We have stayed at Maui sunset several times because we love the property and location. Best place for watching sunset right on the beach. The condo was clean and exactly as pictured! The bed is a memory foam mattress that I felt was very comfortable. Love having all the beach gear available, and everything you need in the kitchen to be able to cook all your meals at condo if you would like. We loved our stay!

We absolutely loved staying here! The condo is bright, happy, and fresh! We could not have been more comfortable and settled in so easily. I especially loved sitting on the lanai with my feet kicked up looking at the beautiful courtyard and the ocean waves. I just wish I could go back and stay permanently!

Maui Sunset is in a busy area, if you are looking for a quiet location at this property you may want to rent along beach front side. Our unit was close to main road.Our condo was beautifully decorated but needs some TLC in regards to maintenance and some items should be replaced because of wear and tear. Landscapers were working on lawns for a week and you couldn’t hang around pool because of machine noise and dirt blowing up from thatching machines. Good complex for family’s with kids if you are not concerned with surrounding road noise.

The unit looks great and clean. The view from the balcony is relaxing and enjoyable. Nevertheless, the TV set is outdated with few to many remote controls. The entry door bottom is rotten, covered with a metal plate. Each time the door gets used it leaves a trace of dirt along with bits and pieces of decayed wood on the floor. The bathroom looks good but is very narrow. Great Location for local dining and late evening events.

Easy access to the bus stop and we loved that, as a family, we didn't have to worry about crossing a street or traffic to hit the beach. Several good restaurants in walking distance and we became regulars at the local shave ice hut.

The property was clean and comfortable, had a lovely view, and the location is a great central base from which to explore the different corners of Maui.
Only very minor negatives would be, the air conditioner in the bedroom is quite loud, and the kitchen lacked a few necessities (the property manager is up front about this, but recommend taking a close look around to figure out what basics you will and won't need to stock for yourself).

The property was clean and comfortable, had a lovely view, and the location is a great central base from which to explore the different corners of Maui.

Maui Sunset is an older complex but is very well maintained. The courtyard picture does not do it justice; it is huge and meticulously maintained. Lovely pool area. Small fitness room met all our needs. Located very close to stores, restaurants and other activities.
The unit was immaculately clean with fabulous appliances. The two air conditioners and three superb ceiling fans kept us very comfortable. Quiet time hours were well respected. The few issues we encountered were quickly and effectively addressed by VIP property management who were a delight to deal with.

Not only were they prompt with responses and clear on arrival/departure directions BUT in the chaos and cancelled flights that came along with our xmas travel this year they made me cry happy tears! OUT OF ALL THE AIRLINES, RENTAL CAR AGENCIES AND HOTELS, VIP PROPERTY MANAGEMENT WAS THE ONLY BUSINESS TO LISTEN TO US, SYMPATHIZE WITH US AND GIVE US FREE NIGHTS WHEN OUR FLIGHTS WERE DELAYED!!! Only suggestion would be a larger kitchen trash can (had to take it out three times during two night stay) and also larger tv. While we didn’t spend much time watching it, was a bit of a strain to see from sofa.

The apartment was fully equipped on the kitchen. We cooked dinner, made coffee, and a fridge with water. 5 min walk to the beach - we saw a sea turtle. Easy access to major beaches, road to Hana & 15 min from Costco /Whole Foods. Comes with a DVD player. All units have the balcony - we truly did not want to leave. Thank you Muai Sunset.

Maui rentals are just expensive in general. Kihei is a great middle location to get to anywhere on the island. This property is used as a time share hub and has a very inviting vibe. A huge patch of green between the buildings with families BBQing, swimming in the pool or putting on the green. The apartment itself was good. Many toys and water equipment to borrow. Well maintained. Thanks for the stay.

We stayed several nights at this unit in the Maui Sunset complex in Kihei. We enjoyed evenings and mornings on the balcony with an ocean view, and the unit had plenty of space for us. Perfect location just a short drive away from all parts of the island, really couldn't ask for a better stay.

The complex is a beautiful and well maintained property with beautiful Sunsets right on its own beach. Kihei was a great laid back town with many restaurants, shops and beaches. The condo was very comfortable, had everything we needed while there and we enjoyed our breakfasts on the porch overlooking the property with views of the ocean. We had a great stay.

I was very satisfied with this property. It was very clean and, for me, a good location. I enjoyed the more laid back Kihei. I would consider this location if I return.
The owners might consider cleaning the living room carpet and replacing the rug. It is terribly wrinkled and a tripping hazard.

This space is even bigger than it seemed in the pictures with a beautiful view of the lawn/ocean. Being on the 5th floor really gives a nice sense of privacy. It was more than enough for the two of us, with plenty of extra space to fit additional family manners who swung by for a visit. Lovely decor. We are sad to be leaving!

Maui is amazing! This location is great- we were able to walk directly to the beach! The grounds are nicely kept, the complex is clean and quiet, and it was lovely to sit on the lanai for breakfast every morning! We will definitely rent this condo again!

The condo itself was nice. It had a better layout than some of the others we have seen. The place could use a bit of work though. That carpet lying randomly in the middle of the living room area on top of the original carpet, needs help. I assume it is there to protect the carpet underneath which seems like an odd idea. The carpet on top is all rolled up with kinks and bumps on the first two feet, making for an unusual looking tripping hazard.
The fan/light in the living room needs repairs. If it is turned on, parts are rubbing and making strange noises, which doesn't add anything positive to the atmosphere.
The bed is just okay. Maybe the memory foam needs replacing or something.
And finally, the price we paid seems pretty high in hindsight.
We loved our stay in Maui, but unit 505B could use some attention. Thanks. Rob and Melanie

This condo has beautiful landscaping which makes you feel like you’re at a resort with live music on Wednesdays.
Pros:
Everything you need in the condo, especially A/C. Beach chairs and umbrella.
Laundry in suite is very handy.
Nice pool and hot tub, can get a little busy.
Great lawn area for kids to run out their energy.
Excellent management company, very quick to respond.
Cons:
We didn’t swim in the beach, water was brown.
Beds are decent, we ended up putting the hide bed mattress on the floor as it was better than the bedroom one, kids didn’t complain about the bedroom one but it is quite firm for the average person.
You need a car to get anywhere from this location. We spent a fair bit of time at beaches up north so just drove daily but not sure we’d make this location home base next time. Nothing to do with the condo itself if you Love Kihei.
Check out big beach near Wailea as this was our favourite down this side of the island. The Shops at Wailea have a great show for the kids on Tuesday and Thursdays at 5:30. Paia Fish market is great for affordable seafood! Kihei Cafe is excellent for breakfast. Don’t let the Lines fool you as the structure of these restaurants are brilliant, they really know how to process a ton of people in an efficient manner! Check out the beach park in front of Kihei cafe for the kids.
Overall a beautiful place to stay if you don’t mind driving to the beach 😉
