We loved the condo, every detail is taken care of inside. High end appliances, extremely clean, and communication and support from the owner was top notch. The only reason I rated the overall 4 stars is at the end the lack of amenities at the building and area make it hard to justify the extreme cost. I would highly recommend to any family that intends to cook most meals and is not looking for building amenities(only attached store was only open 7-12 with no food options) this place offers you everything else

We really enjoyed the views and relaxing atmosphere of the VRBO. Plenty of space for 6 of us to spread out, make breakfast, and enjoy coffee on the patio with a great view of the resort and the ocean!

The condo was fully equipped with beach toys, chairs, laundry and dish soap, kitchen supplies, towels etc. No need to bring anything, just clothes! We would definitely stay here again in Maui!

This property was exactly as promised. It's in a great location, it's incredibly well maintained and the property manager made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We were impacted by the recent wildfire in Lahaina and had to evacuate at 3am but it was done safely and things remained orderly. Our hosts, Sean and Christine stayed in communication with us and made sure we were safe and they were fantastic to work with. I would highly recommend their place to anyone looking to stay on the island. I definitely plan to return.

We love staying at this property and this particular unit was perfect for our family. First off, the owners were very responsive to my email inquires before arriving and their onsite manager also reached out in case we needed anything. The unit was clean, the view was breathtaking, the beds were so comfortable and the A/C unit works very well when needed. There was plenty of space for everyone in our party. We will definitely be back!

Took the family. 5 adults, 2 kids. Loved the pools and beach. Kid’s snorkeled and saw lots of fish. Kids loved feeding the cats along the beach. I used the grill twice and cooked up some prawns, chicken and fish. Yummy. Saw a sea turtle along beach. We also did glass blowing, a sunset dinner cruise and a luau. Dukes is a great restaurant and has a great staff.

Our stay in this property was lovely. The place is exactly as pictured and more beautiful in person. The pools were great and Duke's was right there to feed us. I would highly recommend!

We took our family of four to Maui for a week and searched dozens of units nearly a year in advance. We were not disappointed with the selection of this unit. The pictures were on point, the location is either a short walk or a short drive to everything you need. The unit had all the amenities to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay.
Sean and his team were very responsive and gave great direction on utilizing the unit and also provide some inside tips to further enjoy your time in Maui.
We stayed at the tail end of the what appears to be a massive paint job of the property (looks great) and the property should look even more enjoyable within weeks as the lifts are soon moving off property.

We chose this condo, as it was very hard to find an adequate space for an extended family of 8. We had middle-aged adults, grandparents, and children, and this was perfect. The location was stunning, and Sean and his property manager made our stay easy. The condo was clean and stunning, and we were able to utilize the kitchen for some great meals! The beach was fantastic, and if you want to snorkel, walk a bit to the first Westin hotel where you have access to an amazing reef!

This condo had everything we needed to start our daily adventures, relax and sleep comfortably at the end of the day, and/or relax on the beach on the couple lazy days we left in our itinerary. A bathroom for every bedroom. Comfortable and beautiful condo with an amazing view and access to all area activities. Garage parking was a pleasant and convenient bonus. Would definitely recommend!

We loved our time at Houna Kai!! This Condo was beautifully appointed and very comfortable for the six adults in our party. The views from the balcony can't be beat and we loved how the windows in the main living could be completely pushed to the side to make the most of the beautiful weather. Check-in went smoothly and was quick. Having the beach chairs was a great feature. We loved walking and running along the boardwalk that runs parallel to the beach.
We didn't have any issues, but we were a bit disappointed that the property was in the middle of a painting project and so our view during the day included looking at two huge cranes...I paid extra for this unit so that we could look at the ocean, not at work equipment. So, be sure to ask if there is any work scheduled for the property. Also, one of the condos above us was having tile removed...the noisy work was only happening between 10 am - 3pm and we were mostly gone during that time, but again, not the most relaxing thing to have going on during a vacation. Just be sure to ask about work happening on the property so you can set your expectations accordingly.

