PROPERTY OVERVIEW:

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1.25 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

The Nene Nest, Kauai is a classic, sugar plantation- style cottage located on the always sunny West Side of Kauai. Just 152 steps from the ocean, it offers a true Hawaii feel.

Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; sipping coffee on the updated lanai in the mornings with a book in hand, or by relaxing on the beach surrounded by sunshine and ocean breezes on the beautiful garden isle of Kauai.

This charming authentic island cottage was featured in Tiny Homes Magazine and in the 'Love Shacks: Romantic cabin charmers, modern getaways and rustic retreats around the world' coffee table book and we can't wait for you to experience it!

THE SPACE:

Completely restored and remodeled, it features a new fully-equipped kitchen, new bath, two spacious bedrooms, comfortable living room, lanai, bedroom air conditioning and landscaped garden. Its nine and a half foot ceilings, giant airy windows, original crown moldings and wainscoting, original wood floors, and tropical ceiling fans in each room give you the feeling of 'paradise of old.'

THE AREA:

The home is in Kekaha, the sunniest area of Kauai boasting the longest white sand beach in the Hawaiian Islands. This is true Hawaii, away from the tourist-filled beaches and stores, where church services and grocery-store conversations are still heard in the Hawaiian language. Yet great restaurants, grocery, farmers market, shops, art galleries, and great Kauai outdoor activities are minutes away. Kekaha is at the doorway to Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, famous for its hiking opportunities and vistas of the Napoli coastline.

THE PERFECT WEST SIDE LOW-KEY DAY:

Awake for coffee on the garden lanai.
Drive two minutes and take a morning walk on the longest white sand beach on Kauai.
Stop for lunch at the Lodge at Kokee before an invigorating hike in Waimea Canyon.
Wash off your hiking muscles in the outdoor hot shower.
Stroll two doors down to the ocean, cocktail in hand, to watch the island’s best sunset.
Prepare a light supper in the fully-equipped gourmet kitchen.
Then sleep peacefully in your pillow-top king and queen beds.

Very comfortable accommodations just a couple hundred yards from the beach. Everything we needed was there. Definitely will want to return.

It has been more than 10 years that we came back to Kauai. We were specifically looking for place away from the tourists spaces and any crowds. Nene nest was that spot. A very low key area in a local neighbourhood with its historic ambience. And yes there are roosters! Kekaha Beach is a wonderful place overlooking Niihau where you can spend time walking for hours. You have to drive there and of course you need a car. Major Shopping would be best to do when you arrive in Lihue at Safeway or Walmart before heading out to Kekaha. Anything you forgot you will get in Waimea. In the house you find all you need as described. Would we come back? YES, thanks to our hosts for opening their home on Kauai.

I've been trying to figure out how to describe my stay at the Nene Nest but it is almost beyond description. It is an oasis of quiet days and nights. You can hear the waves, you can listen to the crickets at night when you star gaze. The lack of environmental light pollution in Kekaha makes the night sky explode with stars and the Milky Way. The roosters in the morning, at first, were a bit much but by the end of our stay, I enjoyed listening to them call to one another as the sun rose. But know, they are loud lol The house itself instantly felt like home. It has everything you need (I coveted the fridge), and the Victrola Bluetooth speaker let us play our playlists quietly in the background while making breakfast, lunch or dinner. It was the perfect launching spot to see the island from Polihale to Kapa'a and beyond. Kauai is beautiful island that takes the aloha spirit seriously and makes you feel like ohana by the time you leave. It was important for us to recognize the Native Hawaiian people, their spirit, and respect the land we walked on. The Nene Nest was a very good place to embrace the spirit of aloha and find the rhythm of the island itself. Melissa was super responsive to the all our questions, suggestions, and concerns. She is an awesome host. We are definitely planning a return trip to the Nest.

We absolutely adored Nene’s Nest! The perfect cottage for our family during our fabulous trip to Kauai. Everything was clean, comfortable and easily accessible to what we wanted to do. We will definitely recommend Nene’s Nest to anyone and everyone that we know traveling to Kauai!! What a gem!! Thank you!

We had a lovely stay at Nene’s Nest Cottage. It was close to small boat Harbor for the boat excursion and to Waimea canyon. Also, there is a nice walkable white sand beach nearby. Stars at night were incredible. Melissa was very quick to respond to any questions. Everything in the cottage worked well including the air conditioning, washer and dryer.’

