Beautiful place on an amazing and very secluded beach! From the balcony we could see turtles each morning. Snorkeling is great and this rental has lots of beach/snorkel equipment available. Security here was present and professional. Had a great time here and look to book it again in the near future!

We had a lovely time overlooking the ocean. The moonrises were beautiful, as were the sunsets. The water was a little rough so we couldn't play in it much, but better swimmers enjoyed it a great deal. This condo was well appointed with all we needed. Mary and Neil were great to work with and very patient with our jet lagged brains. It was so nice to have a quiet retreat to come back to after spending time in Honolulu. Thank you for providing such a lovely place for us to enjoy our vacation.

It was great. Watched turtles every morning swimming in the bay. Had fun watching sunsets from the beach and lani. Was so nice to be able to wash and dry clothes. The beach was very nice not crowded at all. Will definitely rent again.

Comfortable and clean, Mary’s Makaha condo was a pleasure to stay in. Fully resourced with all the comforts of home. Mary was very responsive to all my communications. Great service from the security team in the front lobby. But of course the reason this place rises so far above the rest is….THAT VIEW! Those sunsets. The beach in front (a short walk past the rocky shore) is a beautiful sandy, perfect spot to spend the whole day, in and out of the water. We loved the location and area, felt perfectly safe from our early morning walks to our late night returns from dinner at the Beach House (highly recommended, a 5 min drive down the road)
Love Mary’s place, definitely recommended, hope to be back one day.

My wife and I absolutely loved the view as advertised. Her condo has everything and more available for your stay. From little things like kitchen needs to beach gear. The sun sets on back patio side, so my wife got the most amazing sunset photos. In the afternoon, there are 2 umbrellas to use for shade, and there's 4 beach chairs to just enjoy and watch the crashing waves. The beach is beautiful but has a pretty good undertow, so beware for you and your kids, but the more experienced swimmers and locals enjoyed the water. I definitely would come back to Makaha and hopefully Mary's unit is available. Her unit has air conditioning and the other couple that came with us didn't have air conditioning, so if Mary's unit is not available, make sure you look for that. Mary gets back to you very quickly and we had no problems checking in. I could go on and on, but one thing we didn't do that I wished we did was read the guest book that she leaves in her room. Other guests give suggestions on where to go in Makaha, so look for that in the living room near the end table. The parking lot has security gates around the perimeter and you cannot enter anywhere without a key fob, so we felt safe. There are a lot of tourists who stay there, but it is a hidden gem. Thanks for opening your home to us Mary...Absolutely loved it!

I booked this property because we didn’t want to be in the more populated areas of West Oahu. It worked out well. There is a fair amount of commuter traffic in the mornings & evenings. You just have to allow a few extra minutes if you are going sightseeing. I suspect it’s no worse than traffic around Honolulu, though.
The condo building is nice. Check-in was simple. Property is secure & we never had any issues.
There are lots of houseless folks camped out on the beach all along the NW coast, which did deter us from exploring some beaches. However, there are plenty of other areas to explore & many beaches to relax on, or snorkel at, in the vicinity. The beach at the condo is beautiful. We snorkeled there & saw a variety of fish. Each morning, we saw honu (sea turtles) from our lanai. The sunsets were amazing & one of my favorite things about staying here. At night, when it was clear, we could see the Milky Way, too. One night, we saw a satellite in the sky. The light pollution is definitely less there than a more populated area!
The condo is well equipped with plenty of kitchen items, towels, etc. We liked the fact there were beach chairs, umbrellas & other items for our use. It was also nice to have a washer/dryer in the condo. There were some detergent pods & dryer sheets, too.
Communication with the property owner was excellent.
We enjoyed our stay & would recommend this property. 🌺

We stayed here recently as part of our honeymoon trip. The property was clean, Mary was easy to get in touch with and communicate with and we felt safe and comfortable. But the best part of this booking is hands down the incredible sunsets we were graced with each night on the lanai! Absolutely stunning views. The beach is beautiful and we even saw a couple turtles swimming in the mornings. We would absolutely stay here again!

This condo has an amazing direct ocean front view. The resort has been well managed with security onsite all the time and gate locked. Condo is well stocked with everything we needed. Sheets are higher end 600 count sheets😊 it also has a central air which is rare in Hawaii.

The property is exactly like the pictures and the owners were very nice and great with communicating with us. However this area is in a high crime location and there are many homeless camps surrounding the property. Did not feel safe in the area. The property is gated and has security so maybe this wouldn’t bother some. We ended up mostly driving to the North Shore or Honolulu area.

All the experience was smooth and excellent from the begging to the end. This place is so gorgeous! Mary is such a good owner, always communicating with you to make sure everything is ok and I have no words to describe her apartment!
The place is a piece of heaven in Oahu, peaceful beach with unforgettable views, stunning sunsets and we were able to see 7-8 turtles just from the Lanai early mornings. The beach is also so nice, it is quite private with no much people around, a few waves… so much better than waikiki!
This is the place I am coming back from to Oahu from now own. Book it! You won’t regret.