Really great location. Close to grocery stores. The unit itself is fantastic. Great views of the ocean. Most part very clean and tidy. Beach was lovely. The resort was nice however there were a few days that one pool and hot tubs were closed that led to the remaining pools being overcrowded. A lot of BBQ’s around the property. Owners were very quick to respond and a delight to deal with! Would very very highly recommend this property!!!

The unit is beautiful and the view is breathtaking!! Everything about this place was amazing and we would 100% stay here again! All the basics were supplied, toilet paper, paper towels, bath towels, spices, coffee filters, soaps, etc. The beach supply closet was impressive!! Enough beach chairs for 5+ people, umbrellas, a cooler, sand toys, boogie boards. Kitchen was gorgeous and the rooms were comfy! Can’t wait to come back and stay here again! Mahalo!

Lovely place to stay. This was our 4th trip to Maui but first time with VRBO. The communication prior to our arrival and during our stay was very timely. The unit was very nice. It had almost everything thing we could want. We really appreciated the parking pass for the parking garage, the multi-plug chargers on the nightstands, and the views. We would definitely return. Just a couple of items could make it absolutely perfect- cushions for the furniture on the lanai, spray cleaner for the countertops, and a dish drying rack. Yes, it was hard to find things to talk about under areas of improvement. The dryer did take a very long time to dry the clothes (yes, small loads) but worked well overall. The area around the stove needs to be cleaned but again it was a top notch rental experience. The pools and beach were outstanding. We would recommend staying here and will probably stay here again in the future.

Is was our first time staying in a condominium resort we usually book hotels and we don’t regret it it had everything to accommodate my whole family 3 beds 3 baths big kitchen with nice counter tops nice appliances pools, spas restaurants store and the best of all was the view to the ocean me and my grandson spent quite some time in the balcony definitely will stay there again and highly recommend this property

This condo had everything we needed for a group of 6 adults and 2 kids. The size of the condo was perfect! And the lanai was an amazing spot for us to gather for breakfast, sunsets, drinks, and even coloring with the kids. You can’t beat the view! And the amenities of the resort were amazing from the pools, to the gym, to Duke’s bar and restaurant. And every activity we did outside of the resort was within a 15 minute drive. The location was close to everything! The condo and resort were perfect for our Maui vacation!

Wow! Look no further…this is the perfect vacation spot! The views are absolutely breathtaking from every room! My husband and I were celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary…and decided to take along our two boys (14 and 9), as well as, my parents. The hosts were AMAZING and quickly responded to any questions my family had over the past several months! The resort is beautiful and conveniently located to everything within Kaanapali Beach! We had our best family vacation here ever! And we go plenty of places. This honua kai condo is gorgeous with beautiful straight on views of pool then ocean beyond that! There were 8 of us and everyone loved this place! Grounds are immaculate, as is the condo. Staff in this resort and at Dukes is great!! This is a must stay kinda place! My kids are adults but this place is very welcoming to children too. 5/5 !!!

This gorgeous three bedroom/three bath condo is simply the best! It is beautifully appointed with lovely and comfortable furnishings and beds, high-end appliances, and the most incredible views from the lanai. It is located in a wonderful resort with all the amenities one could need. The owner was very kind and responsive to all of our questions before and during our stay. The condo is very open, airy, and spacious and there was a ton of room for our family of 5. We will definitely be back!

Sean/ Christine were great hosts with prompt communication. The room had a beautiful view and was perfect for our needs. Monty was super helpful as well while we there. There was a cafe in the lobby with solid food options and smoothies. The beaches were super close and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The one improvement is that the trash chute room (this is not in the room) could have been a little cleaner but that’s an issue with the condo complex itself. Overall I would definitely come back and stay here. Thanks Sean, Christine and Monty!!

This is our third stay in this unit, our 4th at Honua Kai. It’s perfectly equipped with everything you need, including gorgeous views. The property manager was amazing - easy to get in contact with via text with so in the information we needed to check in and out. He even checked in mid stay just in case we needed anything. Five stars are not enough for how amazing this unit is.

