We enjoyed our stay, it was close to plenty of restaurants and shopping. It was nice to be able to park, and not have to pay for parking in the Kona area. It was nice to leave the door open and listen to the waves crashing all night. Loved the stay, and we would highly recommend it!

This was the perfect place to round out our visit to the Big Island! We stayed here for our last 4 nights after touring around the rest of the island. The place is well-stocked for folks who want to do their own cooking for meals, but also within walking distance to a number of restaurants if eating out is preferred. We appreciated having the snorkel masks there to borrow-- they got plenty of use down at Two Step Beach at Honaunau Bay and nearby Kahalu'u Beach Park. The condo was very clean, quiet, and had an awesome view of the ocean. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful condo! We hope to find you again next time we visit!

We absolutely loved this condo! The views were SPECTACULAR, and we ate breakfast and dinner out on the balcony every single day. There were plenty of towels, the kitchen was fully stocked, and there were a lot of great extras like beach chairs, an umbrella, snorkel gear, and binoculars for looking out on the ocean. The resort was also walkable to a lot of great restaurants and the surrounding area felt very safe. Parking was no problem every day. We would recommend this place to any one visiting Kona!

Every moment the sounds of waves were present. Every evening, the sunsets were gorgeous and different. Every day the short walk into Kona was an easy 10 minutes, yet every walk back took us to complete seclusion.
We will return, because we will never be disappointed at the Kona Reef.

We have stayed at the Kona Reef on 3 different occasions. We like the location of the property since it is close to town and an easy walk. The ocean view from this unit is terrific. Out of the 3 units we have stayed in all of which were ocean font units we liked this unit the most. Stephanie was very quick to respond to questions we had prior to getting to the island and was very prompt to respond to some very minor issues we had once there. The communication was great! The unit is nice with a very comfortable bed and an adequate amount of kitchen utensils to prepare meals. Overall we had a great experience and will be contacting Stephanie again in the near future for another stay.

A daily ring side seat to to surf and sun and the occasional dolphin. Condo is well appointed. New couch arrived while we were here. And without back pillows can serve as a bed for someone under 6 feet. Owner provided beach chairs, towels, cooler, pool noodles all of which appreciated. Dish and cookware is basic but functional. Owner easy to communicate with and very responsive. Also nice condo is up one short flight of stairs from street.

My wife and I were looking for a relaxing place to vacation in Kailua Kona. This condo has a great view from the lanai to have dinner or just watch the ocean. The condo is clean and well-maintained. The owner is communicative and accommodating. I walked to restaurants, coffee, and shops every day. A short drive from the best coffee anywhere. Would stay there again.

If you like being on top of the ocean, you will love this condo! Aside from the beautiful setting, the condo has been updated and was extremely comfortable and had everything you could possibly need.
The owner was extremely responsive and accommodating. It was so nice being able to walk into downtown Kona and not have to worry about where to park the car. So

What a lovely place! Every single morning we ate our breakfast on the lanai and watched the surfers. The home was spotless, and it had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook and prepare meals. There was also a cooler that we used daily to transport our food and drinks to all the places we went. We loved that the had a washer and dryer in the unit! They also had snorkeling gear which we used at several places. If you don’t want to cook, you are within east walking distance of several yummy places, and we also walked to pick up groceries:) Great spot!

This is a beautiful spot within walking distance from Kona Village. The condo is as advertised. Stephanie is very responsive and great to work with. We had one little issue with the TV and a maintenance guy came right away and fixed it. The kitchen is well equipped...we did a lot of cooking. The view from the lanai is amazing. The condo complex is great with nice pool/hot tub and barbecue area and they keep it very secure. The only room for improvement would be updating the air conditioner. Works fine but is old and a little noisy. The bedroom is against the outside wall to the hallway and close to the parking lot, so it can be loud, particularly in the mornings when people are loading up to go places. It would be a good idea to put up some type of blinds in the bedroom as well as the upper windows let in a lot of light from the hallway all night. These are very minor issues. Overall a great stay at an excellent price.

