We had a great stay. The location was perfect (especially if you're a cyclist and want to go uphill). It was good for my young adult children with easy access to Paia and beaches. The staff that supports the property does a really good job making sure everything is taken care of. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Five of us stayed here for 9 days. We beach hopped, played golf, frequented local restaurants and ate in several times. The home location was perfect. Close to great beaches, we could walk to town and only a short drive

We stayed at the property for almost two weeks. Monica was so responsive to all of our needs and the location to town is perfect. Easy to walk which is such a plus since parking in Paia can be tough.

This house is perfect for a family stay in Paia. The layout, central AC, fans in every room, deck with a view, beach gear, nice landscaping, walkable location.... it was all fantastic. Monica was also very pleasant and attentive with her communications. Bonus - our kids loved playing with the local kids on the quiet street!

Perfect base for exploring Maui. House is situated in a residential neighborhood (neighbors all seem to be local and not other vistors/tourists).

Very up-to-date residence. A little confusing/complicated to figure out how/where/what controls worked lights and fans/sound bar and TV, but we eventually got it. Perfect fit for the family of 6 that stayed for 2 nights.

This home is spacious, clean, well-equipped, and a short walk into downtown Paia…which is a lovely little town on the north shore. The views out back off the decks are stunning. This home works well for 6 adults or a large family. Thanks for sharing it!

Host was so quick on the responses. Location was great. House was perfect size for 6 adults. I would just request maybe a couple of lounge chairs outside. I would definitely reccommend this house.

November 2023
Wow. What a great house for a family vacation! We could easily walk to Paia to shop and eat which meant no one had to drive! Also, we could walk to Paia Bay to surf and Baldwin Beach to hang out. The beds were super comfortable and the unit was well equipped with everything we needed to cook and go to the beach. We had a bit of a glitch at the start with check in (our plane was late and our code didn’t work which resulted in us having to spend a night at a hotel. Before we had even woken up, Monica had already reimbursed us for the night missed and then paid for our hotel room as well. As much as it’s a pain to have a hiccup at the start of a holiday it’s super reassuring to know the owner had our back through it all! We will definitely be back to rent Monica’s house again!

August 2023
This property was nicely situated in Paia - within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Kitchen - well appointed Furniture - had everything we needed Beds - great! Additional notes: The outdoor shower is awesome - just remember the code to get back in the door! I tend to prefer to open windows and sliding doors in HI, rather than use air conditioning, but the house rules asked to keep them closed. The air conditioner worked well. It would have been my preference to open the windows, but (per house rules) this lets a lot of dirt blow into the house. All in all, the atmosphere was fine and a little hotel-ish (not in a bad way). The location and amenities were wonderful! Thanks much! -greg

First time visiting Maui. I wasn’t sure if I chose the right place in Maui for my family or not. Resorts vs rental home. After the end of our first day, I knew I did. We loved the little cul de sac this house is in. Neighborhood kids, chickens, roosters, wild pigs in field (behind the fence), beautiful sunrise & sunsets, close enough to walk into town and near by Island Fresh for breakfast - it was all wonderful. Baldwin Beach, lovely stores to shop, fantastic restaurants, gelato made it all perfect.

Our party was very comfortable in this three bedroom home. Instructions posted and e-mailed are clear and concise so miscommunication avoided. Nightly outside shower under the stars is a highlight. Quiet and friendly neighborhood adds to the relaxed atmosphere. You will need to bring/purchase salt and pepper, sugar, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, etc.

Walking distance - 10 minutes to Paia Fish Market/main area of Paia. Clean and was just like the online pictures. Appreciated the link from management about reservations needed for volcano. But also be aware that black sand beach state park at Hana also requires reservations and masks to visit. We made the long trek and found out on arrival. No worries as we’ll see black sand on the Big Island but just a heads up for future travelers. 2 in our party had already been there before Covid when we could just drive in and enjoy! It was nice staying on the quieter/less resort side of the island where we were closer to the volcano and Hana. I would recommend this location to anyone! We didn’t cook much b/c the food choices are so abundant AND delicious on the island however if we did be advised you would need cooking oil, spices, etc. as none of these items were in the house BUT it was supplied with all the needed cookware and utensils. Again, since Covid it’s hard to find this stuff in any rental. Paper towels/TP and a bar of soap for each bathroom supplied and we didn’t even use it all. Trash bags were also supplied. Make sure you bring your own shampoo/conditioner unless you want to purchase. Also towels were plentiful and beach towels were supplied. The only thing I’d suggest is maybe a cooler for use as we were always taking snacks/drinks due to the long drives. This was a really lovely home with a beautiful ocean view. Thankful it had air conditioning because the roosters were quite vocal all times of the day!