We couldn't have been more pleased with this condo at the Honua Kai. The room is impeccable--new appliances and very clean. It has a beautiful view of the ocean. We also noticed that we couldn't hear neighbors, and hopefully they couldn't hear our 2 year old too! The property is so great for families with three pools, including a slide, Duke's right onsite, and plenty of room to run around and play. Our hosts were great with communication and they also had a few extra pool and beach toys that really helped. Couldn't recommend this option more!

Amazing place to stay! Pools and hot tubs were great although lounge seats were limited after 10am. Amazing beach sunsets, saw a few sea turtles in the afternoons. We enjoyed making breakfast in the nice kitchen and eating out on the balcony. We weren't able to eat at the restaurant but they offer takeout if you've had a long day exploring the island that's a great option. Highly recommend!

We had two small families sharing the condo and it was perfect. The floor plan is open and airy with two ensuites for the adults and a kid room. The location of the unit provided beautiful views and was well appointed. Great time was had by all and we’ll definitely be back.

Our issue is that pool,, bar and on site restaurant too small for the size of place. I’m sure some of this is Covid related but impossible to get to pool chairs or get into restaurant. Other than that great place and condo in a perfect viewing spot with a great layout for families!!!!

This property was perfect for our stay. We had originally planned this last summer with 7 family members but COVID happened and then only four of the 7 could make the trip. The views are amazing. The overall property, Honua Kai, is beautifully maintained. There is a great 2 mile+ boardwalk mainly along the beach that is not mentioned too often in the reviews. Go out towards the ocean and you will find the boardwalk. Take a left (to the right doesn't go too far) and travel along the water in front of some resorts and homes. Continue through some paths of resorts and if you continue past the Sheraton, you can walk further and end up at the Whaler's Seaside Shops (excellent stores) and more beach walk area to explore and beach area, too. Black Rock beach is about a 2 mile walk and has great snorkeling!! There is a 20+ foot rock face that lots of crazy folk jump off of, too. Monty, the onsite manager, was very responsive to us! There are beach chairs, boogie boards and a snorkel and mask that needed a clip that we put on and left for others to use - works great! Sunsets on the beach, or viewing from the lanai, are amazing and not to be missed! Coffee out on the lanai in the morning is great and relaxing! If you have a large family, or 3 couples, this is a great place to stay!! Thanks, R&M

This spacious condo with views from every room was just perfect for our family of 6! The kitchen is very well equipped and the convenience of the resort to local amenities is great. The coffee shop at the bottom of the elevator has a very good selection of high quality açaí, smoothies, sandwiches, and pastries and was our go-to every morning. Dukes Restaurant is on site. Be sure to get to the pool deck early if you want lounges for the day or opt to reserve covered pool bed lounges in advance. The owners were amazing to work with through Covid, and the reservation team communicated throughout our stay to make sure everything was perfect! We couldn’t have expected a better experience!

My husband and I brought our grown boys and one girlfriend to Maui. The condo exceeded our expectations in every way possible. From the stunning views in all rooms to the gourmet kitchen and appliances, the beds were super comfortable and the decor, along with the furniture were perfect! We enjoyed walking to the beach each day where we swam alongside sea turtles and beautiful fish next to coral reefs. We got Duke’s to go and enjoyed our meal on the spacious balcony overlooking the ocean. We walked to Black Rock several times as well as Whaler’s Village for some shopping. The gym was great….and so convenient! We enjoyed the little coffee/convenience shop in the lobbies. The staff were all very courteous and helpful and the property manager, Monty, checked-in on us throughout our stay to ensure we were good and to see if we needed anything. The boogie boards in the front closet were fun to use and I just can’t wait to go back and stay in this unit…it was a trip of a lifetime! Thank you for opening up your gorgeous home for us!

This condo is beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked, amazing view of the ocean, and the unit is so clean. We were so impressed by the owners. Extremely nice and accommodating. We will be back. This was our 6th visit to Honua Kai and we have found our favorite condo!
