We enjoyed our stay at the Waikiki Banyan. The condo had a nice amount of space for family meals and was in a convenient location. There were a few times the pool was closed when we wanted to use it but overall liked the pool, hot tubs, sauna and the space for grilling. The elevators were very slow and one was not working most of the time.

We liked the location and the size of the space. We were able to have meals together and also loved the grills! The pool area, sauna and outdoor space was nice. The pool was closed during the day a few times we wanted to use it but overall we enjoyed the amenities.

Good position, good views of Diamond Head and the beach, close to the main beach and main street, only a 3 minute walk. Air con needs replacing, unit was noisy and filter vent kept falling off, and fan speed didn't work across 3 speeds, only medium speed. Unit clean, communication good, lifts are very slow, sometimes 5 to 10mins waiting for a lift. Also a kettle could not be located.

Overall, a very pleasant stay. Check-in and check-out was very smooth and straightforward. I truly appreciated that there wasn’t a laundry list of check out procedures that occurs with other rentals. Property is a 5-10 minute walk to Waikiki Beach and nearby shops- very convenient. The free parking was a big plus. Nice-sized kitchen with full-size stove, oven microwave, refrigerator and other appliances. Keep in mind that items such as spices (except salt, pepper and some sugar) and condiments are not furnished if this is a norm for you. Because of this, we did not cook as much as desired.Bedroom and living area were comfortable and adequate. We appreciated the beach towels, chairs and umbrellas!Though not the fault of the unit or rental company, be aware that there may be disruptions due to multiple sirens/emergencies in the neighborhood. If you’re a light sleeper, I would recommend earplugs.Rating is four stars because again it was a nice stay. However, the cleanliness and condition, specifically the bathroom and kitchen appliances (fingerprints) could be improved. There is paint peeling in the bathroom and the bathroom fan has a large collection of dust in the vent. Bathtub appears to be slightly older with some wear and tear.Although we probably would not rent this particular unit again, we would gladly rent with Captain Cook again!

We stayed here on a quick 4-day trip while I was working in Kapolei. It's the perfect location for all of what you need in Waikiki. Byron our contact was great and the unit and building were everything you'd expect for a reasonably priced condo in town. Would definitely stay again! Aloha.

Room is a dump. Asked front reception to use the restroom and they said restrooms are locked and can only be used by permanent residents. Parking garage spots are too small.

The property was perfect for our Hawaii stay.
Location was good, away from the main traffic of Waikiki but close enough to enjoy everything it has to offer.
The building was comfortable, property is maintained very well. Elevators are fast, we never had to wait too long. Parking was perfect especially for Waikiki there was always spots available. Unit was exactly as described, clean, comfortable and had everything that you would need.
We visit Oahu often and this was the first time staying in Waikiki...we were pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay here again.

The best quality of this rental is it location and short walking distance to the beach. Renovations (drilling noise) in the apartment above made our stay less enjoyable. We would likely stay here again, but would book directly through Captain Cook Resorts (owner) in the future.

The property was as described. Pleasantly surprised by the full amenities that allowed us to have a relaxing self catering stay. The view of Diamond head was exceptional. In a great location for all of the downtown Waikiki essentials. It was great to have a retreat at the end of a day of exploring. Spa and pool facilities are available but it’s a first come first serve basis. However it can get noisy at night due to its downtown high rise location where loud exhausts and sirens are personified. Also the loo roll, pack your own unless you don’t mind see through provisions!

The Waikiki Banyan was very easy to find and was within 2 blocks of the beach. It was very convenient to the activities that we wanted to do in Honolulu.
The check in process was a little inconvenient as the property manager Byron did not meet us at first and told us to park the car and go up to the unit to get the parking pass and then go back down and park the car in a space. It worked out okay.
Then we had trouble turning on the TV and he did come to the unit and turn it on. However when we tried to use the TV the first night it would not go to any other channel except TVland so that’s all we could watch. I texted Byron and he did not respond. We stay in our room of an evening and watching TV is important to us. This was very disappointing. The remote had corroded batteries that needed to be replaced.
The unit was comfortable enough for us. The kitchen had what we needed for a few days. The bed was comfortable enough. The electrical outlets in the bedroom only had one plug that was working on each and should be addressed.
The view was amazing and the lanai was spacious. The unit could stand to be refreshed and repainted. It was a bit worn.
The condo met our expectations for the most part except for the TV. The best thing about it that it was convenient to activities we wanted to do and it was comfortable and safe.

