My wife and I visited Maui for the very first time and we could not be more pleased with our stay at the Maui Kai Condo. The studio condo was beautifully furnished with everything we needed for our time in Maui and the ocean views from the Lanai are amazing!! The Lanai is literally no more than 15 feet from the ocean!! Plus, the condo location is perfect and close to everything we wanted to do on the island...dining, hiking, shopping, sunset cruising...even the Road to Hana and the Haleakala Sunrise was very doable with an early start from Maui Kai! Times Supermarket is located right across the street from the condo resort and a food truck park is within a few minutes walk from the condo. There was plenty of safe parking and lastly, the condo owners were extremely nice and personally very attentive before, during, and after our stay! We truly could not have been more pleased with our stay at the Maui Kai Condo!!

This property is so close to the ocean if it were any closer you’d be in it! Beautiful view of the waves, dolphins, sea turtles, and surfers as well as two of the islands. It was a perfect walk to Dukes and Whalers Village down the beautiful pathway.

It was our first stay in Maui, and we couldn’t ask for a better one. The condo was clean and stocked with everything you’d need, the beach was just a short walk off the lanai. And the view from the room was breathtaking. We watched sun set every night. We were also surprised by the cabana by the pool that had a game room for all ages and full kitchen, which is very convenient if you want to cook by the pool after a long day. Thought I’d mention that because I look to reviews to help book my stays. Over all we couldn’t ask for a better place to stay (: thank you for having us we will be back!

The condo is amazing. Don’t wast your money on snorkeling excursions. You can snorkel right next to the condo. We even got to snorkel next to a pair of turtles. We got to see dolphins and turtles from our balcony in the morning.

We had a lovely stay at this condo and it made the perfect place for our first visit to Maui. The condo is right on the beach/water. It’s very convenient to basically anything you want to do in Maui- Haleakala, Road to Hana, Front Street, most any beach. We’d stay here again.

No complaints.. not a one. Property was perfectly clean, location was awesome - lovely beach next door, in close proximity to other great beaches. Food truck lot 100 yards away or so was great for quick meal. Everything we needed was there, just a great stay at a reasonable price compared to what I think are gouging local hotels in same area.
Even saw a whale last evening before sunset - in May, when all whales supposed to be gone. Thanks so much, hope to be back!

We loved this property! Hubs and I are finally traveling without kids and loved our first time visit to Maui for nine days. The grounds are beautiful and the condo building is in great shape; super clean. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool area with a great cabana that included a full kitchen inside and outdoor BBQs with covered seating. So peaceful and quiet, we didn't see any young kids during our time. The studio amenities are top notch; Stanley and company have thought of everything! Fully stocked kitchen, coolers for the beach, lots of hangars, super comfy king bed, beautiful interiors, and binoculars to watch the whales (we enjoyed watching them on two different days!) We sat on the lanai every morning but it did take us a bit getting used to people walking by on the boardwalk at eye level but within a day or two we just embraced smiling and saying Aloha to passersby. The communication during reserving was stellar and checkin was a breeze. We would without a doubt reserve this unit again.

Perfect location, outstanding accommodations, everything you need in the kitchen to cook your own meals. The view from the balcony is perfect for whale watching and turtle spotting along the shore. Access to the beach walk allows you to take in three miles of coast on a walk. A supermarket is minutes walking distance, snorkeling location 9 to 13 minutes away, or right out in the back of the unit. In the evening, don't forget to pull the blinds passersby can peak into the unit, not a big deal. Be careful with the bed posts, I kicked them several times and it left a good reminder of Maui, lol. We used the grill several times, and I was impressed as to how clean and in good working order they are. The pool area is very clean and the pool house has all the amenities you need to enjoy the outside all day.

We were able to watch whales from the lanai, soak up some sun and meet really nice people at the pool, and have some great meals within walking distance. We loved everything about this property because it was exceptionally equipped with everhing you could ever need in the kitchen, great waterfront views for whal, turtle and dolphin watching. You really can't get any closer to the water... Almost feels like you're on the water . The only slight downside is you won't have complete privacy because there is a walkway in front of the ground floor lanai where people pass by from time to time. Other than that, this place is awesome.

