We stayed in late October of 2023. I know this property from living on Oahu. I was super excited to get to stay here for a staycation away from my condo in Waikiki with my family who was visiting from the mainland.
-Celma gave us prompt communication when I text and called.
-The house is an older beach house with older beach house character. Which is exactly what I expected and enjoyed. House is beautiful and in a beautiful beach location on the reef with swimming areas to the left and right of the beach. For swimming we preferred to drive to the near by public beaches.
- Quiet location away from tourist beaches. We could hear the ocean waves while in the house. Some roosters and chickens ran the property around island style.
In October we could see the sunset on the ocean when we walked to the end of the yard and also from the beach. We enjoyed waking up early to see the moonset.
- October is the hottest most humid month on Oahu. AC and fans were very useful during this time but not always needed since ocean breeze flows.
- house is stocked with many fans, washer/dryer, dishwasher and all the cooking/grilling necessities. Towels, sheets, beach towels and plenty of seating.
No hidden charges or issues. We were promptly credited our deposit after stay and will definitely rent again.

Rented this house for a family reunion ahead of a family wedding. When the first of our party arrived it was later in the evening and exhausted from travel we didn't realize the house barely had sufficient power. Lights were flickering and we quickly had no hot water supply just from washing hands and rinsing dishes. The next morning we realized the appliances (stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, W/D) would turn on but none worked. No answer to the office line as it was the weekend, and didn't receive a text response to the emergency number for 4 hours (8am-12pm). Turns out, the cleaning lady also had issues with the dryer but this was not conveyed to us. The contact came by later that day and informed us there was an issue, but an electrician couldn't be there until the following morning at 8am. So from Saturday check in until Monday 9am we were without sufficient power to the house. That meant cold showers, no ability to cook or heat anything up, flickering lights. Someone from the company joked it was 'like we were camping'. At the price per night, that is unacceptable. We spent most of our first few days not at the house given a lack of electricity. We were informed there were no other available properties to switch to if the issue could not be resolved. It was remedied within 30 mins of being out at the property though we discovered it and informed them. We never were given a reason; the group concensus was they forgot to disable the power limiter to the house.

We liked the place and the location, but this place didn’t provide is with soap to wash our hands or for the shower. That’s so small a thing, but it was so disappointing to have to go out to buy that. There was lots of hand sanitizer around though. The other thing is the place had a charcoal grill, but it’s not worth spending over $20 for the charcoal and lighter fluid. We did like that the kitchen had everything we needed to do some simple meals. It was very nice having 3 bathrooms and 4 twin bed too. The patio had a nice large table for our evening dinners and watching the sunset. But at first we were hesitant in eating our dinner outside because there were several cats roaming around on the patio, but with a water bottle and some water we were able to enjoy our meal without the cats around. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here.

We had an absolutely amazing time staying at this vacation home. The view is to die for. The house had plenty of space for all of our family and was conveniently located near most north shore attractions. The backyard was perfect for hosting a small gathering of family and friends. Only downside was the weak air conditioning and/or lack of curtains/blinds. My husband and I stayed in the master and had the best views of any bedroom. However, the sun beats down on those windows and the AC did not have enough power to cool the room. It wasn’t until about 8 or 9 pm until we could stand being in that room. The view is spectacular so I get why you wouldn’t want to obstruct the view, but simple curtains that can be drawn while you are out during the day might help. However, all that being said, I would do it all over again for that location.

This is the second year we rented this house (actually there are two almost identical homes and we have now rented both). Location, location, location. The house is well equipped, nicely furnished, the master bedroom and bath are fabulous and the deck and front lawn are jut plain wonderful. I spent nearly every morning reading and having my morning tea on the decks enjoying the amazing ocean view. And the beach is right there - this is a true beach/ocean front home. Only downside is that you need to walk down the beach a bit for snorkeling/swimming except at low tide with virtually no surge. Team Real Estate has been great to work with and are very responsive. Location is great about midway on the North Shore with reasonable drives to all the major beaches, Haleiwa Town, Kahuku food trucks and only about 45-60 minutes from HNL. While by no means cheap, this home is a great value and hard to beat!