This beachfront unit took care of all of our needs. There was no need to search for other beaches when you’re on one. The tide pools are right in front of us. You can always lounge on the lanai and read if you don’t want to do any sightseeing or other activities. And the sunsets were spectacular, and we didn’t have to leave our condo to enjoy them every evening.

This condo is just as described and pictured. I mean seriously, just feet from the ocean! Beautiful view from the balcony and awesome sunsets! From the thoughtful welcome goodies to the supplied amenities, it was one of the best condos we have stayed in. Stephanie was very responsive to my questions before we went and sent lots of great information for the island. We were able to walk to many restaurants easily as well as the ABC store to pick up any quick items. The condo was very clean and the bed was comfy. Don’t hesitate to book this…you won’t be disappointed!

Such a lovely condo and property in an excellent location! Easy walk to Restaurants. Short drive to west side beaches and activities. Spent a ton of time on the balcony watching waves crash and sometimes a few surfers. Gorgeous sunsets. Cooked fresh fish on the common area grills. Hot tub was very nice. The area below the condo has some foot traffic but nothing noisy or distracting. Exceeded our expectations.

We enjoyed our stay in this condo for two. Our favorite part was the view from the lanai. Most of our condo time and all meals were enjoyed on the lanai. When the waves picked up, we had surfers out our window from sunrise to sunset. The location is within walking distance of the touristy restaurants and shops, and within short drives to other wonderful restaurants and breweries. Swim and snorkeling beaches are close drives. We were grateful when we used the snorkel gear, beach chairs and ice chest we found on the lanai. The A/C in the unit combined with ceiling fans kept us comfortable for sleeping. The small, recently remodeled bathroom was nice. The efficient kitchen was fine for two people. The pool area was clean and we never found it crowded. Parking in lot or under structure was always available. Communication with the owner has been excellent.

We loved our time at the condo! It was the perfect walking distance location for doing local shopping, eating, and tourist fun. We also rented a car, and it was central to everything we wanted to see and do whether it was north or south of us. When he came "home" for the day it was a peaceful and clean place to relax and the lanai was our favorite! This was our first time to Hawaii and the best place to celebrate 25 years of marriage! A stone’s throw from the ocean with soothing sounds of the surf and excellent views of the sunset, this condo was perfect for us. Bed was comfortable and the bath and kitchen was recently upgraded. This was our first visit to Hawaii and we couldnt have been in a better place to enjoy and explore.
It was in such a perfect location to venture out on foot and see all the wonders of Kona. We loved eating at the Fish Hopper. The bed was comfy and loved our sunsets on the launi.

Our stay at the kona reef was excellent. The location of the unit was perfect. Just far enough from the congested areas but a quick walk to the bars and restaurants in coconut grove.
The unit itself was nice. The bed was confirtable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The AC doesn’t blow into the bedroom but it stayed cool enough to sleep comfortably. The view from the patio is amazing. We could have sipped drinks on the patio and watched the waves crash into the rocks for hours. We also spotted spinner dolphins and turtles from the unit!
We will likely book this same unit next time we visit the Kona coast.
Hot tip: find out what night they do the luau at the royal kona resort next door. You can order drinks at the bar and watch the whole show for free from the bar/pool area.

