We loved everything about this place! Adults loved the pool as much as the kids did. Location was great, we had nonstop fun - I think we did everything the island had to offer. House could not have been more perfect for our family of eleven. Would love to do it all again!

You are paying for the view-which is beautiful! The house size was great for our party of 11. The patio doors would not slide, so we had to use the side door. ALL of the doors had gaps around them, and we were constantly getting mosquito bites and there were a lot of mosquitos! The a/c in the main floor bedroom was not effective and smelled musty. The media room's TV did not work. I did not contact the manager about the a/c or tv so I cannot say it would or would not have been fixed. Didn't want people coming in with all out stuff there!I did contact the office when we ran out of propane over the weekend, so the oven and clothes dryer didn't work. They arrived quickly and hooked up the tank from the gas grill so we could use the oven. We did not receive propane until Monday afternoon, so the laundry did pile up. The propane issue was the only contact we had with the company. However, that was resolved. The house is in desperate need of a good cleaning and several simple maintenance fixes!I did mention these to the gentleman when he was there about the propane, he was aware, said they had been trying to get doors for several months. The house is advertised as having a/c in the bedrooms and media room - this is true; however, the remainder of the home was unbearably hot!We made it work and had a good family vacation!I usually do not do reviews, but the amount of was a lot for the condition of the house. The pool was great and the view amazing!

The property is represented well in the advertisement. It is pricey, the views did not disappoint. Only negative was the check out process. Departure time is a little to early at 10 am, its hard to even enjoy a breakfast with trying to rush around and get everyone out by 10. For the price the check out process asked us to start laundry of towels which i was only able to start 1 batch. Other than that the place is wonderful. Thank you

Our family celebration was perfect at this beautiful oceanside home. Very comfortable and well-equipped. We hired a private chef one evening and he commented that rental properties rarely are this well stocked. It’s close to town but far away enough to be peaceful and secluded. We could not have asked for a better place to experience Hawaii. Mahalo!

TL;DR: 10/10 would stay again I’m still in shock over how amazing this property is! The view of the ocean is UNBELIEVABLE! We could go out and look at tide pools and see turtles right outside the house. We even saw a pod of dolphins swim by one morning! It has EVERYTHING you need for a beach day (towels, chairs, boogie boards, snorkels, goggles, sand toys, coolers, fishing rods, floaties, sunscreen etc.) A quick walk down to the kids beach -PERFECT for our family (kids 5-7-9 yo) Not crowded. Kitchen is well equipped. Pantry had olive oil, spices, vinegar, sugar, flour, and tea. Enough trash bags and laundry pods to get us through our week long stay. The layout worked really well for us but might be awkward depending on who you’re traveling with. The pool was just a little colder than I would like it but the kids didn’t care! A/C is all in the bedrooms, the main living space downstairs doesn’t have AC but you can get a nice breeze from outside. Not too hot unless we had stuff in the oven cooking. The propane tanks for the grill were empty when we arrived but the management company replaced them in just a few hours.) There are some baseball fields very close to the house -we noticed big lights music and announcements but it wasn’t enough to keep us up.

Stunning views of ocean and pool, sunsets and volcanic rock. Large house that worked well for our 10 person family for a reunion. Some maintenance issues with screen doors that don’t work well and property is showing some wear and tear; overall fine. You are paying for an amazing view with tide pools and a small beach for snorkeling nearby.

Kona Blue was the perfect location for our party of 8, gathering from across the country to celebrate my mother-in-law’s 80th birthday. We had specific needs for a home given the size of our group & Mom’s mobility needs & Kona Blue fit the bill. There were plenty of spaces for us to spread out & not be on top of each other & the downstairs suite was perfect for Mom. When she became ill, she was able to isolate but still enjoy the ocean view as well as easy access to the lanai & talk with us through the screens. Communication with the rental company was wonderful & they were very responsive to my questions & requests before & during our stay. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars for the listing is because I felt the description was a little confusing in terms of how many rooms & the layout - there are 3 rooms over the garage with a bathroom & living room, the downstairs suite, a half bath downstairs & an amazingly large master suite upstairs. Definitely recommend Kona Blue, especially if you have a large group.

We had a group of 11 (6 adults, 5 children) at Kona Blue for 6 days/nights. It was a summer family vacation for 3 generations. Bedrooms were very adequate, glad they had AC. The pool was a big hit with the kids and the size of the very well equipped kitchen was a hit with the adults. We really appreciated the labels in locating kitchen items, the surplus of beach towels, the ceiling fans, the size of the dining tables, and all the supplies that lasted us all 6 days (toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher pods, shampoo, bar soap, hand soap, towels, spices, plastic wrap left behind, etc.) Lack of AC in the public areas was evident in the summer temps. and high humidity. We recommend some drying racks for wet suits and towels and more towel bars/rings in the bathrooms. Also, maintenance should come through more often to check for minor repairs...sticky door/screens, toilets running longer than they should, etc. We had a wonderful time at Kona Blue!

