Everything about this listing exceeded our expectations.
The location is perfect - 200 meters away is the cutest little food court that has a ton of food options and was perfect for breakfast and lunches. Centrally located and in a good part of town!
The unit was super nice, had everything you could ask for... we were shocked to find a shed with beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach umbrella and even underwater phone cases!
The host was really sweet.
If you are on the fence - just book already.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. It was very clean, beautifully decorated and thoughtfully supplied with everything you need.
The bed was very comfortable and the indoor and outdoor showers were amazing. Within walking distance to great food and beaches. Janine and Ross are great hosts that truly care about giving their guests a wonderful stay. Their communication is excellent and the cottage and gardens reflect their thoughtfulness.

Can't say enough about this property ! Few steps from the beach, enclosed entrance with outdoor shower, full shed of beach chairs,floats etc to use. The host is probably the nicest, most accommodating host I've ever had. The place was so cool with the way it is set up. Just a great little bungalow with everything you need. The host would get back almost immediately with any questions I had. The price for this place was exceptional. Wish we cold have stayed longer. When we return this is most definitely our first choice. Can't beat the location to all the shops and restaurants in the area. All walking distance. Food truck village was right down the road with about 15 food trucks ! Just a great place to stay. You won't be disappointed.

We loved staying at this spotless, comfortable, beautiful garden cottage! It is well-stocked with everything one could possibly want. It is close to everything. We could walk to a variety of restaurants, the beach, and even a gorgeous garden where there are several restaurants, food trucks, live music, free concerts, and more--the town's best kept secret. The cottage is very private with views of gardens from every window. We really enjoyed having beach chairs and boogie boards for the beach and the outdoor shower to wash off all the sand. We highly recommend this place!

Just left this fabulous cottage in Kihei! I’ve stayed in several places in the island including with friends, other rentals and some condos and this by far has been my favorite! Clean, comfortable, relaxing and a great location. A 10- 20 min walk can get you to a number of beaches, restaurants, a grocery store and more. I especially loved walking down to a close coffee shop for a morning brew. Janine was awesome to work with and I will definitely stay here again. Great for couples (my boyfriend stayed with me as he lives on island) so it felt like a little getaway for us both but when he worked and I had time to myself it was great to relax on the patio, walk to the beach, watch a show, read a book or nap. So also great for the solo traveler that likes some downtime amongst their travels.
Property also very well landscaped and the plants and greenery made you feel like you had your own private oasis. So if you’re coming to Maui I would 100% recommend this cottage!!! Maholo Janine for my wonderful stay!!

We had an amazing stay at this impeccably kept cottage. Everything you could think of needing is readily available. We so appreciated all the beach equipment. We felt like we were the best equipped people out there! The bed is comfortable. The AC is whisper quiet in the room. Blissful sleep after all the outdoor play! We loved the internet radio in the front room. Fantastic sound quality. The outdoor shower is not your standard beach hose down. It is a luxury shower with beautiful tile and hot water. With high walls and a fancy locked gate, you have complete privacy for garden shower heaven. Janine is so gracious and kind and super easy to communicate with. The island needs lots of love right now! If you aren’t already booked to visit, I wholeheartedly recommend you book a stay here. You won’t regret it!

This cottage in Kihei was absolutely beautiful, and had everything we could have possibly needed. Everything was very modern and clean. The bed was so comfortable, and the shower was wonderful. There was a cute porch that was isolated from the road and surrounded by plants. It's just a short walk to the ocean, shopping and restaurants (we liked Kihei Cafe for breakfast)!
If you're looking for a quiet place to stay in Maui, I highly recommend this cute cottage! 💜

This was the best stay we ever had all over the world. Incredible clean, Janine and her husband are so lovely. This entire condo is better equipped than our home. Snorkeling gear and body bords were available for free on top of everything. We would like to give 6 stars. Absolutely fair value in comparison to other places.

This property was truly perfect. The home is adorable, incredibly clean, comfortable, the perfect size, and the outdoor shower is a huge perk. The kitchen is well-stocked, there are every day essentials like hangers, hairdryer, shampoo/soap, and there is a huge shed full of beach gear, coolers, and even some toys for the beach!
Janine was so attentive and easily accessible via text if any questions or issues arise. Super host, greatly appreciated her friendliness and courtesy.
The house is also in a perfect location. There is a food truck park less than 2 blocks from the home with many options, coffee, music, and yard games.
Overall, incredible experience. We will definitely be back!

