well-appointed. We took advantage of the Mauna Lani Beach Club (perfect for swimming and Sunning with a bar/restaurant on site. We dined at the Fairmont Orchid Browns Beach House, the Mauna Lani Resort HaLani and Surf Shack, the Mauna Kea Manta, and other restaurants in Waikoloa Village. We used two of the bikes ( had to add air to tires, third adult bike had a broken kickstand and very flat tire). The pool in the Villages community was nice but we enjoyed the beach more. One of the showers had definitely not been cleaned - the management offered to send someone to clean it but we didn’t have them do that. Management was super-responsive and communicated regularly with us throughout our stay. Highly recommend this property on the Big Island.

Our group of 4 stayed the week of 9/16 to 9/22. The home is stocked well, very spacious and clean. The beach chairs, ice chest, boogie boards were so nice to have! The snorkel equipment - not so great. Recommend renting some to use at the Mauna Lani beach club - which has GREAT snorkeling! Would stay here again.

This was our first time staying in the Villages, and we found it be a great location on the Mauna Lani Resort. This property is extremely well appointed, with top-of-the-line furnishings and appliances.

The property is in a beautiful neighborhood and had all the comforts and amenities our family needed to enjoy a perfect week in Kona. The home is beautifully furnished, spacious, and well stocked with kitchen items, grilling equipment, bedding, baby gear, and outdoor activity equipment. Our family of 8 spent many happy nights grilling and enjoying the view from the lanai. We loved taking bike rides to the pool and nearby shops and beaches. Thank you!

We loved this place and would stay again. The home suited our family of 5 adults very well. Each bedroom had its own en suite bathroom. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very nicely appointed and clean. The provided linens were excellent, including beach towels. The two-floor layout was perfect for privacy but also for gathering as a family. The upstairs, spacious lanai was great and we enjoyed morning and evening relaxation time on it. The beach amenities, including snorkel gear, chairs, and umbrellas were a very nice addition, although one of the two umbrellas was broken (but somewhat usable). We had some minor maintenance issues that needed to be addressed - the remote for the garage door opener failed to work and the dryer failed to heat part way into our 6 night stay. The property management company was very quick to respond to our requests for maintenance. In fact, the dryer was repaired the same day that we reported the problem. Some of the instruction cards for the upstairs TV need to be updated as they refer to a Samsung remote control, which could not be found. Instead, there was a universal Spectrum remote which did not adequately control the TV functions. We gave up on using the TV - besides we were in Hawaii and didn't really need it! We enjoyed having access to the private Beach Club.

Windy conditions and an advancing brush fire made our last day both exciting and frustrating. Of course that had nothing to do with the house rental. Regarding the fire, management was quick to reassure us via email that Mauna Lani, being surrounded by lava, was safe from the fire.
Communication prior to our arrival was good and provided all necessary info.

We had a great experience with our trip. Everything was extremely easy and communication was always responded to quickly. Could not recommend this more. The house was gorgeous and so was the location. We had everything we needed and it made our vacation so easy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again in the future. Our first VRBO experience was 5 stars for sure.

The process or renting was seamless. The communication from the property management group was more than adequate to ensure we knew what was expected during our stay.

We loved this place. There was so much room. Loved all of the snorkeling equipment, bikes, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc! We were so close to the beaches especially 49 Beach. The black beach was perfect with great weather and not very many people there. The kitchen had everything you need. We had our 10 month old grandson with us so the high chair and infant life jacket was great to have. I would highly recommend this house to everyone one! Beautiful home!

We booked the Sunset Villa for our trip to Puako in July. When our group of 7 entered the Sunset Villa, we were all impressed with the cleanliness and spaciousness of this condo. The condo was very airy, well-maintained, and fully stocked (as noted in their description) with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The arrangement of our rooms allowed for much privacy, especially with each room having its own ensuite bathroom. We all agreed that it was a beautiful condo, more elegant when seen in person than on photos.
The Villa is a 5 minute walk to the Shops at Mauna Lani for groceries and a delicious vegan eatery. It is about a 10-15min walk to the Fairmont Orchid, and a 5min drive to the Mauna Lani Beach Club for swimming and snorkeling. For boogie boarding, our son loved the waves at Hapuna Beach, about 10-15min drive north.
Although we originally wanted to rent a different condo, Jeff and Suzanne directed us to the Sunset Villa, and I am so happy they made this recommendation. We will definitely consider the Sunset Villa again the next time we are on the Big Island.

Sunset Villa was the perfect fit for our 3 generations. Everything we could think of was provided. Well equipped kitchen, 3 master suites and lots of beach toys to use. Perfect location. The beach club had excellent snorkeling with calm waters the toddlers loved. Hapuna Beach is minutes away. You won't be disappointed with this rental.

Our late April visit was terrific. The housing complex and surrounds were uncrowded, relaxing and we hit beautiful weather. We loved the bikes. Left one with with a loose handlebar and no tool to tighten it though.

Well appointed unit with high end appliances and furniture. All the tools we needed for cooking, barbecue, and trips to the beach. This unit provides more quality gear at no additional charge than others we have rented in Mauna Lani. Jeff and Suzanne were very responsive via email to questions that arose during our stay (ie, bike lock combination, etc).
When we were at the unit, lots of time was spent lounging on the wonderful lanai. When the weather conditions are just right, guests have peek-a-boo views of the water and even Maui from there. Views of the Kohala mountains are fantastic.
The HVAC system was extremely responsive when the unit needed cooling quickly. Well built construction meant we did not hear the guests renting the next door unit (one shared wall). However, unlike units directly on the golf course (or similar situations), there is a street (inner complex only) that runs right below the lanai and noise from engine revving cars or talkative pedestrians will carry up to the lanai, but fortunately that is infrequent.
Close proximity to Foodland and the Mauna Lani shops are a plus for walking or riding the bikes and staying out of the car. And since the unit sits at the far end of the Villages complex, you don't hear any noise associated with the shops.
We went as a family of 5, but this house would work well for three couples traveling together. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, as well as comfortable beds. Having the electronic door lock provided further convenience as there was no need to pass a door key amongst the family.
We would certainly stay at the Sunset Villa again.

The house was in good shape and very well stocked. It was great to vacation with a home to come back to rather than a hotel room. Jeff and Suzanne were very prompt to respond to contact as well. We were very happy with our stay.
