The Royal Mauian is by far one of the best locations to enjoy your time on Maui, we have stayed here countless times, this time we were able to enjoy 608 for the first time. The location of this unit is direct ocean front~you can watch the turtles from your lanai. The unit is very well appointed, clean and comfortably. The location is superb. Convenient to restaurants and shops across the street. Our view looked out to the west resulting sunset pictures every night. The beach (Kamaole Beach I) is a short walk out the back door of the building. This unit looks onto the beach and onto the primary snorkeling area. The building is well maintained and clean. Being on the top floor we had no issue with noise. Golf and the mega resorts are minutes away and we enjoyed the convenience of Wailea.
The disaster from the wild fires did not impact Kihei or Wailea. Or for that matter Paia and Kahului, etc. etc. We had an amazing meal at Mama’s Fish House. The restaurants, shops, golf courses, everything continued as if nothing had happened. During this anniversary trip, we visited the big island of Hawaii for a week and Kauai for a week and spent two weeks in Kihei on Maui at this property. Despite the tragedy in Lahaina (which happened three days after our arrival) we had a wonderful time on Maui. The owner of this property and the manager were available and helpful. The convenience is better than 5 stars. You can have a luxury meal on the ocean or walk to pick up sushi and a pizza and eat on the lanai with a cocktail during sunset. My wife and I enjoyed our four mile walk every morning and the entire walk was along side the ocean.

The condo is great. The room etc and the location of building very nice. Best place in kihei. We stay in this building at least 1-2 times a year. Unfortunately the property manager is not easy to communicate with. She called and texted numerous times to make sure the unit was being kept clean. One day she called and left message saying they would be entering unit to do maintenance thruout day. We didn’t want somebody coming and going while we were not there, and as we had paid for this unit these days have always had managers do maintenance when condo empty. many voice and text messages about keeping condo clean. Which of course we did. requested we clean the bed sheets and fold and remake bed and do towels . All these things which are not in contract…. it felt very intrusive. As we have been coming to islands the last 23 years over 40 plus times and alway respect the rentals we use… we found This manager hard to deal with and over bearing. Very unfortunate bc condo was quite good for what we thought it would be (accommodation wise!)

We chose this condo mainly because of the view. My sister and brother in law were also getting a condo in Maui at the same time and due to mix up they ended up just a little further down the road at Sugar Beach. We arrived on Friday during the Labor Day Weekend. Office was closed so there was a sign on door to fill out paperwork and that we wouldn’t get a parking hang tag until Tuesday since the office was going to be closed. Where my sister and brother in law were - they office was open during the entire weekend! Someone was there to let them know where good restaurants were, etc. Yes, the view is excellent if that is what you want. It is located close to a lot of great restaurants such as Coconuts (we at there 3-4 times) as well as food trucks - one which has the best shaved ice I have had on any of the Islands. We had a hard time keeping the condo cool. There is a timer on the main unit that is only good for 6 hours I believe. This would shut down during the night and the little air conditioner in the bedroom just didn’t feel cool. They do provide beach towels and snorkeling equipment that we did not use. Condo is clean. We are both over 60 and just couldn’t get comfortable in the bed or the furniture. No recliners except on lanai. No place to store anything in the bathroom or hooks to hand anything in bathroom if you wanted to hand a swimsuit to dry. But if you want the view and don’t plan on spending a lot of time in a condo this is probably the place for you. It is clean and a place to sleep.

Perfect sunsets right off our patio. Even better is the rooftop with pristine gas grills for cooking and tables to sit and enjoy.

Cleanliness, Location, Parking and Ocean view and beach access were our priorities. #608 was exactly what we were looking for. We spent lots of time on the lanai enjoying the whales and ocean views. The community BBQ area roof top was great. Plenty of BBQ's and seating. Dirk (the owner) and Nance (the on-site caretaker) were great to work with.

It’s been a week since we left this property and we miss it so much! We had a wonderful time staying here. The location was even better than we expected, the beach is amazing and the property came stocked with any gear we needed for activities. The food options across the street were awesome. We also loved the location and how quickly we could get around the island. The bathroom is small but we managed! The bed was incredibly comfortable and we had no issues with noise or adjusting to the change. My only note for improvement is regarding the lanai- there’s bird poop on the furniture and floor (understandable) but it was nothing that took away from our experience. Tip for next visitor: get your door code as soon as you can rather than waiting for arrival like me. Dirk was a great host! Melinda kindly dropped off detergent for us too. All in all, a five star stellar experience and we are itching to come back. We would love to stay here again! Mahalo!

