I have family in Nanakuli so I stay at the Hawaiian princess in Makaha every visit. This was the nicest, most updated, cleanest unit that I have stayed in at the Hawaiian princess. Highly recommend this unit!

A cozy stay with a private lanai overlooking the ocean. We even saw a breaching manta ray from the room! Amazing cross breeze throughout the condo. Mahalo, Mary and Neil!

The Hawaiian Princess is a true hidden gem in an area of Oahu that is not at all touristy. Mary's condo was great and we loved our stay! Also, she was incredibly kind and helpful. Thanks, Mary!

It was great. Watched turtles every morning swimming in the bay. Had fun watching sunsets from the beach and lani. Was so nice to be able to wash and dry clothes. The beach was very nice not crowded at all. Will definitely rent again.

Comfortable and clean, Mary’s Makaha condo was a pleasure to stay in. Fully resourced with all the comforts of home. Mary was very responsive to all my communications. Great service from the security team in the front lobby. But of course the reason this place rises so far above the rest is….THAT VIEW! Those sunsets. The beach in front (a short walk past the rocky shore) is a beautiful sandy, perfect spot to spend the whole day, in and out of the water. We loved the location and area, felt perfectly safe from our early morning walks to our late night returns from dinner at the Beach House (highly recommended, a 5 min drive down the road)
Love Mary’s place, definitely recommended, hope to be back one day.

My wife and I absolutely loved the view as advertised. Her condo has everything and more available for your stay. From little things like kitchen needs to beach gear. The sun sets on back patio side, so my wife got the most amazing sunset photos. In the afternoon, there are 2 umbrellas to use for shade, and there's 4 beach chairs to just enjoy and watch the crashing waves. The beach is beautiful but has a pretty good undertow, so beware for you and your kids, but the more experienced swimmers and locals enjoyed the water. I definitely would come back to Makaha and hopefully Mary's unit is available. Her unit has air conditioning and the other couple that came with us didn't have air conditioning, so if Mary's unit is not available, make sure you look for that. Mary gets back to you very quickly and we had no problems checking in. I could go on and on, but one thing we didn't do that I wished we did was read the guest book that she leaves in her room. Other guests give suggestions on where to go in Makaha, so look for that in the living room near the end table. The parking lot has security gates around the perimeter and you cannot enter anywhere without a key fob, so we felt safe. There are a lot of tourists who stay there, but it is a hidden gem. Thanks for opening your home to us Mary...Absolutely loved it!

I booked this property because we didn’t want to be in the more populated areas of West Oahu. It worked out well. There is a fair amount of commuter traffic in the mornings & evenings. You just have to allow a few extra minutes if you are going sightseeing. I suspect it’s no worse than traffic around Honolulu, though.
The condo building is nice. Check-in was simple. Property is secure & we never had any issues.
There are lots of houseless folks camped out on the beach all along the NW coast, which did deter us from exploring some beaches. However, there are plenty of other areas to explore & many beaches to relax on, or snorkel at, in the vicinity. The beach at the condo is beautiful. We snorkeled there & saw a variety of fish. Each morning, we saw honu (sea turtles) from our lanai. The sunsets were amazing & one of my favorite things about staying here. At night, when it was clear, we could see the Milky Way, too. One night, we saw a satellite in the sky. The light pollution is definitely less there than a more populated area!
The condo is well equipped with plenty of kitchen items, towels, etc. We liked the fact there were beach chairs, umbrellas & other items for our use. It was also nice to have a washer/dryer in the condo. There were some detergent pods & dryer sheets, too.
Communication with the property owner was excellent.
We enjoyed our stay & would recommend this property. 🌺

We stayed here recently as part of our honeymoon trip. The property was clean, Mary was easy to get in touch with and communicate with and we felt safe and comfortable. But the best part of this booking is hands down the incredible sunsets we were graced with each night on the lanai! Absolutely stunning views. The beach is beautiful and we even saw a couple turtles swimming in the mornings. We would absolutely stay here again!

