We had a great experience staying in Kihei Surfside #313.
The unit is very nice. It has a big, spacious, kitchen/dining/living area with beautiful views of the ocean and the West Maui Mountains. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, etc- anything you might need. Not only do they have a good selection of wine and cocktail glasses, they have an extra set made of plastic so that they are allowed at the pool.
The room has great ventilation so if you open the bedroom windows and the doors to the lanai you get a good cross-breeze going and it cools the room down nicely.
The unit is in a fantastic location. It is set back from the pool and main walking area so you donāt have to deal with that noise, but still situated close enough to the shore and high enough that you get great views.
The complex has a nice pool and bbq area, and access to beach chairs that you can set up on the edge of the property to enjoy the waves and island breezes. We relaxed and watched sea turtles, whales, and dolphins as we relaxed on the grassy knoll.
The owner of this unit communicates well and was very responsive. On one of our first nights here we had an issue that required us to call the after-hours emergency number (locked out of the unit)ā¦ somebody showed up to help us in (no exaggeration) under five minutes. Thatās how quick they responded to our call for assistance. Five minutes! The girl who came to help us was super friendly and helpful.
The unit is located a short drive from restaurants and shops in both Walea and Kihei. Probably a five minute drive from anything you may need. We usually walked to Kihei or Walea which took us more like 40 min and was a nice walk, but if you donāt have the time or energy for a walk, the drive is very short.
We highly recommend staying at this unit and we hope to be back soon ourselves.

Very well appointed one bedroom condo on third floor of a beachfront property. A lovely large lawn between the building and the water. Had a plumbing leak our last day and it was attended to immediately. The "no air conditioning" was not a problem...just open the slider and let the trade wind blow thru. It was a really nice two week stay.

We really enjoyed our stay in this unit. The location was great and we loved walking on the beach and seeing turtles! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Appreciated the beach chairs, towels and umbrella. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook some meals.

We had an amazing first time in Maui! The condo location is excellent with a short walk to beaches and quick drive to several dining choices. The condo had everything we needed including beach chairs, umbrella, towels and snorkle fins. Our flight was moved back substantially and Michael the owner was kind enough to give us an additional night at no charge. He let us know before arrival a bathroom remodel and it was complete on our arrival with no issues at all. The view is stunning! Plenty of parking and daily we saw turtles either swimming around the rocks or near the boat launch on the beach to the right of the complex. It's very quiet and peaceful as well. We had planned this to be a bucket list trip and not return but we loved it so much and would 100% stay at this condo again! Mahalo.

My husband and I island hopped from O'ahu to Maui. We love O'ahu but sadly, our stay at another condo was extremely disappointing.
When we arrived at this Kihei condo, we were overwhelmed by the view, the cleanliness and how well appointed the kitchen was!
The Tradewinds and ceiling fans put my worries to rest about not having air conditioning.
Another big plus was having two bathrooms, great WiFi and a pool. The grounds were immaculate; even the chickens and roosters were happy.
There's a wonderful sandy beach next door too! My husband snorkeled in front and saw fish in the harbor next door. The visibility in the water wasn't as clear due to big swells.
The bed was comfortable as was the sofa and recliner. We saw many beautiful sunsets and starry nights that will have lasting memories.

We have stayed at this property a number of times and it has always been amazing. This time, there were a number of issues that, although resolved were disappointing. The toilet in the half bath kept running and at times did not flush. It took 3;repairmen visits to fix it.
The picture in the wall behind the bed fell off the wall during the night- no one was injured but it was annoying. Overall the property looked tired and in need of updating.

I was aware that there is no a/c in the unit and wasn't worried as I enjoy my windows being open especially near the ocean. The problem being that there are roosters on the property that crow at all hours. I understand that there is not much that can be done about this but a heads up would have been appreciated so that myself being a light sleeper could have considered this in agreeing to rent here. This being the main expense of our vacation I would have likely made different arrangements.
The unit itself was not as clean as advertised. it was very dusty and the bedding had a musty unusual smell. We opted to take the sheets off and wash them because of this. Not something that you want to do on day 2 of your vacation. When we needed additional garbage bags and washcloths because there was only one of each in the unit the on island contact was very accommodating. The location and view of the unit is perfect. I was very happy with that and it was just as described.

Building, location, neighbors, were all very good. The facility is located on a beautiful park like setting on the water - awesome!
But our unit was not serviced or cleaned upon arrival. Guest toilet did not flush, Bed unmade, baths and sinks dirty. Cleaners took 90 min to arrive after we called. They stayed for 30min. They did NOT properly clean the floor, sinks, tubs or kitchen appliances. Called owner the next morning and he laughed and said āhang in thereā. Cleaners came back but owner never followed up or checked in.
I personally fixed toilet (flapper chain broke). I was ok with taking care of toilet but owner never acknowledged. We stayed in five different places averaging $500/night over a three week Hawaiian vacation. We expected this unit to be the best but it turned out to be the most disappointing.