March 2023
Paia is a beautiful town and super close to the airport. The house was perfect and large enough for 3 couples to enjoy. We also appreciated the beach supplies that we were able to borrow!

March 2023
My husband and I spent a month at this home in Paia. It was perfectly located and convenient to everything. Our host Monica was very responsive to some early issues and the home was well stocked and quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the future.

February 2023
The property was as described. It was very clean and ready for guests. There is a lot of room for a family and beds were comfortable. Everything was well thought out. We were challenged by the electronics but we are old. What do your expect? 🤪 and who goes to Hawaii for electronics? Go find the turtles! Communications were great and the location in Paia was very convenient to downtown and beaches.

We loved the deck. Quiet at secluded.

January 2023
This rental property was awesome. Our family (5 of us) had ample room. From views, games, insulated bags, beach towels, laundry baskets for each room, filtered water, easy access to downtown (easy walk), plus too many other items to mention this house was the best VRBO we've ever stayed in.

Yevgen B.
January 2023
Our stay was great. The house looks exactly the same as on pictures and has everything necessary for your stay. Check in and check out we’re smooth and easy. Monica’s (the host) recommendations were very helpful to get around the island.

December 2022
So happy to have found this home in beautiful Paia. The home was clean and the views of the old sugar cane fields and the coastline beyond gave a feeling of peace and tranquility. The home is an easy walk to town with many choices of restaurants, cafes, and shops via a convenient sidewalk. The best thing about this home is its gracious host who is super communicative and responsive. Thank you Monica for sharing your home with our family.

December 2022
Very good overall. The bedrooms were rather small. Location was ideal.

November 2022
We really loved staying in this beautiful house. The back porch view was so peaceful. It was centrally located between all the beaches that we love to do our water sports at as well as our Maui family! As previous residents of the island, we always love coming back! Mahalo to Monica for this lovely home!

October 2022
We enjoyed our stay. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood and is just A short walk to the restaurants and shops in Paia. There were a few minor problems with the house and Monica responded very quickly to take care of them.

Perfect 3 bedroom with everything you may need. Great central location. Would stay again. Thank you Monica for the early check in!!!!

July 2022
From the start, Monica was very helpful in coordinating our stay. The place was very nice with plenty of room for the 6 of us. I was surprised by the expansiveness of the views off the back deck. And the outdoor shower was nice. Everything is either a walk or very short car ride to all of Paula’s great food, shops and the beach. We chose this location to be closer to Haleakala as well.

Geri G.
July 2022
We truly loved the place. Would stay here for our next trip to Maui.

June 2022
Our party of 6 senior adults loved our stay here in Paia! It is an easy drive from the airport. It's nestled in a close neighborhood (neighbors were friendly and chatted with us a couple of times). 3 minute walk to fresh fruit/breakfast stand and 12 minute walk to all the fun and funky shops and restaurants. The outdoor decks and outdoor shower were wonderful to have (spectacular ocean/sunrise views). The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked for meal prep. Monica was a welcoming host, easy to be in touch with and very responsive! We had a minor issue with the slider window curtains which she addressed immediately. We are not "resort" people...for us, this was a great location for exploring all of Maui. We would be happy to stay here again and recommend it to others!

Loved the town of Paia. The property is very clean and well kept. Location is central enough for all the exploring we did. Had a great time.

April 2022
We enjoyed our stay here, house was very clean, owner was easy to communicate with. Plenty of parking (this was an issue in other parts of Maui). Comfortable rooms in a quiet area. There are chickens in the area (just like everywhere else in Maui). This was a great place to explore the North side and begin our Road to Hana trip.

Deedy D.
April 2022
The location of this rental is wonderful Close enough to Paia to walk to which was great because the parking is limited at best. Great shopping and delicious restaurants make it a fun destination which has the feel of a local Hawaiian town. The house has everything we needed with a view of old sugar cane fields and the ocean in the distance off the deck. From the house we had easy access to trips to Hanna to the east, less windy beaches in Makena, lovely sunset in Lahaina and great hike in upcountry. Loved it all!!!

