PROPERTY OVERVIEW:

Your escape to Maui begins with a stay in this beautifully remodeled condo located at the Kihei Akahi in sunny south Kihei, situated directly across the street and a short 5-minute walk from this unit to Kamaole Beach II, one of Maui's best swimming and sunning beaches and walking distance to several popular restaurants and shops. The complex consists of four buildings, 240 individually owned units on 6-1/2 acres of lush, manicured grounds with beautiful tropical foliage. An on-site manager's office, full-sized tennis court and two barbecue areas with gas barbecues are located on property. Enjoy a cool and refreshing swim in one of two sparkling pools.

You will love this ocean view condo with panoramic views of the Pacific, west Maui mountains and Maalaea bay. Enjoy peaceful mornings on your private lanai gazing at the ocean or relax with an evening cocktail while taking in spectacular sunset views over the ocean. During winter months (December to mid-April) Humpback whales may be seen as they make their annual migration south so don't forget to bring your binoculars.

This one-bedroom, one-bath condo provides 655 square feet of living space and is located on the 4th floor of the highly desirable "D" Building (really the 5th floor due to building design), at the back of the property and away from the main road. There are two elevators in this building, and you will have your own free assigned parking space plus the convenience of keyless entry to the unit. The moment you walk through the front door you will be drawn to the amazing ocean views to the west. From the lanai you can also view Molokini to the south, west Maui mountains and Maalaea bay to the north. This remodeled unit has a welcoming and comfortable feel with its beautiful furnishings and finishes, bamboo cabinetry, granite counters, tiled floors and oversized walk-in tiled shower.

Guests will be happy to know that we have Mitsubishi split air-conditioning in this unit with separate air handlers in the living room and bedroom. You will want a/c in the bedroom for those very hot days. NOT ALL units at this property or on Maui have air-conditioning in the bedroom so you will be assured of sleeping comfortably at the end of the day. In response to a previous guest’s review, we have had the two air handler condensation pumps replaced and the noise issue has been resolved.

All the modern conveniences of home are offered in this unit with a newly purchased (May 2021) Simmons Beautyrest Hybrid 15” California King sized mattress and bed frame, cable TV, free high-speed Wi-Fi, washer/dryer, and a well-stocked kitchen, gas stove, refrigerator, new Bosch Ascenta dishwasher, and microwave. The living room sofa also converts to a queen-sized sofa sleeper with 5” memory foam mattress purchased in December 2021. Dual paned windows in both the living room and bedroom help keep this unit cooler and minimize any outside noise. They also provide for more visual appeal as there are no jealousy windows to obstruct the beautiful ocean view. This unit is best suited for two persons. It sleeps a maximum of 4 guests.

We are new owners of this unit as of November, 2019 with our first VRBO guests staying in January, 2020. As previous owners of a unit in north Kihei from 2015-2019 we are proud to say that we earned a solid 4.8 out of 5 on 74 reviews from past guests. We take great pride in providing our guests with the kind of experience we expect as guests ourselves, traveling to Maui at least three times a year to check on the condition of the unit. Check-in is 4:00 p.m. and checkout is 10:00 a.m.

CANCELLATION POLICY: We currently follow VRBO’s “Relaxed” cancellation policy. Travelers who cancel in writing more than 14 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount they've paid. Travelers who cancel in writing between 7 and 14 days before check-in will get back 50% of the amount they've paid. No refund provided for cancellations received within the last 7 days before arrival.

This vacation rental is operated in full compliance with Hawaii law. General Excise and Transient Accommodation Taxes are collected and transmitted to the State of Hawaii.
