Overall, we had a nice stay. The owner, Michael allowed us to have an early check-in, which was very nice. We had a bit of a cleaning issue when we arrived. Vacuum and cleaning supplies inside the condo allowed us to tidy up for ourselves.
The neighbor next door clearly does not like short-term renters. Be as quiet as a mouse in the hallway and hopefully you will have no issues.
Pros: easy to get to lots of great beaches- right on main street/ intersection. Easy parking. On the beach!
Cons: Building is quite a bit run down- very thin walls- we heard the people above us often. 2/3 of the sleeping areas face the parking lot, and very bright parking lot lights shine through the curtains. Blackout blinds would be great here. Lots of road noise too if you like to sleep with windows open.

We just returned from our stay.
The place is as advertised. Very nice, well kept 2 Bedroom condo right on the beach. The condo had everything we needed for our stay. Lots of parking, beautiful courtyard area with BBQ facilities. Owner was very easy and a pleasure to deal with. We return again in the future if they would have us. Thank you again Michael.

There was construction ongoing which eliminated the use of the pool, but since our youngest guest had ear infections we couldn’t use the pool anyway. The condo was clean, and Michael provided us with a pack’n’play and a high chair and a stroller. We brought our own mattress for the baby. There is an elevator, the beach is right behind the building, the grounds were very nice, there was an outdoor BBQ area complete with 3 gas grills and a small refrigerator, basically an outdoor kitchen. There were tables, chairs, and loungers in that area, plus an outdoor shower area to wash off the sand when leaving the beach, mere steps away. There was always parking available for our rental car, at no extra charge, and no cleaning fee, so we made sure to treat the place as though it was our own, as we really appreciated that. We vacuumed regularly as the beach sand is difficult to keep out. There were beach toys in the BBQ area for children, and we added to that when we left. The kitchen was well supplied and it was obvious to us that Michael and his wife put a lot of thought into what a visitor might need: dishware, appliances etc. we had a very enjoyable week there.

Our stay was nice for our family of 6. Because one of our kids is 2, it felt small after a week but that could just be our circumstances. There was not much snorkeling here because the water wasn’t clear, but the boys loved the pool.

Roomy for 4-6 with two bedrooms, two bathrooms one hide-a-bed. 2nd floor room with elevator assist. Beachfront, at a central location to get anywhere on the island. It met or exceeded our homey expectations. Will come back if available next time we come.

First off, the location is perfect. Sugar beach is just a sweet little beach, perfect for walking, swimming and snorkeling. My husband and son saw mantas, turtles, octopus and tons of fish on the coral reef just to the west of the rental.
We woke up every morning and watched the sun rise, and the sunset is the real show on this beach!
The ABC store has your basics, the ululani shave ice is some of the best we had on the island (perfect for those sunsets) and the bakery is a perfect treat in the morning, all a short beach walk in the morning!
The condo was updated and perfectly clean. Towels and linens were nice, and the beach towels and chairs worked great for us and were so nice to have. If you don’t feel like getting sandy, the lawn is great too, set up with grills and lots of lounge chairs.
Location for the island is perfect. Close to everything and central for the long drives. We used the pull out couch and my son said it was comfy. (He is 12 so he isn’t picky but worked great for him!)
Michael is attentive and easy to reach when needed. We would stay again in a heartbeat. It’s a hard place to leave!

Loved the beach access and common outdoor space. Walkable to bakery, abc store and shave ice! Some shareable sand toys which was nice and kids loved the pool! We had a power outage while there and some crazy winds one night but it’s a great spot for road trips on the island. Not walkable to other general Kihei restaurants but fine since we had a car. The kitchen was stocked for basic spices and cooking spray and olive oil which is really helpful!

This is probably the 5th time over several years that we have stay at Michael's place in Nani Kai Hale.... need I say more! If you are looking for a smaller quiet beach condo adjacent to beautiful Sugar Beach that delivers stunning sunsets then look no further. Nani Kai Hale is the place to be and Michael & Michelle are the best owner/hosts delivering the Aloha Spirit.

This place is GREAT for a small family & the location is perfect. You have a partial ocean view & steps from the beach. There is a bathroom in 1 of the bedrooms which is GREAT for a couple & a bathroom out in the common area. This place is nice & pretty inexpensive for Maui, I would definitely recommend it.

Mike's property is absolutely perfect for a family wanting to be close to the beach with all the conveniences of home. The condo was spotless and it has been recently updated. I rent properties on VRBO and trust me, Mike knows what he's doing. His communication and checkin procedure is wonderful. Loved the partial view of the ocean, pool and barbecue area. The property was well taken care of and clean. It was a tight space for 6 people but we knew that going in and it worked out. The beds were comfy enough and the space was bright and open. What really made it for us was the location. The beach was beautiful and sandy with no rocks. It wasn’t good for snorkeling but perfect for playing and lounging in the water. The pool was warm and clean and there was plenty of chairs and space for beach and pool. The beach area was beautiful and had pretty lights for at night. There is an ululani’s shave ice a couple blocks away which was fun to have. Michael was easy to chat and deal with and the whole process was very smooth. Definitely recommend!

Clean and cozy. This spot was affordable for my group, centrally located for all Maui has to offer. Great back patio/yard area with string lights and grills, literally right on the beach front. The management was incredibly kind and understanding as well.

We had an excellent stay at Nani Kai Hale #202 from Christmas Eve until New Year’s Eve Day. Michael, our host, had everything we needed for our young granddaughter (pack-and-play, high chair, and stroller) waiting for us upon arrival. Beach chairs, beach towels and coolers were also available for our use. The pool and BBQ area were great and we used the BBQ area for our granddaughters’ first birthday party. The beach area of the condo was clean and quiet and you could literally walk for miles from the condo on the beach. The unit itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The appliances were newer and the kitchen was equipped with utensils and supplies for cooking/eating inside or at the BBQ area. We had a rental car for the week, so we were able to enjoy the great restaurants and shave ice in Kihei and experience all of Maui with this wonderful unit as our home base. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone planning to visit Maui.

Michael's unit in Kihei already has us planning our next visit! A well-appointed 2 bed/2 bath unit was a must for us as my husband and I were bringing my mom to Hawaii for her first visit. Michael's unit surpassed our expectations!! Plus the beautiful ocean front area with soft Sandy beaches & stunning sunsets was just steps from our door. 10/10 would recommend!!

The condo had some upgrades to the kitchen that aren't well reflected in the pictures. There was air conditioning in all rooms which was great. The condo is older, and not all rooms were updated. But as long as you know that ahead of time, there shouldn't be any problem. The location has a pool on site, and it is right in front of the beach. You also have a little bakery and shave ice just a 5 min walk away. There are not any restaurants within a quick walking distance which is a downfall. You definitely need a rental car if you are staying here. But other then that, the place worked out fine for my family.

The property is cute. It was a bummer that the washer n dryer was not in the condo. You had to get quarters and do it out side unit. Pool was freezing during day. Not enough towels. Not enough blankets. We thought there would be a better view. It was ok though., it would have been nice to have boogie boards or sand things. It was ok tho. Overall it was comfortable, cute, and barbecue area was cool. It was a good experience overal
