Corona virus and quarantine update: 9/16/20 Beginning October15, all travelers arriving in Hawaii from out-of-state will be required to get a valid COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their trip, and to show proof of a negative test result at the airport, to avoid the 14-day quarantine. The FDA-approved PCR test from a CLIA-certified laboratory will need to be done prior to arrival. No testing will be provided upon arrival at the airport. 6/16- Transient Rentals, vacation rentals are allowed to rent as of June 16, 2020 “but” only to those who are not subject to a 14-day quarantine. Any traveler who comes into the State is required to quarantine at a “hotel or motel”, with the exception of returning residents who may quarantine at their home. During the quarantine period, the guest will not be allowed to rent a car, they are not allowed out of their accommodation, they must order food to be delivered in, etc. 3/19 HONOLULU -- Hawaii's governor has instituted a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine starting 3/26 of all people traveling to the state as part of efforts to fight the spread of coronavirus . The order applies to returning residents as well as visitors. It applies to all arrivals at Hawaii airports from the continental U.S. and international destinations and extends to other private and commercial aircraft. Returning residents must quarantine themselves at home, the governor's office said. Visitors must quarantine themselves in their hotel room or rented lodging. People under quarantine may only leave their homes for medical emergencies or to seek medical care, the governor's office said. They cannot visit public spaces such as pools, fitness centers or restaurants. Visitors who still want to come must be prepared to pack food or have food delivered from restaurants that offer delivery service to the front door. Be advised to Google search restaurants offering such services before planning your trip during the quarantine period. Maui Kamaole itself is a low rise, low density complex with very few enclosed public areas (no elevators, no enclosed hallways, no enclosed reception) or other enclosed areas. Each unit has it's own entrance and of course, private kitchens and eating areas. All A/C is individual in each unit with individual window A/C units. As such, any chance of contact within a public space is very much reduced compared to hotel or apartment style condos . As an owner, I am in touch with my on-island agent who is continuously in touch with local, state and federal officials instituting the latest preventive measures.
