It was a perfect location, as it was just minutes away from our conference location, eating locations, open market and shopping. The home accommodated 6 adult women with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Beautiful setting, very open for the beautiful scenery out the windows in the dining room, kitchen, living room and both bedrooms on the back of the home, with fresh and cool breezes, we were able to sit in the dining room and enjoy each other's company. Definitely a keeper.

Our family of four enjoyed a comfortable stay at this clean, welcoming home. There was plenty of room to spread out, unpack and settle in for a week. We loved the ease of pulling into the garage and loading or unloading our van on our daily excursions. The quiet fans in every room and nice breezes that flowed through the open windows kept the home comfortable. Earplugs at night while the Coqui frogs partied, allowed us restful sleep.

This home is a gem. Its located in a very quite neighborhood not far from Hilo town. Easy access to the airport, grocery stores and lots of local eateries. This home beautifully upgraded, comfortable and very well taken care of. Having gone to Hilo for work it was beyond perfect after a long day. The property management was very professional and responded immediately to any of our needs.

We stayed for three nights at this really lovely house in Hilo. It looks just as pictured. It's very well-located for getting into Hilo and to the surrounding areas. The host also gave us some oranges from her tree, and homemade malasadas (look them up!). She also provided umbrellas to borrow, a necessity in rainy Hilo. Bring earplugs for the frog noise--it is quite loud.

The house was beautifully updated and immaculately clean, which made our stay in Hilo very pleasant. We were a group of 7, spanning 3 generations and had a very comfortable stay. The house was a great base for a trip to Volcanos National Park (45 mins away) and to visit the sights and attractions of Hilo. Big Box stores like Safeway and Target are within a 10 minute drive. Highly recommend this home for anyone wanting to visit Hilo.

Our stay at Uhi Wai was exceptional! The rental had everything to make our stay enjoyable. The check-in/out process was so simple. The location of this property was perfect as well, grocery stores, restaurants, the mall and gas stations were minutes away. Our family enjoyed staying at this beautiful well kept home.

A beautiful spacious home in Hilo located in a quiet neighborhood. The only noise that we heard were the coqui frogs at night.We could reduce their sounds by closing the windows.Yonell was a very gracious and considerate host. Everything was provided for a short stay incuding a washer/ dryer.The view was amazing from the backyard, we saw Mauna Loa on a clear day.We enjoyed our stay.

A total of 8 of us enjoyed our stay at this outstanding property. It was so clean and equipped with everything you could think of- includiing fresh eggs and a welcome bag of snacks! Communication with the owners was excellent. We initially wanted to stay somewhere close to Volcano but we were so happy we went with this location instead. Highly recommend.

Our family from Kauai and Oahu needed a place for 2 nights to attend our son’s graduation from firefighter recruit training. This VRBO was the perfect place for a local family like ours. Extremely well kept and clean. Yonnell was also a great communicator. I highly recommend Uhi Wai and would absolutely stay here again if ever coming back to Hilo.

The property location is awesome, it is in the local hub of things and places. I love that the owners used sound proof windows because the croqui frogs get loud at night. The owners live behind you on the same lot. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with exception to the dining area. There is no privacy because no curtain was placed. The owners and their family can see what you’re doing if they wanted to, not that we were doing anything wrong. It’s just a privacy thing, especially when we dine with our family we wanted that. Mahalo to the owners for allowing us to stay in their beautiful home!

This house was the perfect choice for our family. It was immaculately clean - floors, bathrooms, kitchen, everything. The house was incredibly well stocked - cooking essentials and extras, a cooler, beach towels, beach gear, and more. We even noticed that they had lots of things for people traveling with babies.
All of the beds were comfortable. Water pressure in the bathrooms was good. The washer and dryer are nice, full-size models. The kitchen appliances are also really nice and in excellent condition.
As Texans, it was an adjustment for us to leave windows open instead of having an air conditioner, but I grew to really enjoy the fresh air and the island sounds. Light sleepers might struggle with the local frog songs, but that seems to just be a part of life around Hilo. Closing the windows blocks the sound almost completely.
My entire family loved this house and agreed that it was the best place we stayed on the Big Island. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We stayed for two nights and saw many waterfalls off the highway and turtles at Hilo ocean spots. This was a clean, comfortable home to use as a base camp. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. The frogs were very loud at night but that was also part of the fun. The owner provided a bunch of delicious fresh eggs from their chickens. It’s in a neighborhood so occasionally we’d hear some barking dogs. It was nice to be able to park in the garage. Good location...being on the ocean isn't everything. Tropical rainforest scent was amazing. Wish we had booked it for more nights.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely modern home! The kitchen was complete with all of the items that we needed to cook our fish from the Suisan fish market! The central location in Hilo made it easy to hop over to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We would definitely stay here again.

This property is centrally located - so close to restaurants and shops, around 40 mins from Volcanoes National Park and just 10 mins to the airport. The house is clean and perfect for a family of 6 adults. Appreciated the attached garage especially during rainy days. The owners are responsive and quick to help out with any issues. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back here on our future trip to Hilo.

What a tremendous stay in Hilo.
This home was in the perfect location. Close proximity to Volcano, downtown, Rainbow Falls and others.
The home is pristine. SPOTLESS. Clearly the owners take great pride in their property. We had everything we needed. From laundry detergents to extra towels and fresh eggs from the chicken out in the backyard.
Our family and friends enjoyed this stay and will definitely be back again if we find our travels in Hilo.