The location was perfect! To be on the lanai and see the ocean every day was a dream! The pool was loved by the grand children! Proximity to everything a family of 12 wanted to do was great. The house was well equipped with all we needed and more. The only disappointment was the sliding screen doors were so stiff they were hard to manage, and with 12 we used them all day. We thought the lower bedroom air conditioner smelled musty.

The house is situated in a beautiful, quiet, gated community within the busy town of Kona. The house over looks the ocean where you can view whales and dolphins during the day and see beautiful sunsets in the evening. The property was clean and overall, well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals. For families traveling with children, the house was equipped with bedding, toys, beach equipment. Some minor repairs are needed due to normal wear and tear. The bedroom situation could be enhanced if there was a pull out couch in the upstairs family room. The additional day bed and pull out couch in master bedroom did provide additional sleeping areas but also took away from privacy if desired. The shared bathroom upstairs was somewhat small for the 3 bedrooms which it supported so the master bathroom in the upstairs master bedroom (which was absolutely beautiful and very large) was often used for overflow . I would definitely recommend this house for those wishing to stay within the Kona area.

We enjoyed our stay at Kona Blue and loved the ability to walk to downtown Kailua-Kona. We saw whales daily from the comfort of the back patio. Hope to return again!

We just returned and everyone had a great time. We were three families and everyone had their own space. The kids enjoyed exploring in the backyard on the lava rocks. There was also a small sandy beach close by that the 7 and 10 year old enjoyed. The sunsets were fantastic. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio with our coffee in the mornings and soaking in the view. It was a great place for the whole family to reconnect.

Three families joined together in the beautiful and spacious house. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the house is perfectly located for quick runs into Kailu-Kona, as well as longer drives across the island to sites near Hilo. The children and adults in the group loved the pool and the easy proximity to the tidepools that are formed in the lava rock behind the poperty as well as the larger Keiki Ponds that are walking distance to the house. There is also a small sand beach walking distance to the property. The property management team was communicative and friendly as well. We would all rent this house again.

Beautiful property, amazing views but the online pictures were a little deceiving regarding the "age" of the property. Some of the beds were uncomfortable, paint was peeling off throughout out the home. Ants were everywhere, evident by the amount of ant traps located in the house, including on the couch. We knew we would encounter ants but did not realize to what extent.

This was a fantastic place for three generations to gather, enjoy the pool, watch the sunsets, cook meals in the HUGE kitchen, spend time reading, and as a launching point for the island. Home is STOCKED with everything a family could want - tons of beach towels, a full cabinet of beach toys and umbrellas and chairs, and kitchen is well stocked. Home is tidy but not too modern (tiled countertops vs granite, for example) which was perfect for us. And the VIEWS!! It was amazing to cook dinner most nights with the extended family and watch the sunset and hear the crashing waves. A short walk away is a really nice extra-large tidepool (we saw fish and a turtle) for swimming with sand "the keiki pools". No walking to boogie boarding or surfing. Property management - Elite Pacific - was EXCELLENT and I would definitely book with them again. Example - garbage bins were full and they addressed it right away, inc other small maintenance items. Room configuration - one extra large master suite complete with living room and huge bath, another en suite master with ocean views on first floor, and three bedrooms at the back. This worked well for the 3 generations but may not be as great for three-four couples traveling together who all want the views. We loved the Kona Blue - great house in great locations with views to die for, a nice pool, well stocked with everything needed for an island vacation, and excellent property management.

We stayed two glorious weeks at the Kona blue house. It was all we had hoped it would be and a wonderful place for a family gathering with many activities at your fingertips. The weather was beautiful and the sunsets every evening are over the top. Every evening we sat out and enjoyed dinner outside and watch the sunset. The house was well stocked and clean.

Having been to the big island multiple times we were excited to stay in a home like this. It easily accommodated 10 people. The kids could walk each day to keiki ponds and swim with ease if the gorgeous pool wasn’t enough. The home was stocked with games and all the necessary items needed for a trip like this. Boogie boards and goggles and snorkels and beach chairs galore. Would love to come back to this place. Quick 3 min drive right into town for great dinners and hangs. We even found a beautiful Little Cliff jump into the ocean right in front. We are all ocean friendly and swimmers so if you aren’t this way maybe don’t do it! Especially if the tide is working. Sunsets out front were as good as any I have seen…still waiting for that perfect green flash though. 10/10 experience and easily defeats staying at a big resort! Thanks for everything. Shoots.

Overall an okay experience with the house. Nagging items related to such things as running out of gas for the grill despite our not using much; property management could certainly use improvement in speed of communication; lots of foot traffic across the back yard…it’s a public beach and cannot access ocean fr there so don’t assume from photos. Could use another full bath to support but we made it work. There definitely was no access to boards or sporting equipment so not sure why that is in the ad. Maid service was requested during the stay and was told to call when we arrived, then when we did it was days before we could get it arranged and again, property management issue they should resolve. If looking to accommodate a large group the house does that and pool and back are are very comfortable with a great view. Security was very good and great job providing all you will need in the kitchen with great care in labeling cabinets. Convenient to town.