This condo has an amazing direct ocean front view. The resort has been well managed with security onsite all the time and gate locked. Condo is well stocked with everything we needed. Sheets are higher end 600 count sheets😊 it also has a central air which is rare in Hawaii.

The property is exactly like the pictures and the owners were very nice and great with communicating with us. However this area is in a high crime location and there are many homeless camps surrounding the property. Did not feel safe in the area. The property is gated and has security so maybe this wouldn’t bother some. We ended up mostly driving to the North Shore or Honolulu area.

All the experience was smooth and excellent from the begging to the end. This place is so gorgeous! Mary is such a good owner, always communicating with you to make sure everything is ok and I have no words to describe her apartment!
The place is a piece of heaven in Oahu, peaceful beach with unforgettable views, stunning sunsets and we were able to see 7-8 turtles just from the Lanai early mornings. The beach is also so nice, it is quite private with no much people around, a few waves… so much better than waikiki!
This is the place I am coming back from to Oahu from now own. Book it! You won’t regret.

My family stayed here and enjoyed the place. It is right on the beach. Being on the leeward side of the island you do get some big waves. My 10 year old daughter and I found these to be fun. Less strong swimmers might want to go do a different beach. That said, the view was incredible. The property was well maintained. The parking is gated and has full time security staff. There was a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. I would return for the view and the sound of the ocean all by itself.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this property! The view from the balcony was a gorgeous blend of turquoise and blue waters and green hills.
The unit was very well-equipped and had everything we needed for the beach - chair, cooler, umbrellas, snorkeling gear, noodles, you name it and it was there.
The beach was nearly secluded during our visit, which was a nice change of pace from other areas we visited.
The only downside of this property was the fact that the neighborhood surrounding it looked a little depressed. The unit itself had great security and we always felt perfectly safe, but there wasn't a great variety of nicer restaurants or things to do in the area. This was fine with us, as the beach more than made up for anything else. I would definitely return to this property and would recommend it to anyone.

This is a small one bedroom unit that is in the 13th floor with really great ocean and sunset (!) views. It is right on a beach that was never crowded and has decent snorkeling. The building provides a large amount of shade early in the day while other areas of the beach are sunny. This is nice for those who want to limit their time in the sun.
This area of Oahu is sunny and dry—not lush and tropical—so rain is less likely. There is little in the way of shopping or restaurants. The area seemed safe but is a bit impoverished compared to areas around Honolulu and east shore. Other beaches in this area have homeless encampments related to exorbitant cost of living in Oahu.
You will definitely need a car, but it’s a great location for a couple (would be tight for more than 2 people, however there is a sleeper sofa) wanting a low key, ‘hang out at the beach’ vacation.
Owners were truly exceptional, unit was spotless with a well equipped with kitchen and lots of beach gear for your use. The unit’s washer and dryer is a big plus.
The pool and hot tub were being remodelled and not available but for use, but it looks like it should be finished soon. The complex has complimentary gas grills with adjacent picnic tables for your use.
Driving directions from the airport seem a bit complicated, but it is really easy as the highway just changes names about three times.

We had a great time at this property. For the price it can’t be beat. The view from the lanai is gorgeous and it’s literally right on the beach. We didn’t mind the extra drive when going out and about because we wouldn’t have had these luxuries in Honolulu. Highly recommend!

Loved our stay here. The view from the balcony was incredible. We could spot turtles in the surf throughout the day and pods of whales swimming by at sunset. The sun screen was a nice touch too, and kept the apartment from getting too hot during the afternoon. Kitchen was well-stocked and we cooked most of our meals there. It was nice being right on the beach and within close proximity to several attractions. Great vacation!

This was a great location (for December stay) for calmer waters and less precipitation, as well as a good value for staying directly on the beach. We saw turtles each time when snorkeling, and sometimes saw them from the balcony. We ate lunch and dinner on the balcony daily. It was very convenient and peaceful not to have to book snorkeling tours and to be able to do it "right there".

