The house is very nice. It has everything you'd need. We did a lot of cooking at the house. The kitchen was well appointed. However there was not a dishwasher. The two bedrooms are very small. They are fine for sleeping but very cramped. There were just two of us so it worked out fine. It would be cramped if 4 adults tried to share the house. The bathroom was on the smaller side. Not much room on the vanity. The shower was roomy and had good water pressure. The property was very well maintained and right across from the beach. Very pretty view. Beautiful big porch to sit on. I wish the outside chairs were more comfortable. One downside of the property is the house next door. There were two big dogs that barked a lot. Fortunately they were brought in at at night time so that wasn't a problem. But they started barking early. We were gone most of the day sightseeing so it wasn't too bad. If you were to spend a lot of time at the house it would get annoying to hear the dogs barking. There is not A/C. Just fans and open windows (which contribute to noise).

We had a wonderful stay. Across the street from the ocean, listing to the waves at night was perfect. We spent most of our time on the lanai. Such a wonderful place to relax.

The beach park across the street was lively, but quieted down before closing. The local people were warm and friendly, with lots of families including grandparents and little kids. The water was clear, and calm within the protection of the coves.

Exactly as advertised. Perfect location for visiting the Hilo area with Leleiwi and Richardson Parks across the street. Close enough to downtown to pop in for meals yet far enough out to avoid the congestion.

If you're looking to get away from the touristy side of the island, this is the place. Our family of 4 had a very relaxing 5 days in Hilo before we headed to Kona. The location was great because it was close enough to drive to downtown, but far enough to get away from the activities. The beach parks were all within walking distance or drive if you wanted to go further. The house itself was extremely clean and comfortable. We spent quite a bit of time on the deck while our daughters played in the large backyard. A couple of issues: 1. Their neighbor had their dogs out on the first night and were barking until their owner came home at midnight. 2. On the second night, one of the smoke detectors went off at 4 AM. However, Thom was very helpful and replaced the battery in it when we called him later in the morning. Overall, we had a wonderful time and recommend this home.

Awesome view of the beach from the living room and bedroom in doors and the Lanai made the experience unforgettable. Watching my 2yr old son enjoy running on grass plain that drapes to the beach front was a memory I’ll never forget. I grew up in this area and it felt like a new outlook for me almost like I was on a vacation somewhere else where I feel secure and comfy. I don’t want to leave out the smell of beach bbq reminding you that you’re in Hawaii where the locals enjoy life. Our host was very responsive!

My 2 teenage kids and I traveled in to visit Volcano National Park and explore the big island. Thom was so helpful, offering great recommendations on places to visit at the park and around Hilo. Communication was fantastic, even offering to mail my glasses back to me when he found that I left them at the house. Thank you Thom! House is across from Richardson Beach Park which is awesome. Very clean with all the basics covered. It's Hilo so it rains a lot so lack of air con is not really a problem at least this time of year. Your 2 bedrooms are like guest bedrooms as the owner seems to lock away the master bedroom for themselves...if I were them, I'd rent that out and maybe charge a bit more and lock off one of the guest bedrooms if they want. All in all, very comfortable and nice. You'll enjoy it.

The property was clean and well equipped and the location could not have been better, directly across the street from the shore. The property manager was extremely attentive and professional. I didn’t notice in the listing that there was no A/C but the ocean breezes made it very comfortable at night. We would definitely stay here again. Mahalo!

We are so happy we chose this property for our 2 week vacation on the Big Island! It had everything we needed: I love when owners stock their houses with usable items! The views from the huge front porch are fabulous. The bed was very comfortable and the sound of the frogs at night was soothing. The shower is huge and plenty of space for all your toiletries. And Thom was very helpful in suggesting places to see and restaurants to eat at. Very quick with responses too! We loved it there and hated to leave! Thank you! We hope to be back again someday!!!

We spent three nights at this house in Hilo. It is a wonderful location right. It is right across the street from the ocean and a beach park. We walked down to the water for snorkeling and swimming. It is a relaxed and enjoyable place. The host Thom is wonderful; we were in contact with him and he made sure we were welcome and had everything we needed. Thanks for such a great visit!

We loved this house with the huge lanai. The views to the ocean were incredible, and right across the street from the beach park! The house was very clean and great proximity to Hilo and surrounding areas.