I think it suited our needs to a tee. We are 7 adults: my brother and his wife, my three sisters, me and my wife. Since it is my 80th birthday this year, I got to choose where we went. The trip overall was great and your property contributed to the overall success.
By the way, the air conditioner in the downstairs bedroom with king-sized bed does work.

The view was amazing. We saw whales from the deck each night. The yard is big enough to play games. The charcoal barbecue was great to have. We used it a few evenings and enjoyed dinner around the outdoor table. We used the kitchen to prepare side dishes and it had everything we needed. There were 6 adults staying and the house was large enough to accommodate all of us. The house was just as described and had everything we needed.
The house is nicely located, close to many food trucks and fruit stands to the north. Just to the south there are beautiful beaches, Ted’s Bakery, and other places to eat, shop and rent ocean equipment, and charter rentals in the cute town of Haleiwa.
The check in instructions were easy and there was plenty of parking for our 3 rental vehicles. The only downside, if there is such a thing, considering how amazing this property is, is the rocky beach. However, we did walk the beach most every morning and we enjoyed the most amazing sunsets every evening. This house and location are spectacular!

Excellent space. Lots of room for two families. We have stayed on the North shore before and found this location ideal to many beaches. The water is only accessible by a wooden staircase and the beach requires shoes as the area is a coral bed, but a quick walk led to a sandy area. Overall enjoyed the stay, the lovely lanai, and the sunsets! Check in was easy and not issues were encountered during our stay.

The beautiful beachfront location is what attracted us to this house and we weren’t disappointed. But the cleanliness upon arrival left a lot to be desired, there was a shortage of towels (quickly remedied) and for a house supposed to accommodate 8 there was insufficient seating (lounge or eating), and the crockery was a real mishmash. Cracked floors tiles in the kitchen and a bathroom, slippery wooden decking, poor quality cooking utensils, the main TV was on its last legs (spots everywhere) do I need to go on. So we felt quite let down by the premises themselves and frankly could not recommend it to anyone unless the owners spend some maintenance $s on the property and get it up to a decent standard.

We shared the house for a week with another family. It was a good size for our group of 8. We loved the north shore and being able to easily access the east and west coasts. It's a short drive to groceries, a fruit stand and the kahuku market. The beach out front was great for the kids to explore when the water was calmer and there are several other beaches nearby that are safe for swimming when the waves are higher. Overall it was a great place!

Our family loved this property and the ocean views were spectacular. Our friends rented the identical unit next door and we highly recommend the property. We enjoyed listening to the ocean waves and relaxing on the Lanai with our family and friends. We even had a whale sighting. The only downside to this property was living room furniture was not comfortable but we spent most of our time outdoors so it wasn’t a big issue. We would stay here again.

The property was very clean and as described. The upstairs loft worked great as a 4th bedroom/sleeping area. The beach area was very quiet and the tidal pools were great for the kids. As others noted the kitchen equipment needs to be upgraded such as sharper kitchen knives and pans with matching covers. We noticed that some of the outdoor furniture shown in the picture was in use by the other rental house next door therefore not available to us.

First of all let me say that the view and the location was fabulous. Very close to sites and beaches. The house was nice but needs some updates to make it special. The living room furniture was very uncomfortable to sit at. The fans, air conditioners in the bedrooms, and appliances in the kitchen including pots and pans could use some updating they don’t work as well as they used to. There are cracked tiles in the bathroom and kitchen that makes the house look dated. The house could also use a marker outside the gate to identify where the houses is, very hard to locate in the dark. A bug zapper on the deck would be helpful due to the pesty flies and mosquitos we encountered. Two days before we checked out the gardeners came they did a good job but they blew a pile of clippings into our backyard and left before picking them up. We had a wonderful vacation but adding these updates would make this a more comfortable place to stay. Thank you.