Our stay was truly magnificent! The cottage has been lovingly restored, beautifully appointed, and is in a great location. The sunsets at Kekaha are phenomenal, and all the things we wanted to do in Kauai were nearby, including Waimea Canyon, the Na Pali coast, and the Kauai Coffee Plantation. A special bonus was being on the non-touristy side, hearing the local language, and exploring the small towns. A huge thank you to our hosts!

Initially I panicked when I pulled-up and saw a car parked in the driveway, then I carefully read the instructions that the owner provided us and realized that there is a small driveway to the right of the adjacent property which leads to the Nest. The Nest is very secluded and tucked-away from the street and surrounded with foliage, so it offered a great deal of privacy. The Nest was built in 1950 as a home for the manager of the local sugar plantation and was nicely appointed and decorated. It had all of the amenities that you could ask for, to include high speed Wi-Fi, 2 bedrooms, (1 King & 1 Queen), window AC units (if needed), nice covered porch & car port with a washer & dryer out back. The Nest was also featured in Tiny Homes Magazine. Great place, hope to stay there again next time we are visiting the island!

Beautiful incredibly private home. Love that the whole property is surrounded by hedges with a large lawn. Very convenient location while being away from the crowds. Quick access up to the state parks to beat the crowds hiking.

This is a great property and accurately described in the listing. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. There are beach towels, chairs, boogie boards a cooler and umbrella for your beach days. The beds were very comfortable and the neighborhood felt safe. You can walk directly down to the beach from the home. There is also a larger beach a bit up the road. Salt Pond State Park is also close and has a nice swimming area with lifeguards on duty. Close in proximity to the cute little town of Waimea. Also not a far drive to Waimea Canyon or Port Allen. We appreciated the location of the home and the daily visits from the rooster next door. I would highly recommend this property and we would definitely stay again!

The Nene Nest was such a treat! We loved the homey feel, the Lani was our favorite spot, morning or evening. Discovering Waimea Canyon was such an unexpected adventure. We spent time relaxing and exploring the area. Knowing we could come back to the comfort of the house was just what we needed. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed for a week at the Nene Nest. We traveled around the island all week and enjoyed returning to an always sunny location. Proximity to an incredible beach, food, and many activities was also a perk! Melissa was incredibly thoughtful and checked in during our stay, and provided essentials such as sunscreen, beach gear, and many recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The Nene Nest had everything we needed and more for an incredible stay in Kauai. We can't wait to stay again in the future.

We stayed for a girls trip mid May for 8 days. Communication with Melissa was very fast and she answered every question I had and was on top of all the details, even checking in again on the day we arrived to make sure all was in order. The property is exactly as pictured and described, we had zero troubles the entire time. I can't thank them enough for thinking of all the small details like noise machines because of the chickens, what a relief to be able to sleep past 4am! The air conditioning units in the bedrooms were perfect, they cooled the house in the evening just fine. One suggestion for future travelers is backing straight down into the driveway and leave the vehicle there by the garbage cans vs. trying to get around the fence, we made sure the vehicle was behind the property fence line as there is a neighbor there but it made our in and out so much nicer once we figured that out. :) Thank you Melissa and Kyle for opening your beautiful home, we will be back!

Aloha! Pleasant two bedroom cottage in a rural setting with lots of noisy Roosters - you will need ear plugs. Front door mat needs cleaning. If we ever comeback to Kauai we will stay at the Nene Nest again.

May 2023
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kekaha. The Nene Nest was perfect with loads of character and charm. We spent afternoons at the beach down the road and in the evenings enjoyed the sunset across the street. The locals at the restaurants and food trucks in Waimea were welcoming and friendly. We’re already planning our next trip.

April 2023
Our family of 4 just spent an amazing week at the Nest and it was really amazing. We felt so lucky to be at this sweet little house instead of a big resort. The location is great as the beach across the street is the best. The location feels local, not touristy. You do have to drive to get to certain places - if you want - but driving in Hawaii is always beautiful. You just have to plan accordingly if you want to go to dinner in Princeville etc. as it is almost a 2 hour drive from the house. We didn't mind at all. We were always so happy to get back to the cozy house, with the amazing windows and breezes, cute kitchen, outdoor shower, and comfy beds. Everything was good about his house!! We hope to stay again on our next trip to Kauai. Special place! Thanks for sharing it with us!

