Very centrally located to all parts of the island. The beach isn’t very usable but it makes for a pretty sunset and you can easily drive a few miles down the road to many beautiful snorkeling beaches. Condo was very clean and everything worked great.

Overall the condo was nice. Some maintenance issues though. Sliding patio door was broken and unuseable. Dishwasher wouldnt work properly so dishes had to be hand washed. Bed has a foam topper which is pretty awful. Its hot and you just sink into it. Unless you like soft beds then you'd love it. The property amenities were great. Pool hot tub grill and the beach on the bay nearby were awesome. Communication was pretty good. Except they never replied when i asked what kind of coffee maker so we had to do 2 grocery store runs after we saw it was only a regular drip coffee maker. No coffee is supplied! We left some and sugar as well but i have a feeling its just what other guests may leave thats available.

This place was honestly beautiful with an amazing view! It is just as describee. The only thing I would suggest is for the cleaning personal, they need to do a better job at cleaning. I'm a clean person so when I arrived I swept and there was so much dirt/sand, something minor I was able to resolve by doing it myself. Everything else was great and cannot complain.

My husband and I loved our stay at this apartment. It was next to the beach with a fantastic view. The furnishing was very modern and things like snorkel equipment and boogie boards were provided. We also appreciated the ease of checking in and out of the apartment. Overall highly recommend and would stay again!

Overall we have no complaints about our stay. The condo was very clean and well maintained. The views were also excellent. The condo had everything you could need/want to have a great stay. The only issue we had was that the balcony door in the living room is very hard to open and close. Otherwise everything was great! Thank you!

We couldn't have been happier with our decision to stay here. Kihei was a perfect "base of operations" for all the fun things we had planned. A few minutes to the south we had Maluaka and Makena beaches. Great snorkeling and we never had to search long for turtles. A short drive north to historic Lahaina and Kapalua Ziplines. Haleakala and the Road to Hana were not far away either. Self check-in was a breeze and the condo was clean upon arrival. The kitchen was up-to-date and well equipped, however, the addition of some grilling utencils for flipping burgers outside by the pool would have been nice. We really, really, really appreciated the use of the beach gear (umbrellas, chairs and boogie boards) so, thank you much for that! I wish the site let us share pics because the sunsets on our balcony were magnificent. The A/C was cold and the water was hot. The entire complex settled down nicely in the evening so we could relax and everyone we encountered there seemed very happy. Why wouldn't they be? It's Maui! Thanks for having us. We'd definitely recommend Kauhale Makai to others. Cheers!

The property is updated & modern and the grounds are very nice but they definitely need a new cleaner. This is probably one of the dirtiest vacation rentals I’ve ever stayed in. Upon arrival the base of the toilet was DISGUSTING id never seen something so dirty- while the property manager was kind and responsive and sent someone to clean it the next day, how this even happened in the first place is beyond me- you could smell how dirty it was. The shower curtain was also moldy and they replaced it with just another old dirty shower curtain. The sofa & throw pillows were stained and the rug in the living room looked like it had been used for years and years. I appreciate the responsiveness of the property manager but these cleaning issues need to be addressed. If I had another option I definitely would have left and stayed somewhere else.

The advertisement was accurate. Very nice location and good dining options nearby. The bathroom needed some updating and improvements. The feral roosters outside usually helped to make sure you didn't sleep too long in the mornings. Ocean can be seen from the balcony and beach is not far away.

Superb location...close for grabbing groceries, quick bites and any other needs.
Beaches out front are wonderful for long walks and quiet during the day. The evening sunsets are epic!
If you want to venture out to explore other beaches, areas, adventures, eateries you are mid way to everything. My husband and daughter participated in the Maui marathon and getting them to and from was easy.
The unit is well equipped with towels, beach chairs and a beach umbrella. The kitchen is also well equipped.
My only complaint is that there were some maintenance issues, and the cleanliness of the unit was sub par. As my 8 month old grandson was with us for a few days I was very conscious of swifting the floors daily and the mop was black!! The curtains are very dirty and there is evidence of some water damage in the bathroom. The sliders do not work properly, especially the one in the master bedroom. I could not open it on my own at all.
The property is very well maintained and the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful!

Need better instructions to the unit, when arriving in the dark of night, parking lot is very dark and parking permit instructions were a little vague. Beach is not a good swimming beach, ocean water brown and murky, great patio views, floors weren't clean, overall cleanliness was fair. Lack of safe walking area in front of the complex, no sidewalks and Kihei Rd is narrow.

