This property is absolutely perfect! Great location, great accommodations and the kitchen has everything you need. The bedrooms can get warm even with the AC units, but we knew that getting into it. The owners were very responsive to a few small issues we had and were very kind. Book this place, we will definitely be back!

Beautiful home and outdoor area, overlooking the pool and the ocean. We loved waking up in the morning and enjoying the views over coffee, and the kids loved easy access to the pool. There is a gorgeous, fully stocked kitchen, and the location is a close drive to Kona shopping and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Prepare for breathtaking views from the Lanai (back covered porch) the reason for four Stars in Location was because there are no hiking trails and grocery stores near the property without a vehicle. Large grocery store chains are about 10-20 minutes drive. The pool is amazing, heated Jacuzzi is a total wow. BBQ grill, and French press as well as regular coffee maker. The home was clean and well appointed. Unfortunately we saw issues with the maintenance staff. They persisted in parking in our assigned shaded spot leaning us to park in the sun everyday. They painted all the parking spots while we were here blocking us out and they parked in our spot even before and after painting.
The pool maintenance people had not checked the hot tub water level for at least 2 days and it gurggled and sputtered for those first 2 days. We are leaving today and is is low on water again. park

House was perfect and the kitchen was stocked the best I have ever seen in a VRBO. The host was kind enough to supply a starter coffee set, trash backs, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent. The only thing I forgot to ask was did the unit have a/c. Many properties in Kona do not.
The unit does not have central air conditioning, but the upstairs bedrooms have stand alone units. For me it was not enough in the hot part of the day but my friend staying downstairs was just fine. It all depends on your preference.
The pool was amazing and I can't say enough good things about the host.

The house was amazing! Great location, beautiful home, well stocked kitchen, lots of pool and beach supplies, helpful property management staff!
The only negative is the lack of central air conditioning. As advertised, the bedrooms had air conditioners. The fans and breeze from the windows were helpful, but we were uncomfortable much of the time.

Beautiful and great pool. Would not recommend staying in august or hottest months. Only master bedroom had an external standing air conditioner. Not comfortable temperature in that room. The rest of the place had no air conditioning. Impossible to sleep.

Beautiful unit, very spacious and comfortable.Quiet and good separation between bedrooms which was great with small kids. Kitchen was so well appointed; fridge was huge, and it was so pleasant to be in the kitchen looking out at the waves crashing on the rocks just outside. The beach closet was well stocked with snorkel sets, boogie boards, noodles, etc. Our kids were so happy ! Beautiful views from the lanai- perfect for relaxed evenings. Highly recommend this beautiful spot !

Family trip- 2 parents and 2 teenagers. Enjoyed the space to spread out. Only improvement to suggest would be an AC unit in the downstairs bedroom. Plenty of kitchen supplies and beach equipment.

The views from the unit were beautiful, some of us woke up early and enjoyed the morning crashing waves. The sunsets were breathtaking and it was in close driving range from downtown Kona. The description says AC, however that is only true in 2 of the rooms, the rest of the house is very warm throughout the day, even with the ventilated window strategy. Beaches were in walking distance, not on the property, but the pool was nice and clean. No shoes were allowed in the house, that was a surprise for us, and we did encounter some bugs, including cockroaches. Overall it was a wonderful trip, a great location for our family, and will provide lasting positive memories for all of us.

The house is fantastic and exactly as described. The lanai overlooks the pool and the ocean and a great location for a home base. The kitchen is so well stocked with everything you need- even a blender to make a smoothie. We appreciated the cooler and ice bags so we could pack a picnic for Volcanoes National Park. There are 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor each with a bathroom. The one with the king bed has a balcony that also overlooks the pool and ocean. When we were there, the weather was hot, but there was a portable AC in each of the upstairs bedrooms so that was helpful. Our kids stayed in the room downstairs and it was made with 2 twin beds. It is really part of the family room - though there are doors that can be pulled to separate it- but no one can be in the living room without keeping those in that space awake. No AC in that area, but the ceiling fan kept it OK. I would stay here again and recommend it!

This is a really special complex of 12 or so units, beautifully sited for privacy and views. Our unit was beautiful, well equipped and located. The sliding doors and wooden staircase are fantastic. There is some structural work on the deck/lanai that should be done in the near future.

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The lanai, the upstairs patio and the tranquility of the oceans’ lullaby ever night as well as the nightly sunsets in the volcanic rock tide pools beachside were highlights. However it was a condo complex so neighbors were close. I would not return in summer months as there was no a/c in communal areas of our unit (I don’t like it too warm).

We were a group of 6 adults that enjoyed this beautiful property for 2 weeks.You cannot beat the view and location of this house.We always felt safe and the area was very quiet.We often had the pool to ourselves, but was never over crowded even when other residents were around. We saw many whales and dolphins right from our lanai and the pool area.The kitchen is very well stocked and clearly labeled where everything is located. There was enough toiletries, dish soap, laundry detergent etc for our 2 week stay. There are coolers, beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling gear etc. available. A lot of this equipment is in a locked area in the parking lot, which we didn’t realize for a few days after we arrived. Make sure you read the binder when you first arrive!
There are only a couple of things worth mentioning.The main floor bedroom is a bit crowded for 2 adults with not much closet space or room to set luggage. A mirror would be a nice addition to this bedroom.
We used the lower lanai the most out of any other area of the house. Unfortunately, the furniture is quite weathered and needs to be refinished or replaced. We found the cushions too large for the chairs and uncomfortable to sit on. A ceiling fan would be nice for air movement. These are all 1st world problems!
Overall, this is a beautiful property and we would book again in a heartbeat!