The Nene Nest is such a gorgeous bungalow with a beautifully landscaped yard! The house was very clean and had everything that we needed to make our stay super comfortable. We never used the air conditioner opting to have the big gorgeous windows open letting the cool night breeze in. We walked to the beach every night for sunset and it only took a few minutes…we loved being so close! The communication with both the owner and the property manager was excellent…with very quick responses to our questions! We have been coming to Kauai for many years and we would definitely stay at the Nene Nest again! It’s perfect!

We loved our stay at the Nene Nest! It’s a cozy little cottage with a beautiful lanai and garden, within walking distance of the beach. Our favourite part of the stay was star gazing on lawn chairs in the garden while listening to the sound of the ocean waves. This was a great spot for a day trip to Waimea Canyon! We enjoyed eating at JoJo’s Shave Ice and Chicken in a Barrel in nearby Waimea Town.

We have waited for a while to get to come stay at the Nene Nest and we were so happy to have been able to stay for a whole week. The Nene nest is quiet, private and has everything you need. We enjoyed being away from most of the resorts as we got to experience a relaxing vacation. We will definitely be back to enjoy the lanai, the outdoor shower, the walk to the beach and the sunshine.

We have usually stayed in Kapaa but chose Kekaha on westside this time. Glad we did, very mellow and quiet. It is just below the canyon so a quick drive to get there. Hanelei and Kilauea were an easy day trip. Falls at Wailua and Poipu were quick trips too. Kapaa has gotten real busy, so again nice to be in quiet relaxing house with everything you need. If you want beach time Barking Sands is a few minutes away. Sunsets over the water were a 3 minute walk from the house. Also Naapali boat rides available from harbor a few minutes a away. Again, glad we chose Nene Nest!

This may be the cutest place on Kauai. It’s a quiet cottage in the last town before the road ends on the west side of Kauai. You can hear the waves crashing against the rocks and maybe a rooster or two in the morning (but not nearly as many as our other stays). There are so many nice touches it’s hard to list them all. Everything is well stocked: kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms. The bedrooms have air conditioning which we only used one night - the fans were enough the rest of the time. There’s also a washer and dryer. WiFi is good, even with two phone obsessed teens. There are instructions for everything and very simple to check in and out. The owner is very very responsive. Our teens liked it so much they didn’t want to go back out to eat and wanted to eat here on the cute lanai. We also enjoyed watching stars from the lawn chairs in the back yard. They even have boogie boards, beach chairs, a cooler, and umbrellas! While we were here we went to Waimea canyon, did a boat tour of the napali coast, had the best shave ice on Kauai at Jojos in Waimea, and watched the sun set at Polihale state park. All were suggestions from the owners website and messages. We travel a lot and this may be our favorite stay. We’ll definitely be back!

December 2022
Adorable cottage on the sunny, quiet, westside of Kauai. The most comfortable beds, pillows, and sheets I've ever had at a VRBO. They have thought of everything, from beach chairs to sound machines (the Kauai roosters are no joke and the machines are so helpful!). The place was spotless, and the a/c in both bedrooms is efficient: We only used it in the evening and it cooled the whole place down in about 5-10 min. Melissa was prompt and so kind in her communication! Would wholly recommend.

We visited the island the second time and wanted to stay more local with more space and freedom. With the provided guidance of the absolutely supportive owner of the Nene Nest we found it easily. The Check In was well organized. It has its own private garden with sweet little Geckos to be discovered. The house had everything that we needed e.g. Yoga mats, conditioner, shampoo, laundry taps, additional outdoor shower, beach stuff and an own parking lot. The area around the Nest is quiet, local and always sunny. Access to the other famous spots on Kauai was given by car. Finally we would thank the host for responding within minutes. If we visit Kauai again we will check the availability of the Nest first :)

We loved our visit to Kauai and the Nene Nest. It is a perfect quiet spot to chill and enjoy our stay. Centrally located for our daytime excursions. Highly recommend a stay Nene Nest and we hope to plan a trip back there soon.

October 2022
The Nene Nest, built in the 1950s, is such a perfect place to stay on the south shore of Kauai. The yellow and green tiled kitchen, hardwood floors and covered front porch are just a few of the appealing aspects of this cottage. Nene Nest is in a quiet neighborhood, just two houses from the ocean, though it takes a little boulder walking to get down to the small strip of sand. Nene Nest is in a quiet neighborhood (except for the roosters) with a large yard with a gas grill. There are plenty of pots and pans and utensils for preparing meals at the cottage. The location of Nene Nest is at the gateway to the road going up to Waimea Canyon which makes the trip much easier than it would be if you were staying in Poipu. The Canyon is well worth a visit, unless the weather prediction is for clouds obscuring the view. I would highly recommend a stay at Nene Nest.