After we spent days looking through similar condo's on Maui, this modern apartment caught our eye. In summary it was perfect. Located in Kihei means that the sunsets from the balcony and from the beach (2 mins walk from condo) were incredible! The condo has everything that could possibly need for a day out (beach chairs, towels, parasol, sand castle buckets and spades, body boards and even a golf putter to play on the putting green in the condo) or a day in (air conditioning, TV with Roku and Chromecast, coffee maker and board games to name a few things). The condo is in a complex but this allows you access to a pool, hot tub and BBQ grills. The complex is well cared for, clean and the management staff are responsive if needed. Plenty of parking and easy to get to a supermarket or local shops. We would love to come back to stay here.

This rental is updated, unlike other rental options in the area. The unit is stocked with all the amenities that you will need. The grounds are manicured well maintained. The balcony views with a cup of coffee was a great way to start the day.
I enjoyed the proximity to the shoreline. While convenient for a quick dip or beach walk, I didn’t find it the best place to swim/snorkel. That’s ok, because there are amazing places a couple minutes down the road (along with great food options).
A bit pricey for this rental, but some great value that you get with it.

This was the perfect place to stay in Kihei- the location was great/easy access to get around the island and could not get any close to access to the ocean. Everything was as expected and did not have a reason to reach out to the management (which is the ideal situation!) and I will definitely recommend this locations to anyone going to Kihei in the future.

The condo “looks” nice in photos, but in reality- it’s very dingy and old . The sliding doors do not work properly- so it’s a struggle to get in and out of balcony to enjoy view. The windows were dirty, as was the couch and moldy shower curtain . Not enough towels- I actually purchased some and left some behind for the next occupant . The beds were extremely uncomfortable- time for new
Mattresses! Also, not enough linens for extra pillows.
Communication with the property manager was satisfactory- but there is nothing they can really do about stained couches, door construction and limited towels! The kitchen refrigerator was clean (yay) and in general, the kitchen was fine- but I didn’t come to Hawaii to cook! LOL

Nice place to stay in Maui, Kihei is central to everything and the property grounds are nice, beach is nice to walk on, although we found the beaches in Kaanapali to be better. The condo was great, but more toilet paper should be supplied. Other than that, it was a great room with a great view!

This property is very much managed by a management group and I appreciate their follow-up and communication. The property itself is in a condo complex, which is OK but somewhat outdated. Below are a few of my thoughts:
-Totally fine property, especially if you don't plan to spend much time in your condo
-We were pretty bummed that they wouldn't allow us to check out 45 minutes after the check out time in order to do a morning excursion -- it would still give them 4+ hours to turn over the place. I think they would have allowed it if we had asked prior to paying, which we didn't appreciate.
-The condo group was very communicative and shared a lot of details, which was nice.
-When we arrived, the porch door was broken (it wouldn't close) and the wind was coming in the apartment. The condo association did get back to us right away and sent a repair man the next day but 24 hours out of our 48 hour visit, the porch door was broken and basically open. We were worried about leaving our stuff in the place and it was a bummer that wind was coming in the unit. I appreciate that they fixed it but just something to note.
-The towels were dirty and very outdated -- the towel for the shower floor was completely stained and didn't look like it had been washed. The bathroom itself is fairly outdated too but the kitchen and living room spaces are nice.
-The apartment was spacious and totally fine if you are just getting a place to leave your stuff and sleep.
-We found it annoying how much the association asked for 5 star reviews... provide 5 star amenities and we will rate you fairly but please stop asking guests for 5 star reviews.

The property was very nice for the cost. It was clean, nice setting, generally well stocked with what you need, plenty of space and over good neighbors. The one criticism I will give which may not be one of others is that the bed was very soft which I found made the sleeping experience not ideal for my spouse and I, and actually caused the bed to be hot because it firmed around your body not allowing air to flow as freely. But again, others may enjoy that. Overall, great place and great experience!

I took my parents to Maui for the first time, and this condo was exactly what we needed. It gave us a place to rest and enjoy the gorgeous view after a busy day of exploring the island of Maui. I would highly recommend this condo if you are needing a place to stay for a small group. The view was amazing!

We were just not able to enjoy a good nights sleep after a long day out.If you are just looking for a place to crash after a long day out and don't need a full fledged home, there are better options available.

The property was just as described on the website, with lovely ocean views and access to the beach (short walk). The kitchen was very clean and well stocked with basic provisions, etc.
The sheets/ bed linen provided was clean, but did feel a little damp/ musty. The mattress needs replacing - it would collapse towards the middle and was somewhat uncomfortable.
The location is excellent with access to local grocery stores and other amenities, not to mention being so close to so many beautiful beaches. The room was also well stocked with beach supplies - from sunscreen, umbrella, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc.
In all, we had a wonderful stay at Kihei and hope to visit again someday.