Our family had reserved this property during the height of COVID and ended up having to cancel. The team at Team Real Estate took great care of us and was very helpful in getting me a credit for future use. When we were able to use it (August 2022), we were very happy with the property. I had been concerned that there would be noise from the adjacent properties, but there were no issues at all! We enjoyed watching the chickens and cat running around the yards, along with the amazing ocean views!The house was very clean, and looked just like the pictures online. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was amazing. The outdoor shower was great for cooling down after laying in the sun. Only two suggestions: please consider getting window coverings of some sort for the living room and upstairs bedroom. Once it's dark you are in a fishbowl. There were people out on the beach with flashlights one night and it was a little weird knowing that they could could see right into the bedroom. You should definitely get the AC running BEFORE people check in. It was 88 degrees the day we checked in and the house was sweltering. Four little window AC units took about 18 hours to get the house comfortable, and the loft area will always be extra warm, as the cool air leaks out the louvered windows. The downstairs bedrooms and the master upstairs would get cool as long as the doors were kept closed. We figured out quickly to keep the upstairs room door closed and it was comfortable.All in all it was a wonderful house and I would stay there again!

We had a wonderful week. The house had most we needed, except a can opener. It would have been nice if the water and ice maker we’re working on the fridge door. Pots, pans, and utensils could be replaced, as they have seen better days. The shaded deck with the ocean view is where we hang out whenever we were at the house.

You can’t beat the views from this house. I could have spent my whole time in Hawaii on the porch. House is nice and well appointed. I will say the window unit AC struggled to keep the master cool if you had it off all day. House is close to tons of beach areas though the area just in front is a bit rocky to get in the water. However high tide creates a nice tide pool in the afternoon. For sure will book again if I make it back to Hawaii

Overall, our stay was good!The house views from the backyard were beautiful! We got to see the sunset every night! And hearing the ocean at night was absolutely wonderful!The house was a bit tricky to find and we almost passed it driving a few times but the location was great, out of the city and busy areas. The house states it sleeps 8 and there was 5 of us total and we barely had enough silverware/cups/plates for one meal. We had to continuously wash dishes multiple times a day. The first night we tried to use the oven and it didn't work. I sent the property management a message and normally I hear right back from them but this time I didn't hear back until 2 days later after I sent a couple of messages. They were very apologetic but we still weren't able to use the oven our whole stay. The stove worked but not the oven. They did send a repairman out but it didn't get fixed during our stay which was a little inconvenient.The upstairs loft blinds were missing so it was very very bright the minute the sun came up which was a bit annoying trying to sleep in on vacation!There were lots of roaches crawling outside on the ground at night. Kinda creepy! But we never found any in the house. Other than that we made it all work and had a great time! We will definitely be back. Northshore is where its at!

8 people. Elderly parents, four adults, Two kids 16 &10 had plenty of space for sleeping, eating and lounging. The house had 3 full bathrooms, three bedrooms and a sleeping loft with two twin beds which was a perfect space for kids. The kitchen area was spacious and accommodating we used the fridge and stove top and all worked well. The outdoor space was our favorite. The table and chairs and built in bench was our favorite morning coffee and evening place to chat and hang out. The upstairs shower had amazing water pressure. My other family members said the downstairs shower had weak water pressure. The two downstairs bedrooms (1 king, 2 twins) share the bathroom. There are two bathrooms upstairs.
The individual a/c’s work well but not quickly. When we arrived it was very warm in the house, uncomfortably so. The upstairs space is by far the warmest space and it took a full 12-16 hrs to cook it to a comfortable temp. Four of us was upstairs. You can open the slider upstairs but defeats the a/c problem. The fans in the primary helped. We do wish the bed in the primary was higher off the ground and larger. The room can easily accommodate a king. The living room furniture was basic outdoor furniture and not all that comfortable and our chosen place to sit was outside until the bugs came. The house does have multiple bud fans and small portable fans which helps move around the air in the house where there is no a/c to help circulate air when your gone and the house is locked up. Including closing and locking windows. The entrance to the house is very hidden and we almost missed it. It’s narrow and between to chain link gate openings. The driveway is narrow but leads to the four properties managed by the same host. You do get two parking spaces. The stairs leading down to the beach were in good condition. The beach is very rocky and a bit on a slant and was hard for my elderly parents to walk on. We did not go down to the beach in front of the house but a couple times in one week. Kids did enjoy searching tide pools. The view was amazing- the sunset is just left of the house and beautiful! The trees were plentiful and provided shade and were so pretty to look at. The houses are close together but we were all gone at different times and didn’t seem to cross paths much or hear each other. The outdoor shower was the most FAV amenity on the property. It was used by all the men to shower and as well to rinse feet off from sand. Limited beach toys.

