The living room features comfortable furnishings, a plush area rug (with lots of space to spread out) and an eclectic collection of local art, Asian antiques and Hawaiian heirloom furnishings. Guests will naturally gravitate to the outdoor living spaces with a lanai that is perfectly suited for family fun in the sun. The unique kitchen has windows that open to a pool-side bar, making feeding the kids and entertaining outdoors a breeze. The kitchen was renovated in 2022 and features beautiful new blue granite countertops, new tile flooring, new appliances, and custom storage.
The bedrooms are located near to each other in the eastern wing of the home. The en suite master bedroom is all about the ocean view as you gaze down upon Kauna'oa Bay from the comfort of your bed! Glass sliding doors open to your own private grass yard, perfect for morning yoga or just to lounge in the sun. The second guest bedroom offers a king size bed and a private garden lanai. The spacious third bedroom features two queen-size bunk beds—one of which includes a queen bed on top and a children’s table with two chairs below—along with a large open area ideal for a play space. The second and third bedrooms share a bathroom and there is a third bathroom located off of the kitchen (near the pool) that is complete with an additional shower. This classic Mauna Kea vacation home features thoughtful upgrades while still maintaining the vintage charm of the mid-century architecture and Pacific-island aesthetic that the resort is renown for.
Guests of Mauna Kea Fairways South 3 may purchase daily resort access to enjoy all facilities and amenities at both the Mauna Kea and Westin Hapuna Resorts. Access must be purchased for the entire duration of your stay and covers all registered guests in the unit. Place was amazing, definitely an older property but has a ton of character, amazing furniture, art, and a real classic Hawaiian feel. I would absolutely stay here again!!

I’ll say that the house is beautiful and charming. We took advantage of the ocean views and loved having a pool. The AC units in all bedrooms were a bonus since it was warm even in the evenings most nights. The interaction with the host was ok, nothing special, but ok. While the team is nice when you speak with them, the overall feel is that they manage too many properties and are spread thin. The reason I say this is when we needed a cleaning, they said they were too busy to do it for us the day we needed it done, so we had to strip all beds and do the cleaning turn ourselves which was a bummer to have to do that. There were a lot of cockroaches in the home itself and while I don’t care about that much, the wife and kids didn’t love the idea of them crawling around all over in the home.

We were in town for a birthday celebration and really enjoyed out stay. The house is spacious and well appointed. The pool and view are amazing. Its a perfect house for a large family and we hope to return!

We had a lovely family getaway at this Mauna Kea residence. We come to the island a few times a year and are Mauna Kea-philes, but this was our first time staying at this home. The location was wonderful and view of the New Years Eve fireworks could not be better. The home is older and the owners are currently updating it; when the updates are completed, the home will be outstanding. The South Kohala management company was very responsive to any needs that we had during the stay. We will consider this home again on our future stays.

A lovely vacation home with great views of the sunset and great location near Mauna Kea beach! The use of the Mauna Kea and Hapuna facilities is well worth the extra cost! South Kohala management group were great to work with. Any problems were handled promptly! We’ll be back

The property is beautiful and the views are amazing. We enjoyed lounging by the pool and cooling off during the warm days. Overall a very enjoyable place and great location.
