The property was exactly as listed. Lots of pros - it was very clean, a stocked kitchen with anything you would need to cook or pack a lunch for the beach, large living room, comfy beds and a nice bathroom with extras like cotton balls and q-tips. There was even welcome gifts. I was nervous about the reviews of the barking dog next door, but it wasn't an issue for us. Overall, a central location for a stay in Hilo. I would suggest you stop Hawaiian Style Cafe and Cupcakes, Boom! (both within walking distance). We also ate at Cafe Pesto in downtown Hilo which was excellent. Thanks for a great stay!

Great place for a stay. Lots of thoughtful touches that made visiting the sights in the area convenient, like providing umbrellas, labeling light switches, a cooler to use. Location was convenient, but was a little noisy the weekend we were there.

Our daughter and her family loved the house. Nice size, great yard, easy parking. We did Christmas dinner there, plenty of room. Location is great near by Hilo and Puna.

The bedroom arrangement was nice with two on one side of the bathroom and one on the other. The living area was large with a big comfy couch. The bed we were in was too firm for our liking so the couch was a good alternative for my partner to sleep on. The shower has a rainfall shower head and modern drainage and tile work. The overall decor was very tasteful. The only negative was car noise, an occasional plane overhead, close neighbor with large barking dogs (but the neighbors control quickly). We didn’t see a sign behind the kitchen door about a tenant below us and were shocked the first time we saw someone so perhaps this should be mentioned in the property description. One of the friends used a wheelchair and could get around the house but he did have to climb three steps to get into it. Still, it worked out nicely for us.

We visit family on the Big Island often and decided to find a place in Hilo. This was a great property, with every detail taken care of for the guest. Close to all things Hilo. When we are back we will try and book this property again.

The location was great for us with access to many groceries and local food shops. Our stay was definitely too short, and if we could have stayed longer, I would not have tired of this place. Yes the frogs are noisy at night and the dogs do bark (they sound very close and big!!) but everything calmed down as we wandered off to sleep. I did not mind the rooster in the morning because it reminded me of my old neighborhood in LA. So if anyone is a light sleeper beware!! I did notice that the host left us each had a pair of earplugs with the shampoo. I did not need them. The decent from the street to the house on the driveway is quite steep and the first few times I could hear the bottom of the car scrape as we descended down and we ascended up the driveway. After that we figured out how to avoid that so beware if you are driving a low to the ground vehicle. You can avoid that altogether if you park on the street. I would definitely would rent this place again. This was my first time in Hilo and I hope to return soon.

The house is perfect. Very cute. It has a very steep driveway down to the house so we almost drove past it the first time. It is located in a downtown so it's close to everything. There wasn't ripe fruit in the trees, my husband was sad about that. The frogs were so loud we didn't get any sleep the first night. The neighbor German shepherd dogs barked until midnight. We bought earplugs and you could still hear the frogs, they are that loud. They left a number to call the neighbors about the dogs. I did text her the second night when we couldn't sleep and the dogs were quiet after that. So not a lot the homeowner can do, I don't hold that against them. Just a hard situation.

Check in was straightforward. Host was very responsive to questions. Location is excellent, close to the airport, downtown, restaurants within walking distance. Easy drive to Volcanoes National Park and black sand beach. I was appreciative of the plentiful towels, beach mats, laundry machine, well stocked kitchen. Thanks!

This home is absolutely charming and cozy (not small kine cozy). The location is perfect for going in any direction and finding adventure. There were only two issues that we came across. It took more time than usual to start the smart oven and a couple of neighbors believe its pau Hana every day. We did find we kept ourselves busy and the result was utter exhaustion by the end of the day. The coqui frogs had the same effect but the random and rhythmic timing of the calls was tolerable and we all went right to sleep. The experience was terrific and this house was more than we could have expected

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The host had coffee and cookies for us when we arrived. The host also provided a lot of information about the surrounding area. The kitchen had a lot of pans for cooking and that was helpful. The actual location was near the downtown area, restaurants and grocery stores. However, the neighbors were loud late at night.

Enjoyed our stay here. It was the perfect spot to go north towards Waipio Valley or to Volcano National Park or just hang around Hilo. It is in a neighborhood and need windows open for air (which was refreshing) but if your not used to night sounds you might need some ear plugs. Loved the welcome gift of local flavors. Overall great place to stay.

Pleasant, comfortable home, nicely set up for guests. It is in the city, so a bit noisy: barking dogs, one night the neighbors had a party, roosters in the morning, and coquis at night. Light sleepers should pack earplugs. I was visiting friends in Hilo, so the location was convenient. We also used it as a base to explore Volcanos Park and the coastline to the south. We enjoyed our stay here.

I nice tiny house in Hilo with all comfort you need for a stay. We used it as a base to discover the island and were fully satisfied with all what we found: a charming interior, a well equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer and even snorkeling equipment. We enjoyed each minute of our stay and can really recommend it to other guests.