This property was very close and convenient to most of the major events of my class reunion. We felt secure at the home and was grateful that we had access to wifi and AC. We really appreciated the prompt response to all of our emails and questions. Although we did not need to communicate with the Property Manager during our stay, we appreciated that we had a local manager that we could contact.

The house is set back from the road, so super private and quiet. Located right next to the ocean, with a beach full of the prettiest seashells. The Hawaiian themed furniture in the main room was gorgeous and comfy. There is AC in both bedrooms, which was amazing (and just a few minutes running it instantly cooled the rooms to the perfect temperature). The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could potentially need, and included an adorable welcome basket. Both the outdoor shower and indoor showers were great. There was a closet full of supplies and all sorts of beach chairs/boards/coolers were available to use. The lanai had an outdoor table and the yards were full of Hawaiian blooms and birds. The location was great for the areas we really wanted to visit on this trip, including Polihale and the Kalalau Valley. Honestly, this is one of the best homes I have ever rented. The beds were ridiculously comfy, the aesthetic was lovely, and you could tell so much love was poured into every single detail. Would highly recommend everyone stay here! Host was beyond incredible.

We loved the nene nest. The cottage was homey and spacious for 2. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck and laying in the yard loungers watching the stars. The Kauai chickens were chatty in the mornings 😂 so we closed the windows, the blinds, and turned on their provided noise machines. 👌🏽 We never stay in the same rental twice, but we’d stay here again! Thank you

Let's see...clean, sweet, relaxing, and fun. Located in a quiet, untouched part of the island that we found inviting and restorative. This lovely little space won our hearts and our devotion, so much so that we are already recommending it to friends. If you want crowded and commonplace, this is not the house for you. If you want charming, comfortable, and surprisingly wonderful, book it now! We will definitely be back!!

Our family had the most pleasant stay at Nene’s Nest on our first visit to Kauai. Our host, Melissa, provided great communication and activity/dining suggestions for our trip. The home was private, cute, and cozy. Beds were very comfortable along with some thoughtful amenities throughout the home. Mahalo for being a great host!

We felt so incredibly comfortable at this place. Loved the access to Kekaha and Polihale. We love Kauai and this enabled us to see the slow side of the island and to have time slow down. We truly felt like we were at our own home. Would stay here again without question. Owner communication was beyond great.

My husband and I rented this property to celebrate our anniversary and loved every bit of it. The home was a short walk to the beach and contained absolutely everything we needed. We loved the covered parking, the secluded private yard and having access to an outdoor shower. We will definitely return and recommend the property to friends.

This was our second stay at Nene Nest and it won't be our last. The house is fully equipped and extremely comfortable. We spent most of our house time out on the lanai admiring the gorgeous vegetation and listening to the birds. This southwestern side of Kaua'i is a gem not to be missed and the same is true for the Nene Nest! Mahalo!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Nene Nest! It was the perfect start to our week on the island. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach for sunset and seashell hunting and drove just down the road to Kekaha Beach which was beautiful and clean! The Nene Nest had everything we needed and the location was private. We hope to come back soon!

Relaxing cottage, just off the beach. Perfect location to get away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to not miss out on any of the surrounding activities. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for our family of 4. Thanks!

March 2022
The Nene Nest cottage was a cozy, well-equipped, comfortable cottage. It’s nestled on a postage stamp size lot off the street and behind a larger house. The neighborhood was very quiet, except for the roosters who were quite vocal day and night. It is located close to good restaurants in Waimea and Poipu. We enjoyed our visit and found our time there relaxing.

March 2022
I recently stayed 4 nights with my wife and two daughters (7, 4). Our only regret was not having more nights at the Nene Nest. The house is even better in person. The character of the home made it special. Great location too :)

February 2022
The house is beautifully decorated and well laid out. Wish there was a small table in kitchen as our breakfast time was the same time as sprinklers run disrupting breakfast on porch. I felt the opened flour and condiments in the cabinet and refrigerator detracted from the overall cleanliness of the house.