We just wrapped up our stay at the Kihei cottage and it was so lovely. The photos are completely accurate for what you can expect the place to look like, and the amenities like the beach gear, the covered parking and the laundry were great. Janine was very communicative leading up to our stay and during it. The location was also great being only a block away from food trucks and the beach and within walking distance of the wonderful Kihei Caffe! We would absolutely stay again and can’t say enough about how great our time here has been.

We were thrilled with our stay at this beautiful ohana house. Janine was a gracious, friendly host. There is such attention to detail it took us by surprise. Little extras, such as lighted outlets, light sensor in the bathroom, filtered drinking water spigot, hand etched flower design on the doors (which Janine told us she did herself). The headboard was unique and beautiful and we were told it came from Australia. The private patio afforded us more privacy than we expected. The beach equipment storage area was equipped with everything you could possibly need. The pots and pans and knives were in excellent condition. The bed was excellent and we slept very well. We hope to be back some day!

Janine’s cottage was truly the perfect place for my sister and I for our last minute trip to Maui. We came to relax, and were surprised to see the cottage available, and knew it was exactly what we were looking for. The cottage has literally everything one could need, including beach equipment and bug spray, & had a beautiful private courtyard. The beach was minutes away, and we enjoyed going to south Maui gardens that’s on the same street as the cottage. The bed was comfortable and Janine was a dream to communicate with. It was our first time visiting Maui and we feel extremely grateful and lucky to have stayed at Janine’s cottage! Not only was it so clean, it was decorated beautifully with a calming private garden and fountain just outside our door. We enjoyed sitting outside with a cup of coffee and pastries that’s easily found just a short walk down the street at Da Green Coffee or Lava Java. Actually most of our food and shopping was done just by taking a short walk around the neighborhood. They have highly recommended restaurants and food trucks, as well as lots of shopping and an amazing place to get a massage. Our favorite place to go every morning was the South Maui Gardens that has amazing coffee, food, and scenery, and it’s only a 5 minute walk from Janine’s cottage! One of the biggest perks was having the outdoor shower so we could rinse off after a day of snorkeling or walking around. Janine had the entire house stocked with anything you might need for a vacation, which made it so convenient for cooking at home. The outside shed made our vacation that much easier because she had beach chairs, an umbrella, coolers, snorkeling fins, and boogie boards so we didn’t have to rent or buy any of that. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, there were two efficient and strong a/c units in the cottage so we always felt great coming home after a day in the sun. Overall being able to stay at this cottage really enhanced our first visit to Maui and my fiancé and I will definitely stay here time and time again.

I booked based on the reviews I read and I must say that they were right. This cottage is everything it claims to be!
The location is great, close to the main road with plenty of food, shopping and entertainment very close by (within walking distance if you choose to) right on the waterfront. If you will be traveling to the other parts of the island you will be glad to know that you are only 3 minutes from the main highway.
The private garden is amazing, very well manicured and with a great tropical feeling that makes you want to be outside all the time. Although it looks to be close to the road do not worry, the vegetation, water fountains and decoration really make you feel like you are somewhere else, also the road is not heavily trafficked so we hardly heard any noise, even when seating outside. Great place for your morning coffee or just to have some quiet time before starting your day. BTW, the outside shower was a great touch, especially when coming back all sandy from the beach.
The interior was superb. Anything you would need for the kitchen and bathroom is provided. We cooked and grilled several and did not find ourselves wishing for anything. There is even a water filtration system, so we did not have to buy any bottled water at the store. The bed was really comfortable and the blackout curtains were a hit The large couch and brand new TV were indispensable during our down/recuperation time. The flooring, countertop surfaces, wall art were all top notch.
To be honest, as good as the pictures in the posting are, it really is better in person. We felt like we were in a resort but with all the amenities of home. Perfect combination!
We also had the chance to meet the owner and she was such a nice person and a great help answering our questions and giving us advice.
We will be going back to Maui and I will not stay in any place other than here.