The place was amazing! The location was great with lots to eat and things to do all near by. The beach was just a min walk a door down and the pool was also great! We are not big on eating out all the time so we loved having the kitchen and it had everything needed for us to cook breakfast and dinner. We even grilled steaks on the bbq by the pool for dinner one night. With the amazing view you have right there at your fingertips it seemed silly to even go out for a nice dinner. Definitely would come back, highly recommend!

Our condo was very clean, remodeled and updated furniture. The decor and design were spot on for beach theme.
It had all the appliances one would need (kitchen, microwave, fridge, A/C, Beach chair, towels, beach bag, coolers). Definitely coming back again to same place. The communication with the owner was on time in response and very friendly. Even the staff at front office were helpful and changed our towels when we asked for on the same day. Very close to town, shopping, coffee shops by foot or car.
Overall a great place to stay for a couple with ocean view condo with all the amenities needed to stay at this condo.

This property is right over the ocean and you hear the waves and see the gorgeous ocean from the unit. Stan was wonderful to us as the people who were in the unit had COVID and he had to locate another unit for us to stay in. He was very responsive and caring, understanding how important the place we are staying in is to make our Maui experience special. While a bit dated, the units are clean and comfortable. I like having a kitchen to keep food in so we don't have to eat out all the time. The unit is located in a populated area with lots of reasonable places to eat out and a grocery story right near by. The view from the lanai is incredible and includes a view of Molokai and Lanai. The whale were very active and we even saw them breach. We could easily walk to restaurants and the beach is literally steps away. Would love to return someday.

This property is private enough that you have your own space but still right in the heart of activity. Directly on the shore line. Views were breathtaking. Sunsets especially. Likely experienced 50 plus whale sightings every day from the veranda. Owner and management were very helpful and we really needed nothing.

This was our first trip since 2020 and the post Covid 19 lockdown on travel. We were dreaming of sitting on this lanai and watching the sunset and we were so happy that it did not disappoint. The place was very clean, well appointed and the bed was super comfortable! One small thing that would make it over the top for us is if there were two beach chairs and an umbrella that we could use for our beach excursions.
We can’t wait until our next trip to Maui!

We had a lovely time---the property is clean, and well-stocked. We had no problem making breakfast with the unit's amenities in the kitchen. AC worked well, and bed was comfortable.
Normally, I'd give 5 stars but I'm compelled to share two things with travelers. 1. The property is oceanfront, but not beachfront. The unit (and majority of the complex) does not have a beach in front of it. It is mostly rocks, and requires a 200-yard walk over a few rocks and along a small strip of sand to a bigger beach where you can actually lay down a towel and sunbathe.
2. The unit itself is on the first floor, and there is a lot of foot traffic past the unit's lanai---like, a lot. We had approximately 15-20 people in the morning, and approximately the same at sunset. Some are friendly, and some take the opportunity to peer into the condo as they walk by. It is not private. (Although there are solid blackout curtains available--- we just had hoped to watch the sunset without the foot traffic in front.) We didn't look closely at the pictures to realize that there is a walkway directly in front of the unit on the oceanside of the property.
Otherwise, it was lovely, and the unit was well-maintained.

This condo was perfect for my boyfriend and I. We stayed three nights here on a two week vacation in Hawaii and wish we booked more nights at this property! The view from the balcony is unbeatable and the room itself is perfect for a couple. Reading a few stories in the guestbook was also so enjoyable, people come from all over to stay at that place. The check in process was strange, the office was supposed to be open because it was during open hours, but nobody was there. It was pretty simple, but just not what we expected. The place itself was incredible! Great space and location. Within walking distance to the beach next door, to the grocery store, food trucks, and about a 10 minute drive up or down the coast to awesome beaches, food, and shopping. Would absolutely stay here again!!!

The Lanai is amazing to sit and watch the sunrise and sunset. Definitely enjoy the beach to the north of the complex short walking distance and clean sandy beach. Close to the famous Lahaina front street and whalers village. The hosts were very helpful and communication was timely. Definitely recommend and would come back!