We enjoyed our stay at this condo at Kona Reef. The Kona Reef complex is ideally located right on the ocean and within walking distance of the shops and restaurants at the south end of Kailua-Kona. The complex is not too big and has nice amenities. The barbecue area was great with new barbecue grills. We loved the salt water pool that was just the right temperature- refreshing but not cold. We met several friendly neighbors at the pool and barbecue area.
The condo itself is in a great spot. We always choose a condo with an ocean view when we travel to the islands. This condo had the best view of any that we have stayed in. We spent many hours relaxing on the Lanai, watching spinner dolphins, turtles, fisherman, parasailers, cruise ships , and sunsets. It was our own private theater! The condo was comfortable. The kitchen has been updated and is well stocked. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed having the large flat screen tv in the bedroom. The bathroom could be updated but it was functional and there was a nice shower head with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. It was very humid the first two days we were there and took us a while to figure out how to get the bedroom to a comfortable temperature for sleeping. Most nights just having the windows open and the fans going worked fine. We did have to run the a/c a couple of nights.
There a couple of housekeeping issues that should be addressed. The bedroom carpet and the rugs in the living room and Lāna’i need a thorough cleaning. We removed our shoes in the condo but our feet were black from the carpets. The bathtub could use an upgrade. Until then a bath mat would be a good safety feature as the non slip surface has worn away. The shower curtain liner has mildew growing and needs to be replaced. These are all minor issues and can be easily remedied.
Overall, this condo is a great value. An ocean view like this at under $200/night is incredible. We would definitely stay here again.

This condo was a great fit for us --- close to Kona restaurants and waterfront. Traffic congestion can be problematic in Kona so this condo's location allows you to avoid the car, parking, etc when checking out Kona. The condo is clean and well appointed. We didn't need to run the AC -- fans were fine. The lanai is perfectly situated for morning coffee and sunsets. We used the communal BBQ regularly. Close to a local beach. Wouldn't hesitate to return for another stay!

Spent January 14 to 24, 2018 at the Condo. Everything promised in the VRBO write up was delivered!
This was our first experience with a VRBO rental and we were a little apprehensive of what we were getting ourselves in to. When we arrived condo was clean and ready to accept 2 tired travellers. Morning revealed a lanai with a truly great ocean view and a table and chairs waiting for us to have coffee overlooking everything. The lanai was also a great place for watching sunsets which never disappointed.
We were minutes from downtown Kona and wouldn't have needed to rent a car had we planned to remain only in Kona as all restaurants etc. were within easy walking distance of the condo.
Stephanie was accessible for any questions on the condo which were few and easily answered.
Would definitely be our first choice should we be back on the island.

We stayed for 7 days at this wonderful condo. Easy check in check and out with Stephanie. Rooms were clean and well stocked. We very much enjoyed the lanai in the mornings the pool and small beach areas. What amazing sunsets and beautiful views. Often we saw turtles at waters edge and whales in the distance. There is nothing more relaxing than the sound of the water hitting the rocks just a stones throw from the deck!

We were both sick on this trip so stayed in the condo more than we had anticipated and it was extremely comfortable. It is within walking distance to everything on Ali'i drive. The ocean crashing outside the doors is wonderful for sleeping. We plan to stay again as soon as we can.

we recently stayed in your condo at the Kona Reef and had a wonderful time...the condo was just as lovely as the photos depict and we found it clean and ready for us upon arrival. The condo is nicely decorated and had all the things we needed including an outdoor BBQ. My favorite was the large lanai overlooking the ocean...we spent mornings out there with our coffee watching the early morning surfers, and enjoyed evening sunsets with a glass of wine. We enjoyed meals out at good nearby restaurants, all withing walking distance...breakfast at Lava Java was wonderful and dinners there come with local entertainment...BYOB...they open for free. We also had fun at Huggos on the sand...fun place for happy hour. Good snorkeling at Kahalu'u Beach park...lots of fruit at the Farmers Market nearby...this condo is in a great location for getting around Kona by foot or by car for places farther away. We loved a hike in Kilauea Iki Crater...a long drive, but worth the visit.
Stephanie was really helpful in responding to emails and answering questions quickly....I would definitely recommend this condo to family and friends...great spot on the beach in a great location...we loved it!

