I love everything about this place, everything is close the pool, tennis courts and of course the beach, you can wake up early and walk to the beach and see the sunrise or the sunset and if you go early you will get to see the turtles.

We have stayed in many units at Maui Sunset and this is by far our favorite. It is nicely remodeled with an open kitchen and plenty of seating. The rooms are laid out nicely with space for couples and kiddos. It is an end unit away from the public park adding to privacy and quiet. Booking, check in and check out were easy. We look forward to returning.

We enjoyed our time immensely in this condo. We could see whales from the lanai with binoculars. The Condo has 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, one with a hall bathroom. One of the rooms has two sets of double size bunk beds. The bottom bunks are very low to the ground so my 40 something and 50 something friends, chose the top bunks. They both stated the beds were comfortable.
Parking is free and we were able to find parking somewhere each time we arrived. The parking spaces are a bit tight.
Location is excellent. You can walk out to the grounds from the Lanai. It's nice to eat outside.
We had a problem with our water heater. The owners immediately responded and got someone out to replace it. I was impressed at how fast they responded.
Overall a great, spacious condo. Everyone enjoyed their stay and would be very willing to return.

Great location. Love the first floor walkout to the pool/ocean/everything!! Accommodations were as advertised and other people staying here were very friendly. Opportunities….check in process was tough as we were on the move 9-5. 1. The after hours and security folks seemed anxious to help but didn’t deliver right away. 2. Leave a little extra toilet paper. You don’t have to clear out Costco or anything but a couple extra rolls would go a ways. 3. Island center bottom drawer isn’t seated properly to the actual glides and just falls out when pulled out.
We had great weather and fantastic adventures. Now we’re off to Kaui!!

We loved our stay in this condo. Such a great location with a huge kitchen and lovely ground level patio. The hot water tank alarm went off during our stay and owners promptly got help. Kitchen was quite well stocked for cooking - only missing a large frying pan.

Overall a great place to stay. There were some minor issues such as the hot water heater beeping when using the washing machine, towel racks and shower curtain rods falling down, and shower curtains not reaching the floor. But overall, a nice place to stay. Right on the beach and very nicely maintained grounds. Only 0.5mile from shops and restaurants and about 1.5miles from downtown Kihei. Great location.

Took 4 friends for a girls getaway. House was steps from the beach with a wonderful view of the sunset every night. We were all up early to walk the beach and have coffee on the porch.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The owners were very responsive and made coordination of our stay very easy. The condo was very clean and all amenities were easily accessible. The location on the ground floor made for a very pleasurable stay for our multi-generational family. We loved how close the beach and resort amenities (pool, tennis courts etc) and the beach were. We will absolutely be returning for our next Maui vacation!

Overall, we enjoyed our time here. The only complaint I have is that the cons in previous reviews were not addressed prior to our stay. We could not get the fan to work in the bedroom with the bunks, there were a couple drawers in the kitchen that were broken, and the refrigerator/ freezer would not cool. I did notify the property manager via text as per the instructions in the folder found in the condo. They responded promptly but via message on my email which I did not check regularly on vacation so the issue with the refrigerator was not addressed during our stay. They did offer to reimburse for lost perishables though.

Coworkers and I shared the property for empanadas extension for a work trip. The property location was great with easy access to the beach. The first floor made it convenient for our luggage. The instructions lacked locking the door procedures. But overal, we enjoyed our stay.

Yes, the property was a little "dated", it also was wonderful to step outside our door, walk to the beach, or to the pool or hang out on the grass.
The beach was a bit "rough" but not unusually so. We found swimming beaches nearby, the sunsets were amazing and the walks on the beach in the morning could not be beaten.
We had a toddler and young children who could safely run all over the grass and were easy to supervise and be safe. We traveled several places on the island and it was easy to get around and was a quick trip almost anywhere.

Great location in north end of Kihei. The beach out front is not for swimming but there are tons of great beaches a short drive away. Tennis court right out front, great sunsets and shockingly quiet for a first floor unit. We never heard the people above us. Pool is adequate but we didn’t use it much as it was windy every afternoon so we used the mornings to snorkel and boogie board in Wailea. Each room has a AC unit and fans. They all worked. The only thing broken was the WiFi which was frustrating. Owner was responsive, someone came to work on it for an hour from the property office but couldn’t get it working. We took it as a signal to unplug and used a hotspot for an urgent work meeting… the other option was to call the internet service provider customer service but we opted to let it go instead. Plenty of towels and extra sheets. Basically as advertised. Needs some paint I. Places but that is expected with the age of the complex.

Super convenient location as you are on the first floor and easy access to pool and ocean as well as the parking lot. The towels could have been more premium and more of them. Also the TV setup and cable were not straight forward and didn’t work as expected.

Property was not anything like the pictures or description. Sand in some beds(which were hard as a rock). We tried to contact owner and never got a response. Paint is peeling and trim is stained and dirty. This place is far from what the pics make you in-vision. The beach pic is definitely not the same beach as the one which is walking distance is virtually unswimmable. Rocks and debris everywhere. Location is great however but unit is neglected.

