Magic Sands Retreat was perfect! The property is centrally located. We were able to explore the entire island and come home to prepare quick meals in the well equipped kitchen. We loved all the beach accessories at the home. Having beach items made our experience at the beautiful beaches amazing. The home is surrounded by lush landscape that is home to many birds and geckos which our little one loved! The home is comfortable, cozy, well equipped, with lots of outdoor seating areas. We are also very happy with the property management company as they checked on our well being and were very accessible if we had needed any assistance. We would also like to thank the owners and property management staff as they were accommodating to an unforeseen family emergency requiring travel modifications. Our family was treated with respect, sympathy, care, and compassion. Thank you for sharing the ohana love!

We spent a week at Magic Sands Retreat Hale in November 2024. The house is great, and the location canʼt be beat. We could walk down to Magic Sands Beach in just a few minutes, even though the neighborhood is very quiet. There were plenty of beach chairs, two umbrellas, boogie boards and sand toys. There was even a wagon that we could load up and take to the beach. The management company was very quick to respond to questions. I highly recommend this property.

This wasn’t a rental property, this was a beautiful home. The house was charming and beautifully decorated. The small residential lot was gorgeously landscaped and meticulously maintained. It was much nicer than the pictures. I’ve never enjoyed a rental more. It’s located in a quiet residential area two blocks from the beach. Not on the water, but I absolutely loved it.

We had a wonderful time during our stay here. The home was incredibly clean and the perfect set up for our family of five. We used the kitchen a lot to cook, especially breakfast and dinner. There were lots of supplies for beach days, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, even a wagon. The location was very convenient and made exploring the Kona coast so easy.

With less than 5 min walk to Magic Sands Beach the perfect location. Close to Alii Drive (main drag) and just far enough away to retreat and relax at the end of the day. This home was recently remodeled, and it shows. Everything you need for a day at the beach is also there. The yards surrounding the property are amazing and full of plant and bird life. As a bonus, few friendly geckos help keep the mosquito population down. Just great.

We found the home very nicely appointed and very clean. Located on a nice street and very quiet! Driveway has just enough room for 2 cars. I would not say it's centrally located, being about 15 min drive from down town, but probably much quieter than a down town location. There are no 'real' restaurants within walking distance for example. It's a few minutes walk to the beach, but that's really just a nice bonus and not really a major benefit as the beach is small and quite rocky. It's fun to see the sunset there, but don't expect to spend a day a the beach there. Only small issue we had was we could not get some of the power outlets working. The issue was never resolved. Note that 3rd bedroom (with 2 beds) is really not technically a bedroom as it has no closet. Overall we loved it and these small points are just to provide information and not meant to be complaints.

We had a wonderful stay at the Magic Sands Retreat. The location is perfect. A short walk to the beach is a big feature, we loved that. When we arrived we found the house immaculate, that is a big plus for my family. The management team is helpful and well informed regarding the area and the home. The kitchen is well equipped and has large counter space. The house has air conditioning in all of the rooms so it's easy to be comfortable.This was our third year staying in this home and we are looking forward to next year.

Our small family group enjoyed this great house near Magic Sands Beach. We could walk there in about 2 or 3 minutes, yet the house itself is in a quiet neighborhood. It is well-maintained, not that big, but with a large well-furnished deck out back that runs the length of the house. We spent a lot of time out there. Property management was responsive. I would recommend this to friends or relatives. We would rent here again next time we visit Kona.

In 2013 we had stayed in Kona at a hotel. but this time we wanted to rent a house to have more flexibility. We came across this listing and could not believe this house was available.
We got the three bedrooms as we figured our daughters (20 & 17) would not want to share a room...we were wrong. They shared the room with the twin beds and loved it. The kitchen was brand new and updated. Everything we needed was there.
We especially enjoyed the deck/lanai in the morning where we had breakfast/tea/coffee.
A bonus for us was that the house had beach chairs, boogie boards, and coolers for our beach days. Also, it was a few minutes to walk to Magic Sands Beach. After traveling for many hours it was perfect to walk to the beach and see the sunset on our arrival day.
We would happily stay here again.