Stephanie's condo is on the 2nd floor and directly face the ocean, it's almost in the ocean!! Starting every day of our vacation watching the surfers while enjoying local fresh fruits on the Lani was exactly what we hoped for. The sound of the surf crashing was very relaxing and soothing at night. The unit is well maintained, fully equipment and meets every aspect of our needs. We are very happy with this clean and very comfortable place.
The location of the condo is very convenient, only two blocks walk into the town of Kialua-Kona which has a bunch resturants and coffee shops.
I was worried about the parking when i saw the previous review, but actully it was not a problem at all. There was enough parking spots in the property, we can easliy find a parking even if we got back super late.
Stephanie is very friendly and easy to work with.
We love this place and return again next year.

We could not have enjoyed this terrific one-bedroom condo more. It is very nicely furnished and colorful, with an efficient kitchen and cozy living room, all pictured well in the photos we looked at prior to making our reservation. One of our favorite places to relax was on the lanai, which has chairs that are high enough to see over the balcony railing, a huge plus. It was a fabulous place to eat a meal, read, or just watch the ocean with a great view. The owners are very organized with information regarding things to see and do, plus how-to for the condo appliances and equipment, keys, etc. The location is excellent with many restaurants and shops nearby within walking distance. Also, many activities are available in close proximity so it's easy to find something fun to do without necessarily driving a long distance. We will absolutely return to this great place many more times in the future and recommend it to anyone wanting a romantic get-away or a super vacation for two.

You can't beat the views from the lanai at this condo. We bailed on going out for umbrella drinks every night just because the lanai offered such a stellar view of sunsets. Our own happy hour was better. We also ate breakfast on it and sometimes lunch and dinner. Fun to watch net anglers, turtles, boogie boarders, paddleboarders, outriggers, parasailers, cruise ships, and sailboats parade by.Being right on the beach was fabulous. Due to its location, we took only a few trips elsewhere; it was so enjoyable just to lounge around the condo.
The owners are absolutely conscientious. When we arrived, the condo was not ready, due to a miscommunication with the cleaning girl. But the owners got on it immediately, and it was soon ready for us. They also helped us out with getting the Internet to function when the password wouldn't work.
We also loved the pool, hot tub, and barbecue cabana area. Very clean! Usually we had the pool and hot tub to ourselves from 8-10 in the morning, and we loved barbecuing on grills that someone else cleaned. The condo sits two blocks via a back road walk from the Kona strip shopping area, so we could pop to the farmer's market, bakery, and ABC store and enjoyed morning walks down to the Ironman swimming start.
Nice to have beach chairs, coolers, and beach towels to use, too.

My wife and I stayed at Stephanie's condo over the Labor Day Holiday. The condo was immaculate! We enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the waves (if you leave the patio doors open, or you can close for silence if you prefer). The bed was super comfortable, the kitchen had all of the necessities and the porch overlooking the ocean was absolutely peaceful. It was a perfect walking distance to downtown Kona as well, with plenty of restaurants and shops. Stephanie was more than accommodating with any requests or questions we had. I would highly recommend this condo and plan to return in the future!

We arrived after 9PM, but found our way into the condo without a problem. We found it ready to go, clean and ready for our arrival. It was even better than discribed as it sits right on the ocean front with views of cruise ship arrivals, surfers, para sailers, outrigger canoes, dolphins, party boats, paddlers, and many other things to make you want to spend time in the Lanai. We found it only minutes to all the activity on Alii street, and Kailua town. Shops, restruants, and water activities withing walking distance. We found everything we needed in the condo, including a washer-dryer, air conditioning, cable TV, iron, well laid out kitchen with all the pans and utensils needed. The owners seemed to have thought of everything. All the restruants we tried were great, so we picked them according to the view they provided of Kailua Harbor and downtown activities. We liked the Island Breeze Luau, and the Atlantis Submarine. Hapuna Beach was the best, and try Waimea to cool off. Akaka Falls and the Volcano are a must on first time visit. The farmers market in town should be the first stop before you buy souveniers any where else for its great local selections and prices. Once a month they close Alii Drive in town and have a big market day so check to see if it falls on a day you are there. We were fortunate enough to stay almost a month and found it very hard to leave. We would totally recommend this particular condo to our friends.