Three couples were in our group and we all found the condo to be perfect for what we needed. There were a couple of issues, remote control to lights/fan in two of the bedrooms didn't work properly and there was only one useable beach chair. But we contacted the owner and the issues were taken care of quickly. The tennis court does obstruct the view of the ocean from the condo, but it was just a few steps to get around the court. The beach here is very rocky, but good for walks and whale watching. Restaurants, food trucks, grocery stores and a good beach to swim and snorkel at was close by. We'd definitely go back to Maui Sunset!

The Good!
- Location is amazing. Walking out from the Lanai to watch the sunset was perfect. We could see whales spouting and breaching from the beach.
- Kihei is great, we really enjoyed the shops, restaurants, and food trucks just up the road
- Hosts were very responsive and helpful - very easy to work with
- The place was plenty big enough for out large group
The not so good :(
- The condo was not as nice or clean as I was hoping. It was not bad, jut not what I had hoped for
- The complex security guard was a jerk. I'm trying to think of a nicer way to put it, but can't. Every time we talked to him he made us feel unwelcome
The other:
- The other guests/residents were not very friendly. I don't think I am imagining it, but the (older) residents treated us like we shouldn't be there. I have stayed other places in Hawaii and felt the Aloha, but that was not the case here. This is not a criticism of the hosts, but I would not stay here again (especially with kids) because of this. Our group consisted of 6 adults and 4 kids from 2-13. We are (in my biased opinion) a pretty quiet and well behaved group.

This first floor location provides easy access to the pool, beach and park. The lawn is an extension of the patio, providing an outdoor space for your family to enjoy and kids to play, a feature unmatched by units on upper floors. Activity desk at the pool and live music Wednesdays. Beautiful view of the ocean, Lanai and West Maui Mountains!

We have stayed at lots of rental properties over the years. This unit is a nicely located condo with easy access to the pool and beach with beautiful Maui sunsets and turtles on the beach. The problems we had with check in stemmed from a lack of information provided by the owner before we checked in. We navigated to the address given only to be sent to a different complex and we were not given a name of the complex so when we arrived delayed by Southwest Airlines at 2am we tried to use the directions to enter a condo which wasn’t our Vrbo property! We had to figure this out on our own because the owner didn’t answer our phone call at the time. Through satellite images we figured out where we needed to go based on the pool shape which was a quarter mile away! Once we found the actual condo it looked as described online with the exception of one of the drawer fronts ripped off a drawer in the kitchen and a dented up fridge. When we communicated our experience with the owner I was told it was basically all my fault and no one ever had the address take them to another complex and the state of the kitchen was just what you get with a highly rented property. I do not find it acceptable that an owner should not care that the directions given were not clear enough to safely get guests to the unit and that there wasn’t any communication about the repairs being addressed. Do better for your next guests and include the property name as the condo itself was in a lovely and fun location.

This place had everything we needed for a wonderful week stay in Maui. Kitchen was huge, the couches had pull-out sections that allowed us to put our feet up and fit a lot of people, the rooms were great and clean. Loved the pool and hottub, and having a beautiful beach so close. The sunsets were amazing!

We loved our time in Kihei at the Maui Sunset Condos. The ground floor condo made it so easy to go outside to watch the sunset, play tennis or just enjoy the beautiful lawn/patio to sit and chat. The pool was also very nice and a good size. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. Overall we really enjoyed our experience.

So there are things about this that we all really liked. The master bedroom is nice and spacious with a good bed and bathroom. The kitchen area is nice (has some supplies for cooking, but not a ton), good area to sit at the island, and fridge was perfect for us. Location is really good, looking out to the ocean with a small beach there. Short drive or decent walk to a lot of restaurants. The pool is a lot of fun and perfect for young children. It was a good home base for us in Maui.
There were a few things we didn't love.
- the dishwasher has been on it's last legs for a while
- the bunk beds are not the most comfortable
- there were ants in the place from the moment we arrived and the owners told us to buy bug spray.
- annoying, but not a huge problem, the lights and fans were on a weird remote system that sometimes affected other rooms.
- they were not accommodating at all about the check out time...10 AM with red eye flights is difficult. of course that was known from the beginning so you can make an argument that it was up to us.

So excited about going to celebrate with the family college graduations with my nieces and my daughters, We planed this for a long time. When we arrived loved the location all you have to do is walk across park grass to the beach. It's when we go in to the condo: Swamp Cooler in Kitchen leaked water onto counters and floors so we had to use towels and clean daily. Dryer did not work first 4 days, they did send a repair person to fix . water heater leaked and the water was coming up under the floor in the hallway and one of the bathrooms, we used more towel to keep it dry and tried not to use to much water so that the water heater would not leak. Dishwasher upper rack did not work when you pulled it out it dropped off. As far as saying it had everything you need in the kitchen that is also a stretch. lets just finish with it is in a wonderful complex with a great view and location. If only it was clean and you didn't have to spend time fixing everything.

Great location. Nice being on floor level, especially with two little ones. Roomy enough for 9 adults. However, the one bedroom with the two bunkbeds was very crowded. Would not suit couples sleeping in there. Overall, it worked very well for us.

First floor, ocean side makes this the perfect location for a family vacation. Kids could come and go and had a great area to play. Pool and beach area was perfect. The unit itself is minimally stocked so don’t plan on having what you need to cook a meal. Owners never notified us that dishwasher and garbage disposal wasn’t working. Sliding door would not open. Freezer door likewise. Owners were notified but nothing was done. All in all a great vacation.
