The condo is pictured accurately to reflect the home. The view is beautiful. We enjoyed the tennis courts, mini golf, and shuffle board. The pools are nice and the grounds are well kept. There is no beach (which we knew) but we missed that nonetheless.
I would say that the furnishings and contents (towels etc) of the condo could use an update/refresh. We were a family of 4 who stayed 11 days. We had to buy basics such as paper products (toilet paper, napkins, and paper towels) because there was a very limited supply which was disappointing and annoying given the overall cost of the stay. I expect to have enough of those items on site to last the length of our visit. There was also nothing extra such as saran wrap, foil, or even salt/pepper, etc...so, plan to buy all of those things at the store. We also would have liked a coffee bean grinder which they did not have although there is plenty of room in the cabinets for such.
Overall, we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay, especially the view. However, I would rate this a 3.5 -4 star unit as compared to other places that we have stayed on the Hawaiian islands.

We had a wonderful week at Carol's condo. She helped me keep my husband's 75th birthday surprise by communicating directly with me. Both my husband, myself and your 2 adult daughters loved the condo-great view-overlooking the pool, the ocean and the island of Molokai, location-beaches, stores, restaurants, food trucks, snorkeling and close to both Kapalua and Kaanapali, and amenities-beach chairs, coolers, outdoor grills at the pool, Koi pond, walking path, cabana with tables and chairs, outdoor showers, Pickleball, and even a putting green!. Carol was a wealth of information. This was our 3rd stay on Maui and definitely our best!

This condo was perfect for our family of 5. Very spacious and CLEAN. My daughter especially liked the loft area which gave her some space. The view from the balcony was gorgeous. Everything you need to cook a meal is in their well stocked kitchen, or if not up for cooking there is a food truck area within walking distance that undoubtedly will have something for everyone.
Plenty of chairs by the pool and grass area overlooking the ocean. The pool was sparkling clean as well.
We found the beach chairs and umbrella came in handy to take on our snorkeling outings.
We would absolutely stay here again.

The ocean view from the fourth floor condo on Maui's northwest side was wonderful. The property was quiet on well manicured grounds and provided many fun activities. The condo was very clean and comfortable and provided everything we needed, plus additional items (beach chairs, beach towels) we didn't expect. This home was near many of the things we wanted to do (snorkel, swim in the ocean, relax on the beach, attend a luau, hike in the mountains, eat at good restaurants). Carol was very helpful in suggesting activities and places to see, and was very prompt in answering any questions I had. We had a wonderful time here and would definitely stay again when in Maui.

The condo could not have been any better! It housed our family of six, five adults and a 5-year-old perfectly. It was just as described, perfectly appointed, clean, excellent view of property and ocean. The communication with the owner made it even more special. We spent the week of March 18th to the 25th and the accommodations were perfect for our group of 6 which consisted of two couples and my elderly mother and aunt.
This unit overlooks the pool and far exceeded our expectations! It’s well stocked with just about anything you’ll need while you visit, including plenty of extra towels in both bathrooms and a pillow menu that can be found in the master closet. There were beach chairs for everyone an umbrella, boogie boards and ice chests to borrow.
Best of all, the view is amazing! You’ll have clear, unobstructed views of the ocean from the balcony and master. Each night we opened the windows and slept listening to the waves. Another plus is that it’s within walking distance to ABC Stores where they have a full kitchen and you can order up hot food all day, a grocery store, restaurants and beach.
Carol is an amazing host and was available anytime should we have questions prior to arrival and checked in with me the day after to make sure everything was going well.
I would definitely stay again and hope to! I would recommend K404 at the Papakea Resort to all my friends and family.

Out vacation stay at Carol's property was fantastic! The condo is in a great central location to many activities on the island. It has a beautiful ocean and pool view. It is well equipped with everything we needed for our stay including beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers, etc. The property is very clean, quiet and spacious. The kitchen is equipped with everything we needed for cooking our own meals. The in unit washer and dryer were great. We came as a family of 6, with kids ages 11-20. With three bedrooms there was plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably. The grounds of the property were beautiful. There are 2 pools and hot tubs, a putting green, and tennis and pickleball courts. So much fun for everyone. We hope to return some day!

Stayed at Carol's Papakea condo over Thanksgiving. The place was super nice and clean, had everything our family of 4 needed. The place is right on the water and super close to so much going on along the west coast - it is a great home base for exploring the island. Carol is very responsive and accommodating. The property manager was also super responsive and friendly. We had a small electrical issue while we were there, and they responded immediately after we notified them and took care of the issue super quickly - it defintiely felt like a priority.

