This is our family's second Christmas on the Big Island, staying at Wai-Ula-ula and it just keeps getting better.
The condo was tastefully furnished, extremely clean and well-stocked and came with unblocked ocean views all throughout the wrap-around Lanai. It is one of 4 units in a duplex so you hardly hear the neighbors. If it's peace and quiet you are after (and not a bustling resort), this is it.
Christmas in Hawaii has always been a family tradition but this outstanding location just puts it over the top. My kids enjoyed the convenience / access to not one, but two resorts with pristine white sand beaches (Hapuna and Kauna'oa) where we spent many glorious days enjoying the sun and surf.
The Mauna Kea resort does a wonderful job making Christmas extra magical for the kids. They saw Santa on Christmas Eve riding a jet ski and enjoyed special Keiki activities everyday just for the holidays.
Donna as the host is amazing. She is responsive over emails and texts and is extremely thoughtful. We arrived in the morning and I had previously asked for an early check-in as we were traveling with 2 (tired) kids.
I got a text from her 30 mins after we landed saying the condo is ready for us. This was a good 5 hours prior to the official check-in time. God bless her.

The property was wonderful. Beautiful views, comfortable and relaxing spaces, well equipped kitchen, stunning sunsets. Clearly the unit was built with love and good taste. Unfortunately, maintenance was a problem for all 4 of us who stayed there.The garage door did not work so we had to open and close it manually or just leave it open (we are all in our 70s). We prepared a wonderful dinner specifically to make on the outside grill, but the grill was not working. The primary bedroom shower door leaked soaking either the bath mat or the floor. The second bedroom sink drained so slowly that it left a mess. There were some tiny ants in the kitchen upon our arrival that were present throughout our stay. While we would probably stay in this unit again because it really was lovely, we would want to be guaranteed that all these problems were taken care of before arrival. It seemed impossible to get anything fixed while we were there, although we asked several times. We all decided that leaving an honest review was what we should do, even though leaving reviews is not something any of us do very often.

Our family had a great time at this condo! The location is great and the pool at this community ( compared to others in the same resort) is much nicer! We didn’t buy the additional resort access this trip and were just fine. Would stay here again!

This condo is exactly as advertised. Beautiful open concept condo. Lanai opens up to the main living space and the view is fantastic. The two master bedrooms are very spacious and very comfortable. The first impression was WOW! and we knew we selected the right place to enjoy our Big Island vacation. The condo was very clean and very updated. The pictures don't do this condo justice. Donna was very easy to communicate with and answered any questions we had. Its in a gated beautiful community and felt very safe. The ladies enjoyed the pool and the hot tub and the guys enjoyed the Lanai and the grill. The surrounding property is well maintained and clean. Plenty of things to do in the area with beaches in every direction. We found malasada and shaved ice stands just down the road from the main resort entrance. We look forward to our next stay. We had a wonderful week in this property. The bedrooms are lovely and the common area is spacious. We were pleasantly surprised by the pool and hot tub right next to the unit. We opted for the resort pass but it is not necessary to enjoy the amazing nearby beaches

The location of this place is absolutely perfect! The access to the hotels (extra charge) is well worth it. Having this gorgeous home to come back to with the whole family for dinner and a spectacular view was priceless. This home is beautiful, luxurious, extremely comfortable, and perfectly priced. Donna was very communicative and responsive to all of my questions. The check in instructions were clear and easy. I would, and will, stay here again without hesitation. Thank you, Donna!!!

We absolutely loved this condo! It is super clean. It has all the kitchen necessities you could want. The view off of the deck is beautiful. The beds are so comfortable. The showers are hot. The laundry is in the unit. It’s perfect.