Close to everything, but not right in the heart of it. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Diane E.
March 2022
The property is very clean and close proximity to downtown Paia. Comfortable bedding, quiet neighborhood. Nice beach chairs and umbrella. Enjoyed our stay here.

February 2022
We all loved the place except the cameras everywhere on the outside of the property. We found it very intimidating and couldn't relax in the garden. No host book is not good. We usually rely on the owners local experience to help us make decisions where to eat and go etc. Having no kitchen bowl or plug to the sink is an issue. Not enough cups therefore we really couldn't use the dishwasher. Overall it's a great place to stay but the point mentioned unfortunately tarnishes what could be an absolute gem of a place

Priscilla B.
February 2022
We had a great time in Paia. Monica responded immediately to our questions. The house was centrally located easy to get to other parts of the island

January 2022
Clean, simple, comfortable, convenient to town. The only need I saw was for new pillows.

Rosalyn A.
January 2022
Communication with property manager, Monica, was so very prompt in responding to any questions. The deck facing an open field overlooking the sea is breathtaking. The house is on top of a small hill. Drinking Maitai while sitting on the deck and hearing the ocean waves was zen. House equipped with beach chairs, umbrella, beach mat. It has everything u need and more. Super clean!

Courtney K.
January 2022
Nice place to stay for our little family. Has a lot of items to bring to the beach as well as a grill and outdoor seating. Had a perfect time here for a few days.

Jennifer M.
January 2022
Everything was great at the house. We’ll-stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and beach towels. We loved it was a15 min walk into Paia since the parking can be tough there. Walked to restaurants and the beach in town. Monica was so easy to communicate with and was extremely helpful.

Martin E.
December 2021
There was a heavy storm and power outage during our stay. No wifi and no electricity. Had to stay in a hotel. Owner refused to refund any money. No water, coffee sweeteners, or soap. Low level of power - were unable to charge any devices. Shower door was unhinged and almost injured me when it fell on me during the shower. Cleaning deposit too high for a place with bare necessities. Do not recommend as the area may be too unstable in poor weather.

Dana S.
November 2021
Overall great stay. Monica was super responsive and the location can't be beat. Definitely would return.

Chris S.
October 2021

Six of us rented this place and it was absolutely perfect for us! From the outdoor shower to the large patio with an ocean view, to the spacious bedrooms, we were extremely happy with this place. Would recommend for future visitors!

August 2021
We spent 10 days in this lovely home in Paia. Just as advertised, close to town but away from the noise (other than the roosters!). Around the corner was a cute little breakfast and lunch spot that we ate at several times. A longer walk into town and we had many choices and of course the beaches. Kitchen only had 6 of everything so we ended up running the dish washer a bunch but other than that was very well equipped- coffee make, bean grinder, blender, toaster, etc.

Lori H.
August 2021
The house was in a quiet neighborhood that was close to Paia town and very walkable. Monica was very sweet and quick to respond to questions. Overall we had a great stay and hope to come back soon.

Eileen C.
July 2021
Great location, spotlessly clean and comfortable

Nick W.
July 2021
Nice tourist house overlooking an enormous plot of empty farmland and the ocean beyond. Old Paia is a great place to eat and just hangout. Two great local beaches within a ten minute drive.

Derek H.
June 2021
We had a great stay at this property. The location is amazing and was perfect for avoiding all of the most touristy areas while still having a great selection of places to eat and drink. Paia was really awesome and was such a short walk away. The nearby beaches were also all pretty great without being crowded. Monica was also super responsive. We had a couple unavoidable issues but she was quick communicate and did her best to find solutions super quickly. She’s a fantastic host. The property itself has a great patio area with a nice view of the sugarcane field that helped make the location feel private and authentic. There are sometimes a herd of cows that show up and a bunch of roosters that are nearby. I really enjoyed that change of vibe from my previous trips to Hawaii which were more artificial and resort like. I would definitely stay here again!

May 2021
This is a great location to stay while on Maui. Paiea town is quaint with excellent food and shops. This home is great with a view of the ocean and cows in the pasture. All good at this rental.

May 2021
Monica made the check in process easy as possible. Her home was everything we needed for our 7 day 6 night stay. She had all the amenities you need to feel right at home. It really felt like our home away from home. Monica home was close to everything my family and I was looking for. A 10 minute walk to downtown. 2 beach entry's near by. Nearest Walmart about 15mins away by car. The ocean view in the morning is breath taking. Monica was very accommodating to my family travel arrivals and delays. Which made the overall stay even more comfortable. Thanks Monica.