My family stayed here and enjoyed the place. It is right on the beach. Being on the leeward side of the island you do get some big waves. My 10 year old daughter and I found these to be fun. Less strong swimmers might want to go do a different beach. That said, the view was incredible. The property was well maintained. The parking is gated and has full time security staff. There was a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. I would return for the view and the sound of the ocean all by itself.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this property! The view from the balcony was a gorgeous blend of turquoise and blue waters and green hills.
The unit was very well-equipped and had everything we needed for the beach - chair, cooler, umbrellas, snorkeling gear, noodles, you name it and it was there.
The beach was nearly secluded during our visit, which was a nice change of pace from other areas we visited.
The only downside of this property was the fact that the neighborhood surrounding it looked a little depressed. The unit itself had great security and we always felt perfectly safe, but there wasn't a great variety of nicer restaurants or things to do in the area. This was fine with us, as the beach more than made up for anything else. I would definitely return to this property and would recommend it to anyone.

This is a small one bedroom unit that is in the 13th floor with really great ocean and sunset (!) views. It is right on a beach that was never crowded and has decent snorkeling. The building provides a large amount of shade early in the day while other areas of the beach are sunny. This is nice for those who want to limit their time in the sun.
This area of Oahu is sunny and dry—not lush and tropical—so rain is less likely. There is little in the way of shopping or restaurants. The area seemed safe but is a bit impoverished compared to areas around Honolulu and east shore. Other beaches in this area have homeless encampments related to exorbitant cost of living in Oahu.
You will definitely need a car, but it’s a great location for a couple (would be tight for more than 2 people, however there is a sleeper sofa) wanting a low key, ‘hang out at the beach’ vacation.
Owners were truly exceptional, unit was spotless with a well equipped with kitchen and lots of beach gear for your use. The unit’s washer and dryer is a big plus.
The pool and hot tub were being remodelled and not available but for use, but it looks like it should be finished soon. The complex has complimentary gas grills with adjacent picnic tables for your use.
Driving directions from the airport seem a bit complicated, but it is really easy as the highway just changes names about three times.

Loved our stay here. The view from the balcony was incredible. We could spot turtles in the surf throughout the day and pods of whales swimming by at sunset. The sun screen was a nice touch too, and kept the apartment from getting too hot during the afternoon. Kitchen was well-stocked and we cooked most of our meals there. It was nice being right on the beach and within close proximity to several attractions. Great vacation!

This was a great location (for December stay) for calmer waters and less precipitation, as well as a good value for staying directly on the beach. We saw turtles each time when snorkeling, and sometimes saw them from the balcony. We ate lunch and dinner on the balcony daily. It was very convenient and peaceful not to have to book snorkeling tours and to be able to do it "right there".

Our favorite aspect of staying here was the beach! It wasn't super crowded and just an elevator ride away. We loved hearing the ocean day and night and eating all of our meals on the Lanai. The town/neighborhood has more of a local and older style feel to it. It was nice to have a couple of grocery stores and places to eat that were only 5 minutes away. It was a little bit of a drive to go anywhere else on the island, but we didn't mind at all. Mary was great at responding to text messages and checking in on us. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time at the Mary’s condo. A perfect location with incredible views. The condo was clean, quiet (with the exception of soothing sounds of the waves) and well stocked with linens, beach towels, kitchen/eating wares, and plenty of beach equipment helping to make our stay even more enjoyable. Mary was a great host and checked in with us after a few days to make sure everything was going well. We definitely recommend staying in Mary’s condo. It was lovely!

We didn’t want to be in Honolulu or Waikiki but wanted to be someplace quieter. This place was perfect. We loved being among the locals who were so very friendly. There were lots of wonderful restaurants to pick from. We would recommend A&G Bar and Grill and The Beach House. The view was amazing. We never got tired of it. Being on the 13th floor, we left the patio door open at night so we could hear the waves crashing as we fell asleep. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook when we wanted to. We even used the grill one night. Being able to eat in if and when we wanted was so nice. And it was helpful to have beach towels, umbrellas, chairs and water play toys. It definitely saved space in our suitcase. Only minor complaint is the bed frame is very squeaky. I hated to get up in the middle of the night or turn over, afraid I would wake my husband. But again this was minor. Thank you for the wonderful condo. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Oahu.

