Family had a wonderful stay at this property, which is a stone’s throw from a quiet and beautiful beach, as well as a short walk into downtown Hanalei for shopping and dining. It felt private even though it’s located on a residential street. The property is beautiful with flowering bushes, citrus trees and bromeliads; and the interior is comfortable and well appointed for a relaxing Kauai stay.

Our family of four enjoyed five glorious nights at this beautiful beach home steps off Hanalei beach. Amazingly convenient for popping into town, walking to beach, and for the amazing outdoor activities so close by.
We’ve stayed at many home rentals with our family and this is one we’ll likely return to.
Clean, had snorkels, fins, boogie boards, beach umbrellas and beach chairs.
Amazing and worth the price for our family for convenience over other places up the hills.

We especially loved the beach supplies! Note that the bedroom without AC does get hot, but we were able to manage by keeping cooler air circulating from other rooms. The home was well equiped with everything we needed for a 1 week stay with two littles under two. There is an outdoor shower, helpful to rinse off the sand from a fun day at the various beaches nearby. Beach chairs, umbrellas, and baby tents were available in the shed, which saved us from having to make a trip to the beach rentals shop. We made several meals at the home as we had the cooking tools to do so. Our host was responsive to any questions that arose and made our stay comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at this perfectly located cottage. Walk to town and the Beach is across the street. The cottage is well appointed and the neighborhood is quiet.
We loved the outdoor shower, hanging out on the front porch with our coffee in the morning and evening glass of wine. Beds are very comfortable. Cottage comes with beach chairs, umbrellas, surf and boogie boards. We can't wait to come back.

Daniel went above and beyond making sure we got into town (after a near-closure of the road in to Hanalei) and helping coordinate a gear pick-up at the house after we left. Just steps from the beach, with a large and well maintained yard, good beach gear, functioning gas barbecue and a nifty outdoor shower. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

The house had lots of space for three adults and a toddler. It is literally two minutes’ walk from the beach (with lots of beach stuff available), and there’s a big garden and a BBQ if you want to chill out “at home”. Hanalei itself is amazing.

The host was extremely helpful and flexible in a way that really helped us out. The place itself is not as polished as a typical condo, but that is also part of what is so fun about it. Amazing doesn't begin to describe this property. Air conditioning in the main bedroom and common area added to the comfort. Three beach cruiser bicycles included w/ the property were so much fun to cruise to town/beach/pier. We rode em everywhere for juice, beer, groceries, acai bowls, shopping and to swim at the Hanalei pier. Also, a surfboard, beach chairs, sand toys were available to use w/ the property. A new gas grill just added to the already small but abundant kitchen. No dishwasher only added to making my kids handwash their dishes which they needed to learn better skills anyway. The view in the backyard or out the back window is a big Kauai mountain w/ waterfalls. The front porch was perfect for early morning coffee. Short drive to all things Haena and Kalalua trailhead. Finally, and my favorite part of the property, the outdoor hot shower. My family used it several times a day and it was fantastic. Many great memories were made w/ my family. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!!

We rented bikes and loved biking to/from town and to the other beaches along Hanalei Bay. The house was fully stocked with beach gear, and the outdoor shower was amazing. I would highly recommend staying at this home! We hope to be able to come back to Hanalei one day :)

We loved our stay! The location was perfect—1 block from the beach and an easy 10 minute walk from all the shops and restaurants in Hanalei. The cottage itself was adorable and had everything we needed for our stay with lots of thoughtful touches like detergent and bath products. Bonus was the outdoor shower and large private backyard. Out stay was perfect. The house is walkable to the beach and to restaurants in Hanalei. If you're heading the Haena State Park, it's a short drive to the shuttle pick up. The house is totally outfitted - plenty of towels, stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, all you need! The front porch and yard in general is awesome. The landscaping makes everything feel private but you still have a great view of the mountains. We loved the spot and hope to come back!

Expectations were high going in, and it exceeded in every dimension. House was in great shape, perfect location to hit the beach, town or travel to the Na Pali coast. BBQ in the backyard under the stars.....Couldn't have asked for a better recharge. Host was very flexible with things and made the trip go without a hitch. Looking forward to the next visit.

We loved staying at the Surf Cottage! I was there for 3 weeks (my husband was with me for 2 of those weeks) and we had such a great time. The 2-bedroom cottage was cozy, charming, and peaceful. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook at home when we wanted to. One of the best features was the private outdoor shower that was surrounded by flowers and vegetation. We also loved the front porch for working out, practicing yoga, and hanging out. The location was magical - we had views of the beautiful green mountains with waterfalls and Hanalei Bay was just a block away. The property is surrounded by vegetation, which creates a lot of privacy. We were also a very short drive away from the town of Hanalei that includes restaurants, food trucks, and great places to shop. Highly recommend and we would definitely stay here again!
