The condo was in a great location in south Kihei, walkable distance to a number of restaurants and shops. Some great restaurants around there.
The walk across from the condo to Kamaole beach park was one of the high points - going for sunsets and morning walks.
The condo space in itself was very good - great living/dining and kitchen area, with a good sized bedroom and all the necessary amenities in the kitchen.

Loved the location. Walking distance to everything you needed. Short drive to other nearby towns and beaches. Walked to the beach across the street every day to swim and watch sunsets. Being on the top floor and having a nice sized balcony was essential for us.
As others have mentioned, it does get warm in the bedroom. But all units in this building are similar due to the way the air conditioning systems are in place.
Everything was clean. Kitchen seemed new. Bill is a super friendly host.
Property had two pools and BBQ grills as well.
It was our first time in Maui. We loved our trip.

We had a great holiday on Maui! This condo is the perfect location -steps away from the beach, and the grounds were lovely. We made good use of the pool and bbqs. The unit also has good appliances. The atmosphere is laid-back and ideal for someone wanting a quiet and relaxing stay. Bill was a great host- great communication and very friendly.
The downfall was the air condition not reaching the bedroom- as this did affect our stay. We did read this in other reviews but thought we would be able to manage it. We spent time trying to figure out a way to create air flow and even purchased extra fans. In our opinion, it was too hot in there to sleep (between 27-30 degrees C), so we ended up using the sofa bed and trying to sleep between the springs. And as other reviews have stated, the condo is dated and could use some sprucing up and a good hard scrubbing, and perhaps some new sheets and towels.
With some way of adequately cooling the bedroom, we would definitely stay again! If this isn’t something that bothers you, then you will have a fantastic stay. Every day is a good day on Maui. Thank you for letting us use your place!

Great location in Kihei. Easy to visit sites around island. Traffic and pedestrians in Kihei make driving a little challenging but it didn’t deter from our enjoyment of the beauty of Maui.

We rented C611 from Bill! Fantastic owner who really cares about his guests! Unit had spectacular views from living room and lanai. Unit definitely had that comfortable Hawaiian feel with some Hawaiian decor but nice modern kitchen with almost every gadget you could think of. Gas range, full sized fridge, microwave & dishwasher were all standard. The bedroom had a king sized bed and a closet full of beach amenities including chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and pool noodles. It also came with large beach towels to use during our stay. We had a/c in living room, two ceiling fans and a floor bedroom fan to move cooler air into the bedroom for sleeping at night. More than adequate- downright comfortable. We went to the beach in the morning and the pool in the afternoon. The pool had a shady covered area where I hung out while my wife would find a lounge chair in the sun! So comfortable!! This complex has a few reasonable rules to ensure the enjoyment of everyone - no glass anywhere near the pool, no jumping into the pool (so no one gets splashed), quiet hours after 10 pm. This is not a spot for party animals, but a wonderful spot for couples and families. Can’t wait to come back again!

The listing is 100% accurate and the host, Bill is a terrific communicator who was always timely in replying back to our questions.
Everything in the condo works well and the property itself is well managed, clean and in a great location. The view of the ocean from the lanai is very nice though you cannot watch the sunset (directly) but if you walk across the street (5 minutes or less) you'll have a great sunset to watch every evening.
The surrounding neighborhood has everything including several closeby and tasty eateries.
One call out - there's no AC in the bedroom though there's a ceiling fan and a table fan that helps.
We had a great time and we highly recommend Bill's condo.

The apartment was clean and Bill was nice and kept in contact with me. The only negative was the air conditioner was in the living room but there was a fan in the bedroom that help to help with the heat. An excellent location, easy access to the beach and plenty of restaurants in walking distance.

Great location. Directly across from a great beach. Pool was really nice. The property grounds were well kept with wonderful trees and flowers. Not too much noise. Bill the owner immediately addressed any concern we had which was very minor. Overall a wonderful experience and great place to stay.

Bill was great to deal with and easily available. The check in, location, and overall stay was great. The condo itself is older and could use updating in the bathroom, but the kitchen and family room have been updated, and the view from the balcony was great!

Bill's condo is a great place to stay in Kihei, with so many beaches and parks within walking distance. There are lots of food options nearby as well. The condo is well stocked with ample dishes and cutlery in the kitchen, and the lanai that looks out to the ocean on one side and Haleakala on the other, was a wonderful place to have our meals. Bill was super communicative and helpful throughout our stay. Would love to stay here again if I return to Maui!