Our favorite aspect of staying here was the beach! It wasn't super crowded and just an elevator ride away. We loved hearing the ocean day and night and eating all of our meals on the Lanai. The town/neighborhood has more of a local and older style feel to it. It was nice to have a couple of grocery stores and places to eat that were only 5 minutes away. It was a little bit of a drive to go anywhere else on the island, but we didn't mind at all. Mary was great at responding to text messages and checking in on us. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time at the Mary’s condo. A perfect location with incredible views. The condo was clean, quiet (with the exception of soothing sounds of the waves) and well stocked with linens, beach towels, kitchen/eating wares, and plenty of beach equipment helping to make our stay even more enjoyable. Mary was a great host and checked in with us after a few days to make sure everything was going well. We definitely recommend staying in Mary’s condo. It was lovely!

Unbeatable beach views/access! Lots of stellar hikes nearby on western Oahu. Not the part of the island for high-end dining or shopping, but that's not what we were looking for and thoroughly enjoyed our time.

We didn’t want to be in Honolulu or Waikiki but wanted to be someplace quieter. This place was perfect. We loved being among the locals who were so very friendly. There were lots of wonderful restaurants to pick from. We would recommend A&G Bar and Grill and The Beach House. The view was amazing. We never got tired of it. Being on the 13th floor, we left the patio door open at night so we could hear the waves crashing as we fell asleep. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook when we wanted to. We even used the grill one night. Being able to eat in if and when we wanted was so nice. And it was helpful to have beach towels, umbrellas, chairs and water play toys. It definitely saved space in our suitcase. Only minor complaint is the bed frame is very squeaky. I hated to get up in the middle of the night or turn over, afraid I would wake my husband. But again this was minor. Thank you for the wonderful condo. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Oahu.

Paradise, we had the most amazing vacation it was awesome to wake up and watch the whales, turtles etc even to watch the Hawaiian monk seal spend the day on the beach. The unit was very clean and decorated nicely the security staff were very nice always welcoming us and making sure everything was ok the binder of info was very much appreciated We met a lot of nice people. At first we were wanting the ground level but were glad we were on the 13th floor as the view was beautiful esp thru the binoculars To go to sleep with the sound of the waves was truly enjoyable Thank you for a very much deserving vacation

The view from the lanais is outstanding – enjoyed coffee in the morning and amazing sunsets in the afternoons. The beautiful beach was very private and the hot tub was a wonderful place to relax. The constant breeze kept the condo comfortable and we never needed A/C. My husband and I often rent condos and find many owners furnish their condos with the least expensive options. The owners of this condo furnished it with the renter in mind – nice appliances, very well-stocked kitchen, fluffy towels, beautiful furnishings, comfortable beach chairs and lots of extras – from “Big Bang” DVDs to watch during sun breaks to little umbrellas for the fruity drinks! No surprises-the condo fulfilled the excellent description. The owners were very helpful and responsive as we prepared for our stay. Our stay was most enjoyable and we’d recommend this to others who are looking for a stay in paradise.

We stayed here for the last leg of our honeymoon in search of a relaxing atmosphere and we found that here! The condo was cozy and it had everything we needed to cook for ourselves, including some spices so we weren't breaking the bank grocery shopping. The bed was super comfortable! However, the best part was the beach access. The swimming and snorkeling off the beach was great, the waves were rarely too big or rough to get into the water. The beach was also perfect for sitting on all day drinking fruity drinks and reading while taking a dip in the ocean if we got too warm. I will definitely be back!

My wife and I chose this condo for our hawaiian honeymoon and it turned out the be the perfect place! The view of the oceanfrom 13 floors up is beautiful and most days we could see schools of fish, turtles and even a seal while eating breakfast on the lanai. The unit is fully furnished and has everything wee needed to enjoy ourselves on the beach or inside. The beach is one of the best we have found in hawaii, never are there more than 20 people out there, a far more intimate setting than the crowded beaches found in waikiki. This is the perfect destination for relaxation and still not far from bars and good food. We will definitely be coming back here!