Great spot with waterfront access. Although the beach is not really swim friendly it’s a short distance in either direction to find great beaches.
Make sure to chase the roosters out of the tree in the back of the property just before sunset or you will have a very early wake up call. I would wait to get groceries until after you arrive as there were plenty of essentials left behind by previous guests. Will return for sure!!!

This is our 3rd time staying and as always was so great! We absolutely love the location and amenities. Usually the management is quick to respond and easy to get ahold of. This time they were a bit slow. It was nothing urgent and I never tried the "emergency" line but would have appreciated more of a prompt response. Also found some of the furniture in a bit of disrepair and would be nicer if it was replaced. There also should be dishes for 12 and at most there is enough for 8. I am sure it is due to the management not knowing but this should be attended to on a regular basis. The rest we have no issues with, clean, spectacular location. The only negative is the still waiting on an email back. Mahalo!

Visited Hawaii for the first time to visit our son that is stationed in the military. The weather was nice although its their winter time. The ocean view was everything along with the sunset. The home was very roomy and enough bedding for everyone. The AC units keep the home very cool along with the breeze from the deck windows open. We loved every moment of the stay.

The pictures of this property just can't do the view justice. Our family stayed here for 10 nights and we woke up every single morning in complete awe of the view, the children would immediately go feed the chickens and then take an early morning swim. The sounds of the waves crashing was amazing to sleep to. We made so many life-long memories. Just down the stairs about three houses down is a great little protected area the little ones could swim. We loved this corner of Oahu .. while it's a bit of a drive, it was extremely peaceful on an otherwise very busy island.

The place was perfect for our group and we would rent it again! But a couple things to note although they wouldn't prevent me from renting again.. but you should know.. 1) it's a big step in and out of the upstairs master bath/shower. A step would be easier for shorter people. 2) There are little geckos or lizards upstairs (crawling on the floors and the walls) 3) Upstairs there are no curtains.. you will wake up early and the outside street noise by the twin beds is loud at night.

Great upgrades (AC thank God:) and overall a comfortable home. Beds were comfy, kitchen adequately supplied, views are tremendous. Location is outstanding as food trucks, restaurants golf, hiking are all within 15 minutes

The photos do not due the properties justice. Significant upgrades have been completed recently which came as a pleasant surprise. Our daughter's wedding was absolutely perfect. Renting the adjacent properties allowed us to provide accommodations onsite for family traveling to Oahu for the wedding. The ability to have the ceremony and reception onsite was simply amazing. Memories to last a lifetime. Thank you Marlene & Team.

We rented all four houses for family and friends, and had our wedding on the Kawela Kai property. We couldn't have asked for a more lovely location and facilities. Having the opportunity for our families to spend almost a week together in this magical place was perfect and easy.

It was most important to us to have a home right on the beach and this VRBO is. A few steps down and we were in the tidal pools. The home itself was very spacious and comfortable for 4 adults and 2 children. We appreciated the covered deck and ate all our meals there, with some of us having coffee on the upstairs balcony. We could see and hear the ocean through the large windows and patio doors.

