We have spending extended-family vacations in the Hanalei for 40 years because of its natural beauty and recreational opportunities. We now require a second house in/near the Hanalei Palms neighborhood for the expanded families. The Ohana House worked well for 6 people; it was well-furnished and comfortable. Our only issue was that the loft is very exposed to the common area of the house, so sleeping there required all of us to be on the same schedule. The location is perfect, only a few minutes walk to the beach or to "downtown". We enjoyed swimming in Hanalei Bay, snorkeling at Tunnels and Anini, and dining at Postcards and Bar Acuda. Hali at Na Pali Properties was very helpful.

My teenaged daughter and I thought this house was perfect for our stay in Hanalei. We absolutely loved the location - we could walk to the beach or town in a few minutes! My daughter loved the lofted bedroom - it was airy and light. The master was large and comfortable and, even without the air on, was cool (even chilly) during the night. We loved the spacious living room/dining room with beautiful mountain views. It rained one evening and in the morning we saw several additional waterfalls making the view even more beautiful! The kitchen was fully equipped and a great size. The outdoor shower was such a treat. Next to that we found all the equipment we needed from beach chairs to inner tubes. The grounds were very tropical including ti plants, orchids and bromeliads. Hali from Na Pali Properties was extremely helpful before and during our stay. We can't wait to return!

This is a wonderful house in a prime location. Easy walk to the beach and town. It’s bright and clean and the new AC in each room is very nice! The outdoor shower is a delight and having a beach wagon is the best! Communication with Na Pali Properties from start to finish is always top notch. Highly reccommend!

In the heart of Hanalei, this home is beyond charming, filled with lovely books, down-home art, and light. The garden is gorgeous and central to the home. A stone's throw from town or the beach, it's ideal for families doing their own thing, but it's also perfect for those planning adventures all around the island. The kitchen suits serous chefs and those uninterested in anything save the fridge. But forget creature comforts because this place is special for its atmosphere, understated beauty, and breathless surroundings. Don't think twice about booking this magical home.

It is a very comfortable home with comfortable beds, a fully stocked kitchen, and very nice living space. It is a very short walk to the beautiful beach. A very pleasant place to stay.

My family had a wonderful stay at the Ohana house. It is the perfect Hanalei home. It is in a very central location with a quick walk to town and the beach. The home is well stocked with beach equipment and a beach cart! Our daughter loved the backyard and chasing the chickens. We will be back for sure! Loved every second of our stay.

We have stayed many times in Hanalei, normally about a block closer to the beach, but I THIS will be our new rental home going forward. Outstanding layout of the house, has basically anything you could possibly need, including an excess of fans and well-screened rooms to get the trade winds in at night. Well-stocked beach supplies, an outdoor shower, wonderful lawn and private back lawn/garden w/ pomelo and avocado trees. Kitchen has all the basics you will need, some board games and an internet-enabled TV to stream all of your favorite services. Appliances work great, one of the coldest fridge/freezers I have seen in a Hanalei rental, and very modern and clean laundry facilities.
Only two small items to note. The showers are short and the master shower is not adjustable... so if you are 6' like myself it is not ideal. I ended up just showering outside as that has hot water and is much taller/adjustable. The other note is the internet. While Island internet has never been great (which is shocking given Starlink is not that expensive), this router had a habit of kicking my phones off all the time. I suspect it is a cap on upload speeds or amounts, as it was able to stream Amazon movies to the TV just fine. Just keep that in mind if you want to upload/share your photos more real time... you can walk down to the ice cream shop and there is better internet there, or just wait until back on the mainland.

Ohana House was charming, beautifully decorated and wonderful gardens. Short walk to both beach and town. House could use a little "polish" by replacing screens and interior doors, new cooktop/range, etc. Wouldn't cost much and would improve the experience.

We had a wonderful stay. Ohana House is very comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need. Very peaceful setting. We loved being able to walk to town and beach so easily. We would definitely stay there again.
We had some trouble figuring out how to turn on TV and the check out instructions in the home binder did not fully match the instructions on the fridge, but we figured it all,out.