My husband and I stayed in Maui at this location for our honeymoon. The room was lovely and when we needed help from management, they responded timely and were very kind. The town shops are a 20-30 minute walk, and it was a perfect location being right at the beach; we were able to see the island and not worry about big waves hitting us when we walked in the water (much calmer than on the other sides of the island). Would definitely recommend!

This VRBO was great. Great location, easy parking, modern (as pictured), nice pool, elevators, CLEAN, supplied with many beach and kitchen items. HOWEVER, the bed sucks. The bed has definitely been well used as there are 2 dips (more like craters) on each side of the bed. Leaving a huge hump in the middle making it difficult to sleep next to my spouse and making it uncomfortable (we just got married in Maui/this was our honeymoon!). Also, just fyi laundry is not inside the unit. We wished we would have chosen a vrbo with laundry inside the unit specifically.

Great find on vrbo! We loved the updated and modern feel of this apartment. In a sea of listings filled with apartments with a beachy theme, this definitely stood out.
Great communication with property manager/owners. They really detailed out the steps before getting to the property and we appreciated the email reminders before our trip. They were quick to respond to any inquiries we had, but their guide and binder of things to know has everything you can possibly need!
As I mentioned in a sea of beachy themed listings, this unit stood out as light and airy. The decor and overall vibe was relaxing and clean. We enjoyed all the amenities this unit provided from a full kitchen to boogie boards and beach chairs, we definitely lucked out!
We had some minor issues with the unit but I think this is due to that they are a fairly new renovated unit. I read previous reviews about the closet / closet doors and again I think this is because they are fairly new. With a few more updating (bathroom doors / closet doors / closet / toilet rack) this unit is well on its way to being more than 5 stars!
Overall, it was a great location. You can walk to the beach, short drive to Kihei and Wailea area, easy parking, and great manangement!

Nice, simple property very close to the beach. Some supplies were missing i.e. sponge and additional toilet paper rolls but to be fair we did not contact management because we needed these supplies quick so we just bought them. Other than that the property was nice, had some room and a beautiful view of the beach you will not regret. It’s a place that I would recommend and as long as you adhere to the rules you should enjoy your stay. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

This was a great central location for our first trip to Maui. We stayed here for the first half of our trip which was in Maui before hopping over to Honolulu. It was a very relaxed setup and super close to the beach which was great.

We were really excited to be in Maui for the second time and after reading the reviews for this rental we thought this would be perfect, however it wasn’t the best. A few things could be upgraded and unit could be cleaned up a little better. To start the king bed was not comfortable at all, I literally sunk down on the side I was going to sleep on, the mattress is not even and not comfortable. We ended up sleeping on the pull out full bed from the couch all the days we stayed there. The shower liner seems to have mold, it’s pretty gross and should be replaced. The toilet is a very old toilet that has a super old handle that flushed with no pressure. The whole time we were there we smelled a sewage odor coming from the bathroom sink drain. There’s also like a moldy smell in the closet. The ocean view from both lanais was beautiful. This unit would have been perfect if only they had a comfortable bed and cleaned throughly.

Staying at this property was perfect for me. I prefer close to the action, but just far enough that it's relatively quiet in the evening. Location was 5 out of 5 for me. The spaciousness and accuracy of the photos and description was 100% I wanted somewhere where I could wake up and unwind in the evening whilst seeing the ocean with an unobstructed view. In addition, it's not an overly large complex so the public spaces such as the pool and hot tub never got too crowded. There is also a beach at the end of this complex, I was able to walk their for early morning walks and exercising as well as relax in the evening and catch the sunset. This unit being fully furnished helped make the experience rather enjoyable. I will definitely come back to Maui and this unit is a big part of the reason.

This was a wonderful little condo with an amazing view. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, the bed was comfy and everything was clean. We loved how modern this condo looked. The living room sliding glass door is really hard to open, but sitting on the deck is magical! Don't leave your towels/ clothes hanging on the railing during the afternoon winds. We had to go searching for a few items on the ground a few times. Overall, great stay!

Beautiful condo that comfortably slept 3. Gorgeous view from master and living room. Full kitchen with all necessities. Had all the comforts of home. Even furnished with boogie boards , beach chairs and sand toys fur kiddos, though we didn’t use any. Easy access and convenient location. Can’t wait to come back!
