I would definitely stay at the casa de emdeko room 115 again. The owners were wonderful and thier condo was just wonderful! Beautiful property and the best place to see the sunset at thier beach or swimming in the salt pool!!

The location of this place was the best! We loved hearing the ocean at night through the windows. The unit was homey and comfortable. It was also stocked with everything you could possibly every need to be able to cook, personal items, and even items for going on excursions! We also enjoyed having 2 pools and hearing the birds everyday. The only thing was it was hard to get parking at night if you were out late and would need to park outside the gate.

We loved this condo!! Cathie was wonderful. She was so fast in answering our questions and was a very gracious host. The condo was great and had everything we needed, plus some extra things we didn’t expect (beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, cooler). We felt very safe and welcome. We loved the location! It was close to our 2 favorite outings: Night snorkeling with the manta rays and hiking to the Captain Cook Monument and snorkeling there.
We will definitely stay there again!

The host has outfitted the place perfectly, even leaving quality snorkeling equipment in multiple sizes. The bed was totally comfortable; I even ordered the same sheets when I got home because they were so rich.
The surf was extra high while I was there, so the salt pool was closed, alas. I look forward to trying it the next time. Nevertheless I swam in the fresh water pool daily, sat by the waves crashing on the rocks where the small "beach" meets the rocks and watched daily, and I slept with windows open to hear the pounding surf. The condo is far enough from the hustle/bustle of the tourist business district, yet convenient for everything you might want. I'll be back. Mahalo. Mahalo mucho.

The condo was very comfortable, nicely laid out, and well-stocked with water recreation equipment, guidebooks, kitchen supplies, washer/drier and dishwasher. The lanai was pleasant and relatively private, and there were great ocean views in the common areas. Check-in was very easy.

We had a wonderful stay in this condo. It is well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay in the condo and for sightseeing and hitting the beaches. We definitely appreciated being able to access beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards! The complex is well maintained - the lounge chairs on the sand, pools and cabana area are excellent places to relax. We ate out every night and many restaurants are a short drive away with amazing food and views. However- cooking in the condo would be a breeze and the barbecues were in great shape. People seemed to enjoy grilling with the great view right out front. Everyone we met was friendly and we were very comfortable everywhere we went. Thanks for sharing your place with us - we would stay there again in a heartbeat and we had a great trip to the big island.

This rental was perfect for our Big Island vacation. Loved the condo being on the first floor with easy access to both pools, bbq area, and to ocean. We enjoyed eating breakfast every morning from the patio and ability to easily watch the sunset at night.
The condo was well equipped with everything we needed.

We had a fabulous time at Casa 115! Everything is as listed. It is so welcoming and charming! We were overwhelmed with all the extras with this unit. They had books galore, games, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards the whole Shabang! Everything was just so comfortable. We really enjoyed taking a dip in the salt water pool after a day of excursions and then settle on the large patio with others to watch the sunset. Everyone is so friendly! I would most definitely love to go back.

It was like being home, away from home. Everything we needed for cooking, eating, cleaning, playing, all there. It was great to walk right out to the pools n group area a few steps from the living room doors. We we very pleased and at peace there. Parking was hit and miss inside the gate, but not really a big deal. Grounds staff was courteous and helpful from the moment we arrived. Would definitely return here in a heartbeat. We stayed a week, then in 2 different hotel type places on Hilo side and kicked ourselves for not just staying the whole 2 weeks at this cozy spot!

My husband and I spent 6 wonderful days here and don't regret the decision to choose this condo as our Kona, Hawaii get away.
We found everything we could ever need to make our time here as easy and comfortable as possible. Everything you could ever need to make a great meal was right there and handy in the well equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and we were able to adjust to the change quickly.
I loved having our breakfasts out on the Lanai every morning and then stroll through the gardens with my morning coffee and checking out the beach. It was always a very quiet and restful time.
The owners provided lots of helpful information and suggestions to make the most of our vacation. They were always readily available for us via email or phone if we had any questions or requests.
We loved the sound of the ocean as it lulled us to sleep every night.
The pools and beach at Casa de Emdeko were a pleasure to come back to each day of exploring. Everyone we met there were most kind and helpful to us.
It definitely is a place I would want to come back to if I come back to the Kona area of Hawaii again and would recommend it to others that are looking to find a place with all the comforts of home plus all the stuff that makes a Hawaiian vacation memorable. Aloha and Mahalo!