Very nice, well kept, three bedroom house. I can confirm the third bedroom now has two twin beds. Lots of room for everyone inside and the outside decks are great for relaxing and having meals. Plenty of equipment for snorkeling and just hanging at the beach.

Great location. Beautiful home. The back porch is amazing and feels so private with all of the trees and plants. Lovely for hanging out on. Rooms are nice size, showers are good and water pressure is strong. Kitchen is FILLED with stuff to cook with and store food in. If you like to cook, this place has everything you’ll need, maybe even 2 of each! 😆Beds were comfortable and even when we had an issue, they reached out to manage it quickly. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again. If you have good mobility, the walk to the beach is relatively easy, even with a couple hills.

The Magic Sands Retreat Hale was our last stay during a bucket list vacation for our family of 5. We stayed at a hotel resort during our stay at Waikiki on Oahu, in a Vrbo condo on Maui, and finally at this house on the Big Island. Of the three different lodgings during our vacation, the Magic Sands Retreat was our favorite. Communication from Knutson & Associates was excellent throughout the booking process and stay. They even surprised us with a wonderful welcome basket upon arrival. The house was beautiful, and its immaculate landscaping makes it feel like it is isolated from surrounding houses. It is a short walk to Magic Sands Beach and very convenient to other Kona area locations. We did day trips to Hilo and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. I highly recommend this property and the Knutson & Associates Property Management & Real Estate Sales team.

If I could leave 6 stars I would. Can't express enough how great a stay we had. The house was perfectly comfortable wnd all bedrooms had AC. Foe the beach, they had what you needed. Boogey boards, snorkels, beach chairs, coolers, a wagon, they even had Aloe for those inevitable days of too much sun. Walking distance to the beach, a few miles from some great restaurants. If you're in Kona, this is the place to stay!!

We rented a small house from Knutson & Associates for our 18 day vacation and it was Awesome! Beautiful house, fully equipped for all of our needs. Beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, umbrellas and more.The kitchen is well equipped and easy to work in. The house is on a quiet street with very little traffic. The yard is beautifully maintained with fully grown vegetation making it almost jungle like.One great feature, you can walk to Magic Sands Beach in mere minutes, perfect for sunsets, morning swims and relaxing.

Our family of 5 adults and 1 baby really enjoyed our stay here. AC in every room was a blessing and there were multiple fans around the house. The floors were clean and laundry on site helped with our need to pack less. The house had a cooler bag, beach chairs and umbrella, which helped with our day trips and beach days and we would definitely stay here again.

It‘s really only a five minute walk to the beach. We had breakfast on the porch every morning, the kids loved playing in the garden and watched the geckos.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property! On more than one occasion we grabbed our suits and the beach umbrella and towels provided by the property and made the short 4 min walk to the nearby Magic Sands Beach. Crossing Al'li Dr was no major issue and the water was beautiful. We leveraged the washer/dryer on several occasions and the only issue I had was reaching into the large washer to grab socks at the bottom. I'm 5'2" and could have used to a step stool as the unit was definitely oversized. Nice for fitting in large loads but tough on a us short people! LOL The house had everything we could have needed and more (bug spray included). We'd come back in a heartbeat!

Magic Sands Retreat was the perfect spot for our extended Hawaiian vacation. We wanted an at-home experience, and the well-equipped kitchen made it easy to cook and enjoy meals on the expansive lanai. The property was spotless when we arrived, and the management company was accessible and very responsive. A car is a must to fully explore all the restaurants of Kailua-Kona and the northern beaches, but there are also local options. Every detail has been thought through, and there is everything you need to enjoy a day at the beach, cocktails on the lanai, morning coffee, or a BBQ. I would recommend this property to family and friends.

Finding this house in Kona was a real gem! Everything was brand new - the furnishings, the beach chairs, the kitchen appliances. Easy walk to a great beach but it was located in a quiet out of the way place away from hotels and tourists. We had to stay in hotels on Oahu and this property set such a high bar it was a tough adjustment after being in this house for 5 nights. This was one of the best VRBO properties we’ve ever stayed in! I would not hesitate to rebook if I’m back in Kona!