Perfect for our family of 5. Excellent location, enjoyed the outdoor shower. We went to the beach multiple times a day. We hiked and explored the coast. The use of the boogie boards, chairs and wagon simplified our packing. Kitchen had basics but needed to purchase items to make meals. Plenty of hot water, laundry worked efficiently. The house was easy to keep clean with kids constantly covered in sand. We can’t wait to return.

We have stayed in Hanalei many times, but this was our first time at Ohana House. We absolutely loved everything about the property. The house is spacious and beautiful. I think it has the most well stocked kitchen of any place we have ever stayed. The view of the mountains from the living room is stunning. We had a little more rain than usual during our visit but with view from the living room we had great views of the waterfalls! The backyard is nicely landscaped, and the lanai has great outdoor seating. The staff at Na Pali Properties was great to work with both prior to and during our visit. Overall, just a great experience.

We had the most wonderful family visit to Hanalei and cannot wait to return. Na Pali properties was wonderful to work with (thanks Hali!) and the house was perfect for us. First of all - the view of the mountains and a waterfall from the living room and backyard takes your breath away. The location could not have been better - a super easy short walk either to town or to the beach. One of the most beautiful beaches in the world I might add. The house was stocked with everything we could have wanted, including a wagon, beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas and towels. Our toddler loved riding in the wagon every day and then rinsing off the sand in the outdoor shower (one of our favorite things too!). My husband and I loved reading in the backyard or playing one of the games the house had while our daughter napped every afternoon. One thing I will note for future families with small children is that we didn't feel comfortable having her sleep in the front room with just a latch on the door or in the loft upstairs so we set up her pack n play in the second bathroom. It worked out fine because it was nice and dim in there. Just something to be aware of if you have small children. Otherwise there is plenty of room out in the main living area too. Another thing we loved about the house was how it was tucked away and very private with all the hedges while still being so close to it all. Bottom line, this family home was so comfortable and wonderful in every way. We would go back in a heartbeat and hope to!

We loved our time at your home. It was the ideal beach house for us and was described perfectly. The back yard was lovely! I wish the avocados had been ripe - we’ll have to time that better next time.
The master bedroom was roomy with lots of space to put our clothes and the bed was comfortable. One of our teenage sons slept comfortably in the loft and the other stayed in the back bedroom. Be aware that the loft has stairs up to the loft and also the bed is on a platform. Not a great place for anyone with mobility issues.
We cooked some meals which worked out well. The grocery store is a 2 min drive or 6 min walk away. They have all the things you would need but not too gourmet. We kept our meals simple and it was easy.
The location of this house is great! It’s a 5 min walk to the beach (or 3 min if you go to the big public access) and a 4 min walk to the stores.
There were plenty of towels (bath and beach) and beach chairs, wagon, cooler and umbrella.
The only thing that would have been nice is bocce balls or croquet for the back yard.
We hope to come back!

It's not fancy but it was exactly what our family of 6 needed and you can't beat the location. Easy communication with the hosts - a key went missing, we needed a beach umbrella and the can opener broke and they fixed everything immediately. Lovely people and a lovely property.

Pleasant surprise with a beautiful yard. The yard boasts a Palmello tree , Hawaiian grapefruit - and an Avocado tree which was producing large delicious avocados. We had a lovely time at the Ohana House.

My husband and I and our 8 year old twin girls just spent 9 days here and it was perfect for our family. It's a lovely cottage house, a few minutes walk into the center of town and a few minutes walk to the beach. The location was ideal! We also enjoyed the open layout of the house and the beautiful mountain view. Since we were there in August, I was nervous about it being too hot without ac, but it really cools down at night and there were plenty of fans, so it was actually quite comfortable. Also the property managers respond quickly and are so friendly and helpful. We had a special request with check-in that they went out of their way to accommodate us and we really appreciated that. We really enjoyed our stay here and would happily return. Thank you!