April 2021
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our time in this lovely home. Tucked into a little neighborhood just off Baldwin, it was quiet and at the same time were able to walk to town within 5-10 minutes. Rented beach cruisers to be able to head down the path to explore the various beaches. Monica was super responsive when we ran into an issue with the internet and had it fixed promptly. Our family agrees that this is one of our favorite homes that we have rented. Thank you!

Jeff G.
April 2021
We loved staying at this gem of a house that is so close to bustling Paia! We could walk to dinner, access any north shore beach easily, and kick off adventures on the road to Hana at the head of the pack. We were in town foe a wedding along with many family members. Our hostess was BY FAR the most friendly and amenable. Everything we needed was anticipated or attended to promptly. We woke up with coffee on the back porch each day. The three bedrooms and THREE showers (one outside) was perfect for our group of five (two kids, mom, dad, and grandma). Everyone was pleased with the accommodations. Mahalo!

March 2021
This house was even better than we had hoped and imagined. Really lovely property, thoughtful touches, great outdoor spaces, everything was wonderful. Monica was great - always quick to respond to our questions and very helpful along the way. Would love to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be close to things, but also have some breathing room for the family and a welcoming space to return to at the end of each day.

January 2021
This is our second time staying in Paia and I think it's the perfect location. This particular house is footsteps from The Island Cafe, an utterly charming place for breakfast & lunch. The house is very comfortable. We liked the set up in the kitchen. It was conducive to hanging out, playing cards, watching movies and preparing gourmet meals. The deck and the outdoor shower are like icing on the cake. We used both everyday. I would definitely stay here again and again.

Bryn D.
April 2020
This is a lovely place to stay in Maui. It is in a great location - within walking distance of downtown Paia and the beach. It has gorgeous views of the ocean, from the deck.

Serena H.
March 2020
Highly recommend staying here! Monica was a lovely host, proving lots of information and food / activity recommendations for our stay in Paia. The house was well equipped, clean and close to all the activities and places we visited. If you're looking for a place to stay in Paia, make it this one. Thanks again!

Mark J.
February 2020
House was in great condition, set out well, clean, kitchen was setup really well with everything you needed. Plenty of towels, etc. under cover parking was a bonus given we did get some heavy rain. View from back porch was nice. The location of this house made it easy getting through the traffic jams that occurred each day when coming from the sth or west of island using the bypass road. Would definitely stay here again.

It's the best! And Monica is awesome to work with!

June 2016
This property was very nice and well maintained, Nice amenities and really nice quite are of paia. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to anyone looking for that home away from home feeling. Beautiful view of a huge cane field and partial ocean view from the deck. On a clear day you can also get a nice view of the top of Haleakala Location is nice. Close enough to walk to the main part of town, about a 10 minute walk, but far enough away that you don't feel in the middle of the touristy area Place was nicely equipped with all of the necessities needed to enjoy cooking and hanging at the house just like at home. This especially nice with 2 toddlers. The property owner went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and were aware of the things near by to experience. Was quick to respond with questions and seemed to genuinely care about our enjoyment of not only the place but our whole trip. We would love to stay here again when we come back. Thanks

June 2016
My family and I loved everything about this house. It was super clean, beautifully appointed, and the perfect amount of space for the 6 of us. We enjoyed walking to town for meals and shopping. We found Paia to be a great location with easy access to the many places we wanted to visit while on island. I highly recommend this house. We appreciate how helpful Monica was to us. We will be back next year.

Nathan K.
May 2016
This property is everything it looks like online. Its outdoor amenities (deck, outdoor shower, patio, and BBQ) contributed to an enjoyable trip to Maui. Inside and out it was spotless when we arrived. The AC was great to get out of the heat and communication with Monica was always efficient and clear. Six of us slept comfortably and cooked the whole trip in the spacious kitchen. The only issue was that the trip was only ten days long and that the neighbourhood rooster (Roger) likes to get up early, but we got used to that after a few days. All in all I would love to return and I recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy Paia and I already want to go back~! Nathan

April 2016
We stayed here for a week in April 2016. There were no bad surprises from the description and pics on VRBO, and I echo all the the positive things that prior reviewers have said. The house is very clean, airy and modern. The kitchen is very well equipped - much better than many other VRBO rentals we have stayed in. The central AC unit is very quiet. The neighbours are close, but very quiet and high fences give good privacy. (The rooster at 3:00 a.m. could go, but that's not unique to Paia.) I don't give out 5 stars easily. I would definitely stay there again.