This is our second time back to Papakea and it was just as amazing as the first time we went. We have 6 total guest in the condo and we all slept so perfectly and everyone was so please with how comfy the beds were! We had everything we needed from beach chairs, coolers, floaty noodles, towels, etc. for the beach. The kitchen was well equipped as well for the times we decided to cook in. Carol sent us messages through out the week to make sure we were doing great and we appreciated this so much. We will definitely be back to Maui and contacting Carol to rent her property again!

We had a wonderful family vacation at Carol's condo. The view of the ocean from the balcony was beautiful. It was really nice to be able to eat our breakfast and a couple of dinners on the balcony. Carol was a supurb host. She thought of everything to make the say comfortable and easy - most appreciated were the beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, pool noodles, and an ample supply of necessities (so often not provided by some hosts). We did not have to run to the store immediately after our long flight and jet lag to pick up TP and soap. Thank you for your consideration, Carol!
The condo itself is beautiful, sunny, well appointed, and on a great property. Plenty of room for the family to spread out. We enjoyed nightly sunsets on the lawn overlooking the ocean, poolside bar-b-que, the lovely heated pool, and immaculate grounds. So much to see on Maui, and Carol provided a thorough list of nice beaches, sights, and activities, as well as some useful guide books. Our adult children especially enjoyed snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, and kite surfing. Food trucks nearby were convenient on two nights when we got back late from sightseeing/activities and it was too late to cook or wait at a restaurant.
Pack warm clothes for sunset at Haleakala. It is worth seeing!

Wow! Where do I begin? This condo was truly the highlight to our Maui trip. The view to the living room was out if this world beautiful. Almost like a postcard. Carol, the host, was ahhhmazing, helpful, responsive, attentive, and very friendly! Everything in the condo was super clean. I'm talking every dish was clean, every sheet and towel was clean. I never questioned anything there...and let me tell ya, I'm a hawk when it comes to things like that. 100% Great location and if you're worried about a beach not being there, dont you worry because its walking distance from your room. Last but not least, there is A/C and it works great!

This unit was so well-maintained and beautiful, plus it had everything we needed for an enjoyable vacation., plus a wonderful view from the lanai. There were beach chairs and beach towels, laundry and dish detergent. The grounds and pool were immaculately maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The unit owner provided suggestions for dining and activities and seemed genuinely interested in us having a good time. We are already figuring out when we can come again.

This spacious condo with a beautiful top floor view is perfect for a nicer family vacation. Quiet, clean and comfortable to relax in with a superb balcony for enjoying a meal. Pool is nice and fun beach is a few steps away. We floated on boogie boards using the gear in the condo and just walking to the beach to the left. Very convenient location that provides easy options for eating out or cooking in. Lahaina is a very short drive for shave ice and surf lessons. The beach walkway to kanapali is also close and easily accessible on foot from here. Unlike other condos, we also liked having the front lobby staff to help us book activities and provide other advice. Highly recommended if you want a mix of quietude and convenient location to do other things. Carol is also highly responsive if any issues arise in the unit.

My family and I stayed at this property in June 2022. The location is ideal for beach use and dining options. Short drive to Lahaina for shopping and dining on Front St. The unit is well appointed and has all kitchen needs covered, even chip clips.
About a 40 min drive from the airport. If arriving after dark, the drive from the airport is a bit winding. Not "Road to Hana" winding but still needs focus when driving.
The Master Bedroom gets the morning sun, so it can get a bit bright early in the morning (6:30a). It is a small thing though. Overall, we had a wonderful visit.

Our stay at Carol's Papakea home was amazing! The property is gorgeous, so well maintained and Carol's home had everything we needed for our week long stay; beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, a well stocked kitchen, mini split air units and fans. The loft is very spacious and the master a great size with a beautiful ocean view. Lovely short walk to the sand and the pool, shuffle board, mini golf and gas grills. We loved sitting on the deck in the mornings with coffee and sunsets on the grassy area in front of the property. Great for families and in the perfect location to beaches, snorkeling and shopping. Our family loved spending a portion of our vacation in Maui. The home in Papekea was wonderful. It was close to everything, yet quiet enough to get away from the busy crowds. Carol, the owner was a splendid communicator, and one could tell that she takes pride in hostessing. The view from the lanai was gorgeous.

