Our Unit was more spacious than we thought based on the photos. I was traveling with my adult son, so having the space was great. It is in an area with grocery, food truck, small park and restaurants within walking.And yes, turtles right there every afternoon! Big bonus: the lawn chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, cooler, super up-to-date guide book. The best sunsets right on our front lanai. No bugs, pleasant neighbors and added bonus - the designated parking spot was always in the shade! Only thought: There is not a beach that you can really walk to. It was great to explore all the beaches by car, but having one right there to eliminate parking hassles and for convenience would have been nice. This would be very important with children IMO.

One of the nicest locations and areas we have seen. Close to a secluded beach area and can walk out to private lawn chairs for sunbathing. Quiet and relaxing! Islands can be seen from your living area- a vision that can not be seen everywhere! Close to hiking, restaurants and beaches- everything you need for an amazing stay.

We enjoyed the stay very much. Perfect location, everything is in good order, comfortable and clean. Lots of turtles and beautiful fish right outside our door for snorkeling. No AC in the bedroom, but we were fine with the fan.

Highly recommend. So great to walk right out to the ocean. Great view of sunset. Not really a beach but there are steps down to the ocean to go snorkeling right there at your condo. Turtles frequent the reef/rocks right there at the condo. Very cool.

Great location to see an abundant amount of wildlife in the ocean behind the condo. Check-in/check-out was super easy. Location of condo was close to popular nearby restaurants, food trucks, and downtown area of Lahaina. If we get to return to Maui, I will be doing my best to book this same location!

We really, for the most part, enjoyed this condo and can recommend it. The location is it’s best feature and can’t be beat - walking out from the lanai to the ocean, to see whales, turtles and moray eels is amazing!!! John’s unit is really well stocked and has everything (boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkel stuff etc) which was super handy. The kitchen has all the essentials and worked well for us (& we cooked all our own meals). I loved the little unpretentious pool which was lovely and was typically almost always empty :) John was an excellent host and was very responsive. The unit is older and looks it - homey, not fancy (& a bit tired - but the price accounts for that). My one bigger issue was the lack of air conditioning in the bedroom- most folks might be just fine with just the fan running, but as a light sleeper who sleeps warm, I found that challenging. There is an air conditioner in the living room but the coolness did not reach the bedroom. Other than that it was great.

Love waking up to the ocean right in front of your face! Amazingly beautiful, peaceful, and calm. We had our family who lives in Lahaina for dinner and the most of the day visiting us because of the sheer beauty of the ocean, place, and area. Honu in front of us all the time, whales because of the time of the year everyday all day long. This is our place when we go to Maui!

We enjoy staying in Honokawai, and staying at John’s condo this year added to that enjoyment. The oceanfront location is fantastic, and it doesn’t get much better than having our morning coffee while watching whales swimming and breeching right in front of us.
We also loved the location of the condo - walking distance to Honokawai Beach Park, Maui Fish (for amazing poke and fresh fish), Okazuya deli, a small farmer’s market, Times Market and even an ABC store.
The kitchen is very functional and the condo was supplied with the basics and more - paper goods, ziploc bags, salt, pepper, spices and cleaning products.

We had a great stay. Whale viewing from the back door. Very nice neighbors that love in the other units. Short walk to essentials. Nice reserved parking spot. Excellent and quick communication with owner. We had a wonderful stay.

We enjoyed having breakfast out on the lanai and later watching the sunset. The host John was very responsive in arranging for the coffee maker to be replaced when we discovered the carafe was broken upon arrival.

Condo was perfect. Relaxing view with great nightly sunsets. Lots of beach equipment & kitchen supplies. Location convenient to markets. Only disappointment was access to beach from neighboring property was blocked due to construction. But lots of nearby beaches north & south of property. And refreshing pool offering both sun & shade. We stayed at John’s condo for two weeks in July. We came for our wedding and vacation with our two children. It is seriously the best view ever! It was so amazing to wake up every morning and watch the ocean while having coffee. There is a little beach that has stairs down to it, this was perfect for snorkeling around and playing with our kids. While it may not be the most updated unit, it is clean, comfortable and the best your money will get you for the price. I am sad we couldn’t stay forever. John is also very helpful and will get back to you immediately if you have any questions or concerns. My husband lived in Lahaina and it was so close to his family and friends which was so convenient. We will be back and would 100% stay here again if it is available. Mahalo John!