We were lucky enough to be the first people to stay in the newly remodeled building! Everything was wonderful. The owners were very informative and very kind. The view from the master suite cannot be beat at this price. As other reviewers have mentioned, my wife had some bug bites on her legs. This isn't because of bed bugs, so stop that ****. This property lies next to a reef. When the tide is lower, the reef makes a standing pool of water. Mosquitoes are to blame for the bites, NOT bed bugs. It was only one time regardless. A+ stay! Hope we can get it again if we go back to Oahu!

Property in great location, well presented and suitable for family holiday. Fridge was problematic lots of condensation forming on top and shelves to point of dripping water, obviously a long standing problem as note inside on taped control instructing not to move controls. Windows and blinds in downstairs bedrooms in very poor condition, windows difficult to open and blinds hard to adjust in any way. New deck at back a wonderful space but outdoor furniture provided scratched surface at slightest movement, which was disturbing as we tried to maintain as new surface.

This home could not have been more perfect. Our 3-generation family of 7 stayed here in absolute comfort. Each morning we were met by the crowing rooster, drove the short distance down the road to the famous Ted's bakery for pie, stopped at a fruit stand practically outside the gate, then walked on the beach to collect shells and swim. Though we were there during extreme tide and wave warnings, there were two protected swimming spots about 6 houses away in either direction. This house alone was an ideal set up, but the location would be even better for larger parties combining the properties. It is an hour's drive from Honolulu and Hanauma Bay, but having stayed in Waikiki in the past, this side of the island feels much closer to nature and less like a typical Americanized city.The house itself was in good condition. The furniture was excellent, the windows and screens were all new, wifi worked perfectly. Some of the fixtures and supplies could use updating (faucets, toilet seats, cookware), but everything worked fine. Our favorite thing was the private outdoor shower with hot water. It functioned as a third shower, which was handy with 7 people. We never turned on the tv or the air conditioner because the open windows and the ocean sounds were more than enough. I was leary about staying on the beach because I HATE sand in the house (we had a gritty vacation in San Diego where sand even ended up in the beds), but with the grass yard as a buffer, the outdoor shower, and carpeting in the bedrooms, sand never made it into the house at all. Because the property was gated from the main road, we left shoes outside and hung towels and suits on the clothesline overnight or while we were gone. The lanai truly functioned as an additional living space.If we return to Oahu, we would not consider staying anywhere else. This is the best property (for the price) you will find on the whole island.

Kawela kai was perfect for our family vacation. We all were so comfortable and extremely happy here. We had enough room for everyone to gather and enjoyed the dinners together, the beach walks ( careful for the rocks) and especially the sunsets! Love the location away from the traffic of the North Shore and all the roadside fruit stands. Turtle Bay Resort is so close to enjoy a nice sunset cocktail by the pool bar and live music to boot. Lei Lei's restaurant has amazing food and for the golfer in the group it's a putt away! We are already planning our next visit. Mahalo to Natasha at Team Real Estate for her kindness and Aloha.

This house is better than described. We arrived to blue skies and fantastic ocean views. This house has so much room you can find your own space or spend time with the family on the verandah. There was noise from the cars on the highway but after Saturday night it wasn't that busy. The sound of the ocean negated the cars. The outdoor shower was the best. We all used it as the view was spectacular. The house has everything you require fir a fantastic Holliday. Loved it!

My husband and I rented out all four houses for our beautiful wedding. Our family who stayed in the venue enjoyed this beautiful home. The property was well maintained and clean. We had a hard time opening and closing the door because the door was swollen. So just to be safe because we did not want to break it especially since it had a glass window in the middle of the door everyone had to exit and enter through the sliding doors. Although when it came to locking up we had to exit through the main door, which took us a good 10minutes to get the door open.