We have stayed at the Royal Mauian for about 8 years now. We usually come with family and rent a two bedroom unit. This time it was just us so we rented the single bedroom. The condo was very nice and well appointed. Really nice to have ac the first day we got here to cool it down. After that we just let the breeze come in and it was perfect. Comfy bed, nice shower, and a kitchen equipped with anything you would need. We would highly recommend this unit. The owner (Dirk) was great to communicate with and made sure we had all of our Covid stuff in line before coming. Truly a hassle free experience.

Wow! The condo was absolutely wonderful! It was just as described, recently remodeled, fully stocked with any appliance you would want! The management of the condo association was very nice and helpful as well. And the view from the penthouse balcony was breathtaking! We spent a lot of time there just hanging out, watching turtles And whales and paddle boarders and sunsets! We can’t recommend this place highly enough and can’t wait to go back! Thank you Dirk!!

If you're staying in Kihei, it really is hard to beat this location on the ocean side of the main road. Incredible views and a short trip to pretty much anything you need in town, including a great beach on either side of the building.
The place was really nice and had everything we needed, with just a few things to note. We arrived to find a load of towels in the wash that had not been started. There was also a clearly used towel hanging in the bathroom. A few food/drink items were also in the kitchen/fridge/freezer that seemed like they should have been thrown away before we arrived. None of this was a huge deal, just a bit of an annoyance. The only other note is that the bedroom window faces east, not west towards the ocean, which wasn't extremely clear from the posting.
Despite these few small things, we still loved the condo and staying at the Royal Mauian!

It's unusual to travel during the covid19 pandemic time; but our experiences in Maui is not compromised thanks to this wonderful unit.
Leaving from California, we completed the required test within 72 hours of our departure date (also a fairly quick testing process with less than 15 minutes and results came out within 24 hours).
Dirk always responded quickly (within 2 hours), answering all questions from the time we started planning and providing all required files/process to go through during check-in.
The room is same as advertised with a central A/C system in the living room (which picture didn't include). Bed is comfortable. Kitchen fully stocked (cookware, kitchen supply all available). W/D available in Kitchen. Fully shaded lanai facing ocean and beach. You can find beach gear there.
Location wise, the building is between two nice beaches with great snorkeling locations on both sides. You can easily spot sea turtle right from Ianai (though a bit far). There're several major nearby plazas(dining, grocery, shopping) all within 3 minutes walk. Food trucks also around. If you have a rental car, you can easily find other groceries or shopping places with 10 minute drive. So a very convenient location with easy access to everything.
A couple things to note:
The living room A/C has no option to adjust temperature or speed (because the config/setting is just basic). The cooling device in bedroom is very noisy; we didn't use it.
The Ianai door needs upgrade as it's easily falling off track sometimes. Similarly, the door of the washing machine needs
attention.
The unit is not in the middle of the entire building; therefore the view isn't fully facing ocean but towards beach & road; so you should expect that. And it's could be noisy at night even at the top floor.

Property was exactly as advertised, clean, we'll furnished and a great location. Beaches were beautiful and we saw whales everyday from our lanai. Plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance.

This condo was as advertised. Stocked well with everything you would require for a memorable holiday. Well maintained and clean. The full A/C was a bonus however not needed often as there in a wonderful cross breeze most of the time. The bed was very comfotable and the linens/towels were good quality. Our favorite spot was the balcony - covered from direct sun all day. The location in Kihei cannot be beat. Direct ocean front, in between two fabulous swimable beaches. Excellent snorkeling right in front of property - saw several green turtles every day. Walking distance to grocery, shops, restaurants, coffee etc. Roof top deck was excellent for grilling and watching sunrise/sunset. Pool and grounds are well maintained, pride in ownership throughout the property. Parking was easy and accessible. Couple of tips we learned: grocery carts are available on the main level next to the elevator to transport your groceries to condo, a mini library on the second floor to trade in books/music, bathrooms in basment level have showers in case you have a late flight. Rooftop has a mini kitchen set up with full fridge. The condo fridge has a water dispenser/ice maker and the water is very good. No need for bottled water here.
Suggestions: two extra beach towels would be awesome
We loved Maui and hope to return one day.

This is an awesome unit and just as described. Great location within walking distance of great restaurants and shops. One of the best south Maui beaches right in front of the unit with good snorkeling as well. We saw turtles from the lanai almost everyday. We will be rebooking this unit next year!