My husband and I stayed in Bill’s condo for 10 days over Christmas. What we loved most about Bill’s condo was the view and sunshine on the lanai. The lanai faces south and in the morning you can watch the sunrise over the crater, and in the evening watch the sunset. When we weren’t at the beach, we were on the lanai!! We decided not to rent a car this time, and instead rented hybrid bikes for a week. Bills condo was close enough to ride to other beaches in Wailea and to grocery stores, restaurants and shops throughout Kihei easily. We also enjoyed the pool areas for bbq’ing and for relaxing and reading (we found the upper pool to be very quiet and peaceful! - great for reading). Bill was amazing to communicate with - responded to questions and requests quickly and positively. Would definitely recommend this condo to friends and family!

Great place to stay by the beach in Maui! Met my lodging criteria: clean, comfortable, location to activities i.e. beach, restaurants, whale watch tours, etc., and great view from the room. Some reviewers were concerned with old brown carpet in bedroom, older furniture, lack of AC in the bedroom. Do not let them scare you!
Look at the picture of the view from the sixth floor balcony. Imagine each morning you get up with your coffee and cinnamon raisin toast to see the mesmerizing view of the sun moving up from behind the beautiful mountain. Then you turn to your right to see the turquoise ocean with the first paddle boarders of the day. Finally, you look straight ahead at the bird on the palm branch next to you chirping his song! Heaven!

I travel to Kihei at least once a year and highly, highly recommend Bill's condo!!! The unit itself has everything you need; the view is absolutely spectacular, with views looking up to Haleakala clear down to the ocean. We watched sunset every evening from the lanai, such a treat! The grounds of the Akahi are lovely, and you cannot beat the location: across the street from 3 of my favorite beaches on Maui, and walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Bill is a great communicator, if I had any problems, I am certain he would've helped me solved them within the day. I look forward to staying here again!!

After having to postpone this trip several times over the last 3 years, we were able to come back to Kihei where we had our honeymoon. When we saw Bill's place on the VRBO site, it looked exactly like what we were looking for and booked it about a month before we were supposed to arrive. We knew we made the right decision when he called us just a few minutes after booking, to thank us and to see if we had any questions. He showed that same personal attention again during our stay to make sure we checked-in ok and that everything was in order.
Kihei Akahi is ideally situated across the street from the beach. Bill's unit has a great view of the ocean from the balcony, where we had breakfast and watched the sunset. Our first impression when we walked in was how clean everything was, well maintained (albeit some 'cosmetic' refresh might be in order) has a great layout, and more than enough space for two people. The grounds are also well maintained. and the management company has an office on the property with an incredibly welcoming staff available 7-days a week.
We highly recommend Bill's place, and look forward to coming back, hopefully sooner than later.

So many great things... comfy bed, nice linens, clean, nice kitchen with gas stove, great view to ocean, beautiful landscaping, and friendly staff, many restaurants and bus stop nearby. 3 beaches to choose from and they weren't too crowded. Good snorkeling. We felt that the price we paid for our stay was a great value and were therefor able to overlook a few other items in need of upgrade (bedroom carpet- old, but clean; rusty chains on light fixtures) The A/C unit is in the living room, and we were able to keep the bedroom comfortable with use of 2 fans provided and the ceiling fans, but if you like to sleep really cool, it might not be enough for you. Also great to have the beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards. Thanks, Bill, for a great vacation.

THE best location!! Few minutes away from the beach + great restaurants. I didn’t have a car so it was very easy walking everywhere and trying local places. The property itself is very comfy - big kitchen, great sized bedroom, and nice living area. Not to mention the balcony! It’s on the 6th floor and faces the beach so you have great views all day. Bill was an amazing host and contacted me right after I booked and kept me informed of any changes due to covid. I would absolutely stay here again my next time in Maui! Thanks so much Bill.

Watching the Wales from the Lanai of this condo is a common occurance! The location is ideal, one of the nicest beaches in the area is a 2 minute walk away. The snorkeling at this beach is fantastic, turtles, a variety of fish and coral are abundant, not to mention the sunsets are outstanding! A variety of restaurants and array of great shops are all within a short walk.
The unit is very quiet and the sleeping arrangements are very comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed, the living area has been tastefully furnished and comes equiped with everything you need for your stay including comfortable seating, TV, docking station for music, access to internet, to name a few. The condo is equiped with all the extra ammenities you need for your stay such as comfortable beach chairs, towels, coolers etc. The property is clean and the gardens, pool and bbq area are very well mainted. The other guests staying at the property are very friendly . The owner provides excellent service.
I have recommended this property to friends and family. This is a lovely condo and the value for this location can't be beat. We will definately be returning!

This condo is in an excellent location with beach access across the street and several restaurants close by. The complex is very well maintained and has 2 swimming pools with barbecues for resident use. The unit was clean and very well maintained and the service provided by the owner and his management firm was first rate. Any problems we had were immediately attended to and corrected to our satisfasction. We have stayed in this unit a number of times and have recommended it to friends and relatives considering a Hawaiian vacation. We enjoy golfing and there are several good courses in the area and we do like the beach and watching the sunset in the evening. Our favourite restaurants would include Haliimailie General Store, Ruby Tuesday ande Freds.

