This 334-square-foot studio has a queen bed and is perfect for one or two people. There are two elevators to service the building; we're on the ninth floor and there are only six units per floor.
Though it is on the smallish side, it is very comfortable and has everything you need for your stay in paradise. It features an ocean view lanai, a new air conditioner, a fully furnished kitchen with granite counters, free WIFI, broadband internet, flat-screen TV with cable, all linens and towels, a microwave, toaster, hair dryer, and coffee maker.
Because the condo faces the northwest it does not get blasted by the sun during the day and usually provides a comfortable temperature. The unit has air conditioning when needed. If you have a late night on the town, you'll appreciate the new room-darkening drapes when you want to sleep late the next day; or for a nice siesta after a morning at the beach and a relaxing lunch.
Honolulu has the best weather on the planet! We get lots of sun and our average daily temperature only varies slightly (nine degrees F, 5 degrees C) between Summer and Winter. (NOTE: the lava flow is on a totally different island hundreds of miles away from this property).
It is a great location for those that love the outdoors. The beach is across the street where you can surf, boogie board, swim; the lovely Kapiolani Park is nearby and a great place to walk, run and even hike up Diamond Head! And if that is not enough for you, there is a 24-Hour Fitness around the corner. It is also the perfect location if laying on the beach is your form of exercise!
We have a Walk Score of 88 and the only reason it isn't higher is that they factor in school. A rental car is not needed because everything is so close. However, if you choose to visit places that are not within walking distance, the Honolulu bus service is a 5-minute walk; or maybe you'll decide to rent a sports car or motorcycle from across the street! Many car rental companies are available in the area, too. There is limited parking at the building; the majority of guests do not use a car and parking is not included in the rent. Public parking is available in the neighborhood.
The Seashore building is not fancy; it does not have a front desk, no waterfalls, and no valet parking. However, it is very close to the beach. Some of the Beach Boys that work at the surf rental/lesson places on Waikiki Beach live in the building. Do not be surprised if you see sandy footprints in the elevators! There is a surf shop on the ground floor, and another right next door (along with a Mexican restaurant and a local restaurant) so there are usually people without shirts and shoes hanging around or working at the surf shop. So, if you are uncomfortable around surfers then another building would be better.
Our unit is a great home base for exploring the island. Diamond Head, Honolulu Zoo, Honolulu Aquarium, Pearl Harbor, Chinatown, the big waves on the North Shore, Polynesian Cultural Center, Kailua, world class golf courses and more are all easily accessible.
Whether you want to simply relax or see everything Honolulu has to offer, this is a great place to stay!
