We had a great time at this property. Everything you need for fun days at the beach are included (chairs, big beach towels, large beach umbrella ⛱️, coolers, boogie boards, noodles ) it was nice to have the use of those things. Pool & spa were very nice & clean. Condo is stocked with lots of kitchen equipment and stuff. Bed was very comfortable. Nice to have a washer & dryer as well. All in all we had an awesome time!!! I would highly recommend this property. Until next time … Aloha.

We had a great time at this property. Pool & spa were very nice & clean. Condo is stocked with lots of kitchen equipment and stuff. Bed was very comfortable. Nice to have a washer & dryer as well. All in all we had an awesome time!!! I cannot say enough about this condominium, the complex and the owners of the condo. The condominium is beautiful, clean, has a fantastic view of the ocean and is equipped with everything you need for a perfect Hawaiian vacation. I highly recommend staying here. The grounds of the complex are also stunningly gorgeous, the pool is right on the water and you can go out on the lava rocks and snorkel right in the ocean from there. The owners of the condo are very kind and accommodating. I will definitely be staying in this condo again.

The condominium is beautiful, clean, has a fantastic view of the ocean and is equipped with everything you need for a perfect Hawaiian vacation. I highly recommend staying here. Comfortable, fully stocked with all the items you need to go to the beach, nice layout with Comfortable bed, very nice shower, complete kitchen with all the items to make nice meals, nice patio facing the ocean and complex has very nice pool/hottub as well as several gas grills. Gated complex and seems very safe. Easy walk into town and conveniently located stores. Definitely would like to stay there again!

We enjoyed our stay at Kona Makai. The condo was clean and had everything for a relaxing start to the day with coffee and a nice patio. There was everything we needed to enjoy the beach and snorkeling. The Kona Makai complex was very quiet and had a terrific view of the sunset from the pool area. The television screen quit while we were there and Rod quickly evaluated the problem and had a new TV installed. We would definitely come back in the future.

My husband and I booked with Rod for 10 days. We found his communication to be excellent throughout our stay, even notifying us when he had to leave the island and making sure we had a good contact number should we need anything.
Upon our arrival we found the photos of the place to be exactly as described. The condo is on the second floor, with a lovely lanai that looks into a beautiful courtyard and directly out on to a partial ocean view. It was our favorite place in the morning when the birds were signing and flying around, and in the evening for dinner or drinks.
Everyone in the complex is respectful during quiet hours, which is wonderful because there is a lovely ocean breeze that blows through the condo and keeps it cool. We loved leaving the windows open for the ocean sounds, smells and breeze.
We found the house to be fully equipped with all the cooking utensils we needed, and in the evenings there are always people grilling and enjoying the sunset in the lovely courtyard on the water.
Although the pool area was beautiful and people were enjoying it, we did not get a chance to try it out. There is plenty of secured parking, check in/out was super easy.
This was a perfect location for us to enjoy the Ali’i Drive shops and restaurants, a 1 mile walk or short drive to the hustle and bustle. Also was a great middle spot for day trips along both sides of the island.
We wouldn’t change a thing about our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Very nice condo in a quiet and beautiful complex. Clean, comfortable and had everything I needed (and more). I especially enjoyed the lounge chairs by the ocean. I wish I could have stayed longer.
The location is great - walkable to Kona and easy access to main roads to other areas of the island. Rod was a great host - communication was easy and he allowed a late checkout which helped me out a lot. I would stay here again.

I loved Staying here. Gardens were lush, small bbq are overlooking the beach is beautiful. Condo itself is charming. Great big bed, cozy kitchen, awesome Lanai, Hawaiian vibe makes it easy to live Aloha. I really appreciate that the kitchen and bathroom had some supplies. Not something you get often but much appreciated. Location, location, location. If you want a walk along the coast you can go either North Or South, Great food, entertainment, shopping & highways are easy to access from here. Host was very easy to communicate with and very vocal in letting you know he wants you to enjoy yourself and that if you need anything to let him know. Only thing that upset me was the pool restrictions. Children under 14th are not allowed in hot tub. This was a necessity in booking my vacation and to not be able to share the experience with my son put me off. I’ve never been to a condo in Hawaii before that had this rule. Other than that it really was perfectly Wonderful 🌈🏝🐠🦎🌺

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in Kona. Theocarion was spot and and convenient and walking distance to the beach and eating places. Several items during our stay we saw dolphins up close by the pool area while enjoying the sunset. Rod was a great boat and kept in touch at all times.