My girlfriend and I and my mom brought my 3 kids (ages 13, 10, and 6) to Maui for spring break. We were delighted when we arrived at Carol’s place. Her description was accurate but doesn’t quite do it justice. The view is spectacular, the rooms are spacious and the condo is well-equipped with all of the amenities of home. I’ve stayed in numerous VRBO and other rental setups and Carol’s upgrades and house amenities are among the best I’ve experienced. The AC units are very effective and no matter what others say, I think the ACs are a requirement…Carol’s place is well equipped.
Carol also has 5 beach chairs, other folding chairs, boogie boards and travel coolers, along with some float noodles. The pool and shuffle board are great and so is the putting green. We saw some fantastic sunsets and whales too. Supermarket, snorkel rentals, coffee shops, ABC stores are all within a short walking distance as are several beaches.
You can’t go wrong here, highly, highly recommend! Thank you again Carol.

This was our first time staying in this area of Maui, but could not have picked a better place! The condo is exactly as advertised with amazing views, great pools and other fun activities! Carol was great to work with, providing helpful information before our departure, insights and suggestions to local activities and quick response to questions while were were there. The complex is beautifully maintained and only a short walk from food carts, shopping, beaches and minutes from Lahaina. It had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation and already looking into returning soon!!

This was our second trip to Maui and was everything we hoped for. First, Carol is an absolutely fantastic host. She provides detailed recommendations for restaurants, activities, locations, etc with contact info AND her own personal experience and "local knowledge." This was really helpful in determining activities and restaurants but also how to be sure we get what we want by doing what the locals do. We loved the personal touch. Additionally, she provided detailed check-in/wifi/need to know info, checked in, made sure we had everything we needed, and even pleasantly accommodated a request outside of the norm with no hassle! Carol is wonderful.
Second, the condo was comfortable, had an amazing view, easily accommodated our group of 5 (3 adults, 2 kids) and could have accommodated a few more. The beds were comfy, we had plenty of towels, and it was fully stocked with cookware and beach chairs, coolers, pool noodles, boogie boards, etc. Everything we needed. Additionally, the room has a full view of the ocean and we enjoyed our lunches and dinners on the lanai while soaking in the trade winds and watching whales breech in the distance.
Third, the property is gorgeous and in a great location. The pool was great (we couldn't get my kids out of it), hot tub was toasty, and everything was immaculate and clean (we watched the staff clean it every morning!). There is a putting course, tennis and pickle ball courts, and other activities. Finally, the location is ideal. Easily walkable to a grocery store, several restaurants, coffee shop, snorkel shop, giant food truck "village", and beach access. It's easily driveable to Kaanapali beach, Napili bay, Kapalua bay, Lahaina, and others. Nothing was more than a 5-15 min drive.
All in all, everything was well above 5 stars and we've already inquired about staying again next year. Don't hesitate to book with Carol!

We have been staying at Papakea since 1982. We have been in many units. When we first started staying here, all reservations were made through the resort. Now, you have different people and managers handling the properties. It’s not as good in my opinion. This property has beautiful views of the ocean. It’s nice to have carpet in part of the unit. It’s in pretty good condition and has air conditioning throughout. The loft does not have a bathroom, and many of the fourth floor units do. If you have small children, they can fall through the staircase slats. Many of the fourth floor condos also have a drape that you can pull across the rail upstairs for
Privacy, but this one did not. There were no seasonings other than salt and pepper. Washer is okay, but only put three beach towels in at a time. We would not rent this property again for a few reasons, but it’s nice enough.

Such an amazing find! Papakea is a gem of a resort with a real feeling of community and obvious care from its staff. The view from the unit is just as beautiful as pictured, but what it can't show you is how wonderful the ocean sounds from your rooms and the lanai!
The kitchen is thoughtfully appointed, and included everything we needed to make some excellent meals. Really appreciated the Tupperware, especially.
Easy access to so many favorites, too. Only a short walk to Times supermarket, the beach walk, the Fish Market, the Farmer's Market, and Bad Ass Coffee. Also got us to explore a new part of the coast, which was great.
We really enjoyed our stay, and are already thinking about booking again for next year. Highly recommend!

Loved our stay! The property is great/as advertised and the location is perfect. Minutes from Lahina or a short drive if you want to head up around the North Shore. Great dining and activities are close and there's a grocery store across the street if needed. Very comfortable for our party of six. Would definitely book here again.