It is my pleasure to write a review for this incredible Jr. suite at the Maui Kai condos.
Building and surroundings: Great location, close to many "resort style" accommodations with less than half the price tag! Building is a bit older but definitely well maintained. FREE parking! There is a Cabana/pool house but we did not get a chance to check it out. Office staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! You can rent 1 movie/day for free and they have a fairly good collection!
View: Panoramic view of the Pacific, with excellent views of Lanai and Molokai! "Breath taking" would be the understatement of the year! Easy access to the beaches which are right outside, but be VERY careful- there are quite a bit of coral and rocks. For swimming I would recommend a different beach, but that's personal preference- after all its Maui- the land of a 1000 beaches! The beach is great to sit and build sand castles or watch the sunset!
The room: Studio sized, and in person looks bigger than the picture. More than sufficient for a couple. Nice kitchen, full size fridge, microwave, oven and stove. Coffeemaker, iron, cleaning supplies, etc. are also provided. All basic pots and pans, as well as dishes, silverware are provided. Basically all we bought we basic food items (including oil). There are quite a few spices that are also provided. Towels are changed for you everyday and trash is taken out by housekeeping, which was awesome!
Before our trip, I was concerned that the cost of the room was a bit above or budget, but having been there and spent so much time on the lanai watching the moon set at sunrise, read and have breakfast with that view, I feel that the value is incredible. We did not see many whales from our lanai, but I did see a few whale fins/tails, etc, which was exciting! There is also a telescope for use by guests!
Stan was easy to get in touch with and all the receipts and invoices were sent to us in a timely fashion. He was very accommodating as well in answering all our questions.
We had a great trip and a wonderful stay at this condo and on our next trip we will definitely be staying with Stan if the condo is available!

This is an excellent place to stay and we enjoyed it very much. We especially enjoyed sitting on the lanai in the morning watching the whales and dining there in the evening too. This is a cozy studio condo that is very comfortable for a couple. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. All details were thought of. The queen sized bed is comfortable and the property is quiet. We enjoyed fixing our own dinners on the bbq in the pool house. You can take your own drinks there and play ping pong or lounge while your dinner is cooking. The pool is small but very clean and never crowded. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is right on the beach and we enjoyed walking along the ocean down to the bigger hotels (although nice were very busy in comparison). Parking was never an issue. Overall, this property is very good value and offers a perfect location and all the amenities without the crowds. Thank you Stan! You were wonderful to deal with and we enjoyed our short stay here very much. We'll definitely book again on our next Maui vacation.

Rather than re-hashing all of the wonderful (and accurate) points others have already made, I’ll stick to our highlights. If you are looking for OCEAN-front property, you cannot get much closer to it than this first-floor unit without getting wet!
The most important factors for us in choosing this location were:
#1. Proximity to the beautiful beaches for relaxing and snorkeling (as in, right outside the LANAI), and
#2. All of the amenities we wanted were within walking distance, including:
• Duke’s (good ocean-front happy hours every day from 3-5p)
• Ka’anapali Beach Club (Hawaiian-style entertainment by the beautiful pools & outside bar)
• Fully stocked grocery store/coffee shops/quick bites right across the street
• Easy access to local bus transportation (more details at front desk, but purchase a full day pass for only $4!)
• Local towns such as Whalers Village and Lahaina were only a short bus ride away
The unit is equipped with coolers, boogie-boards and snorkeling gear, so use those before spending money on rentals. Stock-up on groceries and save money by using the fully-equipped kitchen to prepare meals enjoyed on the beautiful lanai, instead of eating out – You already have the best ocean-front view, so take full advantage of it!
If this is your first time to Maui (as it was for us), be sure to look inside the entertainment center (under TV) for informative travel guides (left by previous guests), regarding sights to see in the area (even tabbed for easy reference) – Unfortunately, we did not find these gems until our very LAST day! Some of our highlights included snorkeling at Molokini Island/Turtle Town/Black Rock, AlexAir helicopter tour (pilot Nick), and Mama’s Fish House. Although always highly recommended , carefully think twice about the Road to Hana: You are about as far away from the drive as you can be in West Maui, and is a trip better suited for an overnight stay outside the Hana area rather than a single-day trip (we only had precious few days on the island, and wished we had done something different).
Finally, Stan was terrific to deal with, and was a great resource for local information – We couldn’t recommend it more, you won't be disappointed! Mahalo for the wonderful lifetime memories, we are already thinking of our next trip back...