We loved this house. All 10 units are separate and are located on a point in a quiet area of Kona, about a mile from a wonderful snorkel/surf beach and with its own cove for snorkeling. The unit has tall ceilings and spacious rooms, adding to an overall sense of roominess and space. We had our 2 adult kids with us and everyone had a great time enjoying the sunsets and pool hot tub which were never busy. We felt very lucky to have found Dorene's incredibly beautiful home, with its comfortable furnishings and well equipped kitchen -- has everything you need. Photos are, if anything, not quite able to capture the stunning views from most rooms in the house. All communications were answered very quickly and kindly. Thanks to Dorene for a wonderful week in Kona. We will surely be back!

We can’t say enough great things about our time here at this property. It’s absolutely perfect! The location is right on the ocean front, just two mins walk from magic sands beach and the views ware breathtaking. The house very large and everything you would need for the most comfortable stay. We travelled with a 6 year old and a baby and it was just so perfect for us. The pool was very quiet and we had it to ourselves. Our host was wonderful and communicative when we needed something and otherwise left us alone. It’s an absolutely gorgeous house and we will remember our stay there forever and already taking about going back! Thank you Doreen!

The view was wonderful and the furnishings were nicely done. It's not really meant for 6 adults, as the two twin beds are in a small space with low to the ground beds and very small powder room/bathroom. It is definitely designed for children. The advertised closeness to the nearby Magic Beach is a very small and very crowded beach - so we drove north in search of better options which we found. The community pool is tired as is the pool furniture and there was a lot of heavy maintenance of various types going on the entire week we were there. Those truths aside, it is a nice house in a small community cluster with nice ocean views. Great for the price.

We had such a fantastic time! Communication was great - the property manager was wonderful and helpful as well. The view was great (ocean and pool), the amenities were wonderful, the place was gorgeous. The location next to a beach was perfect for us, along with walking distance to a restaurant. It was so much fun! We will plan to come back.

LOVED our stay. We felt this home was THE BEST location in the gated complex for keeping an eye out on the pool activities. Enjoyed the rule of having a parent in the pool with kids under 12…all was fun/safe. Everything (ie appliances, etc) worked well. We definitely plan to come back! 😍😁🤩

This is far and away the best vacation home I have had the pleasure to stay in. It is 1 of a few units in Kona Onenalo. It overlooks the pool and hot tub which is almost always empty - so quiet and private. The view beyond the pool is northwest toward Magic Sands. You can catch good views of better riders from the balconies (binoculars included - as are so many other toys with this place). The home is huge with high ceilings and a grand feeling. New appliances and sunset perfect BBQ made it so easy to live somewhat cheap while on the Big Island. You get to walk to Magic Sands and a couple of other wonderful beaches. 1 of the bedrooms has a portable AC and was real nice for tucking away and catching a nap. My favorite spot was the lawn on the southwest corner of the house where the waves break onto the rocks with sweeping views down the coast - nice quiet shaded spot to hang out. The maintenance crew around this place is outstanding as well. They are quiet and the most I noticed them was the huge bunch of fresh bananas they left hanging by the front gate 1 morning - sweet! Could not recommend this place more. Can't wait to come back.

Loved the views and ocean breezes because air conditioning was available in only one room. We had some trouble with the dead bolt lock and key sticking - worried we would break the key but could always lock the door. The views are indescribably beautiful. Beds are comfortable. Hapuna beach was out of this world! Thanks for the reco. Would love to stay here again.

Beautiful house with a great view of the beach. Close to shops and restaurants. Kitchen was well stocked. Very convenient to have a laundry machine inside. There were even beach chairs, a beach umbrella, beach toys, boogie boards and snorkel gear provided. I loved the view from the lanai downstairs and from the master bedroom. Waking up to birds chirping while watching & listening to the waves crash against the lava rocks was pure heaven! Would definitely come back to this amazing home away from home.

We loved our stay at Kona Onenalo. This home is in a great location to enjoy snorkeling, playing in the waves at Magic Sands Beach, and laying by the pool. We walked to Magic Cove every day to snorkel...pretty much had the entire cove to ourselves every time, other than the thousands of tropical fish we shared the space with. Afternoons were spent with a five minute walk to Magic Sands Beach where the kids loved riding the boogie boards and playing in the waves. We could walk out our back door and almost fall in the pool, which was amazing. The house is a quick 10-12 minute drive to restaurants in Kailua and is 5-7 minutes from great golf to the south. Couldn’t have found a better location for our family. Our only wish was for an air conditioner as it was warm and humid while we were there and the house gets pretty warm, especially during the day. Overall though, hard to complain about anything in such a beautiful place. Thanks to Dorene for sharing your great home with us!

My family has an amazing time on the Big Island. This property was perfect for our needs. The wonderful views, the quiet & serene setting, the great location (close to lots of things to do but not in the thick of it), the well equipped kitchen for cooking some meals, the extra supplies to help get started, the beach chairs, towels and boogie boards, and so much more!! We also thoroughly enjoyed the “almost private” pool just outside the lanai. Thanks for letting us enjoy your rental home! Everywhere you looked there were amazing views. The owner had everything you need...we typically bring some stuff because most of the condo we have stayed at have limited supplies...Not at this place! This place is definitely deserves the full 5 stars!
