Fantastic stay! This home is so charming and has everything you could need. Extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. Note that the house does not have AC. We stayed in September and found we didn't need it, the fans worked well for us. We will stay again if in the area!

An ideal home base for our North Shore vacation, this home allowed us to feel like we lived right in Hanalei. Super easy walk to the beach, even carrying all our gear. Walking to town for meals and shopping is even easier. We loved being on a quiet, residential street where we could get good sleep and have plenty of space all to ourselves. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. It felt like home for the time we were lucky enough to stay there. I would definitely stay there again!

We, a family of 4 adults, had a wonderful stay in this property in Hanalei.The house fully lived up to our expectations, the rooms are nice and spacious, and it was absolutely spotless clean when we arrived.The location close to both the beach and the town was perfect for us, and very peaceful except during working hours, where there was som noise from a building site to the back of the house. The noise didn’t bother us much, since we mostly were out and about in the daytime.The kitchen amenities were good, the bathrooms were nice and clean, and the outdoor shower was great!Overall we are very satisfied.

Nice house. Very private on a small cul-de-sac. Neighbors can be a little noisy at times -- loud conversations/music until 11pm or so isn't uncommon. But super convenient to the Lahaina main strip...easily walkable to tons of restaurants, shops, and the beach. No A/C, so you'll use the fans a lot in the summer. Kitchen has the basics, but no dishwasher.

This property ended up becoming our home for 4 days and not just a place to sleep and plop our stuff into. The location can not be understated, the beach was 5 minutes in one direction and town was 5 minutes in the other. All you need and more is within walking distance. The property was incredibly clean and every drawer had exactly what you needed. There were plenty of towels provided and a larger main bathroom than I expected. There were also unexpected beach chairs, snorkel gear, and a beach umbrella provided in the laundry space. There was an overall sense of love and care to the space that was palpable. We can’t wait to come back. I can’t leave a review without mentioning that if you are needing a/c or a dishwasher they won’t be found here. This place is a true beach cottage from another time but that isn’t a downgrade.

Terrific location - just a short, 5-minute walk to the middle of Hanalei Bay beach.Very nice place, with much more character than a condo.Only problem was a rooster who started crowing before midnight and kept it up off and on for the rest of the night. I asked my son to get out of bed, go find it, and make us some rooster fricassee. But he wouldn't.This happened only one night out of 5. No idea why.

The house was exactly what we needed. We never used the tv, so didn't have any issues with sound, which it seems like other visitors have had with the neighbors. The neighbor did ask for us to turn off a porch light but she was perfectly nice about it.

The house is lovely, in a typical Hawaiian style. It is in a great location in Hanalei - a couple blocks to the shops and the beach and has a very nice garden and deck area. The neighborhood is a bit of a challenge however owing to the complete lack of soundproofing. Quiet time is mentioned but this includes INSIDE the home too. Forget watching TV after dinner for which we were visited, yelled and swore at. I enjoyed a similar experience a couple days later (without the visit) for talking too loudly while doing the dishes at 8 20 in the evening.Bring a good book. Go to bed at 8pm. Talk to no-one for the remainder of the night and you'll be fine. It is a house I would have gladly returned to but NOT in the current environment - nor will I be encouraging friends and family to go.

Puanani is a great little house in a fantastic location just a couple of blocks off the Hanalei strip of shops and restaurants on a quiet cul de sac (save for the 5 AM roosters). It was perfect for our family of four (our adult children shared the room with twin beds, I and my wife slept in the master bedroom). The house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms indoors, plus an outdoor shower. The electric range was fine, even for a gas snob like myself, and there's a large gas grill. Outdoor table on the deck makes for pleasant meals. Washer/Dryer and 4 beach chairs and umbrella were on site, a nice bonus. No AC and no dishwasher, but we were never hot (in April temps peaked at around 80). If you are looking for luxury, Puanani is not for you. But if you are looking to live comfortably "like a local" for a few days in the best part of the island, I highly recommend.

I was very happy with Kauai vacation rental staff. Everyone was kind and helpful and provided needed information. The house was a delight !It was very clean and had everything one would need. The cushions on the deck desperately need replacing- they were very uncomfortable as they were super thin and worn. I know there was caution given to being quiet for the neighbors but the neighbors are the noisy ones. The driveway is used as a turn around throughout the day. I could not figure out why so many cars coming to the end of the street and then turning into driveway. I would recommend a chain or rope across the driveway. Others before me have commented on this as well. They make a lot of noise turning on the gravel. Wondered if it is intentional.