If we could only stay for more days, we would. You don’t have to go anywhere else to be honest because it’s close to everything. Most of the things you need are walking distance; grocery, cafes, dessert places, restaurants, food trucks, markets, and best of all the BEACH! The cottage has everything you need, too. On top of that, it is beautiful inside and the landscape is amazing! We came late at night coming from the Big Island, but Janine and Ross made sure we got to find the place and check in smoothly. They even left some nice music playing when we got in. We thought that was sweet! The bed was more comfortable than a hotel’s. We could tell they really put a lot of thought and effort in this rental. We would definitely give this place all 5 stars!

I have to say we stayed here 10 years ago and it’s always a surprise after such a long time… mist places get dated… but wow! we were so positively impressed how well they took care of the cottage and how they updated so many things. Brand new TV with Netflix was amazing. Location is great- you can walk to the beach in just a few minutes- everything you need is very close. The cottage is super clean and made with a lot of love to detail. We stayed 3 weeks and didn‘t miss a thing- it‘s so perfectly equipped with everything. Beds are super comfortable too( and i am picky with that) The garden is just beautiful and you have full privacy. Janine is the most lovely host. If there is anything you need she is always availability. She also gives the best recommendations where to go and what to do. Place is cute and charming, but also functional. Private and separate - no worries at all about being an extension on the same lot. Beautiful foliage and decor inside and out. Supplies were just right - not cluttered, but just what you need, and quality stuff. Nothing broken. Everything works as expected! Internet was down the entirety of our stay there, but that's beyond Janine's control, and she went above and beyond to try and fix it for me. I have no complaints there. Just too bad it was a dead spot for Verizon too. But I didn't go to Hawaii for the internet service. The outdoor shower was my unexpected favorite! I enjoyed the experience over and over. They also have water gear in the shed in the side that was very useful and convenient. Location is perfect, central to the island, and steps away from the market area. Definitely check out Kihei Caffe - delicious! Honestly, I had a wonderful experience with the house and host. Well-priced too. Zero complaints! Thank you Janine! :)

What a find! It’s certainly easy to see why this property is so popular, and you’ll be very fortunate if you find an opening on the calendar. The cottage is squeaky clean, wonderfully constructed, and very nicely decorated. Janine and Ross are very helpful and easy to contact. It’s a bit of a walk to a swimmable beach, but that one is lovely Charley Young beach (and it also has a parking lot almost adjacent). It’s also an easy walk to several good places to eat—try Three’s Bar and Grill for great happy hour specials. A great stay in south Maui!

Janine's cottage was about as perfect as possible! The location is great, peaceful and quiet but a short walk to the beach and centrally located with easy access to airport and the national park among other places. The cottage was clean and very private, it really felt like your own space. All the amenities were extremely thoughtful and we were impressed by all the kitchen and beach equipment that Janine was generous enough to provide. I would stay here again without hesitation!!

The most darling little slice of Kihei heaven close to beaches, shopping, bars & restaurants. The cottage is absolutely adorable & in fact the photos do not do it justice. The bed was super comfortable and so were the pillows. There was not one thing that I went looking for in that cottage that the owner had not already thought of.
Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, small beach coolers, boogie boards & All of the beach gear was in great shape. You will also have your own stackable washer & dryer, blow dryer & even a hair straightener. Even lots of hangers which I never have enough of. Communication with owner was a breeze & even though their home is on the same property we never saw them. Such a wonderful place to stay in Kihei we really cannot wait to return.
PS My husbands only complaint was that after 5 days in Hawaii the bathroom scale seems to be way off!!

I can’t say enough great things about my host and the amazing home they have. The cottage was the perfect place for me and very comfortable and clean. Everything you need is available to you. It was like I lived in Maui and truly experienced what it was like to be apart of the community. The beach is within walking distance and the sunsets are the best I’ve ever experienced in my life and I’ve seen some beautiful sunsets. Locally the people are very kind and the food is good also. Hana trail is only 90 minutes away and Haleakala National Park is even closer. Please do yourself a favor and rent this wonderful place as soon as you can.

We just returned from our trip to Maui. I can honestly say I've never stayed anywhere on a trip that I felt more at home. This cottage is incredible. We didn't want to leave! Janine has thought of absolutely everything you could possbly need for your stay. We especially enjoyed the private lanai and garden area. It was perfect for sitting out in the evening and enjoying breakfast each morning. Ross even picked us fresh papaya's from their tree.
It's within walking distance to many area attractions, including beaches, that it's any easy walk but is also very easy to get around by car.
We are already planning for our next trip.