This was such a wonderful property, tastefully updated kitchen and condo had everything you could possibly need! Views of the ocean are gorgeous, owner was very responsive to any questions and management at the Surfside are very nice and helpful. Such a great location, watch boat tours leave the Kihei boat harbor in the mornings, watch snorkellers and SUPs and kayakers come see the turtles in the rocks in front of property, walk to Keawakapu beach and Kihei eateries and close to Wailea beaches and shopping. We hope to return again!

Everything was just as advertised, clean and a great location right on the shore. It was well appointed with all the beach gear (chairs, mats, coolers, umbrellas, towels) which was great! The kitchen had all we needed, even a small supply of spices/oil & vinegar/storage bags. Breakfast on the lanai every morning and sunsets on the lawn every night, accompanied with the blow! Turtles and snorkeling right off the shore. Would definitely stay here again. Perfect for a couple looking for a quiet spot on Maui.

The pool was currently under construction (which we were aware of) but it didnāt bother us at all. We slept so wellā¦fantastic, comfortable bed (minus the morning roasters). We hope to return to Surfside next year!

This is a great place to stay if you want a lovely ocean view, tradewinds blowing through and walking access to a great beach. The condo is stocked with everything you need for a stay on Maui. The park next door is a huge bonus for watching the sunset, exercising, or watching the birds.

I have had many stays at the Kihei Surfside and love it there. The property management crew are always great and same people every time we are there. They were doing some major construction and the pool, and BBQ area was closed. We were not told that in advance by the Condo owner. We had been there many times and we were slightly inconvenienced, but if it was a 1st visit, I may have been more unforgiving. It will just make for a MUCH better experience with new wider paths and a new pool. I will always go back.

My husband and I stayed at this property for a week. We absolutely loved the location. Being on the Kihei/ Wailea border was excellent - restaurants, grocery, snorkel gear rental are close by, and it was easy to get to all the beaches in South Maui. We found it quieter than the Ka'anapali area, and it's closer to Haleakala and getting to Road to Hana. Keawakapu Beach is a short walk away from the building. It was one of our favorite beaches and had great snorkeling (saw multiple turtles one morning even though the visability was not good that day.) The view from the condo is excellent, and we absolutely loved the beautiful green lawn which we used nearly every evening to watch the sunset. Having no A/C wasn't a huge issue, but it did get pretty hot during the day. The fan in the bedroom was not helpful at all, but he provides two other portable fans that helped a ton to cool off the room at night. The bedroom and master bath could use some updating, but the condo itself was very clean and the kitchen was wonderful and had everything we needed. Overall, we'd definitely recommend this place if you don't mind not having A/C or washer/dryer in the unit. The views and location are definitely worth it, and Michael was easy to work with.

The unit is situated on a beautiful grassy lawn at the end of Keawakapu Beach. We loved the location for access to snorkeling, morning beach walks and easy access to Kihei and Wailea. The unit is very clean, comfortable, well maintained, and well supplied with everything needed for a wonderful vacation. The cross breezes and fans kept the unit very comfortable with out air conditioning. The view of the ocean from the unit is lovely and the lawn was a great place to watch the sunset. We loved the location and the view. Mornings were spent at the beach, snorkeling and enjoying the water and sand, and afternoons lounging at the condo enjoying the view of the ocean. The condo itself is clean and comfortable. We will definitely try to stay here again on our next trip to Maui.

Property as described. Wonderful views of the ocean from balcony. There's a large area of manicured lawn directly outside the resort where folks gathered every evening to catch the sunset.
The sandy beach is within walking distance from the parking lot.

Had a wonderful time on Maui (how could you not?!). Michaelās condo was perfect for our stay. Clean, every utensil you could possibly think to need, new appliances, and the location is the BEST on Maui! We will definitely contact Michael again for our future trips! A great place to stay in Maui! Wonderful views from your lanai of the Ocean, Lanaāi and West Moutains of Maui. Gorgeous kitchen! You are on the Kihei/ Wailea border. Snorkeling right outside your door and lovely beach. The extra bathroom is an added plus. All need amenities are included. A very warm, much Aloha, atmosphere. The owner, Michael Smith, is a great owner, and makes sure that you have a wonderful stay.

We always stay in this condo when we visit Maui. The condo itself is beautiful and has everything you need to feel like home. The owner is very gracious and always responds quickly.
The grounds here are so relaxing, and such beautiful views no matter the weather. Close proximity to great food and awesome beaches..what more could you ask for? We had a wonderful stay, and even though it was late in the season, on 2 different days from our chairs on the lawn, we saw whales breaching! We highly recommend this unit, and the Kihei Surfside for a 5 star stay. Thank you Michael for sharing your condo!

Comfortable condo with a Spectacular view of the ocean and great access to the beach for snorkeling, swimming and beach walks. No in-unit laundry, however there are washers and dryers on the first floor of the building.

This condo has a beautiful and very well stocked kitchen. The view is lovely lawn, palm trees and ocean! The bedroom is very quiet and we slept with the living room door open most nights to get the nice evening air. A very wonderful swimming beach is just steps to the south if you donāt want to go far and there are many terrific beaches a bit further by car! Iād stay here again for sure!