This condo is perfect. It spotless and well-maintained. The location is one of the best on the Big Island and it has membership to the Hapuna/Mauna Kea resort. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen and cleaning closet are well-stocked. Communication with the property manager is seamless. We’ll definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time in this well appointed and comfortable home up the hill from Mauna Kea. It is lovely. The home simply had everything we could possibly need so we felt enveloped in comfort, convenience, and ohana. The community infinity pool, hot tub, and baby pool are private and fresh .- just behind the building where this home spans the ocean view. One thing to consider is that it is a drive to the beach so you may want multiple cars if your vacation team are active with golf, beach, gyms, cooking, shopping etc as it is not convenient to walk. Access to Mauna Kea amenities was easy and fluid once down the hill - felt fully welcomed as if staying at the hotel which we cherish. Loved our 10 days together celebrating and relaxing in this lovely home. Great option for families if the hotel is not ideal given ages or size of party. Thank you for the sunsets!

We where so impressed with how well stocked this rental was! You don't lack for anything including, all paper product, soaps, detergents, bedding, towel, beach stuff, etc!! The view was spectacular from a large lanai!

We rented this unit for our family of four and it was lovely! Donna the property manager was super responsive and the unit was one of the nicest we’ve stayed in. Great ocean views, lovely lanai with BBQ and outdoor kitchen. Unit was the perfect size for our family. Only down side was the proximity to the beach. Not within walking distance, but the pool above the unit was incredible, as was having the use of the two resorts. The Westin is a short 5 minute drive from the unit and the amenities there (pool and private beach access) are amazing. Mauna Kea resort is also a short drive and a nice resort but we preferred the Westin. All in all an amazing time if you want to be a little farther out than the hustle and bustle of Kona. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!

Beautifully appointed home although it was not the inside that I spent my time looking at. The views were incredible! High quality items in the home. It's the little things that you appreciate, sharp knives, working appliances and pretty dishes. Overall a great vacation. Super close to the beach and the tennis courts!

This property was the perfect place for our family with two teens. Great location with beautiful view and all the amenities. The home is on the upper level with sliding doors that open to a deck with bbq and chaise lounges. It's so relaxing with lots of birds chirping throughout the day. The location of the house is also right by the pool and gym, which is very convenient. The management was also great and responsive, however we never had to contact them during our stay because everything was clear and organized. Picking up the passes for the Mauna Kea and Hapuna was also very easy. The Mauna Kea is amazing and we spent most of our time there outside from the house. A wonderful trip and would definitely rent this place again!! 5 stars all the way!

This property matches its description and really is a wonderful place to stay. Our group consisted of three adult couples. We pulled numbers from a hat to determine room selection, as one of the three rooms has twin beds (converting these to a king size bed is no longer optional) without an en suite bathroom (it has a full bathroom a few steps down the hall). Bedrooms are large (an understatement), the adjoining kitchen and living room (and two of the bedrooms) offer ocean views to the west (sunsets were beautiful). Most of our meals were home cooked; the kitchen is well supplied with cookware and utensils; the BBQ grill is gas-fired and works very well. Location-wise, this property has easy access to Hapuna Beach (purchase resort access, an option but well worth it as you will have use of the facilities including towels, lounge chairs, swimming pools) and convenient access to go across island, up north or down south. The property is quiet, there's no discernible road noise.
Lastly, the property manager, Donna, was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay. She is very friendly. Mahalo to her for enhancing our experience. This is a really great place to stay for comfort and tranquility. Enjoy!

We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation at this gorgeous location. The townhome was beautifully appointed with luxurious bedding and finishes, and well stocked with anything and everything you may need to make your stay comfortable. This is an ideal location, quiet and peaceful with beautiful ocean views. Amazing sunsets every evening! Close to Waimea and Waikoloa for groceries and shopping, yet set back far enough to feel private and peaceful. You cannot beat the access to Hapuna and Mauna Kea resorts with their beautiful pools and beaches. The local pool and hot tub was a favorite for quiet evenings. The rental manager, Donna, is very responsive and pleasant to work with. We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Great communication with management company. Condo is very well maintained and beautiful. Sunsets are perfect from the lanai. Community pool is steps away. Located 10 minutes from a Foodland, 5 minutes from Hapuna Westin and Mauna Kea Resort. Approximately 20 minutes from Waimea and 30 minutes from Hawi. Location is perfect.