It had a wonderful patio with beautiful flowers and plants-very tranquil. We appreciated that it was a short walk to the ocean, restaurants, shops, and grocery store. The cottage is very private and quiet. Great selection of beach equipt for you to use! We usually stay in a large condo complex. Perks of the cottage: convenience of the car parked right outside, large private patio with a gas grill, W/D, large flat screen TV with sat TV, good ventilation/fans or A/C to keep you cool. Janine provided us with great hospitality and a very comfortable accommodation for our honeymoon. We enjoy the privacy of the location; from the private parking spot right in front of the cottage to the absents of hotel noises. Most of the amenities are there; towels and linens, beach towels and equipments, utensils and china, and cookwares. The only thing we had to get is laundry detergents for our stay. Although we didn't do any couch surfing there is a sony bluray, and flatscreen TV with hundreds of channels. The mattress we have to say is more comfortable than our own, and we usually are uncomfortable on hotel's mattresses. Located in Kihei, it is a great location for us as we found our self driving back and forth to Lahaina and Wailea often. We left knowing we made a great choice and enjoy our stay in Maui, thanks to Janine.

On our first visit to Maui, we could not have found a better place to stay then this little gem of a cottage. Not only is the place comfortable, it has everything you need. We used the beach accessories (chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear and cooler) just about every day and even found flashlights for our after dark walk along the beach. The kitchen is fully stocked and we took full advantage of both the washer/dryer and satellite TV.
The owners are very accommodating and welcoming. And, yet, they are not intrusive, at all. This truly is a little, private retreat within walking distance of the ocean front and many, many shops.
This is a place we'll definitely stay again on return trips to the island.

Maui is always a special place and this cottage is a perfect place that feels like home.
It’s a relaxing place in the central Kihei area. It is closed to everything including the beach and beauty.
I love this place because it’s a wonder cottage that offers lots of serenity and Aloha.
Mahalo for offering a great vacation place to stay on Maui.

My wife and I stayed here for 9 nights in April 2011. We both couldn't be happier with the place as it provided everything we needed, and the description/pics of the place on the Homeaway website were very accurate. No surprises.
The cottage was clean, well taken care of, and comfortable. It is close to alot of good beaches, grocery stores, markets, etc. Everything we needed for the beach was provided for us so that made things a lot easier.
We had great times sitting outside bbq'ing, watching the geckos run around, and of course, drinking pina coladas!
I Highly recommend this cotttage and would stay there again.

Stayed at Janine's cottage for the third time at beginning of April 2011. That alone should tell anybody all they need to know! We're the type of people that won't complain about bad service in a restaurant, we just don't ever go back.
We love this cottage, it feels like we're at "our Maui home" every time we go back. Janine and Ross do a great job in keeping it updated, so there's always something different. This time it was granite counter tops, just beautiful!
We like the location, with it's closeness to great South Maui beaches. Yet, it's still private enough to feel relaxed.
Both Janine and Ross are super friendly and a real joy to talk with. They really go out of there way to accommodate you.
Just can't say anything bad about this rental, we'll always look to stay here whenever Maui is our destination.

We absolutely loved this cottage! It was everything and then some! Janine and Ross have put a lot of thought into the comfort of their guests. We did not need a thing. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes, cookware, utensils, blender, toaster, etc., etc. and even a coffee bean grinder for the Kona coffee that we purchased! The bed was wonderful, we slept so good every night! The garden was beautiful...we enjoyed cooking steaks on the grill and listening to the fountain. Around the side is a shed filled with beach gear; umbrella, chairs, boogie boards, etc. It was nice having a washer and dryer too. The location is perfect! We were within a block of the beach and many times we walked there to catch the sunset. We were also very close to shopping and restaurants. On our first night, Ross was helpful in recommending the Five Palms Restaurant, which is located further down on the beach. Janine also provided us with discount grocery cards, a book of the best restaurants and a map of the island. These two were so very helpful and accommodating, but respected our privacy as well. The cottage is exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. We really felt at home and can't wait to come back. This was my first time to the islands - and I fell in love with Maui!