We've loved this place every time we've stayed here. The back yard is perfect for kids and you can enjoy the amazing mountain/waterfall views from inside the house as well- SO nice to wake up and have a cup of coffee while enjoying the gorgeous back yard plants and further mountains. Chickens and geckos galore! Less than 5 minute walk from house to your chosen spot on Hanalei Beach, perfect for families with young kids who need to go back/forth. House has plenty indoor and beach towels and all the things you'll need to fill the wagon for a day at the beach. Truly a comfortable and homey space (but with better views).

The house is a short walk to town and close to the beaches at Hanalei Bay. The house feels spacious; the kitchen has everything you need including a grill & great beach supplies. There is some road noise and the ubiquitous rooster crowing but you get used to it. The house is a little dated and could use a deep cleaning but it is neat and decently maintained. 3d bedroom is a loft and would be fairly warm. The kitchen faucet needs an adjustment and the steps to the laundry area should be painted as it's a little tricky to distinguish the steps when light is low. The 2d bedroom is behind the laundry room and separate from the 2d bathroom which is slightly inconvenient. The grounds are lovely and create a sense of privacy, peace and beauty. We would stay again!

Location is awesome although on a pretty busy side street. Very old home which is fine but not updated. Needs new countertops and certainly the fan in the wall in the upstairs bedroom. There is no AC which is fine but there were a couple rough days with the heat. Outdoor shower is fantastic however the two inside need alot of attention. I almost went to ACE and replaced the shower heads as they were not very useable. I did replace a few lights and cleaned a bit. The cleaning crew must not be able to reach the top of the lights and or fans as they were all quite dirty and or in need of repair One last interesting fact is the neighbor woman across the street feeds the birds in the properties front yard. I saw her basically every other day throwing seed over the bushes. Not really sure why she was doing that but it sure gets those Rosters going first thing in the morningAll said and done the property was not bad. I might consider going there again as the location was great but I would probably ask to see if the place had been updated in any way especially the bathrooms

This vacation house is perfectly laid out for two or three small families/couples visiting Hanalei Bay together. The vacation rental was clean and the process was easy. The place is not fancy but you can’t beat the location…ie Equal walking distance to Hanalei Bay Beach and the restaurants and shops in town. Aku road can be a bit noisy as it’s a main thoroughfare on the way to the beach. And of course there are the Kauai roosters. But the perks of the location outway any negatives.

We LOVED the Ohana House! The pictures of the property are great and seeing it in person is even better. Morning coffee looking at the waterfalls on the mountain. Mature and fruiting avocado and citrus trees. Birds (both tropical and chickens) are everywhere. A short walk to the beach and plenty of gear to take for a fun day. An even shorter walk to town. Plenty of room plus everything we needed to entertain family staying elsewhere on the island. Basically, perfect for us. We can't wait to get back and we'll definitely stay at the Ohana House again!!

We had a wonderful time on our vacation at this home. We loved the large windows that looked out on the beautiful backyard with views of the mountain. Love the landscaping! Spent every morning with our coffee enjoying the views and sounds of birds and chickens. Some late afternoons to escape the heat with the nice shade and breeze. The location is great with the 5 minute walk to town or the other way to the beach.
The town of Hanalei is fantastic, the beach is one of the prettiest I have ever seen, and this is a great value rental.
Note that during the early evening there is loud traffic sound from the bedrooms as the rental is on the main road from the beach. Also there is no AC so you will not want to be in the bedrooms anyway due the heat. After 9pm it will quiet down for when you go to sleep. This was not a big deal because you are either out to dinner, watching the sunset on the beach, or just hanging out in the beautiful backyard until it cools off in the house. While there are rentals with AC they will cost more. However I just loved this authentic simple house with the beams, big windows, open shutters, and awesome private backyard. Would take that anytime compared to a fancy rental with AC where your backyard is looking directly onto another house. It has everything you need. It would be nice if they trimmed the purple flower tree in the back for more views of the mountain is my only feedback.