This place will make your vacation exponentially more fantastic! Having access to the water right out the back door meant we were able to pack even more snorkeling and turtles into our two week visit. Everything was as good or better than the photos and reviews. We feel so lucky to have found John’s wonderful place!

The condo was well equipped and in a great location. The only con I felt was the beach wasn’t really much of a beach my kids could hang out at. We had to drive to enjoy the beach.

I booked this 1/1 property that was oceanfront. Beautiful views of several islands and the turquoise and blue waters. There are plentiful amount of turtles in the ocean. We were lucky enough to see whales this late in the season. Beautiful, well stocked condo with pullout queen couch, one bathroom and one bedroom with king bed. For convenience, there is a small AC in the living room that we used on the last two nights of our 8 day stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with dinnerware, flatware, glassware, pots and pans. There are beach items in the condo for use. Plenty of towels and two big screen TVS; one in LR and 1 in BR. I would highly recommend renting this condo for the amenities and definitely the views. Just a word of caution and nothing to do with the condo, it is close to the pool by a few steps and there will be loud people, but the pool does close at 9. Thank you, John, for allowing to stay at your wonderful condo and will book again, no hesitation!

This is a great place to stay! There were beach towels, snorkeling equipment, body boards, and beach umbrellas, making it very easy to explore water activities. We saw whales from the balcony every morning(January). It’s so nice to wake up to the ocean. It’s a bit rocky right outside of the balcony but there are plenty of nice sandy beaches nearby. Having a kitchen and a living room was really nice. Definitely will recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We watched whales, turtles and eels right from the condo. You can't beat the view. We were hoping to be able to get in the water from the beach adjacent to the condo but that was a no-go during our December stay. The surf was too high. Perhaps it would work in summer. That was the only bummer for us. The condo was clean and well stocked. The appliances were newish. Boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers, snorkel equipment were all available for our use. The owner was very responsive. The complex is small and didn't feel at all crowded even though it must have been close to capacity Christmas week. We had the pool to ourselves every time we used it.

This property was fine, we had stayed at Kileialoha before, in other units.
There were coolers and beach equipment in this unit for guest use, which was great.
We didn't run out of any supplied consumables, like dishwasher pods, trash bags or TP. Dry goods were covered, and well.
The fridge was great and provided plenty of ice with ease.
The little AC was too loud to keep on. There is no AC in the bedroom. We managed, but the listing could make this clear. The master closet was so stuffed with extra comforters and other bedding we couldn't use it for our own things.
The sheets on the bed were not comfortable, cotton would be great to have in the humidity. But the mattress was good.
The most bothersome issue we had was that the owner did not communicate to us that the grass beyond our lanai was being reseeded during our stay. (The building doing this kind of maintenance during Thanksgiving week was a poor choice, with all the tourists flocking to the islands for the holiday.) The reason we chose a ground floor, oceanside unit was easy access to the beach. This is touted in the ad for the property several times as a selling point, and the unit is priced accordingly. But we did not have that access, as we couldn't cross the grass. A timely warning about this would have been courteous.
Anything with slides: the closet door, the drapes, the screen door, the shower door--was sticking or jammed. Worn, curling rugs on carpeting were tripping hazards.
Combination locks on unit doors would be much more convenient.
Kitchen was great to have, but barren. A small bottle of olive oil left in the fridge or freezer would be kind. My sister stayed in another unit which had condiments and spices we borrowed.
Our family was in town and we had a great time.

The owner is very responsive to my texts. No beach or sand area to play in and noticed lots of rocky areas for anyone looking to sit on a beach. I didn't miss the sandy beach area and fully enjoyed the grassy area and ability to walk straight out from the lanai to the table and chairs to have coffee and enjoy the sunsets. ALOHA
