Our stay was fine. The actual building is pretty run down, the upgrade to the condo itself was fine. Rooms are spacious (aside from the bunk room) The bunks are metal framed & VERY squeaky (if you have light sleepers, not ideal) The views from the patio are spectacular! The grounds are very active, lots of families, AA meetings, and it turns in to an off-leash dog park in the afternoons. Located right next to Public Beach access so many people there to watch sunset etc.. The Beach is great for walking, not swimming. Saw many turtles swimming off shore. Note, there are a few homeless camps just down the beach. We had almost ZERO communication from the property managers. 2 of 3 emails went completely unanswered. Close proximity to stores & restaurants. Plenty of parking.

The unit and property were as advertised. The unit was on the fourth floor which gave beautiful views of the property , ocean and sunsets . The property itself was very well maintained! They cleaned the pool each morning and its upkeep is obviously a priority. Would stay there again for sure .

The unit was spacious and in an unbeatable location for access to the entire island of Maui. Right on the cusp of North and South Kihei. Our group was always a few minutes from the main highway or had South Kihei road at our doorstep. We didn’t realize the building was named Maui Sunset until arrival and the sunsets were truly glorious from our ocean view on the Lanai.
A few minor inconveniences during our stay such as internet access being down for 2 days with no prior notice as well as the lack of beach parasol or umbrella to go with the provided beach chairs. Considering it sleeps 8 people realistically, it would be nice to include at least one beach umbrella.
Lots to do on the condo property as well as in the neighborhood. Nalu’s a short walk (~8-10 minutes) was a favourite spot for breakfast and brunch on those lazy mornings.
Word of warning, the lower beds in the bunk room are at floor level. Be prepared to use those hips, backs, and leg muscles to get into and out of the bed.

Overall we had a great stay. Condo is as advertised. The property grounds are really lovely and the oceanfront views were spectacular. We knew going in that the room with the bunk beds would be a little tight for our group but didn’t realize how tight. We had two adults and three kids in there which left little room for the luggage. Location is great with a small strip of sandy beach in front of the property and lots of great restaurants nearby. Would definitely rent this condo again.

Great location and place for family trip! Place could've been a bit cleaner and sheets didn't seem fresh. Also the toilet seat was broken on one of the restrooms, which was a concern for my elderly parents. Otherwise, it was nice having a wash and dryer in unit. The view is amazing and such a short walk to the beach. Definitely recommend if you prefer not to stay at a resort.

This is one of the more updated 3 bedrooms available on VRBO, so we were happy to find a place to fit our family of 6 comfortably. It has a great view of the ocean. We saw a turtle right on the beach. It isn’t the best place to swim at low tide because it is so shallow with rocks, but my recommendation is enjoy the sounds of the ocean, the views, and the Sandy beach, but go swimming at another beach. So many great beaches not far for surfing, snorkeling, etc.
We found the security staff helpful and very friendly as well as the front desk. The pool and hot tub was nice and tennis courts and shuffle board were great!

This place had a room with 4 beds which was nice to throw the kids on there. The thing is there isn’t much room to put stuff/baggage’s/clothes in that room. As well as the AC is literally right in front of the bed and so it was blowing on the kids that were up there. We had to put them to nap other beds because of that. Also the beach has a lot of rocks so you can really swim there comfortably you will have to drive to a different beach if you can no rocks.
The fact that there wasn’t a dining table didn’t bother us, we enjoyed eating on the island.

We will definitely be coming back! The unit is beautiful, modern, clean and secure. We cam on a family vacAtion (5 adults) and had plenty of room to relax. The unit is well updated, clean and modern. The pool is well kept. The beach access is fantastic.

Loved the proximity to the beach and everything in town. Great location. The condo is great for a big family. Kids loved the bunk room. Pool was great. Only thing is the residents of the condos definitely make it less welcoming. Not pleasant people. And the condo was clean enough but definitely needed to be deep cleaned.

This Condo had it all! We loved it so much and would 100% stay there again! We watched whales right from the balcony every single night and morning! There was tons of space, it was clean and everything worked as advertised! Highly recommend!

This booking was obviously compared to others on sight recently remodeled and lovely. A few quirks but we felt at home. The complex seems to serve an older clientele which made us feel very safe with our teenagers running around the property. My senior mother in law was very thankful for the elevators and that there was so many restrooms. It was minutes away from lots of great food options and grocery stores which we were all thankful for.

