We truly enjoyed our stay. The inside of the beach house was a little dated but nicely appointed. The outside could use some minor maintenance but the ocean views from the back deck were amazing. The location was convenient to Kona and other Big Island attractions / activities. Would highly recommend staying here if visiting Hawaii.

Check in was seamless and host was very attentive to my questions. I was allowed a late checkout which greatly benefited us because our plane didn’t depart until 7:40. this is a stand alone home - very hawaiin style. super nice to be right on the water. short walk to a cute little beach. it is a little outdated but was fine for us. town was a couple mile walk. the complete package would have been able to walk to town. again, it was fine for us. we were driving anyways for adventures.

Can’t say enough about this vacation home! Two couples traveling to Kona. Your home provided a convenient location to explore the island. And we only missed one sunset in our 10 day stay! The property’s location and views were amazing! However The spa we couldn’t get the jets to come out very powerful. There’s a few things that need updating but the beds were very comfortable! They had pretty much everything we needed! They definitely have old snorkeling equipment so bring your own! Overall we had a very comfortable time here!

We’ve been to Hawaii so many times, but it’s our second time on the Big Island, I highly recommend this place. Great location, it’s right on the street to get out, but no issues. Cleanliness is my biggest issue with VRBO, this home is so nice and clean and I think it’s the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, I would definitely come back. Awesome!!

Truly a hidden gem! This place checks all the boxes we are looking for when we travel: location, amenities, cleanliness, and comfort. Hands down the best seaside view Kona has to offer! Nothing better than sitting on the large lanai soaking in the sound of the waves and beauty of the vivid blue ocean ….except the picture postcard perfect sunsets! We spent the vast majority of our stay on the lanai soaking in the sights sounds and smells of the ocean. The location is a short 5 minutes from downtown Kona. Close enough to enjoy some touristy things but far enough away to not let the hustle and bustle deprive us of the relaxation we were looking for.
The kitchen is well appointed. The bedrooms are well sized with comfortable king sized beds. Both bedrooms also have usable closet space. Washer, drier, and A/C brought it all together as the perfect place for us to kickback and relax. Host is very helpful and super responsive. Can’t wait to return!

What a wonderful home, right on the beautiful Pacific Ocean! We thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the lanai, watching the humpback whales frolic right in front of us, and soaking in the hot tub. But the Sunsets…the Sunsets were SPECTACULAR, every single day. The home is close enough to the shopping and restaurants (7 min drive) but still gave us the privacy and Hawaii experience we were craving. We fully took advantage of the very well stocked kitchen. Everything you can possibly need to cook up some delicious meals. There is a great farmers market a few blocks up the street for fresh produce & coffee. Also a grocery store & fish market is a 10 min drive away. The decor is in need of some updating/cleaning, but since we spent the majority of our time outside, that was easily overlooked.
Peter was an outstanding host and communicator. We will definitely be back!!

Minor issues he might address… outdoor BBQ unusable due to rust damage, living area furnishings need updating, including severely ripped ottoman… overall, very pleasant 2 1/2 week stay.

Wonderful house in the best location. It was great sitting on the deck in the morning watching the waves crashing 10 feet away from me. Watched breaching whales while sipping coffee. Sitting in the hot tub on the deck under the stars and listening to the ocean was perfect. The house was well stocked and everything worked. Beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

Spent the last 10 days soaking up the sound of the ocean waves and the gentle breeze from the lanai of this wonderful property and we can’t wait to go back. The home is well appointed and clean! The kitchen appliances appear to be new. Although it was hot and humid during our stay, the A/C and ceiling fans made sleeping comfortably a breeze. And those sunset views are too pretty to put into words!!! Host is easy to work with and very responsive. We will be back!

House was well stocked with everything you would need, all you need to purchase is the food that you are going to eat. Amazing view!!! House was very clean, beds are super soft, and updated kitchen.

The house was clean and well stocked. The 2 bedrooms and 2 baths suited our family well. The only outage I had was the fact that I have difficulty standing so i needed a stool or plastic chair for the shower; like I use at home. I got one at Walmart.
There are 2 cats that frequently came by the house. The folks before us noted that they fed them. The ocean wave noise made sleeping wonderful.
This was our 2nd stay with Peter and we look forward to a return. He is a wonderful host.