Our stay couldn’t have been any better! This is a bright, spacious unit with a sweeping view of Diamondhead and a partial ocean view. It is stocked with everything you could possibly need-we couldn’t believe how much thought was put into it-and the unit was nice and clean!
The washer (just a door down the hall from this unit) wasn’t working while we were there, but we just buzzed down a floor. Still, very convenient having it so close once it is fixed.
Check-in and check-out was an absolute breeze and parking was always available.
The location was fantastic! Just a quick walk to the beach (chairs, umbrella, and boogie board were included with the rental, too!), many restaurants, lots of shopping, and access to the best of the area’s nightlife! We are looking forward to another visit!

We really enjoyed our stay in this unit. Pros; cleanliness, ease of check in and out, great communication, great location, the unit itself is up to date with great counter tops and appliances except for the TV but I understand if you're on vacation you won't be doing much TV watching but if you have a rest day on your itinerary a newer TV is recommended. Almost everything you will need during a short stay the unit has. Only cons; the building itself needs some renovating specifically the carpet in the hallways and you hear the ambulance a lot while you are there, which is expected if you are in the heart of any city but it didn't interfere with our sleep. We are really happy with our stay and would 100% recommendthis unit.

Can’t say enough about this condo, we stayed here for our 10 year anniversary and we absolutely loved it!! Very clean and comfortable and check in and check out was a breeze! Our property manager was very responsive and accessible. Gorgeous view out the window and this condo was perfect location for walking to the beach and to shops/restaurants! We rented a car for the week and we loved that parking and Wi-Fi was included in the price! Highly recommend getting a rental car to explore the island! Everything was amazing and would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here while dropping off our daughter at UH for her freshman year. Very happy with the unit. It was a god value for the nightly rate. Good central location and management was helpful. Parking is included, but if you rent an SUV the spots are limited and you may have to street park.

The condo is a small one bedroom right on the edge of Waikiki. It's an easy walk to the beach, zoo, shopping, and many great restaurants. The arrival process is complicated due to the size of the condo complex, but the clean place and access make up for it. We really enjoyed our stay.

Overall great property and location. A/c felt great and it was good too come to a cool room after a long day at the gym. Walking distance from the beach and having parking included was well worth it.
My kids loved place and it didn’t feel cramped with them running around.
Only complaint was the sofa bed dipped in the middle and the beach umbrellas did not work.

Great place to take a break from the busy city. The ac felt fantastic and the view is wonderful! Our days were very busy outside the apartment but then it was very nice to come back and relax on the couch for an hour and look out at diamond head/the ocean. Very clean, centrally located, and provides everything you need.

The location is handy to everything, and you can walk everywhere or take the bus which is only $1 for seniors. Having a parking pass is a big plus! The unit could use more pots, as there was only one large pot and frying pans for cooking.

Just a few minor issues that need to be addressed:
Window shades in living room - missing one panel and panels keep falling off; Window coverings is inadequate.
Bathroom - Towel rack in bathroom and TP holder were broken.
Bedroom has electrical outlets that did not work.
Other suggestions amenities to provide:
Bath soap
Wine glasses
Detergent for clothes and/or a card to use the machines.
Credenza to cover TV electronics
Update to a larger TV with apps so you can stream.

The condo was wonderful. The views were beautiful. We appreciated all of the beach chairs and the umbrella. It’s so close to the beach without being crazy busy all the time. The pool area is big and not too busy. It seems as thought they are renovating the tennis court area, I am curious as to what they are doing with it. The parking is a major plus for this unit. My husband and I stayed here for seven nights. Upon arrival we did get to check in about 3 hours early so that was super nice. When we walked in the room for the most part it was decent however it definitely needs some TLC the walls were pretty dirty and looked like they haven’t been wiped down in months. There also was a few cosmetic details that could also be fixed. I’m huge on the little things so it was kind of a big deal for me. The location was pretty good. You can get pretty much anywhere downtown within a 15 minute walk. The parking spot was super convenient definitely a plus.

