Located between Kaanapali and Napili, close to the shops of Whalers Village, the stellar boardwalk beaches of Kaanapali, and the historic town of Lahaina. Easy to find, Honokowai Palms is located directly across from an island favorite Honokowai Beach Park. The park is enjoyed by keikis (children) and adults alike – play, wade, swim, swing, sunbathe, relax, and enjoy the awe-inspiring sunsets of Maui, it’s all waiting for you! You’ll find the convenience to the Farmers Market, local grocers, outdoor markets, organic foods, coffee shop, eateries, bike, and beach equipment rentals cannot be beat. Roll your bags through the front door (absolutely no stairs) and you will see right out to your tropically surrounded private lanai and even catch an ocean view. Fully and newly equipped with a lanai off the living room connecting you to great outdoor space. A1- There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a high quality queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Works great for a family of 4 with kids on the sofa sleeper. Ideal for a couple's romantic vacation or a girls getaway. Q2 – How close are amenities such as grocery stores, gift shops, and restaurants? A2 – You’re basically centrally located to all things on Maui's sunny west side. Several within walking distance or within 5 minutes by car. Whaler’s Village with its classic Hawaiian restaurants and shopping in the center of the Kaanapali boardwalk is 8 minutes by car. Lahaina is 12 minutes by car. Medical clinic is 3 minutes by car. Napili’s famous beach lagoon is 10 minutes by car. Location is a great base camp for west side activities. Q3 – What’s the pool like? A3- Nice but not fancy. A good sized pool in private surroundings, maintained each day, warm temperature, and typically not crowded. There are ample lounge chairs for sunbathing and a covered sitting area. Q4 – What’s the WIFI situation? A4 – Free basic cable for the 60" HDTV and free WIFI in the unit. Q4 – What’s the beach like? Honokowai Beach Park is literally a stone’s throw from Unit A4, you might hit the water with a good arm! It is a well-maintained public park with many amenities including a large flat grassy area for games, multiple BBQ areas and picnic tables, restrooms, swing sets, and play equipment. Many visitors get their lunch at the Farmers Market or grab a cup of coffee in the morning and walk over to the beach park to enjoy the views. You will see an even balance of locals and tourists. Both whales and turtles are frequently seen from this specific park! There is a lot of sandy beach area for lounging and sunbathing and several beautiful trees that provide natural shade. The water is ideal for protected wading as there is a reef break just off the beach. There is an outer reef break for surfing on the southern edge, however this is not a body surfing/boogie board type beach (Tip: The northern edge of Kaanapali boardwalk with golden sand for miles is 15 minutes walking distance from the unit, 2 minutes by car - Beach Access clearly marked blue and white sign across the street from the Times Grocer. For perhaps the best swimming beach in all of Maui we like to set up half way between Dukes beach restaurant and Blackrock - fabulous golden sand beach location!) Q5 - We're ready to book, what's next? A5 - Click "Book It" or "Pay" - your itemized bill will include: nightly rate x number of nights and a one time Cleaning Fee of $95. State of Hawaii taxes (known as GET and TAT -13.42% is based on the rate x nights plus the cleaning fee). The Service Fee to your booking website can vary depending on whether domestic or foreign booking and what travel protection options you may choose. WIFI is Free, Cable is Free, Parking for one car is Free. Q6 – Directions from the airport? A6 – 29 miles, typically 45 minutes or so depending on your plane's arrival time. Once on island, you’re on island time - so we suggest just going with the flow. You’ll likely take HW 380 to HW 30 towards Lahaina. After you've driven past Lahaina exits you will see several exits to Kaanapali. Just north of these exits a mile or so is Lower Honoapiilani Rd. (which is a well marked light with turn lane). You will go left at that light to 3666 Lower Honoapiilani Rd. about a mile up on the right to Honokowai Palms. Pull into parking spot A4 which is the first building nearest the water, key in, and kick back. Q7 – Do you offer discounts? A7 – Generally no, we provide great value already! All bookings are made through VRBO/Home Away affiliates to ensure no double booking. Q8 – Do you have parking? Assigned spot A4 in front of unit is convenient and free! Any additional vehicles must park offsite. Q9 – How does check-in work? A9-We will provide you instructions for key access via VRBO email prior to your arrival. The units are professionally cleaned after each guest by third party housekeeping service. We provide ample fresh towels and upon request we can arrange housekeeping to provide you fresh towels during your stay. Please do not wash any towels or linens, housekeeping takes care of it with their commercial machines! The on-site manager provides grounds keeping and common area services only. If any issues or questions come up during your stay just call us! Q10 – What are check-in and check-out times? A10 – Check-in is 3:00 pm. Check-out is 11:00 am. We will ask for your specific arrival date and time and departure date and time during the process so we can ensure your room is ready for you and provide timely room key information. Q11 - Should we rent a car? A11- Yes, most guests will want a car to explore the sites, shops and beaches of Maui. If you plan to mostly stay put and walk or bus while on island, it is possible to shuttle from the airport as well - public bus service is nearby. Q12 - How do we check out?