We stayed in your beautiful house on the beach with our family of four. Views were spectacular, location was perfect. So private, wrap around lanai, lounge chairs in the lawn, its own access to the beach. It was walking distance to Ali’i gardens market place. A very short drive to Kona shopping area. The house had all the comforts and amenities that we needed. Everything in the house was organized and clearly labeled especially in the well equipped kitchen. We feel so thankful to have spent a few days there enjoying the ocean breezes, great views, beautiful sunsets. We rented this house the whole month of March. What an amazing time! The location of this house right on the water is so amazing! We spent most of our time when we were at the house on the lanai. We only ate three meals inside and never had the TV on. Peter, the host was great and fast at communicating with any questions we had. I know some of the reviews had mentioned the house being worn down, and things needed to be repaired. I could see that, but also after renting other beachfront properties in other states, it Has to be a real challenge to keep up with all the damage of the ocean sea salt air. Also, some people had complained about Ali’i Drive being very busy. I knew that ahead of time because we’ve been to Hawaii before and that is the main road along the ocean. It is pretty noisy sometimes at night but you’re still able to hear the ocean. The house was very well stocked, more so than a lot of other VRBO’s we have rented.. All in all, it could use some TLC, but would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a wonderful Hawai’i vacation!

We (2 couples) spent a lovely 2 weeks at Peter's home right on the water. The house was so well stocked with everything you can think of - pantry items, blender, coffee grinder, martini shaker, boogie boards, Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrella, cooler, full-size toiletries, puzzles, binoculars, etc. Peter is an excellent host; so quick to respond to any queries. We had many cooler, rainy days (due to a Kona Low weather system) so we really loved having a hot tub on the deck! We spent several days on the small beach/cove a short walk down the stairs and over the lava. The location can't be beat - walking distance to the Poke Shack and a few minutes by trolley or car to the snorkel beach (Kahalu'u) or downtown Kailua. Mahalo nui loa, Peter for a great stay!

the property is on the ocean but it is also very close to a busy street @ a stop sign. We compared it to Disney land...used to be first class but with the amount of use... it is extremely worn. We imagined that with being able to rent on a regular basis, why shut it down for regular maintenance. Way too much used food in the cabinents.

Absolutely loved everything about this place! It was clean and had everything we needed. The lanai and hottub were where we spent most of our time and the short walk to a secluded beach was so welcomed. We cooked in the kitchen several times, used the grill, and enjoyed the beach chairs, etc. Our favorite part was definitely the view, so stunning!

What a wonderful place! This home is close enough to the heart of Kona to be be convenient but far enough away for some relaxation. It’s very clean and well appointed. The host communicates quickly and was very responsive before and during our stay. Then there are the sunsets! You will love spending time on the newly renovated deck watching the sunset into the Pacific Ocean or spotting sailboats, parasailors, and maybe even a whale or dolphin. Don’t hesitate to book this one! We will be back!

Just a perfect stay and Peter went above and beyond to make us feel at home and welcomed. The house was fantastic, the perfect location, far enough from the "Kona downtown" to be quiet but close enough to pop into town as needed. And just a great view, we ate so many meals on the deck and watched the sunset there almost every night. being frequent visitors ,this was the first time staying close to town. we enjoyed being closer to everything . Our biggest issue was with being so close to a shoreline access and some of the "dealings" and things that go with it. We live very rural in our everyday life so dealing with some things is not for us.

Beautiful view! Your own private grassy knoll over looking the magnificent ocean with an easy hop to the sand and ocean. Almost daily whale sightings right from the deck! Sea turtle neighbors right in front! Mesmerizing sunsets every day!
House is incredibly well stocked with every dish and utensil and seasonings and coffee condiments and small appliances!!! … and even laundry soap, shampoos and condotioners! Beach chairs and everything well above and beyond your needs for a day at a beach!
And ac is powerful when you just need some cooling off.
Super zippy wifi also!

Incredible view from sun up to sunset We saw turtles, whales and dolphins in one day out front. The small public access next to the house was also nice to see the community as many locals go to the small beach and watch the sunset there. Thanks Peter for making your home available. great set up, great view and very private. . Can't get any closer to the water. Had significantly more amenities than most BnB's I have stayed at. Thought we were going to have to go back to the store until we opened the cupboards. We had a laugh at you having a glass for every type of cocktail and drink imaginable. Thanks!