This property is a great one to stay in while on the Big Island. The home is very spacious and perfect for a family of 4 to 6. The view of the ocean, including the sunsets, was amazing. There is a large sliding window leading to the lanai which can be fully opened which enables the warm breeze to flow through the house. I would definitely stay here again.

This condo is very nice, tastefully furnished with everything you may need. Just like the pictures if not better.
The outdoor lanai has a super large grill and mini kitchen and a mini fridge with ice maker. It is also facing west so that you see the sun setting on the ocean
The bedrooms and bathrooms are large with lots of storage space. The kitchen is lovely with top grade appliances
But the best thing is communication with Donna the manager. Very prompt and accurate
It is worth it to spend $700 and get access to the two resorts, which are 5 minute drive, with free valet parking. You would enjoy the hotel facilities (beach, pool , gym , spa , restaurants, bar, ). The Westin has a nicer beach, while the Mauna Kea has a lovely pool. We did not use the amenity center, which was few steps away. It has a small pool and nice outdoor area
There was a nice seafood restaurant nearby, and a fishmarket too, where they sell fresh poke!
I would highly recommend renting a car, you may need to book few month in advance
Also book your tours well in advance as the capacity still limited after COVID

We were very happy with the unit for our family of 5. We did a fair amount of cooking and the kitchen was very well stocked for our needs. Beds were great, rooms and closets were very spacious. We couldn't have asked for more. We had an awesome and adventurous stay on the Big Island. So many memories made and would definitely recommend this home for families.

The decor and furnishings are beautiful and the bed and linens were luxurious. The location of this home is extremely quiet, has spectacular ocean views and is perfect for accessing Hapuna and Mauna Kea Beaches. (The resort pass was great!) We loved our stay and were impressed with the views and good location of this well-appointed condo (very close to the amenity center and pool). Daily use of the Mauna Kea Hotel was also terrific. A couple of minor fixes came up, but Donna was very responsive and friendly. Overall, this is a great value and a special property!

This property is stunningly beautiful! As you enter the private gate to the property you are surrounded by beautiful landscaping. The condo is tastefully decorated and so very comfortable. The master bedroom is huge and has a stunning view of the sunrise right from the king sized bed. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a gourmet meal. The deck has a panoramic view of the ocean, golf course and vegetation. We enjoyed hearing the many birds in the morning and evening. In addition, the access to both beautiful resorts, Mauna Kea and the Westin Hapuna, was well worth the daily fee. The beaches and amenities at both resorts were fantastic.
We would definitely stay here again in a hearbeat!

The experience of renting and staying in this incredibly beautiful, well maintained home was first class from beginning to end. Donna is a wonderful host and provided great communication from the rental process to the check out. Everything was perfect - the beautiful decor, the large living space, the well stocked kitchen and linen closet….and the home was spotless- not a speck of dirt or dust. Highly recommend a stay at this condo. Interior was clean and beautiful. Beds were comfortable. Lots of towels. Beach chairs and floats in the garage were nice. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking necessities. Community infinity pool was nice and had a great view.
Access to the Westin and Mauna Kea was easy. Although we did not use the hotel facilities every day, the extra access charge was worth it. You can access Hapuna Beach via the public lot for a lot less money but that side of the beach is much more congested and personal belongings on the beach are not as safe. Public access to the Mauna Kea beach is very hard without hotel access and the beach there is beautiful and much calmer than Hapuna. It was also nice to have access to their pools and restaurants. The restaurants won't even serve you unless you are a guest.
While this is probably the prettiest part of the island with the best beaches, it is a little out of the way. The town of Kailua is a solid 40 minute drive. We cancelled all our Kailua dinner reservations since we didn't want to drive after long days in the sun. While there are a couple closer villages near he other nearby resorts, the restaurants there book up far in advance since there are not enough to accommodate all the guests at the nearby resorts so make reservations long before your arrival.

We had a wonderful time. Each bedroom and bathroom were spacious and updated. Kitchen had everything we needed. Great location, only 2 miles from both resorts. Donna was very responsive with all questions asked. We wanted to stay forever.