Overall, the stay was not quite worth the price we paid, but the unit was clean(ish) and free of mold and bugs.
The unit was renovated nicely in the kitchen and had a large open space. The kitchen had all the amenities to make some decent meals, but the dishes felt dirty/dusty. The bathroom was mold-free, but the step-in tub was slippery to shower in (we found a rubber mat tucked away on the last day of our stay) and the towel rack fell off the wall the first day (luckily there were other places to hang a towel). The walls were dirty with lots of ding marks - a fresh coat of paint would go a long way. There were no bugs in the unit, so that was a plus. The bed was not very comfortable (felt old and heavily used). The front door seemed as if it could be easily kicked in, but luckily, the area felt safe, so that wasn't much of a worry. View from the balcony was nice, but like others mentioned - was blocked by a very old run-down apartment building.
There was no rental manual in the unit or found on VRBO, so the checkout seemed vague... did you want towels gathered up, the bed stripped, the dishes washed --- I dunno?!
It is in a city, so it is NOT quiet. We used the air conditioner and a sound machine app on the phone to try and drown it out at night. An easy walk to the beaches, shops and restaurants though - if that is your thing. Parking garage was tight, so I recommend renting a smaller/shorter car.
The rental manager was easy to communicate with and responded quickly.
Overall, I would personally not stay here again... of the rentals we have stayed in, this just felt "cold" and did not contain the personal touches that most others have had. BUT, if you are looking to be close to the city action, beaches and shops (walking distance), this might be a good pick for you.

We had a great time just three of us. Perfectly situated only blocks from beach. Only thing blocking the view of Diamond Head (partially) is a dilapidated apartment building, but it’s a big city. Walking distance to incredible shops and restaurants. Parking a plus. Only ding on “communication” is due to a freak accident caused by 30mph winds. We had a window open overnight, and the wind kicked up the curtain, which knocked over and broke a lamp. I reached out repeatedly to ownership, to see how to handle…but got no response. So…:we left!
Aside from that, the owner was personable up front with check in and suggestions for where to go. We had a lovely time, and the secluded bedroom option was nice for we parents :)

We were driven to stay at the Waikiki Banyan because of the free parking but it was way more value than that! The quality of this property, the cleanliness, convenience to everything and the property manager were all AMAZING!! This place had everything you would need! We will definitely be back! We stayed 5 days and enjoyed the condo. Before we even left for our vacation we already knew what to expect. They provided us with arrival/departure instructions, list of activities to do and places to eat. We knew exactly what to expect and what tondo when we arrived. I gave a 4 star on property cleanliness because the floors hadn't been swept or mopped. Other than that everything was great! The beach chairs and umbrellas came in handy. Byron was our contact and was very helpful and responsive. We did not any issues the time we were there. We will definitely stay there again!

Great place for hitting all the local hot spots. Close to the beach but also within a few steps of metro transit to reach points of interest such as Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor. Our host was very accommodating in our checkout requests and went above and beyond to assist.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 days on our first trip to Oahu. The location is excellent, we were able to walk to Waikiki beach and all the restaurants in the area we wanted to explore. It was well stocked with 2 beach chairs and 2 beach umbrellas as well as beach towels, which was all appreciated! The on site parking was certainly an added bonus as well. There is a cute coffee shop on the main floor of the building as well that had good coffee. We both agree we would stay here again!

This place was absolutely amazing. I loved the view from the room. Despite the units being close together, and the unit being right next to the elevator, it was very quiet. The appliances and towels provided were clean. The bed was comfortable. Parking was easy to find, but the spots were pretty tight so I was happy to have a smaller vehicle. The staff were so friendly as well! Will definitely be interested in booking this place again!

We booked this unit for our wedding stay. It ended up being cheaper than the Hilton hotel and being better since our friends stayed in the Hilton room we had in mind. The space was very large and very clean. There is a lot of light that goes into the unit which made it amazing for getting ready photos for my wife. Would definitely go back again!

This lodging was beautiful. We woke up to beautiful views every morning. The place was very clean and had everything that we needed. The neighborhood was convenient to navigate to our destinations, including the airport. Highly recommend!