Couldn’t snorkel out front as there’s really not an easy entry

Exactly what we expected, and what we needed. What a beautiful house right on the ocean as promised. The yard area extends out onto the ocean-front lava flow more than the neighbors on either side, so a feeling of semi-isolation is felt from the lanai and the raised platform in the yard. Go down onto the rocks, and then head north about 1,000 yards and you'll find yourself in a little bay with a beach, surfing and Boogie Boarding. Just a further north from that is the Ali's Saltwater "Swimming Pool" alongside the ocean (seems to be the best kept secret in Kona!?). However, if you a looking for a maintained, pristine, clear-water pool this is NOT for you.
The furnishings and window treatments were top notch, and central air was a real plus! The hot tub on the deck was welcomed after long days of adventuring, and a real bonus to the property.
The master bathroom was huge compared to what we are used to, and the master bedroom was beautiful with a comfortable mattress.
No direct swimming for us off the front of the house as the wave action prevented it, but we drove down to "Two-Step", as well as a kayak ride to the Captain Cook's monument, for swimming/snorkeling.
A car is really critical for getting around the Kona district, and if you want to explore the rest of the island. However, the "downtown" area of Kailua is a quick bike ride or walk from the house, on the same street (Ali'i Drive) but just to the north. Lots of pubs, restaurants, shops, and historic sites all concentrated in that area. Just to the south, about a 1/4 mile, you can walk to Da Poke Shop for lunch...YUM! Beyond that is Banyans and Magic Sands beaches and surf break. Good to walk to as parking is tight!
I highly recommend the manta ray night snorkeling experience down at the local harbor at Keauhou Bay. We help paddle a double hulled canoe out, but lots of power boat options as well. WARNING: lying face down in the water with swells CAN make you seasick! No touchy the rays, but the manta's do get within "licking distance"!

Overall we thought it was a very good place to stay. House was very clean, nicely furnished and had a well stocked kitchen with all the machines, pots, pans, utensils and cleaning things you’d want. We really liked the kitchen. Master bedroom bed was a little too soft more my like but not too bad. Bathroom in the master has a track for a sliding door that isn’t flush to the ground. Stubbed my toe a few times in the night on that and otherwise had to remember to step over it each time. That should be fixed somehow. BBQ outside was great. Outdoor space is lovely and right on the water. Getting in and out is tight because the gate is right off a busy road and it is a tight turn to get into the property. Once we figured out a system the second day we were ther it was easier. Would recommend the house to others. We enjoyed our time there.

The home was everything we imagined! It’s very nice with comfortable beds. The kitchen is well stocked for making meals. We did use the BBQ a few times and sat on lanai anytime we were at “home” watching the sunset and waves. The living room was super comfy and well furnished. Plenty of water toys if desired. There is a hot tub, however we did not use it as we played on the beach that was right there. Lastly, there is an AC unit, and we only turned it on for a few minutes upon arriving to cool the house down and then turned it off for the remainder of our stay. We took advantage of all the windows to enjoy the ocean sounds and breeze including the fans to keep the house cool. Our host, Peter, was quick to respond to any of our questions. We definitely would rent this house again in the future.

This was an incredible vacation. We decided last minute to go to the big island. I'm very picky & this was only my 2nd time using VRBO.
The location of the house was perfect for us-close to restaurants/grocery stores, about 25 minutes south of the airport. The VIEW was so beautiful-lava rocks coastline and right on the ocean.
The house was clean, A/C worked very well, the King bed was very comfortable, kitchen well stocked. Weber grill, Washer/Dryer, beach chairs/umbrella were in good condition, and very appreciated.
Communicating with Peter was easy and fast-very responsive & helpful. We also used his rental ALL Wheel drive Subaru SUV-very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Peter!!!
Just a few suggestions: provide a windshield sun shade for the car, add a few more beach towels, and a stainless fry pan. :)

This house was the best part of our vacation. It was easy to get to and beautiful and clean. The location right on the water was awesome. We were able to explore the tidepools everyday and it fit our family. So much fun to wake up to the sound of the waves and to sit on the patio to watch the sunset. This is a beautiful property right on the west shore of the Big Island. The back deck overlooking the waves was perfect. We found everything we might need for beach and water adventure: coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, even binoculars. The property was very secure as a gated compound. Access though was easy. Peter the owner was responsive to all our questions and very accommodating. Beds were comfy, bathrooms spacious and updated. We cooked in most mornings and a few evenings, the kitchen had everything an amateur chef might need. The gas BBQ was clean and ready to go. AC was on spot. Close shopping, beaches and restaurants. Highly recommend to families and couples!

Great place to stay for a family vacation. The TV even had Netflix for some relaxation after a long day at the beach. Highly recommend!