This home is located perfectly between Hanalei Bay and town. You can be at either location in a two minute walk. The house is a little rustic but was the perfect get away for myself and a friend. No need for a car with the proximity to all that Hanalei has to offer. I would stay here again.

Our family (husband, myself, two boys,16 and 11) had a great stay at this property. Super clean and comfortable. It's a well-lived-in house, meaning no granite countertops or fancy tiles in the bathroom. The outdoor shower is grand and the location is superb. Yes, the roosters are noisy, but they are literally everywhere. So I think you would hear them wherever you stayed in Hanalei. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

Would have given 5 stars, the property deserves it, but the resident rooster crowed the entire night. And the property behind us was under construction the whole week and were very loud (air compressor, nail gun) so it was not a relaxing place during the day. We would have appreciated a heads up on that. The property itself was perfect for us and close to the beach and downtown. It would have been lovely if it were not for all the racket.

Perfect location only a 2 minute walk to the restaurants and shops and 2 minutes to the beach. Cozy cottage had everything we needed(just wish it had surf boards or boogies boards). Comfortable bed and the outdoor shower was wonderful! We loved being greeted by the geckos every morning. Roosters weren’t a bother at all. We will definitely be back.

We loved the old school Hawaiian vibe here-quiet neighborhood (except for the roosters which lend a charm until they wake you at 2,3,4,5 am🙀), the house is simple and quiet and a perfect location. We will be back!! One comment-although the couch is cool looking it’s not very comfy. We loved having beach gear available to us. It’s a wonderful hane!

The house is adorable and cozy. The VRBO description about the neighborhood being quiet is misleading. There is a crazy neighbor who comes over to yell, scream, cuss us out and threaten to call the cops because we were in the living room with our 12 year old watching a movie after 9am. The property management company told us they have more problems with her than any other property on the island. The homeowners and management company need to be a better job disclosing the truth about the neighborhood. The other neighbors were all lovely, just this one person who was bent on taking out her unhappiness on tourists.

The property managers were great, there was a small issue with the washing machine and they provided a workaround until it could be fixed. The house itself was very nice and we really enjoyed it. There's very little air conditioning and Hanalei and if you happen to go when it's hot be prepared to just enjoy the breeze and the indoor fans. The house is located very close to Hanalei Bay which was great for swimming when we were there in mid-september, is also very close to Hanalei town which has some great restaurants and shops.

We absolutely adored everything about our stay at Puanani house. It was immaculate and comfortable in every way. The location was perfect - we could walk to the beach or town in minutes, but had a sense of quiet and peace away from the crowds. The kitchen was well set up and the grill very good, so we cooked in several times. Despite the rainy week it was a joy to be there. Reading on the lanai with the mountains moving in and out of the clouds was the perfect way to get out of the rain. I can't wait to come back.

The house was a pefect location for us, a family with two teenagers. Wifi worked perfect. We loved the outdoor shower and the terrace with the great barbecue. We did not miss the aircondition, it worked well with the fans and the open windows. Well- equipt and clean, with lots of towels.

Short walk to restaurants as well as to the beach or for a hike.

The BBQ was amazing, lots of towels, comfy beds, homey feel. We absolutely loved the pretty tropical garden full of flowers and geckos. The showers were great, one inside and one out. The louvred windows, fans and covered deck kept things nice and cool. Definitely recommend this place for a chill family holiday.

This house was a dream for our family of three! We celebrated our sons 1st birthday here, what a special memory. House had every ammenity you could ever need: all kitchen appliances and the extras, laundry, numerous beach-going items, cozy bedding and pillow options, perfect lanai for bbq meals, cup of coffee or staying out of the rain with views of the mountains, tropical foliage and great yard for children, cozy living room with television options, wi-fi and more! This was one of our favorite vacation homes ever. Even the local roosters in the morning were something we loved, especially our son. We felt like locals here. Only 5 minute walk to town for restaurants, shopping and groceries and 5 minute walk to hanalei bay. Go for sunset! Perfect location to visit the North Shore and amazing beaches with mountain backdrops. The management company dropped the keys at the car rental spot which made everything so easy after a long flight. We will be back and have recommended this property to our friends and family! Thank you for the memories!

We had a wonderful time at the Puanani home. The home is perfect for our family of four. The location is fabulous - minutes from the beach and town. We were thankful for the well-stocked kitchen, board games for rainy days, and laundry facilities. The porch was also fabulous and the outdoor shower helped us keep sand out of the house. Our only recommendation is that they add a couple extra beach towels and some boogie boards to their supplies.