Very nice unit in Kihei.
Spacious and open and awesome views of whales off porch. So cool. Loved the pool, but we were often scorned for having kids there. The older condo owners dislike the kids for being kids. Many were not nice to them. I would not return here if I brought children. (Although there were also many polite ones as well). Beach was not good for activities but pretty to sit on and watch sunsets. Location was nice because it was not as busy as other spots. Great spot if you’re older, you’d love it. With Kids, not so much. Unit itself was awesome!!

This place was exactly what was needed for two small families of four. The kids loved the bunk room and this place is right where we needed to be. It is right near the Kam beaches and being 30 minutes from Lahaina and Paia, made it ideal. From the pool to the ocean views to the staff at Maui Sunset, this trip was perfect. Whale sightings from the lanai were a common occurrence multiple times a day. It’s always great when there is never a need to contact the owner as there was never a reason. Thanks so much for a memorable stay. We will definitely be back!

Very nice condo on a beautiful property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The condo is well appointed and everything works. Comfortable beds. Early mornings on the lanai were so peaceful and the sunsets beautiful. Located near restaurants, groceries, and a great shaved ice hut, we could have enjoyed our vacation just staying close to the property. Would most definitely stay here again.

The staff at Maui Sunset were really nice. It was convenient to all the spots we were going to. Reasonably priced. Our family enjoyed the stay. The hosts were responsive. ABC store around the bend as well as the best Shaved Ice. The in unit laundry unit was handy to have so we had clean clothes on the way back. The hosts provided beach chairs, boogie board, kids sand toys, and stuff. The kids loved the bunk beds.

Was a great stay and would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to have a great time. Awesome views, close to shops, food, and beaches. Had everything we need to fit a group of 10. There was an issue with the A/C and was fixed within 24 hours which is a plus and was very easy to get in touch with Hannah who answered any questions we had in a timely manner. She’s awesome!

This place was really a great location from stores and places. But for all adults sharing a place wish one of the room that had the bunk beds, either to be stronger or have two single beds in that room would work even better. But other than that it's a great place.

Oceanfront view was beautiful, but unit not as clean as it should for the high cleaning fee. Towels were still in the dryer, bathroom towel rack was broken, toilet paper roll was broken, and a/c in master bedroom was not working. Two attempts to contact hosts failed, no response.

This 4th floor property with amazing views of south Maui is a great go-to get away in Kihei. We loved the location, access to beach and sea turtle viewing, as well as the pool and amenities offered. Huge kitchen and gathering room. Wonderful experience for 9 of us!

This is a beautiful unit in a beautiful location. It’s well taken care of, has plenty of space for two families of four with young children, and is even closer to the ocean than it looks in the pictures. We saw turtles coming up on the shore on a short evening walk down the beach!

The unit can accommodate 12 people, which is great, just would've liked to have had more towels provided and for those that are cooking and eating in would be nice to have more bowls and containers. Beds were comfortable. We would for sure rent this unit again.

We had a great time in Maui! Who wouldn’t? The property has definitely pros and cons.
Pros: no doubt that the views from the apartment are amazing! What a wonderful sunset! The apartment is big enough for two families. Everyone had their own space. The big kitchen island is perfect for family/group meals. The complex is well maintained and the pool and other services are nice. We enjoyed the garden and the common areas.
Cons: the apartment could have used a bit of a deeper clean-up. Specially the floors and some parts of the kitchen. Also, the washer and dryer broke the day before we arrived but we didn’t learn about it until we were at the airport. That was a problem as we were 2 families traveling with 5 little kids and we hadn’t pack enough clothes for a full week. It would have been useful to learn about it a bit earlier.
But it’s also fair to say that the price was very competitive compared to similar size properties in the area.

This is a very nice property in the northern section of Kihei. The outside of the condo doesn't look like much, but the condo itself is clean and modern and the view is just awesome. The condo is located at the end of the building near the ocean and has a large balcony, so you get pretty much uninterrupted views of the ocean. We even saw whales from our window (bring binoculars)! Parking and building access are easy. There are air conditioning units in each room. The master bedroom also has great views. There is sufficient cookware, coffee maker, blender, and toaster. There were also sufficient paper towels, toilet paper, and towels both for in house and beach use. There is a boogie board, beach chairs, and some beach toys available. There is a nice pool that the kids loved and a beach, although it is kind of a narrow beach and the water is not clear in that area, but it was still fun for the kids to play at. The location in northern Kihei is perfect for getting to the rest of the island pretty easily. It's also very close to Longs Drugs and a short drive to Ululani's and other great eating spots (Coconuts fish cafe and Da Kitchen). The only downside to the unit is that it has no washer/dryer, which would be very helpful when staying with children. Otherwise, we had a great stay and would definitely stay there again.