We absolutely loved this location! The pictures don’t even do it justice. We were traveling as 3 couples and had a blast. We would travel around the island during the day and relax at night in the hot tub and sit on the deck in the morning sipping coffee and whale watch. Carol was very easy to communicate with. She gave us great ideas of places to eat and things to do. We have traveled all over the world and this is the best VRBO owner we have ever had!! The condo was well stocked. The outdoor patio was wonderful for coffee & breakfast, while enjoying a breathtaking view of the ocean and mountains. The convenience of this location is superb- it has everything you could ask for in walking distance or 5-10 minute driving distance! What a great time! We had a party of 6, with 2 kids (6 & 9). The unit was a perfect fit and had a beautiful view. Coffee every morning on lanai, listening to the waves crash was amazing. The owner of the unit was always available from the time we booked. If we had questions or needed info, she was there, no delays or concerns at all. She was proactive during the trip, sending an email just to assure we had everything we needed and to see if we had any questions. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. Kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, she has some DVD's available to watch (if kids need some down time), even a couple board games if you need to get out of the sun for a bit! We used it all. The bedroom with two beds was tucked back in the unit, which was nice for the kids. Having AC was great too. Although not necessary all the time with the great airflow you get by having the lanai doors open but when it's time to cool down, it was wonderful. We really couldn't have ask for a better trip, starting with the hospitality. Thanks Carol for sharing your home for a couple weeks! We loved every second of our vacation! Mahalo, from Colorado.

We loved this property and would love to go back again. Communication with the owner Carol was great and she even checked on us when we were there. It was perfect for our family of 5 ( all adults) plenty of room for everyone to sit in the family room or the patio. We shopped at Costco and cooked 1/2 our meals, the kitchen had all the cooking utensils, pots and pans, plates, cups and silverware we needed. There was even chairs, towels, shade umbrella ( a must), boogie boards and coolers for the beach. The kitchen and bathrooms were upgraded and very clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable. WiFi and cable in the condo. AC units in all the rooms and they worked great! The facility has 2 pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, pickleball courts, shuffle board and putt putt golf - you go to the office book it and they have what you need. There is a large grassy area for yoga, kids to play or just to sit and watch sunset or sunrise. I was very impressed with the facility it was very well maintained compared to other places we walked through. We walked to the beach at the next door hotel and it was less than 5 mins walk. There was an ABC store, grocery store walking distance and very close if you needed anything. 2 strip malls close ( 10 min walk) with a Coffee place , small fish market, breakfast place and food trucks every evening. All around perfect vacation place!

Papakea K404 is an incredible property in a unique serenity location that has everything to offer. The view is beautiful from the condo. You can walk eight minutes to the beach to body surf or play in the sand or enjoy various restaurants, ABC stores, and a complete grocery store, Times Supermarket. The well-stocked house has everything guests need, from household items, beach toys, chairs, and boogie boards to feel at home. One can open the sliding doors to the lania to see, hear and smell the ocean. The Papakea grounds are well-manicured, and the pool and grill areas are maintained daily. There would be plenty of parking spaces if one rented a car. Plus, the Ka'anapali area is a close drive to beachside Whalers Village with boutiques, diverse restaurants, and activities. Carol, the property owner, was accommodating in answering our questions and was super helpful in making sure we had what was needed for a fabulous stay. We highly recommend this property!!

Very nice and well equipped condo. Convenient to everything. Nice view from the balcony. Carol was helpful and responsive to our needs. We had a wonderful vacation and can't wait to come back. We would definitely stay here again.

We were a group of 3 couples in our 30s-40s. The condo was perfect for us. The grounds are very well kept and the resort maintains a quiet, casual, peaceful slice of paradise. We ventured through many of the neighbouring resorts and wouldn't have wanted to be any other place than Papakea.
The condo is spotless and so comfortable. I recommend opening up the expansive screened windows in the master to sleep. The sound of the rhythmic waves and palm fronds bustling in the breeze will make anyone sleep like a baby. The condo is equipped with 4 beach chairs, coolers, and boogie boards.
There is a food truck lot that's about a 5-minute walk that is fun. The Fish Market just North of the ABC store is also highly recommended. We frequented that place a bit excessively because it was so good.
Ultimately, Papakea K404 was perfect and I feel like we hit the jackpot for rentals. It would be great for groups of friends or families.