My wife and I spent 10 days in the first floor one bedroom condo in Kailua-Kona. It's about 2 miles south of Kailua and about 3 miles from Keeauhou. It's really a quiet location with two pools. The salt water pool is right on the lava rock coastline and a beautiful way to watch a sunset or relax during the day. The condo is well maintained and the bed is very comfortable. The condo is perfect for a couple or possibly a couple with small children, but you'd have to use the hide a bed from the couch. The grounds are well maintained and the little porch is great for eating a meal or having an evening drink. You are about 6 units from the ocean which is good because the waves were quite strong and loud, but being a little bit off the ocean muffled the sound at night.
Cathie Becker is a great owner and easy to work with. Her communications were always timely and helped us through each step of the way.
You will definitely need a rental car since you are about 2 miles from town and the road is busy. You never hear the road because it's blocked by a small commercial/deli building on the road. The people who live in the complex are very friendly and helpful. The three bar-b-ques were great for cooking at night. There is even coffee in the morning at the patio for you to enjoy while sitting out there.
There were plenty of good restaurants in Kailua. Huggos on the Rocks has a nice view right on the water. All the food was good at the restaurants in town and prices were fairly reasonable. We spent most of our days snorkeling in the clear waters with a short drive. Two Step near the City of Refuge about 40 minutes south was the best spot. There's a beach park 3 miles south of the condo which is a good public area. We took the Four Winds to Captain Cook's Bay for snorkeling, but the people using kayaks also looked like they were having fun there. It depends on what you want. We heard Manta Rays at night snorkeling is awesome near the Sheraton. We didn't do it, but people said it was really good. The Kona Brewing Company tour and restaurant is good for lunch. Plenty of choices. There's a Safeway and Costco to shop at in Kailua as well. If you go to the volcanoes, it's about a 3 hour drive from Kailua. We went to Hilo after the volcanoes and spent the night there. We returned coming around the rest of the island the next day. It was worth the money to do it this way.

This unit exceded our expectations for a condo in Hawaii. The unit was well-equiped with quality linens, kitchen tools and utensils (pots, pans, bowls,etc.)..perfect for those who like to cook while on vacation.The pantry was well-stocked when we arrived. Barbecue area is a friendly gathering place while cooking and sipping on a cocktail. The bed is very comfortable. Owners respond quickly to all calls and take pride in their unit. We will return soon.

We stayed in the condo for 5 weeks January through the beginning of February and loved every minute of it. The condo is in a very convenient location- far enough away from the main part of town to be quiet, but just a short drive or easy walk into town. It is a very nice size for 2 people. The bed was extremely comfy, the kitchen well stocked,pleasantly decorated and everything was clean. It was so convenient to have the washer/drier in the suite, and we found the printer to be equally useful since we had some family matters to deal with while we were away. Thanks so much for having the printer there! There was a handy little cooler which we used to take to the beach, and lots of extra beach towels, beach chairs etc. The condo is on the ground floor, which is handy for suitcases, groceries and getting back and forth to the pools and barbecue area. We also enjoyed the small sandy beach area, complete with palm trees, sunsets and whale watching. The condo manager was easy to deal with and friendly as were the owners. At night, if you open the bedroom windows, you can hear the surf, which is a very pleasant addition! As mentioned by others, it is on the south side so the lanai stays shady in the afternoon and the condo doesn't heat up. We also found having the lock box on the door very convenient as we didn't have to remember to take a house key! There were many other Canadians there while we were there so it was nice to touch base with others from home while we were away. This is our 3rd time to Kona, but first time in this condo, but we will not hesitate to return there again!

Everything about our stay was excellent. The condo was clean, and had everything we needed, including a washer and drier. We also liked the location of the condo - on the ground floor and near the ocean so it was easy to get to the salt water pool and the barbecue area. An added bonus - we could see the sunsets from the lanai. It is also on the south side so doesn't get the hot direct sun. The owners were very easy to deal with. The location is quite convenient - only a short drive into town and fairly close to an excellent snorkeling beach.

The owners were very helpful and the condo was clean and comfortable. The bed was great. Loved the ground floor lanai and the salt water pool. The sound of the ocean crashing on the rocks was very peaceful. A wonderful place to stay and we would love to go back. I was at first reluctant to give a review on our stay at this property only because I do not want it to be in such demand I may not get it the next time I go. Really though, what a deal. Ground floor which is a plus at this complex, quiet, close to the beach and everything you could possibly need while you stay there. I was very impressed to find it spotless as though it was my own house and as clean as I keep mine. I spent a lot of time in the salt water pool, so much nicer in my opinion than a chlorine pool. The owner was very accommodating and let us check in earlier since there was no one occupying the unit before us. If there was a 6 star rating I would give it one.

This was a very speacial trip for my mother and I . This condo worked out perfectly for us. The bed was super comfortable and the pull out bed was surprisingly comfortable as well. The condo is located in a great area. The salt water pool was amazing! Perfect for a night swim or having the experience of swimming in a tropical place without the fear of being stung by a sea urchin. The condo was clean, nice tv's , clean fridge. We felt at home there.