Rob S.
February 2022
My wife and I really enjoyed your cottage. It is perfectly sized for 2 couples or a small family. I like that it is tucked away and somewhat hidden. The outdoor shower was a real treat. The beds were comfortable and it had all the amenities you’d need. Waimea is a sleepy town and most of the restaurants are daytime only but the grocery is open until 11. We split our time between the west and east side this trip and, honestly, I wish we had just stayed in your place the whole time. It was so relaxing. Hope to see you again soon. Thanks

Our recent11-night visit was a return trip to a beloved plantation cottage in sunny Kekaha, a well-kept secret that proves why "West side is the best side," as a hand-lettered sign near the beach declares. If you're looking for luxe, go to Poipu. If you're looking for nightlife, go to Kapa'a or Hanelei. If you're looking for a very private, very charming and very comfortable beach cottage in a town of friendly folks who live on an endless white sand beach, come here. This town isn't even mentioned in most island guides. It's a sunny secret -- thank god.

What more can we say when The Nene Nest ticked all of the boxes? From the moment we booked the house to the very last day of our stay, the hosts were super communicative! Check in was a breeze and we found the house exactly how it was listed/photographed - very clean with a fully equipped kitchen (including a rice cooker which we used daily). The attention to detail has been thoroughly thought through a traveler's eye. Every time we thought we needed something, there it was! The Nene Nest provides you with everything you need to have the most relaxing stay plus beach gear for days. We have zero complaints and cannot wait to book this place again! The rental property was one of the best parts of our Kauai vacation. We loved the old character and Hawaiian style of the cottage and felt the hosts added wonderful touches to help make your stay even more enjoyable. To mention a few we really loved the public goods products they provided, a straw beach bag & hat to use during your stay, Hawaiian chocolates and even some really fun reading materials and Hawaiian cookbooks. The bed in the master bedroom was cozy and comfortable and the sound machine and A/C unit really helped drown out the morning sounds of Kauai roosters. We were grateful to have found the Nest rental and for hosts that cared so much about providing a great experience for guests. We would highly recommend the Nene Nest to any couple or family looking for a really great spot to stay on Kauai!

November 2021
Lovely plantation cottage, everything you could want from well stocked kitchen to beach amenities, great host, fast secure internet. Somewhat isolated but surrounded by nice and quiet neighbors and of course roosters who get started early. Walk to the nice wide sandy beach is 1.5 miles (or you can drive). There is not much shade there. Walk down the street to access the nearest narrow beach but you have to cross the highway and scramble over the rocks. Great access to Waimea canyon if you like to hike or just explore.

November 2021
Staying at the Nene Nest felt like home! The house itself is so charming and comfortable and quiet. It was a short walk every night to a beautiful sunset. We didn't have the kids with us this time but, in the future, we will definitely bring them along and I know it will be comfortable for us all! It was also really great having things like beach chairs, boogie boards and a cooler to use while we were there, rather than having to rent that stuff. I hope to come back soon!

We aren’t the hotel type. From the moment we booked this seaside cottage, we knew we had made the right decision. Our hosts kept in touch with us for literally 3 months as we monitored the pandemic situation. When we arrived, we knew we had found a little piece of Heaven. Seclusion, peace and quiet, and beauty. As we leave for the mainland this morning, we are already planning next years trip back to the Nene Nest.

My husband and I came here in our honeymoon for a week. The Nene Nest is a little slice of paradise. The home was clean, light, and airy. Landscaping made for a private space. The short walk to the beach was amazing for morning coffee or (even better), the sunset. We loved the local feel of the area, with Waimea being our main watering hole - a small town with everything we needed and plenty of local eats! We went to Salt Pond Park every day we were there - a fantastic little beach with a lifeguard and bathroom. Not very busy or touristy at all. Beautiful beach with palm trees, white sand, and swimmable waters. We enjoyed the west, south, and east side of the island, all in drivable proximity to the Nene Nest. The Nest had everything we needed and wanted - comfy bed, AC in the bedroom(s), breakfast table on the porch, lawn chairs, outside shower and beach toys. Nene Nest was our home for a week and we hope to make it back! Thank you, Melissa and Kyle! Allie & Jeremy

My bf and I had never been to Kauai. We split up our trip by staying in the South and North sides of the Island. We picked The Nene Nest for our South side exclusive and sunny experience. This place did not disappoint!!! The property is tucked away for privacy, but only a very short walk too the beach. The Nene Nest is very well cared for, You can tell the total pride in ownership. We enjoyed cooking breakfast each morning in the nicely stocked kitchen.....not just the cheap pots and appliances. We also enjoyed coffee on the patio, while admiring the beautiful yard. Melissa and Kyle went above and beyond. This place is well appointed. I will definitely stay here again.