On an absolutely gorgeous beach, but with very few people. So, nothing to watch, but we were able to watch sea turtles from our balcony. No decent restaurants within 20 miles, only fast food. Several homeless encampments in the area. The unit was not thoroughly cleaned and cockroach infested. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Everything was very convenient-reservation, check-in, check-out and location. "How-to" guidance provided prior to trip extremely helpful-as was Billy who meets & greets to provide on-site assistance. Location is prime, turtle sighting right on the beach and then from the lanai 2 days in a row! Everything needed to enjoy the beach is provided; and deposit was refunded before our plane landed. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves-highly recommend for a carefree vacation.

This us our second year at Mary and Neil's condo. They provide everything you would need. This is the place to go if you want the true Hawaiian experience. No high end shopping and crowds. Small local restaurants nearby. And of course the most important thing is top beaches. The beach outside the condo is tops. Often we spend the whole day at the beach. Mary and Neil are great to work with and want you to have a great stay at their condo. We will for sure be back!

This was my second time staying at this condo and I guess that says a lot. I have spoken to many people who have been going there for years. One man said that he has been going for 35 years and ended up buying a place because he loved it so much. If you go I guarantee that you will always go back. Once you have been to the west coast you will not want to stay anywhere else. Its close to everything that you want but you do need a car. With a car, and this as your home base, you can adventure tour the island and come back to a quiet and relaxing spot to enjoy the rest of your day. Its amazing. You will love the apartment. This cute little condo was the ideal getaway for myself and my 2 daughters. We lead very stressful lives and did not want to be around traffic, ostentatious people, bars, loud music or noisy kids. We were in a little oasis of private beach, quiet adults, empty swimming pool and hot tub most of the time. The other people we did meet were polite and friendly. The staff working at the Hawaiian Princess were very kind and helpful. The condo had everything we could possibly need and was exactly as the photos portray with no hidden suprises. The beds were very comfortable, the beach toys, the chairs, and lanai all perfect. We loved seeing whales, dophins, huge turtles every day! We were actually pleasantly surprised by all these positive things. And the best part with the forecast being rain - the mountains around us held those clouds back and we got to enjoy sunshine every single day!

We didn't want to come home after this vacation. The condo was very nice, clean and well kept. It had everything we could possibly need. We just bought a few groceries for the week. We still can't get over this gorgeous beach. For a week, we felt like we had paradise all to ourselves, very few people on the beach and everyone was friendly. Every morning and night we would take walks to enjoy the wonderful beach. We literally couldn't get enough. We usually like to visit our favorite beaches on the island in the North Shore and Lanikai but we have a new favorite. Nothing beats the sound of the waves crashing at night. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful condo. What a relaxing and beautiful setting! The bed was comfortable, with nice lightweight linens and plenty of towels for beach and shower use. The kitchen was fully stocked, and we were impressed with the amount of utensils and storage containers for cooking. The location was ideal for us, with a great beach, private pool, and none of the Honolulu traffic! We were able to plan several day trips, and enjoy the nice beach in the evening. This unit is exactly as posted on VRBO. Very accommodating and comfortable. We stayed 30 days and had a wonderful time. All the beach supplies (chairs, umbrellas, noodles, snorkel equipment, etc…) are furnished. We used the common area grills for BBQ most nights. Just take your meat, fish, veggies down to the grill area and start the fun. Sunsets on the Oahu Leeward coast are fabulous. Watch from your lanai and enjoy the conch blowers sounding the sunset. Before you go shopping: Be sure to go there just to see what others have left behind for use. It's nice having washer/dryer in unit as well. I came home to just unpack - no washing clothes. We loved the view from the lanai and had a wonderful breakfast there each morning. The condo was very quiet and the furniture was comfortable. (One exception: the bed was a little soft for our tastes, though some may prefer that.) The kitchen was well equipped and had good appliances. (The one annoyance was the can opener, which barely functioned.)
The nearby golf course, Makaha Valley, was stunning. Great views of the mountains or the ocean from every hole. Our only reservation was we had to drive to Ko Olina or beyond (Kapolei) for a good restaurant. The traffic going back towards Honolulu was always bad, with many traffic lights, and so this took more time than we had anticipated.
The area was very beautiful and very quiet. The waves were fiercer than we expected on the leeward side, perhaps because the trade winds were exceptionally high during our visit.

Thank you for sharing your condo with us. We had a wonderful time. The condo was clean and had every thing you would need to stay comfortably at the beach. We were there for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute. The view from the lanai is spectacular. We could see the turtles swimming in the cove and whales spouting off in the distance. Every night at sunset we would here the locals blow the conche shell marking the end of the day. The book of things to do in the local area was very helpful, we used many of the suggestions. We would have a hard time deciding what we enjoyed the most. Maybe just grabbing the beach chairs, umbrella and cooler and relaxing on the beach. Hope to come back soon. Mike and Lori

What a lovely spot, away from all the hubbub of Honolulu/Waikiki. It was perfect, my husband and I wanted a quiet place and it definatley delivered. The condo was as seen on VBRO. We enjoyed hanging out on the lanai every morning having coffee, looking for turtles or sipping wine watchthing the sunset. Everyone at the Hawaiian Princess were friendly. I agree it was out of the way, but we were able to explore the Leeward side of the Island, we went hiking to Keawa'ula Ahupaua'a, where Farrington(93) ends. What a lovely hike, the water pools and the bright fishes we saw were fantastic. It was remote and the views are incredible. We left the condo the way we found it, clean. Laundry was in the dryer, dishwasher started and garbage discarded. Mary has already started the process of returning the deposit. Thanks Mary for your all your help and being gracious. Appreciate all the communication.