The property location is great and it is spacious and comfortable for a family. The complex itself has a nice pool, courtyard, and tennis courts surrounded by green laws that lead to the ocean/beachfront with great views. That part was nice. However, on the first day, while walking barefoot inside the condo, everyone ended up with very black feet. It appears that the floors have not been mopped in quite some time, yuck. This really made me question the cleanliness of the rest of the unit even though it appeared to be clean. We did see spiders and a few roaches in the unit. There was no washer or dryer which made it difficult to manage the bath and beach towels for the week. Then there were the beds. Oh my, the beds in two of the rooms were very uncomfortable and old with very large valleys in each. The bunk beds filled the room wall to wall and left no room for luggage or even walking between them. The bottom bunk was literally on the ground, which made it terribly uncomfortable to get in and out of bed. Those mattresses were as bad as a hide-a-bed couch where you could feel every spring and bed support. These were definitely not suitable for adults. Overall, we managed to enjoy our stay on the island, but we did not rest well at all.

This is a recently renovated unit but we were disappointed by the level of cleanliness. The bathroom floors had not been cleaned, there were long dark hairs all over. The kitchen counters, stove and refrigerator had residual food particles. I am so glad that I brought my Lysol wipes because I used the entire container. We also purchased additional cleaner to keep the unit clean during our stay. You could also tell that only the sheets were cleaned between guests stays. The top bed covers were musty.
We were happy to find some beach chairs , boards and a few toys left behind but there were no beach towels. This was very disappointing because I asked the owner this specific question as soon as I booked. They responded that the unit had beach towels - not the case.
The kitchen was fairly well stocked with necessary pots, pans, dishes and basic utensils. We did not do much cooking other than breakfast but it was nice to have the basics available.
The beds were fairly comfortable though the device used to convert 2 twin beds to a king did not work well and the sheets did not fit the beds well. They came off the mattress after a routine night’s sleep. Looks like they just need to purchase appropriate sizes sheets for all of the beds. The room with 2 full over full beds was, shall I say, interesting. It would have been nice not to cram as many beds into one space and instead offer dresser space for storage and unpacking. There were no luggage racks so our suitcases were all over the floor.
Overall we enjoyed our week in this unit but it could have been much more comfortable with a cleaner unit and more attention to details.
The owner was very responsive after I initially booked but did not respond at all to my message regarding cleanliness of the unit sent when we arrived. I guess they already had my money.

Finding accommodations for a family of 8 is a challenge. I was initially cautiously optimistic of this property .. any hesitations I had were quickly dispelled. This condo was perfect! Everyone had the perfect amount of space - from beds, bathrooms, kitchen/living seating, lanai. At no point did we feel like we were on top of each other. Icing on the cake is that the entire condo had been recently updated with more modern finishes.
In addition to the great condo space, the property grounds are very nice. Great pool, hot tub and tennis courts. And the location can't be beat. It was easy to get anywhere we needed to be. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Maui.

We had a lovely stay at this property with our big family. The newly renovated space is great for big groups, they have all the amenities in the unit to make it very convenient. The unit is on the 4th floor and the balconies face the ocean so the sunsets are incredible. The park and beach are attached to the property so it was very convenient. Kihei is very laid back and there are a ton of cool beaches walking distance/driving distance to check out so the location is perfect.
A few things that we wish we knew beforehand:
1) The unit is on the 4th floor and there is an elevator but if you have a lot of bags (like us) it may mean a few trips up and down
2) AC is not central but wall units in each room. Units can be a bit loud especially if it’s right next to your bed (like in one of the rooms)
3) The building is a bit older so cell signal and baby monitor signals don’t propagate very well. Our baby monitor kept losing signal even though we were just a room away and it barely reached us when we were in the living room. May not be an issue for most guests but if you plan on bringing a baby just plan out which room you want to make the baby room
4) The washer and dryer are incredibly loud, just make sure to time it so you don’t wake up others

The condo was cleaned where things “needed to be cleaned” but the floors were really dirty we even had to get a swifter and clean it ourselves. The bunk bed rooms remote was hard to find so we were in the dark for a little while since the remote was not where it should’ve been like in the other rooms. There was blood stains on a pillow and comforter. Just a little icky and didn’t come out even after we rewashed. The washing machine sounds like a tornado whenever you use it and the pool was under maintenance while we were there and we only found out a few days before the trip so that sucked too. Overall not the worst, but would not stay again.