We stayed here for our 33rd wedding anniversary and had a great time. The condo was just as described, right on the water with beautiful sunsets. We snorkeled and swam right in front of the condo. The grocery store and a few places to eat are a short walk away. The condo was clean and the staff was very helpful and nice.

Location was perfect; right off the water and perfectly oriented to see sunset between the two islands every night! Also there's scuba rental, coffee shops, supermarkets within walking distance. Just south you have Dukes (great happy hour/beachfront bar). Can also walk to small beach immediately north or the large airport beach/black rock area (approx 1.5 miles south). Driving distance Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kapalua and Napili beaches are minutes away. Incredible snorkeling at Honolua just a few miles north.
Condo: great assets, grills near the pool for cooking up fresh market seafood/fish, telescope for right after sunset checking out the moon, and the patio is perfect for sunsets and molokai/lanai views on the water.
Negatives: given that the sun sets right out your window/patio, the 2-3 hours before sunset really heat up the condo. So if you're thinking of cooking up dinner its best right around sunset time.
Overall loved it and the location was perfect for what I was looking for; nearby beaches and snorkeling, and beautiful sunsets back at home.

The condo we stayed in at Maui Kai was beautiful, clean, and perfect for the two of us (my boyfriend and me). The only "disappointment" (if you'd even call it that) we had was we were under the impression that the lanai was open and you could walk out onto the beach from there. In front of the lanai is a paved walkway with a wall that you have to walk around to get over to the beach. The views were spectacular, and having to walk through the building to get out to the beach was a very minimal inconvenience. Everything else was as we expected...great sunsets, right on the water, close to the grocery store and a short walk from the beach front hotel bar Duke's. We were very pleased with our stay here, though we didn't spend much time on this particular beach.

Stan and Penny's condo was the perfect place to stay! We were going on a vacation for the first time together (as a young couple of 23 years old and having dated for about a year and a half, this was a fun and romantic getaway). We had an amazing time! Their place was clean, had all the necessary amenities, and was in a great location. The pictures on their website are 100% accurate, and the view is incredible! Every day, the minute I woke up, I opened the sliding doors to their lanai because I loved hearing the ocean crash right outside their place. We both fell asleep during the afternoon listening to the sound. And the beach is literally steps outside of their place! It's more secluded and private too, away from the hustle and bustle of the more popular beaches. At the same time, it is located near Lahaina where there is a downtown area that is a must see! And eateries are not too far away at all. The grocery store itself is across the street from the condo, great for any one to wants to make use of their well equipped kitchen or Maui Kai's BBQ grill. Plus, Rowena at the front desk is so nice, as well as Jennie and Elza, who comes to make your bed and provide fresh towels. Definitely consider this getaway :)

Been to this unit 5-7 times. Cant beat it. I would stay here over the westin, grand wyalea, etc. The ocean at high tide actually can splash you on the lanai. Drove 45 minutes for sunset cruise and ended up in front of the condo. Sunsets from lanai are beautiful. Fully functional kitchen with grocery store 2 blocks away. 10 minutes to lahaina, 5 to whalers village. Important for us, very few children running around. Great happy hours next door and at the new westin a few hotels down. Parents have been there twice. Dont think they left the property the second time (50th wedding anniversary). I highly recommend this place. Cant beat the view or the price. Going again in January hopefully.

Excellent communication from Stan before we left, the apartment was as perfect as we imagined it to be from the details on VRBO (you can't get any closer to the water anywhere in Maui!). The staff at the Maui Kai are also fantastic. We had a great time and would definitely stay again.

The condo was wonderful. I was looking for a condo in West Maui during a specific time period and happened upon this condo and it was available. It looked just like the pictures. The location and views of the ocean were fabulous. We were within walking distance to Whalers Village and could swim right from the beach in front of the condo. We enjoyed the BBQ in the cabana and the grounds of Maui Kai was beautiful. The condo was tastefully decorated and fully appointed all necessary utensils for cooking. We had such a wonderful time that we will be returning next May.