The top floor location afforded us a fantastic view of the ocean and the frequent whale sightings. All the appliances worked well and we arrived to a clean, efficient unit. Although we never made use of the boogie boards, snorkeling gear and other toys, as we brought our own, they were available in the room. Being away from the main road helped mute vehicle noise but not the soothing ocean sounds. We are foodies, our stay was enhanced by the gas stove and the ability to make delicious meals using produce from the local farmer's markets. We enjoyed a two minute walk to the beach with excellent snorkeling at Kamaole 2 beach. It has been a real pleasure working with Bill, the owner, who has responded promptly to any questions or emails and we would, and already have, recommended this unit to others. The furnishings were comfortable, the applicances worked well (Blender, Toaster, ect.) The internet was fast and efficient.
The Tradewinds kept the condo at a comfortable temperature all day and night. We never had to use the air conditioner at all.
The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, the pools and barbeque areas were spotless. Assigned parking was convenient. The Condo was a short walk to restaurants and deli.
The owner was easy to work with and checked-in with us upon our arrival. He wanted to ensure that we had a great stay.
We would recommend this property to anyone who wants to have a great stay in Maui.

We had an outstanding time and the condo was perfect for us. We have stayed at the Kihei Akahi for four years now. We love the location most of all. The condo had everything we expected and was great for our stay. Bill is very attentive to his clients, and very responsive to our needs. We will be back next year. We stayed for 15 nights and did not want to go home. Lots of great places to eat and things to do within walking distance. A great beach across the street. Beach chairs, umbrellas, a boogie board, and we contributed some "noodles". I can float on my "noodles" for hours. The bed was great, the birds will wake you up in the morning. We had great meals at Cafe O'lei, The Big Wave Cafe, Moose McGillicudy's, Joe's Bar & Grill, and Antonio's. We also like Peggy Sue's, Stella Blues, Cuartro's, and Coconut's Fish. Thanks Bill, see you next year.

This condo was great. It was directly across the street from a beautiful beach. We would drive to other beaches as well because we like variety and we did a lot of snorkeling in different places, but we always came back every night to make some food and blend up a rum drink and go watch the sunset on the beach across the street.
The lanai had a good view of the ocean. It was a little small and you also had a view of the condos across the way, but with a 2 minute walk you were on the beach so this didn't really have a negative effect.
The condo had great amenities and the folks at the management office were friendly and helpful. Bill, the condo owner, was also very attentative and made sure all was well for us, which it was.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for six nights. The unit was clean and had all the amenities we needed to cook at home and keep our clothes clean. The balcony was great for watching the sunset on the water. We stayed in the living room on the futon couch (super comfy, nice and firm) so we could leave the slider open and hear the waves and feel the breeze - just lovely to wake up to the birds chirping and the waves lapping the beach nearby. The back room stayed nice and cool with the ceiling fan and the windows open, though.
The beach across the street was gorgeous, and we were able to change things up by walking down a ways to Charley Young for some great snorkeling. Very easy to get to Big Beach, Makena, etc for some quick jaunts to various snorkeling further south. Also, we were very close to lots of food, although we ate in most of the trip. Foodland, 1-2mi north is great!
Places to eat: Cafe O'Lei, Maui Tacos and Fred's were pretty dang tasty and so close. For Shave Ice, it's a trek, but go to Ululani's in Lahaina... it's worth the drive.
Snorkeling: Kamaole beaches and Charley Young were really great... virtually across the street, or at the most a half mile walk. Ask a snorkel shop for a map of good places to go if you want to venture further.
Other activities: Old Lahaina Luau was AMAZING, traditional, beautiful, great food, amazing service, delicious drinks. No discounts, but only because they are that good. Recommend sitting at the tables on the ground. Pride of Maui Molokini Snorkeling Tour - good food, great service, went on a bad day to see fish, but we were ok with it because of the rest of the experience. Road to Hana - if you go, GO EARLY and pack a lunch - food in Hana is sparse. And, if you can, stay the night there - it's a loooong day.
When we come back to Maui, we'll be checking this unit first. The owner was very responsive to inquiries and kept close contact before during and after our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory. Great price, great location, great service - you can't ask for any more than that!

This Condo was great. It surpassed my expectations having just seen photo's and description on the internet. The view from the Lanai of the mountains and the ocean was beautiful. The location was fantastic, a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach with great snorkeling and sunsets and close to great restaurants and shops. There are 2 pools and each has a BBQ area with nice clean BBQ's.
The condo was clean, well-maintained and had all the amenties that we required for out stay. The owner provided great customer service and e-mailed us upon our arrival to make sure everything was satisfactory.
I would highly recommend this condo. It is exceptional value for the location and amenities offered.
