This was my first experience with VRBO, or anything like it, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say I couldn't be happier with VRBO, my hosts, the space, and the whole process. What I saw online is what I got and more. I will definitely recommend it to anyone who asks.

I highly recommend this place. The condo was clean and well stocked (towels, beach chairs, dishes, pots, glasses, etc). The complex is quiet and very well maintained. The community grill was great. The balcony faces the ocean and was a great place to relax in the evening. It's a very short walk to the beach which has showers, bathrooms, and a lifeguard station. The bed is on the firmer side. The hosts are very communicative. Great experience!

My wife and I always stay in Kaanapali, for whatever reason we drew up in our head that was our go to spot. When the fires struck we had to pivot and stay somewhere else or cancel our vacation. We decided to give Kihei a shot. Well we loved staying in Kihei. The location is central to everything, beaches, shopping, great food and drinks. 2 days into our stay my wife said Kihei seems to be the spot to stay moving forward and I couldn't agree more. The owners were very communicative and checked in on us to see if we needed anything. The condo was stocked with more than what we needed and was across the street from the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning soon.

This property was accurately described in its listing. The owner was quick to respond to questions. We liked the central location to the beach, shops, food, grocery store... and ease of access to main roads to get around island. Swimming pools and grounds were clean and beautiful. The beach chairs & cooler were awesome! The night security guard was friendly and helpful, and we felt safe in the area we stayed. The kitchen is beautiful and has appliances that met all our needs for cooking some of our meals. My only recommendation would be to purchase toilet paper on your first grocery run as we were only given 2 rolls for our week+ long stay :). All in all we had a lovely time and would stay here again.

Very nice! Clean! Convenient walk to several great beaches, stores and restaurants! Owner kept in touch during our trip to be sure we were taken care of. Staff at office check-in were helpful to help us acclimate to the property! I would stay here again if we come back! Mahalo!

Excellent location- the beach is just a short walk across the street with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The condo is neat and clean with views of the water from the balcony. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our stay in Kihei. The check in process was fast and Audrey had checked in to see how we were doing!
The unit is at the back, away from the street noise and the unit was well stocked with the essentials!
400m to the beach is a bonus!

This property was perfect for our needs. The owner/manager of this property was timely in replying to our questions, as well as responsive to any needs we may have. Located within walking distance to lots of shopping and eateries/restaurants. Would definely stay here again.

Audrey and Keith were great with their communication pre and during our stay. We rented both their one bedroom and 2 bedroom suite ( same building ) for our family. The 2 bedroom suite had all the beach gear and the beach is about a 5 min walk (across the street). The suite has everything we needed.

Had a lovely stay here. The a/c was quick to keep the living room cool. The ceiling fan & tower fan was adequate for the bedroom. We didn’t use the kitchen but it looked well stocked. Very central. Great for evening strolls down the strip and the beach was a short walk away. Shirley M

We had a great stay here - The property owners were very easy to communicate with and it exceeded our expectations. It’s a wonderful area of Kihei nice and close to the beach, with two nice pool areas on the property. It was so nice having beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella, coolers etc ready for us in the condo for our beach days. Would definitely stay here again!

This condo is in a great location, walking distance to restaurants, the beach, and convenient to anything else you may need. The very big PROBLEM was that it was pretty filthy when we arrived. The bed linens were DIRTY- stains on the comforter, and the sheets had hairs in them with dirty decorative pillows and pillowcases. The bathroom was also dirty- hair in the bathtub and dirt on the floor. The living space looked clean enough, but upon closer inspection the countertops were dirty- covered in dust or dirt, not sure which. It was a HUGE disappointment, and required a long trip out to Walmart for new bed sheets and a blanket, as well as some cleaning supplies to clean the place. Exactly the opposite of what one would want to do after traveling across the country for 12+ hours. Whoever stays next can enjoy our new navy sheet set that we reluctantly donated to the condo, as well as the extra time we spent in deep cleaning the space. One final issue was that the air conditioner did NOT cool the space. The bedroom was sweltering and the small fan hardly helped with the heat and stuffiness.Hopeful that the owner will address all this before anyone else has to deal with a dirty space after their travels to Maui.

We absolutely loved staying here. Everything from the decor to the location was perfect. The condo is very clean and the appliances are modern. Because this unit has a W/D in-unit, I ended up needing to pack so much less. We loved that the condo owners thought of "the little things" that made our trip to Hawaii enjoyable. We used the cooler, the beach chairs, the beach towels, and the tupperware every single day. We are already planning our trip back and will definitely be staying here!

It was a great stay and communication was wonderful. The condo was stocked with everything you would need to have a good time at the beach. We were close to everything. The beach is walking distant to the condo. The A/C in the living room worked great, but it did not quite reach the bedroom. We ended up sleeping on the pull-out couch instead. I would highly recommend!

Great location, and beautiful condo! everything we needed was there. The AC was crucial, however the water bucket dumping got to be tedious. Overall, I highly recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay in the Kihei area, lots to do and see, and so close to Big Beach(best beach), and fine dining.

We love Kihei! This place is very clean and homey. We have stayed in other condos in this building, and this one is our favorite. They have redone the kitchen, which makes the place feel larger. Diane was easy to work with, especially when we needed to add another night at the last minute. I would recommend this place.

This is the eighth stay varying from two weeks to over a month each at the Kihei Akahi property over the past 30 plus years. I continue to be impressed as the property has presented consistent contemporary quality and service over the entire period. The overall property and individual units are being continually updated to keep them fresh and welcoming. The staff do an excellent job every day maintaining tip top conditions to all common facilities (pools, barbecue areas, buildings and grounds). During this stay they managed a significant repaving project involving all the building’s parking lots in a one week period with no material impact to the residents. Well executed. A great place to stay. Another great stay.

Location: The Kihei Akahi is perfectly located across the street from Kamaolé beach park II, which in my opinion is the best of the three Kamaolé beaches. The Kihei Akahi complex is located next to multiple dining options, such as Mexican cuisine, breakfast, sports pub and up scale dining. The condo is located near the back of the complex which still offers ocean views close proximity to one of the two pools and little to no traffic noise from the street. The complex is located near three easy walking distance beaches, and no less than 7-10 other beaches within about a 5-10 minute drive. In general, this is the absolute ideal location in Kihei, on previous trips I've eyed this complex and made a note this is a perfect location.
Amenities: The Kihei Akahi has two great pools, if you like to BBQ the multiple BBQ's are located at the pool areas. Friendly people everywhere, botanical garden walking tour around the property, beautiful tennis court and very helpful people working in the office. The condo has a washer and dryer, great airflow, a very modern AC unit that operated at a very quiet sound level. The owners recently updated the entire unit with modern appliances, granite counters, beautiful cabinets loaded with all the necessary cooking utensils. Most people would either not think to bring beach chairs, umbrella and large beach towels....or they don't want to drag all of that along with them from home. The unit has two beach chairs, two coolers, large umbrella and multiple beach towels.
Comfort: It's very nice staying in a condo that has been well taken care of, the grounds are very well maintained with security always present (but not needed). There is a small amount of noise from people walking by outside in the breezeway, but the Quiet signs posted help reduce much of the coming and going noise (this is common in any complex with many people in one location). The couch in the living room pulls out into a bed, we didn't use this so I have no idea if it's comfortable. I can say the large King bed in the bedroom was very comfortable. The unit was very clean, so clean we felt guilty about bringing our beach stuff into the house, so we kept the sandy stuff in the rental car until we were done using it.
Would we stay here again? We would absolutely love to stay here again, the owners were amazing and checked in on us to multiple times and even let us check out late (no guarantees). We loved staying here!!!!!
