Nice condo right on the beach. Ocean view from every room with 2 balconies. Located central to explore the whole island. Pool and hottub to relax at the end of day. Will come again!

My husband and our two kids (ages 10+12) stayed before Christmas 2023. We arrived very late at night and, gratefully, the check-in was smooth. Even though the kitchen supplies were a little mismatched, the kitchen had everything we needed (except a cutting board, couldn’t find one of those!). The kids loved the pool area and there was always a lot of parking available. We’ve been on several holidays with vacation rentals and agreed that the beds here were among the most comfortable. It was a great place to start our Maui adventures each day then perfect to come back to the pool together in the evening.

Adequate. Fine place to hang your hat while not out touring the island! Beautifull full ocean view! Accomodations could certainly stand upgrading. Couch was broken down. Sat in a hole on one end. Property mgr was most helpful with late checkout & rectifying inadvertant lockout issue. Also quickly responded to air conditioner failure but couldn't resolve the issue during our stay. Complex quite lovely. Didn't use pool or spa though.

Needs painting, better cleaning. Furniture and carpet are dirty. Glider rocker is broken and stained as are outside cushions. Room not clean properly. You can see where people’s dirty hands opened doors etc - not clean. Property manager called after I emailed but wanted to send someone to clean carpet and fix rocker while we were there. Unacceptable. These things should have been done before we even were rented to. The entire place needs painting. And there was an ant issue. Seemed that ants were coming up from kitchen sink and crawling all over counters. I didn’t even call manager back because I felt I would get same response. I didn’t come here on vacation to have to sit and wait to have things repaired/addressed. I do understand things happen sometimes during your stay but these things should all have been taken care of ahead of time. If property manager is on top of things. It is an older place but could be really nice if up kept. The view is beautiful.

We loved staying here. The location makes it super easy to tour all over south Maui. We only used “our” beach out front for sunrise and sunset walks but the location was perfect for those. And the views from the lanai were ideal. Loves it alll. Thank you for the stay.

We could not be more pleased! Everything was as advertised or better. We didn’t realize when we booked that the unit actually had two bathrooms, and had a pull out sofa, so our teenagers had tons of space and didn’t have to share a room. The kitchen came with everything we needed and more. Coffee pot, blender, ice trays, cutting boards, etc. it was not mentioned in the listing, but the closets were stocked with all kinds of beach and water gear, even four beach chairs and snorkeling equipment. Plus an umbrella, beach towels, even some sunscreen and aloe! Maybe not all units are stocked this way so probably hard to guarantee, but ours had everything and made beach days easy. View was wonderful, location was great. We would book again in a heartbeat! Thank you for a great vacation! Mahalo!

Excellent beachfront location in a quieter section of Kihei. Wonderful views of the Ocean, mountains and sunset. The beach is narrow and not great for swimming, but fine for getting your feet wet. The unit was clean, comfortably furnished and the kitchen well equipped. No laundry in the unit, but coin operated laundry available in the building. Pool was quite small. Many bbq grills were available in the pool area. Will definitely recommend this place.

Excellent condo in a great location. Check in was very smooth and everything we needed was there. Lost one star as aircon wasn’t working when we arrived but we really didn’t need it and it was fixed before we left.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Great location! Great view! Ocean front. Peaceful and quiet. The apartment's layout was very nice and worked well for us. 2 bedrooms with 2 separate bathrooms. Kitchen is well equipped, lots of utensils, plates, mugs, glasses. We could not complain. Beach equipment was also provided, although a little bit run down. Plenty of towels, hair dryer. AC was not working at that time, though. They were waiting for the parts to come in. They notified us about that and offered to reimburse us for inconvenience of not having AC during our stay. which was fair. Also, the apartment is really outdated and needs fixing. Couch, chairs are not very clean, visible stains. Drapes with holes. Overall, this is a very nice apartment but needs refreshing.

This place had some amazing sunsets, but the air conditioner did not work the entire week we were there. We were compensated for no air conditioning. Unit is outdated, could use a facelift. Upon arriving Maps took us the first building, but the unit is in the second building and it did not state that on our Check-in sheet. A kind lady pointed us in the correct direction.

The pluses are many and they are great pluses: you wake up every morning and walk out onto one of two lanais to be greeted by the sun glistened pacific ocean and you are lulled to sleep by the peaceful sound of the waves. the place is spacious. I love the master bedroom.
The minuses are pretty fixable. As others have noted, the place is pretty dated. The toilet/shower area in the master is pretty small. And to me the biggest drawback is the way the kitchen is stocked: Imagine someone arriving to a garage sale late and grabbing whatever kitchen tools they can and you have a good idea of what to expect when you open the cupboards there. VRBO kitchens are hit-or-miss. If you like to do any cooking in your rental, you know how important it is that it is a hit. I'm a chef, and I have to say, this one misses. It would be easy to upgrade.
Overall, we woud certainly stay here again

This Property is in a great location and the ocean front views were awesome. Quiet property with a nice pool and hot tub. Convent for exploring all of the island. The beach in front is a little rocky for swimming but we did see a turtle while we’re out there.

Property is very quiet, lots of families with kids. Condo has lovely ocean view. Well equipped with beach stuff and chairs. Kitchen is adequate. Easy walk in to town, but lack of sidewalks makes for a scary walk back in the dark. No issues with parking. No construction noise heard.

This condo fit perfectly for our family! The beach supplies were awesome and were such a nice help. The view from the lanai is absolutely amazing, it is truly an ocean view place. With not only 1 but 2 lanais was a surprise! The ocean/ beach area on this property is not so great for swimming but there are nice beaches close by!! I would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay in Kihei at Kauhale Makai! Close to beach, restaurants, and short drive to many other sights. We even walked to the Swap Meat and Shave ice. Every day we ate breakfast on the lanai, enjoying the beach view and sounds of birds and waves. When we had a concern about the AC, the property manager answered promptly. Beach chairs, boogy board, and snorkel were provided in the closet for beach time fun. Kitchen was well stocked with pans, Tupperware, and glasses for happy hour while watching the sunsets. This is an older property that provided a clean and comfortable stay for our family. Enjoying the sunset from the lanai was a highlight for our trip! The management team handled a few minor issues quickly (coffee maker not too working and smoke alarm battery chirping).

Exceptional location. Great views. Good property facilities (pool/hot tub/grills/tables), very nicely manicured, though a few maintenance issues (broken outdoor showers near pool). Well-stocked apartment. Good entertainment options. Reasonably high-bandwidth WiFi (20Mbps down), though fairly high latency (Hawaii-style). Apartment could use a decorator, new paint, fixtures (especially lighting in kitchen/dining area).
Construction noise/debris during mid-late Nov 2020 was awful (the apartment block looked like something out of New Jack City the evening we first entered, with boarded up doors and holes in the walls), but that's transient. When the construction is over, I would definitely consider a return visit.
~30 min drive to Ho'okipa for some solid waves during the Winter season. ~2.5h to Hana (leave early and do the loop in reverse).
