The much loved and well appointed Lalamilo Beach House is ideally located on the north end of Waialea Bay (Beach 69) which is known for its beautiful white sand beach and turquoise blue water.

Three bedrooms in the main house each have their own private bathroom and you can see the ocean and beach directly in front of you. It is the most ideal location!

The plantation-style, main house was designed for beach goers of all ages. It features an expansive great room, a fully-equipped kitchen with large central island and counter seating, a dining table with seating for up to 10 guests, a card/game table and a large Punee for lounging in the traditional Hawaiian style. There is also a generous sun deck with an outdoor dining area and ample seating for sunbathers and stargazers alike. The long, shaded lanai leads to the home's three bedroom suites, each boasting stunning mauka and makai views as well as the sounds of the sea.

The separate, second story 1 bedroom/1 bath Guest house offers its own lanai, living room and master suite, as well as mauka views of the world famous volcanoes - Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. The Ohana Guest House sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids comfortably.

Note: all interior spaces are fully-screened protecting you and your little ones from any tropical insects.

Nearly one half acre of beautiful, mature, tropical landscaping. The plumerias are so plentiful, in fact, that guests can string together their own leis daily. The large, green lawn leads directly onto the beach and provides the perfect spot to play badminton, volleyball, store beach toys, or host a small gathering. There is also a hot water, outdoor shower that makes coming in from a long swim or snorkel truly pleasurable.

Catering, housekeeping and massage services can be made available throughout your stay for an additional charge.

Think Hemingway, add in a gorgeous beach with incredible sunsets. Its here, accommodations are equal to its surroundings, matured and dated with Hawaiian history. Open aired with all the modern conveniences needed to enjoy this unique place.

This house was amazing for our family of eight and grandma and grandpa! The location is incredible and we will stay here again some year!!!!! The whole setting is a 10, but does have a few minor things to be aware of. The beach access is also part of a state park and can get really crowded, because it is an awesome location for snorkeling, SUP (use the owner’s referral to Evan for SUP & kayak rentals: HE WAS AWESOME to rent from) and hanging out. The house is well kept, but has it’s little things like the screen doors needed constant attention or our poor attention to detail that if you leave the property after 8pm to 7am, you have to use the secondary gated exit (we almost missed our fishing boat. Again, our mistake and the house contact was great to deal with) Other awesome bonus stuff was the storage room full of beach chairs, masks/snorkels/fins and a few fishing poles. Simply put, this house and location is second best place I have stayed in my life, after a safari tent resort in Africa! Mahalo!

Pictures can be deceiving, but this piece of paradise was quite above our expectations. As 28 year old son said “ this is the best vacation ever” no more needs to be said!🎉

Our extended family loved this property. Everything about it was perfect for us. Grandparents, two daughters and son in laws, five grandchildren. Each family had a place for themselves, plenty of bathrooms, great beach access, abundance of beach toys and chairs. Kitchen was perfect for all our cooking needs, thanksgiving dinner, birthday cake. I may delete this and write a mediocre review so we can have a good chance of getting this house again. Only drawback was stickers on the path to the beach from the trees. Truly our little piece of paradise.

The house is well equipped with great access to a beautiful beach. The house also has nice plantings and good privacy. If I stay there again I shall deal directly with Lelani the realtor not though Vrbo. The beach itself is sandy and picturesque but is often crowded during the day. In the early morning and evening it is quiet. Morning and evening are the best times for snorkeling.

Its a beautiful place. We weren't disappointed. The beach is very peppered with large trees that lay on the sand, so not a typical beach, but it is RIGHT outside your front yard!

As always this was the perfect house for our extended family. It is such an easy comfortable place for all of us -from 4 year old to 77 year old - to be and to enjoy the area.

We brought our entire family to the Great Island, including 3 under the age of 3! This property is like staying at your own boutique hotel. The kitchen is definitely the most well stocked of any property we have rented in the past. The bath towels and beach towels are plush and plentiful. We all so enjoyed walking across our yard right to the beach and into the ocean. We liked this property so much that we already checked the calendar for this week next week and alas...it is already booked.