Everything was absolutely perfect, the beds were comfy, the cottage was charming with beautiful space to lounge, listen to the waves. Steps away from the beach to enjoy the sunset, all the amenities on hand allowed us to arrive and head out on an adventure! When we found the beach umbrella was missing, our host found one for us and had it delivered within a few hours. They truly went above and beyond and we can’t wait to return.

I had just about given up on finding a cute little cottage when booking my trip to Kauai. Everything I looked at was on a golf course or in a resort and that’s not really my jam. I just about died when the Nene Nest popped up on the screen. I didn’t even look at the location. I spent the first 4 nights on the North side and 4 nights in Kekaha and it was the perfect way to sink into both experiences. The cottage has all the amenities one needs and it’s beautifully decorated. So cozy and homey with modern touches. Lots of great information on where to eat and play. Everything is clearly explained if you can’t figure out how to work the fans for example. We will definitely come back. XO Ingrid

This place was such a treat! Was NAO excited to get out to the west side of the island for some relaxation and this house did not disappoint! The porch, yard, and comfy beds were our such an oasis. It’s proximity to Waimea Canyon and Polihale were cherries on top. Melissa was such a great host and we would love to come back one day! Thanks so much for hosting!

The Nene Nest is a uniquely curated rental property on the south shore. Has an airy and homey feel and a well-stocked kitchen and bathroom. The beds are extremely comfortable – we got the best sleep after hiking and beach hopping! Wonderful outdoor space to enjoy coffee or cocktails. The outdoor shower surrounded by native plants is totally luxurious. We are so glad that we booked!

This property is very charming, if your looking to relax this is the perfect place to do so. Great location for all your west activities, Waimea canyon, polihale state park, etc. Any thing past poipu we found ourselves in the car too long with traffic. Knowing this prior, We split our trip and stayed north as well, this location is too far west. Host has great communication. Yes there are a lot of roosters and chickens that live on the property and in the yard of the next property. You will hear them around 7 am every morning right outside the bedroom window, even with windows closed. They didn’t bother me much as I’m a heavy sleeper, but my husband wore earplugs. Would love to stay at this property again in the future.

We loved the home and privacy of the property. We felt like locals our whole stay even though it was our first time in Hawaii. The proximity to all of the scenic areas on the south and west shore was perfect. Definitely advise doing everything possible to rent a car though! We were lucky enough to find a local to rent us one. We will 100% be back and we will 100% share the spot with friends and family.

The NeNe Nest is even more charming in person than in pictures. I loved the landscaping and outdoor shower. Hearing the ocean from the lanai was an unexpected perk!

My wife and I chose the Kamewile Cottage for our honeymoon and had an incredible time. Everything from the platation decor to the bright red ginger flowers in front set the mood and made us feel right at home from the first minute. We were able to take in the beach anytime we wanted (including some breathless sunsets), and enjoyed eating our dinners on the lanai almost every night. All the necessities and a lot of extras (such as beach gear or the outdoor grill) were there, and we wanted for nothing. We are already thinking about our return next year. (PS. We initially worried about being so far out of the way in Kekaha, but it worked great, especially for hiking up in the mountains or heading to the amazing Polihali beach. And no rain to spoil any plans.)

The house was absolutely beautiful!! It had everything in it that you could possibly want or need, and it was decorated to perfection! The location was wonderful, we walked to the beach and watched a beautiful sunset every night. It was a great vacation and I would highly recommend this property to everyone!!!

We took our 5 week old daughter on holiday the first of March 05 and found the cottage to be the perfect escape for us and her. The cottage is beautifully decorated and is the perfect size for a family of 4 or 2 couples. We ate all our dinners in, (the kitchen is well furnished)and watched the sunset from the front porch. It took us 2 minutes to walk to the beach and about 10 minutes to get to the grocery store by car. This is a perfect spot in paradise need we say more.

March 2010
My husband and a friend and I stayed at the cottage recently and had a fantastic time. The cottage was beautiful and comfortable and conveniently located across the street from the beach where we watched many sunsets. The cottage is really nice, extremely well taken care of and everything in it is good quality, down to the beach towels. If we ever go back to Kauai (which we will), we will definitely stay in Kekaha and stay at Kamewile (if we can get it!). We loved it and highly recommend it.