Rod and Reena were amazing hosts. They answered several questions in a very timely manner prior to our arrival as well as during our stay.
The condo itself was perfect and the location cannot be beat! 1 mile from town with the commuter bikes for rent right outside the complex. They even had ice waiting in the freezer! Everything you needed to explore the island was at your fingertips. Boogie boards , snorkel equipment , beach chairs and a small cooler and beach bag.
They even had bandaides which came in helpful after the hike to Captain Cooks for amazing snorkelling.
The actual complex has beautiful gardens and a great pool and hot tub area with lounge chairs right on the ocean. We saw whales in the distance and a manta ray jump out of the water right in front of us!
There is a Farmers Market 1 Mile away in town and another one .5 miles away .
The even offered us a late check out to help us out on our last day.
I would definitely recommend these hosts and this suite and complex!

This property could use some upgrades in living room furniture and kitchen. There was a problem with the hot water to the washing machine. The ceiling fan in the living room didn't work well at all. The bath was nice and bed comfortable. Fast internet.

We enjoyed this locations easy access to everything. The condominiums are great, the location is literally right by the ocean. We enjoyed the sunsets every night we were here. We enjoyed meeting other guest and sharing info about sightseeing and adventure on the big island. You will have a home away from home.

We had a wonderful stay at the Kona Makai condo complex. Our rental was nicely furnished and had a comfortable King size bed. The complex was quiet but it was nice to congregate with neighbors each night for the sunset. It's about a mile to restaurants and shops and it was an easy walk. There are many beaches that are a short drive away as well as a couple that were walking distance. There was beach accessories available for our use (chairs, boogie boards, towels, snorkel gear, etc.) All of our sightseeing and adventure excursions were more or less an equal driving distance from the condo. Our hosts kept in touch with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was going okay. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

I must say, this place had every amenity anyone could want or need for a Vacation to Hawai’i. No need to purchase snorkel gear, boogie boards, cooler, chairs, tents, mats, beach towels, etc because this place has it all!!! The kitchen is also plentifully stocked so check the contents before going to Walmart or local grocery store. This property also has a pool & hot tub and the views from the garden lanai are AMAZING!

Lovely unit with all the comforts of home you could ever need. Each morning was such a treat to sit on the lanai with our breakfast and coffee listening to the birds and soaking in THE most lush gardens around. Beautiful pool and hot tub area complete with spacious cabana, grills, ping pong table and gym. Highly recommend and hope to stay in this unit again.

Rod and Renas condo at Kona Makai was the perfect place to get away and relax for two weeks! The location was perfect and the condo was clean, stocked and had everything you could need and more! The pool and location to the water was fantastic. My favorite part of each day was waking up was sitting on the beautiful lanai and having coffee. The communication from check in/out was timely and clear and Rod was always available to answer any questions. I would highly recommend staying at their condo and hope to again soon!

Very nice condo complex. Nice pool and gas grills down by the ocean front. We had a nice view of the ocean for breakfasts on the lanai! Lots of extra nice supplies to borrow like beach chairs, sand mats, beach towels, coolers snorkel and fins! It’s away from downtown so it’s quieter, but a nice 1 mile walk to town Easy road access to town or all the sights really nice!

Rod and Rena really knocked it out of the park with this VRBO. It literally has everything you could possibly need for a great stay on the ocean. From the two balconies with views of the ocean all the way to the beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkels, and cooler. This place made it so easy for us to celebrate our 1 year anniversary with no stress.