What a nice place!! The condo was exactly what it said it would be and then some. We were celebrating our daughter's end with chemo treatments so wee were there to relax and enjoy. There was everything we would need,available to be used at our leisure. Yes, it was a bit out of the way but for privacy and a secluded beach, you couldn't ask for more. To see the turtles from our room and then on shore in the bay next door, that was unexpected. The water was spectacular and the waves you could watch all day. The rock beside was cool to climb as was some of the caves towards the end of the road. We had all information needed readily available for us, a really clean place both in the condo and water/beach.
I hope to be able to use the place again one day to just sit and do nothing!!

It was a clean, very well equipped condo, perfect you want to just hang out with your own private beach. A bit of a distance if you want to do the tourist things as traffic can be horrendous but it made you appreciate the condo more when you got back. The view from the 13th floor is spectacular and I could stare at the waves and turtles all day. The Makaha town area really had a local feel and no worries about feeling unsecured.The 'Home Away' app was helpful, definitely down load it!

My husband and I chose this condo for our honeymoon because we wanted a more secluded place away from the "touristy" parts of Oahu. We were very happy with our choice! The condo was exactly as pictured on VRBO. It was clean and all the amenities were as promised. We loved looking out to the ocean, hearing the waves and enjoying amazing sunsets. We selected this place several months in advance and the owner, Mary, communicated regularly with us. This helped with the assurance that we had picked a perfect spot! We left with everything as we had found it and our deposit was refunded expeditiously. The only downside, if any, was the lack of dinner restaurants nearby. We found a great breakfast place - Country Kitchen Cafe. The only good dinner place was The Crab Shack, where we ordered carry out shrimp dinners that were great. If we ever return to Hawaii, we would definitely stay here again.

Love everything about this place, condo is very well kept and has everything you could need. This is our second year in a row renting here and plan to come back for a third next year. The view and the beach are absolutely beautiful. Very quiet area to be away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and the city. Paradise, we had the most amazing vacation it was awesome to wake up and watch the whales, turtles etc even to watch the Hawaiian monk seal spend the day on the beach. The unit was very clean and decorated nicely the security staff were very nice always welcoming us and making sure everything was ok the binder of info was very much appreciated We met a lot of nice people. At first we were wanting the ground level but were glad we were on the 13th floor as the view was beautiful esp thru the binoculars To go to sleep with the sound of the waves was truly enjoyable Thank you for a very much deserving vacation

The view from the lanais is outstanding – enjoyed coffee in the morning and amazing sunsets in the afternoons. The beautiful beach was very private and the hot tub was a wonderful place to relax. The constant breeze kept the condo comfortable and we never needed A/C. My husband and I often rent condos and find many owners furnish their condos with the least expensive options. The owners of this condo furnished it with the renter in mind – nice appliances, very well-stocked kitchen, fluffy towels, beautiful furnishings, comfortable beach chairs and lots of extras – from “Big Bang” DVDs to watch during sun breaks to little umbrellas for the fruity drinks! No surprises-the condo fulfilled the excellent description. The owners were very helpful and responsive as we prepared for our stay. Our stay was most enjoyable and we’d recommend this to others who are looking for a stay in paradise.

We stayed here for the last leg of our honeymoon in search of a relaxing atmosphere and we found that here! The condo was cozy and it had everything we needed to cook for ourselves, including some spices so we weren't breaking the bank grocery shopping. The bed was super comfortable! However, the best part was the beach access. The swimming and snorkeling off the beach was great, the waves were rarely too big or rough to get into the water. The beach was also perfect for sitting on all day drinking fruity drinks and reading while taking a dip in the ocean if we got too warm. I will definitely be back!

My wife and I chose this condo for our hawaiian honeymoon and it turned out the be the perfect place! The view of the oceanfrom 13 floors up is beautiful and most days we could see schools of fish, turtles and even a seal while eating breakfast on the lanai. The unit is fully furnished and has everything wee needed to enjoy ourselves on the beach or inside. The beach is one of the best we have found in hawaii, never are there more than 20 people out there, a far more intimate setting than the crowded beaches found in waikiki. This is the perfect destination for relaxation and still not far from bars and good food. We will definitely be coming back here!