The view from the patio was perfect! The grounds were great. There is beach access just across the complex grounds tennis courts, pool etc. The beach is sand but walks out onto Coral so bring some water shoes. Multiple grocery stores and restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive. We had a toddler and baby and it worked great for us. Wash and dryer in the unit and basic necessities to cook. Seems like there is mix of vacationers and residents in the complex. Overall quiet and a really nice place.

The property was great- pool and beach just steps away. Views from the lanai were absolutely fantastic! Beds are very comfortable with plenty of towels, beach towels, beach chairs, some floaties and snorkels. We were able to cook all of our meals in the spacious kitchen with seating for 8-10 around the island. The owners respond quickly to answer any questions. Kihei location was great for easy access to all of Maui. Highly recommend this condo!

Superb location just North of Azeka Mall...Pi'ilani is close for the food truck POD and Safeway, Cold Stone, Starbucks, Jamba, Maui Built, etc... and just South of the best shave ice on Maui with Ululani's!
Very well apportioned condo -- the 3 full bathrooms is a huge bonus and the unit does have a washer and dryer, which we did not see mentioned in the ad. The recent remodel was done well - good choice of flooring, nice cabinets, plenty of space for a larger group....and did I mention the location of the condo in relation to the property? 4th floor, closest to the ocean, fantastic panoramic views!
The condo also comes equipped with ocean toys like boogie boards and beach chairs. The grounds include a very nice pool, bbqs, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, a putting green....you can check out pickleball gear and play pickleball on the tennis courts even.
Communication with the owner was great! Very easy check-in process! Highly recommend!

We had 9 of us staying in this condo for a full 7 days. It was stunningly beautiful and exactly as pictured. It is on the end so you have a great lanai that allows you views of both the pool and beach. Everything is easily walkable and checking in was a breeze. I read other reviews about the front desk lady but she was fine for us. We didn’t really attempt to interact with any of the other residents so I can’t say any of them were overly friendly or not. The air conditioning and ceiling fans kept it cool and fresh feeling which is much appreciated after a long day in the sun,
But there’s a few things I wished we knew ahead of time:
There is an elevator! Don’t carry your luggage up 4 flights of stairs like we did.
There’s a trash chute! It’s a little ways past the elevator and is way more convenient then trekking all the way to the dumpsters.
The condo is not stocked! Obviously, they aren't responsible for supplying everything but we had to buy toilet paper, seasonings, condiments, etc. Things that are typically provided.
The beach is disappointing. It’s so rocky, we didn’t even really swim in it. Also it is shallow and with the amount of rocks, it’s pretty easy to get hurt. If you’re looking for a kid friendly beach, this is NOT it.
The condo does have some beach stuff so double checking before renting a bunch of stuff. It had chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and a few pairs of googles.
Overall, we LOVED staying at this location and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Especially knowing everything we learned throughout the week.

We really enjoyed the property! The space was perfect for us, it was clean and had everything we needed. The property was beautiful and well-maintained. Our only issue was that we arrived on a Friday evening after office hours, and there was no way to gain pool access or a parking permit until Monday when the office opened. That is a big issue that should be fixed for this otherwise great place to stay.

Full time residents are mostly older, half very polite and helpful other half grumpy towards visitors. Lady in the office I dealt with twice does not have aloha! Overall the property was nice and spacious and in a great central location to all things we did on island. The condo had everything needed for an enjoyable stay and amazing views right on the water. Also note check-in is not until 4pm and the office closes at 5pm so small window to get pool key the first day! I literally walked up at 5:01 as the office lady was leaving (still in the building) and she got rude and told me to come back tomorrow. It opens at 9am but we were headed out to Road to Hana all day the next day so we would miss the hours open again, thankfully the very accommodating security guard helped us get the pool key the first night and took a mental note of our rental jeeps in the parking lot (which took all of 2 min of his time) without him we would of been 2 days of our trip without access to the pool in the evening. By day 3 we officially checked in, front office lady did not like that! There needs to be a better set up to get the pool key after hours but overall a great updated condo to stay at.