I'm always hesitant to let people know about Waialea Bay, but anyhow... Lalamilo is a wonderful house. Besides its amazing location, it has tons of style and is incredibly comfortable. We loved it and only wish we could have stayed longer. That, and it would have been pretty cool to be like the photos in the home that show folks arriving by sampan in the 1940s. Must have been heaven. It still is.

My wife and I treated our entire family (grandchildren and all) to a week on the Big Island. We were fortunate enough to find the Lalamilo Beach House. It was a paradise, with all the amenities one could ask for. The Puako Beach was fantastic and the sunrise and sunsets to die for. We would recommend this vacation home to all.

I cannot say enough good things out about our stay here. I was traveling with my best friend of many decades. We are now in our 60's and still enjoy meeting places and vacationing together. We both were in awe of the beautiful setting this house is in. You are right on the beach, and a few nights the ocean waves were so loud, they woke me up. I injured my knee shortly before our stay and was concerned about the rest room being up a steep hill. No need to worry -- a lovely new bathroom with huge shower and all amenities was right there at ground level. The traditional bathroom that was up a little path was also charming and functional. Only because of my knee I was grateful I didn't have to rely on it regularly. For me, this was the IDEAL place to relax, do as much or as little as you want. Shopping is within driving distance or you could just spend the whole time on the beach. We had the windows open day and night the entire time we were there. The weather was spectacular. A huge supply of water toys is kept at the house in the laundry room, which was also a wonderful thing to have. I would recommend this bungalow to anyone. It was clean, very well maintained, and just a very special, peaceful majestic beachfront setting. I am already planning my return trip.

Our family of 12, ranging in ages from 4 - 79, resident in Seattle, Los Angeles, and Sweden, after spending a full week at Lalamilo House, came home with a lifetime of wonderful memories. Snorkeling, swimming with porpoises and sea turtles, kayaking, boogie boarding, body surfing and beach-walking, offered something for everyone and delighted each of us during the day. Evenings were spent playing an array of games that we found in this wonderful house. We never ate a meal in a restaurant, as the wonderfully equipped kitchen and beautiful dining area suited us perfectly, with different family members sharing the cooking of meals, others cleaning up. It was a great family vacation together. We loved buying local seasonal foods at the farmer's open-air markets, and fish from a nearby fish market. Arriving our first night late in the evening, Maria had given us good directions for a quick shop stop between the airport and the house--thank you for answering all our questions, making our arrival as easy as possible. We went to the Hilo side to take an amazing 4-hour lava flow walk on the Kiluea system. The youngest ones in our family were not permitted on this walk, so they went to Volcano National Park and were just as pleased with their experience. Our Swedish grandchildren have decided they will live in Hawaii when they are adults! Thank you, thank you from all of us!

What else can you say about such a place other than; it was just right. Secluded home with trees and plants all around, which attract the singing birdies. The trees push past the property to the beach, where you’ll find both shade and sun, along with lots of families in a very serene coastal environment. The layout of the house was conducive to hanging out in the main area or quietly retiring to one of the four separated bedrooms (one of those bedrooms being its own condo in the back). The kitchen was spacious and equipped enough to handle dinner for twelve. With the lanai beds inside and Adirondack chairs on the deck, there was always some place to plop down and decompress from all the heavy duty beach time. Waialea Bay gives good harbor for all kinds water activities; snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, floating, swimming, boogie boarding. Hapuna Beach is just to the north, for that and more, with good surfing and body surfing in the winter. The property manager, Leilani, was both responsive and helpful, and couldn’t have been sweeter. Our family very much enjoyed our time here on our favorite island. Just right.

Absolutely amazing house on our favorite beach on the island. The house was well equipped with all the supplies that we needed. Our families had a wonderful time at the house and the beach and no one wanted to leave. We all enjoyed beautiful sunsets, sunrises and clear blue water. Snorkeling, boogie boarding, sunbathing, jumping off lava rocks, and just spending time together. Its the perfect vacation home and we can't wait to come back!