Jeanne D.
March 2016
Four of us spent a week at this house just outside of Paia. Paia traffic can get very bad, so we were able to walk into town easily, to the lone grocery store, shops, or one of the beaches. There is a yoga studio a few minutes walk away. Coming from the airport direction, there is a mini by-pass which was a godsend, as the traffic going straight through town was horrendous during rush hour. The house is on a quiet cul-de-sac with close-by neighbors (lots of tall fences) and the back looking out over cane fields. The ocean view from the living room and decks was good enough to see the white caps. There's just about everything you could want for cooking, baking, grilling, etc., although the china dishes (from Costco, I think) made us a bit nervous. Laundry is downstairs under the house; it was nice being able to park the car under cover. Extra towels were available, but an extra blanket stashed in the closet would have been nice, as it got quite cool a couple nights. If I ever go back to Paia, this place would definitely be at the top of my list--clean, well-kept, handy for touring in all directions, and out of the main Paia traffic jams.

Dyer M.
February 2016
We loved staying at this property, I have been going to Maui for many years and this location cannot be beat for those who want to see Maui from a north shore locals perspective rather than the south shore resort extravaganza. Quiet location up against beautiful cane fields with views of the ocean from the back deck. All amenities were clean and modern (even a nest thermostat) it is about .5 miles from the main strip of Paia which is a nice easy walk. Will definitely stay again and recommend friends/family who are looking for a solid place to stay on the island.

January 2016
Paia Ko might just be the best kept secret in Paia. I'm not sure that I want everybody to know about it for fear that I will not be able to book it again...and again. I concur with all the other reviews: the owner is fantastic. Monica is very accessible and really wants you to have a great vacation. The home is updated, spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed for a family of 5 to cook meals, hang out and feel at home while also being away from home. Our teenagers loved being able to walk into town on their own to shop, get coffee and go to the beach. Definitely one of those "booking.yeah" experiences.

Newly remodeled plantation style home, a beautiful home! The pictures do not do it justice!Clean (Immaculate) New appliances, granite counter-tops, plenty of cupboard space. Everything we needed to prepare meals. Bathrooms were up stylish and up to date, plenty of towels, etc.. Beach towels and the outside shower took care of the outdoor play.Washer/dryer was a great bonus. Lots of supplies and easy to use. Central air conditioning, and insulated windows kept it cool inside the house and bugs out! Lots of open space inside and outside too. 2 levels of deck to dine on, and we took use of the BBQ too! There were 6 of us, and plenty of room. My only comment would be to add a loveseat, with the other 2 couches. That's because we had 6 people-4 young adults who hog allthe room! Paia Ko is in a residential neighborhood, but the backyard has beautiful views of the beach and sugar cane fields. It's a nice walk to downtown Paia for shopping, restaurants and a good little uphill hike back-just enough to get some exercise! Make sure you go to the Flatbread pizza downtown AND especially the gelato store! Passion orange guava is delicious! But they have many, many more flavors too. Paia is a great little beach community. Great for people who want to get away from the big resort or city scene. It's just a little ways away from Kahului , where the airport and bigger shopping areas are, or even getting to the other side of the island to the Kihei side or Lahaina side, is within minutes. Owner was within easy access and answered any of the questions we needed. Loved this place and we definitely want to come back, even without the rest of our gang!!

Enjoyed our stay within walking distance to downtown Paia. House was very clean and in great condition. Cooked many of our meals here and found the kitchen well appointed. Central air was nice to have and the outdoor shower was a real treat. Only downsides were the walk to town is about 1/2 mile so it takes some time and the neighborhood rooster starts crowing very early in the morning.

My husband and I spent 12 wonderful days in the sweet town of Paia. We stayed in a lovely, newly renovated 3-bedroom home located on Maui's beautiful North Shore. The house is conveniently located, close to airport, beaches and within walking distance to town, offering plenty of eateries, shopping and a local grocery store stocked with everything you need to prepare a meal or take away. I highly recommend this clean and spacious rental to anyone be it a family, couple or friends. Has plenty of indoor/outdoor living, modern appliances including Central Air Conditioning throughout the home. You can bet we'll be back next year.
