Conveniently located near downtown Kailua-Kona, you'll love exploring the area and its many significant Hawaiian cultural landmarks. Both the Hulihee Palace and the Mokuaikaua Church are located on Ali'i Drive. King Kamehameha I spent his last years living near the current site of what is now the King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel, until his passing in 1819. The Ahu'ena Heiau, located on the grounds of the hotel, is a reconstructed temple rebuilt by the late king and is on the register of National Historic Landmarks.

People-watch—and cruise ship-watch—from the Kailua-Kona Pier, where you'll have access to Hawaii's best scuba diving, big-game fishing, kayaking, and dolphin and whale watching. Visit the famous farmers market. Enjoy a shave ice or a cup of Kona coffee. Dine on a light snack or a gourmet meal, buy an inexpensive souvenir or a piece of fine art, book an activity, go for a swim or hang out at the beach. The pier is the official starting and finishing point of the Ironman World Championship (held annually in October), and a great place to watch the sunset. Everything you want and need is readily available in the heart of Kailua-Kona town. Hale Aikane is the perfect home base to explore a variety of Big Island sites and activities, such as Volcanoes National Park, Mauna Kea Observatory and so much more.

***Please note that this property is not equipped with air conditioning. It does however feature excellent ventilation with ceiling fans throughout.***

The house was so clean and well equipped, making for such an easy vacation. The pool was a wonderful treat after adventuring all day! So many windows made for a comforting breeze at night and allowed us to fall asleep to frogs and wake up to roosters. We didn't miss a/c at all. Thanks for letting us borrow your amazing place!

This stay was perfect for our family. There were 6 of us staying and the house and pool was amazing. Be ware that there isn't any air conditioning. I totally overlooked that. However, the fans and multiples doors with screens make it easy to create some extra air flow. Very close to Kona and so quiet.

Wonderful house, perfect for grandparents, and family with children. Very comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen for cooking family meals. We loved sitting outside on the lanai, enjoying the fantastic sunsets. Also located in a lovely area, off the tourist track a bit but close enough to access all the sights. We will be back!

Accommodating property manager allowed us to move our 2020 reservation to 2021 when Hawaii shut down during the Covid pandemic. So glad we did this as this Kona home was well worth waiting for. The house has every amenity to be found not only in a vacation rental but also in staying at a friend's home. The kitchen is a dream with every pot, pan, dish, serving plate, utensil one could ask for. Lots of room for the 6 of us adults to move around in. All 3 bedrooms are comfortable although we spent little time on them as the covered lanai and pool are the draw. Area around the house is a quiet paradise, a bit too hilly for us seniors' morning walks. A car is needed to get to any stores or island attractions.

We are locals, live on the Island, it was an awesome stay, we enjoyed ourselves and so did the kids. Pool was great, only down fall- the flooring of the pool did cut up the kids toes a little(made them raw). The water got warm, it was never hot. We did have to run the showers and sinks for about 3-5 minutes before getting any warm water. In all, we did enjoy our stay and had lots of fun!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Home is exactly as described in the photos. The owners have provided everything you could need for a comfortable stay just a short 10 minute drive away from the tourism madness of town. Spacious kitchen was lacking for nothing and the management company was extremely responsive to one minor detail we requested. We particularly appreciated the coolers, beach chairs and beach towels to complete our vacation on the Big Island.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The photos and descriptions don't do this home justice. The living areas are huge, the kitchen is beautiful and high quality, and FULLY stocked. There was everything we needed all organized so beautifully. From simple dishes and cutlery to wine glasses and every spice you could need, an entire cupboard of small appliances including a popcorn maker, coffee grinder, knife sharpener and much more. There were ziplock bags and wrap as well as a couple coolers to take our lunch with us. The house was spotless and so inviting. During 10 nights over Christmas and New Years, aside from some butterflies and dragonflies that would visit us daily by the pool, I didn’t see one bug. We would open up the amazing pocket doors in the morning and enjoy the indoor-outdoor living by the pool. The pool was warm yet refreshing. The view from this house is stunning. Ocean for miles and a panoramic view of the town below, total privacy! We watched 10 different fireworks shows from the house on New Years Eve that were being set off throughout the town below, a private show! There are three bedrooms and bathrooms. There were only four of us so plenty of room but there would have easily been room for a third couple with everyone having their own space, comfy bed and bathroom. The weather was perfect every day of our trip and we enjoyed exploring the island all day with our packed coolers of lunch and returning home in time to BBQ or make dinner in the fully stocked kitchen. Sunsets overlooking the ocean from this location are stunning and the placement of the home on the property is perfect for cooling breezes in the evening. We never felt the least bit hot or cold in this home, just perfect. The home was in the perfect location, views for miles being up on the hill yet just a short drive to town with a variety of restaurants and beaches very close by. There was a few choices for grocery shopping and even a Costco and Walmart a sh

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What more can I say? We will return again and again unless too many people discover this little piece of paradise and book it before we can. No desire to leave to explore the Island. We just looked forward to each day, each meal, each evening rest. The only way to recharge, even though we are living in retirement. Felt like I was at home without any responsibilities or worries.
